Book of Esther Part 2 – Favor Given the King’s Wife

Book of Esther Part 2 – Favor Given the  King’s Wife

We have seen that Esther coming before the king contrary to the law, is a type of Christ laying down His life for us. Esther, is faithful in her calling and willing to lay down her life for her people. She is a type of Church, the truly elect. How do we know we are God’s elect and have indeed “passed from death unto life”? Here is the way to know we love our brethren, and at the same time know we are passing from death unto life.

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Many say they are the elect (Esther) of Christ, but it becomes clear that few know what the love of God is. Here is one of Christ’s commandments which very few men who claim they come in Christ’s Name is teaching or keeping.

Mat 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Esther, as type of God’s elect, is only doing so, is only accomplished by Christ Himself living His life of resisting the devil within her. When we love our brothers in accord with the scriptural definition of love, then we lay down our lives for our brethren.

1Jn 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer  hath eternal life abiding in him.

1Jn 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and  we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Joh 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

Esther appears before the king

Est 5:1 Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and  stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king  sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.

Esther puts on her royal apparel, our royal apparel, which is the anointing we receive  from Christ. It is upon Aaron (type of Christ) and upon his sons, types of the sons of  Christ. It is the faith given us by Christ, a gift.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need  not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and  is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

1Jn 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may  have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

Exo 29:21 And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons’ garments with him.

The king saw Esther standing as a type of us, standing not adding or taking away from  the Word of God. We tarry in Jerusalem …. until endued with power from on High … Luke 24:49

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this  book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that  are written in this book:

Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy,  God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from  the things which are written in this book.

We obtain favour in Christ’s sight, here shadowed by Ahasuerus, the king. The king  extend his hand (H3027 meaning an open hand indicating power), extend the sceptre, a  rod of empire, drawing her near.

Est 5:2 And it wasH1961 so, when the kingH4428 sawH7200 (H853) EstherH635 the queenH4436  standingH5975 in the court,H2691 that she obtainedH5375 favourH2580 in his sight:H5869 and  the kingH4428 held outH3447 to EstherH635 (H853) the goldenH2091 sceptreH8275 thatH834 was  in his hand.H3027 So EstherH635 drew near,H7126 and touchedH5060 the topH7218 of the  sceptre.H8275

Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

The King gives Esther (His Bride) Half of my kingdom

Est 5:3 Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy  request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.

Psa 21:2 Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

Half of my kingdom means only in the throne will I be greater …… Esther is replacing  Vashti and rules over Egypt. Remember the story of Pharaoh and Joseph as another  shadow of this principle, comparing spiritual with spiritual (1 Co 2:13).

Gen 41:40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my  people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

Gen 41:41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of  Egypt.

Esther devises her plan to act upon the destruction of the Jews by petitioning a banquet for the king and Haman, the enemy of the Jews. Christ, Shiloh, and His angels has to come so that Haman is being destroyed.

Est 5:4 And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman  come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.

Luk 17:33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

Gen 49:10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come;

A thief in the night

Haman has to make haste. Christ comes as a thief in the night. Haman has no idea what is going to befall him.

Mat 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

Est 5:5 Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath  said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.

Est 5:6 And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and  it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it  shall be performed.

Est 5:7 Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is;

Est 5:8 If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant  my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet  that I shall prepare for them, and I will do tomorrow as the king hath said.

At the banquet of wine, we think of Christ turning the water into wine, read John 2:2- 10). We hear what we have heard from the beginning ……

1Jn 2:7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment  which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have  heard from the beginning.

1Jn 2:8 Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and  in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

1Jn 2:9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until  now.

1Jn 2:10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of  stumbling in him.

1Jn 2:11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and  knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

It is an old commandment (love your enemies, turn the other cheek …… etc.) which we  are hearing from the beginning. We have to obey Christ in order for Haman, our man of  sin, to being destroyed.

2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will  let, until he be taken out of the way.

2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with  the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

In the meantime ……… Haman thinks he is the one

Est 5:9 Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when  Haman saw Mordecai in the king’s gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he  was full of indignation against Mordecai.

Est 5:10 Nevertheless Haman refrained himself: and when he came home, he sent and  called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife.

Est 5:11 And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his  children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had  advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.

Est 5:12 Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the  king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and tomorrow am I invited  unto her also with the king.

Est 5:13 Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at  the king’s gate.

Est 5:14 Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made  of fifty cubits, high, and tomorrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be  hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.

Babylon in us does not know that it is Babylon. We perceive ourselves as God’s elect. Knowledge puffs up. We read earlier on in this OT shadow:

Est 3:8 And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king’s laws: therefore, it is not for the king’s profit to suffer them.

It is almost as if …… The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil (Prov 16:4).

Haman in us, the self-righteous Pharisee, thinks he is making it and this is the great deception……  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 2 Th 2:3

Luk 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s  life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Luk 12:16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man  brought forth plentifully:

Luk 12:17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no  room where to bestow my fruits?

Luk 12:18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater;  and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

Luk 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many  years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

Luk 12:20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of  thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

Luk 12:21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

Haman the Pharisee in us, does not know the times ………

Mar 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Mat 16:2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.

Mat 16:3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and  lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the  signs of the times?

Haman prepares a gallows and the king is troubled

Haman, as the type of the ten horns of the beast, prepares a gallows on which he intends to ask the king to hang Mordecai (Est 5), and at this point, the king’s sleep is taken from him, resulting in a late-night reading of the chronicles revealing that Mordecai, has not been given His due reward for having saved the life of King Ahasuerus.

Est 6:1 On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of  records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.

Est 6:2 And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two  of the king’s chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king  Ahasuerus.

Est 6:3 And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for  this? Then said the king’s servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for  him.

This is we hear again what we have heard from the beginning. Faith comes by hearing,  we now delight to worship/obey what we hear. Remember Mordecai saved the king from  death earlier on in type. Mordecai saving the king typifying the spirit of Elias (John) as  we have seen earlier on.

Luk 7:26 But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much  more than a prophet.

Luk 7:27 This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face,  which shall prepare thy way before thee.

Luk 7:28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a  greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is  greater than he.

In a moment

Est 6:4 And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into  the outward court of the king’s house, to speak unto the king to hang  Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.

Est 6:5 And the king’s servants said unto him, Behold, Haman standeth in the court.  And the king said, Let him come in.

Est 6:6 So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the  man whom the king delighteth to honour? Now Haman thought in his heart, To whom  would the king delight to do honour more than to myself?

Est 6:7 And Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delighteth to  honour,

Est 6:8 Let the royal apparel be brought which the king useth to wear, and the horse  that the king rideth upon, and the crown royal which is set upon his head:

Est 6:9 And let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king’s most  noble princes, that they may array the man withal whom the king delighteth to  honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim  before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delighteth to honour.

Est 6:10 Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse,  as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king’s gate: let  nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken.

Est 6:11 Then took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and  brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him,  Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour.

This story is a type of this NT prophecy:

Rev 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

The problem with Haman is his pride. Haman within is under the law which is not the law of Christ.

1Jn 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Haman within, is the daughter of Zion, walking with an outstretched neck with wanton eyes and mincing as we go.

Isa 3:16 Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and  walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

Jas 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

But even the Pharisee within us all, is beautiful in its time “is, was and will be”, it has to be for the kingdom of God to be ushered in.

Ecc 3:11 He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in  their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning  to the end.

The Lord sets up, the Lord removes

Haman is shamed and Mordecai is honoured typifying the old being replaced by the new. The Law of Christ is replacing the law of Moses (Ten Commandments) and the law of the gentiles (Rom 2:15) which are one and the same thing. The carnal mind are not subject to Christ (the poor) but only Christ is able to bring us out of death/disobedience.

Jud 1:13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.

Psa 14:6 Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.

Psa 14:7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD  bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Continuing…. Haman has his head covered, he is hasting to his house.

Est 6:12 And Mordecai came again to the king’s gate. But Haman hasted to his house  mourning, and having his head covered.

Est 6:13 And Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends everything that had  befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecai be of  the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail  against him, but shalt surely fall before him.

Est 6:14 And while they were yet talking with him, came the king’s chamberlains, and  hasted to bring Haman unto the banquet that Esther had prepared.

1Co 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the  head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

1Co 11:4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth  his head.

Haman does not acknowledge Christ as His Head and therefore great shame comes to him. This is us in our seasons.

Job 8:22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.

Isa 33:10 Now will I rise, saith the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.

Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come  to destroy, but to fulfil.

Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle  shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall  teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall  do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

To recap

In the book of Esther, we have thus far see the spiritual realities of the OT shadows:

Ahasuerus, the king, makes a feast, all the kingdoms of this world (Vashti, a type of Egypt) does not satisfy……… to be carnally minded is death.

Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that  are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and  peace.

Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law  of God, neither indeed can be.

Lev 18:20 Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour’s wife, to defile  thyself with her.

We are not able to serve God and Mammon, we have to come out of her My people.

2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

We, though rich in knowledge (Egypt) think we can escape the judgments of God not knowing that we are and will live by every Word proceeding out of the mouth of God.

Mat 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth  him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

Mat 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and  worship me.

Mat 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt  worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Ahasuerus, the king marries Esther, a virgin……called unto the marriage Supper of the Lamb.

Rev 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the  marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Ahasuerus loses his first love and falls away, setting up Haman, the abomination of desolation in the Temple of God which Temple we are……

Eze 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy  covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the  sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets  and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Eze 28:14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou  wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of  the stones of fire.

Eze 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till  iniquity was found in thee.

1Co 4:19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech  of them which are puffed up, but the power.

1Co 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

Esther, as types of us, has to lose and is losing her life, appearing before the king, she, through fiery trials and judgements, is coming to see that faith without works is dead.

Jas 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have  not works? can faith save him?

Jas 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

Jas 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled;  notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what  doth it profit?

Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Esther requires Ahasuerus and Haman to come this day to a banquet of wine (Est 5:4), Christ is resurrected in us again, what we have heard from the beginning at the banquet of wine typifying the first resurrection………Ahasuerus sleep is taken and he remembers Mordecai and delights to honour him.

Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look  for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Esther petitioned the king and Haman to attend the banquet the next day that she is preparing which is going and is destroying the man of sin…… with the brightness of Christ’s coming typifying our Day of the Lord is, was and will be.

Isa 34:8 For it is the day of the LORD’S vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.

Joe 2:11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

2 Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

In our next study, we will see how the mystery of the kingdom of heaven within us is revealed when the kingdoms of this world becomes the kingdom of Christ and His Christ within first and at the appointed time for all humanity.

Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal (age abiding life), that they might know thee the only  true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

The First and Last: The Alpha and the Omega

Rev 22:13  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

All things are of God is a most important spiritual pillar that is so often spoken about on this blog and believed by so precious few.  This includes everything, the good, the bad, the dark, the light, even our very sins without any exceptions.

Eph 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

So few are given to know this and brought into this inheritance in this life in these clay vessels.  But it does not change the immutable truth of who the Lord is and what He is doing in the lives of men.

Dan 4:35  And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

Jesus is the beginning and the end.  Sure He created all things thru the power God gave to Him and it is Him who hold all things together.  These verses cannot be shown enough, if only people could believe them.

Col 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Col 1:17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Rom 11:36  For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

1Co 8:6  But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Yet these profound words of Scripture about “ALL THINGS” and the  Lord being the Alpha and Omega are far larger and profound than anyone yet carnal can comprehend, until their eyes are opened to see.

Rev 22:13  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

What this verse and many others like it say for those who can believe, is that all things that happen and that anyone does are from the Lord.  Jesus Christ is the first and the last, the beginning and the end.  But do you know that all men are first Adam and then the Lord from heaven?  Did you know that first comes the man of sinful flesh thru Christ and then comes the new man thru Christ? Don’t you know that flesh and blood was never intended to inherit the kingdom of God and cannot?

1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

First the natural than the spiritual.  But all things in between, THE ALPHA and the OMEGA, are still all IN CHRIST.

Paul’s words describe this macro truth and giant pillar that if you are given too see it and believe it will open up giant doors in your heaven to receive the truth and grow in knowledge of the Lord.

1Co 15:43  It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

1Co 15:44  It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

1Co 15:45  And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

1Co 15:46  Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

1Co 15:47  The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. (first and last)

1Co 15:48  As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

1Co 15:49  And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. (alpha and omega, beginning and the end)

So all men will go thru this process, it only matters the times appointed before hand.  You see all things have been written in our books of life before there were any such days.  That is simply how powerful God Almighty is and the carnal mind just cannot accept these truths.  But God’s Elect will simply stick with the Scriptures that sayeth this:

Psa 139:16  Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

Job 14:5  Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;

Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

And yes this includes our initial marred in the flesh, rebellious and sinful state.  There are no exclusions to God’s sovereignty despite what our carnal minds might want to believe.

Isa 63:17  O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants’ sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.

Here is the vision of what God the potter is making and the process He has ordained for it. Contrary to Babylon folklore, man did not fall in the garden, but instead was created in bodies of sinful flesh on purpose.  And this is how ALL ISRAEL shall be saved in the end!!

Jer 18:1  The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

Jer 18:2  Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.

Jer 18:3  Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.

Jer 18:4  And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

Jer 18:5  Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Jer 18:6  O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

The New testament says the same thing, God’s plan never changed.  So much for the lie about the fall of mankind, it sure seems to say we were created marred ON PURPOSE!!!!!  That is Christ’s work in us.

Rom 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Rom 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

Rom 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Nobody has arrived in these clay vessels.  We all wait but God’s Elect, the firstfruits will understand these things and earnestly be praying for the hastening of the Lord’s work in us.  A down payment or earnest of the Spirit is awesome but we wait for the fullness of the purchased possession in our new spiritual bodies.

Rom 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

God first gives us this experience of evil on purpose.  We have to learn good and evil and recent posts such as Who Is The Author of Evil  and I Make All Things New have spoken on those topics at length.

In God’s higher ways, our own wickedness is used to correct us in due time.  But make no mistake, this is all HIS work in us, we have nothing to do with it.  He is the alpha and the omega in our lives and the lives of every human being that has or will ever exists.

Jer 2:19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

Via the process of judgment we will learn good and evil and be taught the righteousness that is only found in Christ.

Isa 26:9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

And here is a great verse rarely seen or believed by the carnal minds of those in Babylon who cling to their strong delusion of eternal torment and free will of men.

Psa 90:3  Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

The fact is that everything we do is IN CHRIST.  He is the first and the last, the beginning and the end; he is the alpha and the omega.  Even the bad stuff that is cut off is IN CHRIST.  Still don’t believe?  What sayeth the Lord?

Joh 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Joh 15:5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Paul tells us this also, in this very profound and enlightening Scripture. The Lord is not coming in behind us cleaning up our messes, He is working all things for the counsel of His will.

Act 17:28  For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Knowing that all things that happen are not some coincidence or strange happenstance but are for the sakes of God’s very Elect is a mind blowing truth.  As we grow we can begin to look behind in our walk and see how the Lord has done these things to us.  I have suffered much of late, been stripped of many things but all those things were done for the sake of the new Peter and Christ in me to grow and for the old man Pete to die.  Even the suffering, especially the trials and the suffering.

2Co 4:15  For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

1Pe 4:12  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

As we begin to grow in the truth, we will finally come to understand this truth and why we should work out our own salvation with fear and not be murmuring and disputing with the carnally minded.

Php 2:12  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Php 2:13  For it is God (NOT YOUR FREE WILL) which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Php 2:14  Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

It is coming to believe and not doubt this truth  — that Christ is the first and the last and all points in between that is spiritual maturity.  We have to be brought to our wits end with our sins and be taught that of our own striving we cannot and will not conquer anything.  We are all first fools and incapable of stopping our sinning despite the outwardly clean cups we remain full of death with uncircumcised hearts.  But then the Lord comes to bring judgment and destroy that beast within us all.

Psa 107:17  Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

Psa 107:18  Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat (true doctrines) ; and they draw near unto the gates of death (believing false doctrines and lies such as eternal torment and free will)

Psa 107:19  Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses (when they come to see they are truly a beast and nothing good dwells in their flesh, etc)

Psa 107:20  He sent his word (causes them to hear His word spoken by the angels of God), and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

This process begins IN CHRIST when we see and when we as the reader understand who and what is the abomination of desolation.

Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Once that happens then the victory will come little by little.  This is the Lord’s work in us to bring salvation and give us deliverance.  It will only take place if we are brought to Mt. Zion with spiritually speaking means into His Body.  We all will live the experience of thinking this is all up to us yet we will miserably fail. This is part of what living by every word of the Lord means.  Yet in our day of judgment, if that day has come in this age, we will learn otherwise.

Psa 107:23  They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters (CARNAL WORKS, FLESH)

Psa 107:24  These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.

Psa 107:25  For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

Psa 107:26  They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

Psa 107:27  They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end.

Psa 107:28  Then (when they see they are the beast, the abomination, in need of repentance, need a physician……THEN) they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

Psa 107:29  He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

Psa 107:30  Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

We all must be dragged to Christ.  He brings us into the desired haven, we would never make such a free will decision of our own choosing.  The real Jesus is a rock of offense and a stumbling block and we will esteem HIM NOT when we are yet carnal and devoid of ears to hear and eyes to see.

Isa 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Revealing the antiChrist

We are all antiChrist’s when we go around believing and denying that the Lord is working all things for the counsel of His will.  We deny Jesus Christ with such carnal blasphemies.  It is the spirit of self righteousness, lying spirits that all seduce us at first.  These are the lies and false doctrines taught and believed by billions in orthodox Christianity.  Lord willing we will learn to try those spirits and our own thoughts against what the WORD says to sort out the truth from the lies.

1Jn 4:1  Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

The spirit that says Jesus Christ was not first and is not the very beginning of our lives and all points in between, the good, the bad, the sins, the stumbling, the falling into lusts and pride, etc………… IS THE LIAR.  Such a spirit denies Jesus Christ, is not from God, and will keep us in bondage and spiritually blind.  This spirit will claim God has nothing to do with our sins and those are free will decisions we ourselves make.  Those spirits, thoughts and doctrines are not from God, they are from the enemy (tares of the field) that the Lord has put there to guard the way to the tree of life.

1Jn 4:2  Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

This verse has nothing to do with anyone speaking physically that Jesus Christ came 2,000 years ago in the flesh.  It has a much greater spiritual depth and intended meaning and is speaking about Jesus Christ HIS BODY that lives in each generation and is His Elect.

Eph 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

It is only when we are given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God (the land within us) that we will be able to bow before the Lord knowing He is working all things after the counsel of His will.  Then we will come to understand what working out our own salvation with fear and trembling means, knowing it is GOD and not us that works in us to will and to way according to His good pleasure (not our delusion of free will).  And here ladies and gentlemen is an easy way to spot the deceiver in ourselves and in those that claim to know the Lord but do not.

1Jn 4:3  And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Those that are truly of God will have been given ears to hear this truth and eyes to see it in the Scriptures.  It is everywhere when your eyes are opened.  Here is how we will know who is in the truth and who is not in the truth and that is whether or not our words as God’s Elect are received by those who hear us.

1Jn 4:6  We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

The Lord is the one who first makes our paths crooked and then in due time comes to straighten them out.  He is doing it all, the first and the last and all points in between in our lives in these vessels of clay.  If you are so blessed to be His anointed, to be His Very Elect then these words apply to you.

 Isa 45:1  Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;

See that it is the Lord doing it all.  He holds our right hand (we are His workmanship, mere clay), He subdues kings (sins in our lives, false doctrines we believe), He opens the doors and gates into His Body and in our heaven and gives us ears to hear and eyes to see as His Two Witnesses.  And no delusion of free will or anything else is going to change that, the gates shall not be shut, His word will not fail to accomplish what is has been sent to do.

If we are Cyrus in this age, then the Lord will go before us to make our formerly crooked paths straight.  He will break all the flesh gates and carnal thoughts that have held us back and kept us in bondage in Babylon.

Isa 45:2  I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:

We will come to know He is the Lord when He brings judgment upon us and pours out His wrath on our carnal lusts and desires of the old man.  All things in our lives will be brought into this marvelous light.

Isa 45:3  And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

We will be dragged to Christ and His name will be written on our mind (forehead).  He is doing this to His Elect only in this age, the true Israel of God that Christ has chosen before the world was even formed.

Isa 45:4  For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.

Isa 45:5  I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

We will learn by abiding in this fire that is Christ, that there is nothing that happens that is not the Lord doing it.  He truly is the alpha and the omega and we will come to know this with every fiber of our being in due time as we mature in the true faith of God.  We will learn a new appreciation for what Lord means and the completeness of what sovereignty really means.  Apart from Him doing it, we ourselves can do nothing and are in fact clay in the Potter’s hands.

Isa 45:6  That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

We will be able to speak and show others that it was not them, but the Lord who caused all those pains and evils in their lives and they will see and believe verses such as this.

Isa 45:7  I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

And when a door to our inner heavens is opened to these truths, then the pure doctrine will fall from the sky and come to our earth and the crops and fruit of the Lord will begin to blossom within us which is the righteousness of the saints.

Isa 45:8  Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it.

When we continue to strive and not cease from our own carnal works, we will be judged.  That pothsherd (carnal mind) will be destroyed in time and we will no longer believe in any way shape or form the lie of free will that so deludes the masses of mankind.

Isa 45:9  Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?

Jesus is the first and the last.  He is both darkness and light.  He is everything.

Rev 1:8  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

The salvation of all men is to come.  It only awaits the timing God has already determined.  All things are of the Lord.  I trust this has given some some issues to ponder about the deep meanings of the word of God.

1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (His Elect).
1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Who Is Responsible For Evil?

Who Is Responsible for Evil?

This is a remake of an older article on the sovereignty of God focusing on the bad or evil things that exist and men do.   The absolute sovereignty of God is such an important truth it is useful to remind ourselves often as our own faith will be tested many times to see whom we are holding responsible.  All things are being lived and worked for God’s purposes in Jesus Christ.

Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

1Co 8:6  But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Jesus is the Lord of heaven and the earth, both the outward and the inward being Lord of ALL.  The flesh will naturally glory in itself and take credit for its own works be they righteous or unrighteous.  Being converted of these lies will take us a long time and many trials. The Lord has purposed our rebellion and all the evil we will do to teach us in due time.

Isa 1:2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me

Is the Lord just a terrible parent or is our rebellion part of His plan all along?  We don’t have to guess as the Scriptures declare the Lord’s sovereignty in all things even our rebellion. It is the Lord who turns men into destruction, into sin and away from His ways and then in the appointed times calls us back home to Himself.

Psa 90:3  Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

The Lord both turns us away into wicked things and also is the one who grants and causes us to turn back or repent.  He is doing it all.

Php 2:13  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

As we grow in faith, our understanding and application of God’s sovereignty in ALL THINGS is also growing proportionately.  Our doubting questions get answered in due time and we learn that we truly do nothing outside of God’s grip on us.  Yes, even the evil we do, our very sins are given to us by the Lord.  Everything from A to Z is the Lord doing it!

Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Rev 22:13  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

It is the fate of all men to first learn the “other jesus” by horribly underestimating the Lord and His sovereignty and exalting the role of man in the affairs of life and the world.  The story of Joseph being sold into Egypt by his brothers is a powerful lesson in how God works evil for good.  At the end the story Joseph tells his brothers it was not really them that did the evil, instead it was God who did it for good in the end.

Gen 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

The Lord works evil for good. Look at how powerful and expansive the one true God that only the Elect know who is not dependent upon his creation for anything.

Act 17:24  God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

Act 17:25  Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

Act 17:26  And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

Act 17:27  That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

Act 17:28  For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

The Truth of God working evil has always been right in front of us, yet we were blinded to see it until we are given the gift of faith and spiritual ears to hear and eyes to see. It is our ability to show these pivotal truths to those God brings to us that opens the eyes of a brother and sister and heals them of their spiritual blindness.  Let’s look at some of the black and white verses about the origins of evil.

Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

It does not get any clearer than Isa 45:7 but when we show most this Scripture they are dumbstruck.  But there are more, many more witnesses to this immutable truth.

Amo 3:6  Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?

Pro 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Lam 3:38  Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?

We will be hated for merely suggesting this most basic truth, yet there will be a few who are given to find the narrow way.  The Lord tells us He makes wicked people on purpose.

The Purpose of Evil

We must experience evil to learn about evil as indeed to become like God’s we must know both good and evil.  Knowing good and evil is of paramount importance for God’s Elect and why we are made to sin.

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Evil is used of the Lord to give opportunity to chasten us and to bring judgment, the very process and fiery grace that will save all men (Eph 2:8).

Ecc 1:13 (CLV) I applied my heart to inquiring and exploring by wisdom concerning all that is done under the heavens: it is an experience of evil Elohim has given to the sons of humanity to humble them by it.

Jer 2:19  Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

This truth is everywhere once our eyes are open to see it.  Who purposefully planted the tree of the knowledge of good and evil right in front of Adam and Eve?

Gen 2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Who conceived David and by extension all mankind in sin from birth?

Psa 51:5  Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me

Who added the crooked serpent to tempt Adam and Eve in the weakness of their carnal mind and sinful flesh?  Satan is the epitome of evil and look who made Satan.

Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made.

Job 26:13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.

Sending Forth of Evil Spirits

It is the Lord who commands and sends forth Satan and his messengers (evil spirits) to accomplish His will in our lives.  The story of Job is perhaps the best example demonstrating the Lord commanding the evil to work His work within us.

Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

Job 1:7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Job 1:9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

Job 1:10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

Job 1:11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

Job 1:12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

Satan and his demons are nothing more than servants of the Lord.  He is using them, His own creation, to bring about good and to accomplish all his good pleasure in our lives.  Let’s check in at the end of the book and see how the experience ends.   Evil was worked for good.

Job 42:11  Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.

Job 42:12  So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning ….

Here is a verse most have never seen and hate in defense of the false doctrines that God has nothing to do with evil.

Psa 78:49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.

Psalm 78 is not talking about the bad people out there. It is talking about ISREAL, God’s own people and you and me if we are God’s people.  The Lord sends evil spirits to His own people. The Lord is doing it, He is working all things for good in the end, even sending evil. This is the truth and you are blessed to remove the plank that represents the lie that God is not responsible and is not the author of evil, maybe you will begin to see the truth much more clearly. Here are a couple of more, but there are many others in the sum of God’s word.

1Sa 19:9 And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand.

1Ki 22:23 Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.

Jdg 9:23 Then God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech:

Who was behind the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ which was the most evil act of all time?  The Scriptures tell us the Truth that is was God who orchestrated the death of Jesus Christ.

Act 4:26  The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.

Act 4:27  For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

Act 4:28  For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

Many in orthodoxy (our ministry field) can easily believe that the Lord is responsible for tornado’s and hurricanes and outward things, but cannot make the connection about the inward events in our heavens and earth.  Evangelizing we learn quickly to wait on the Lord to bring us those prepared who have had their eyes and ears opened to receive the truth.

Pro 20:12  The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.

Psa 10:17  LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

When one is so blessed the concept of God’s sovereignty greatly expands and are given power over all the lies and false doctrines (spirits) and our spiritual healing begins.

Luk 10:21  In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

All Things Truly is All Things

We already shown the truth via multiple witnesses but know there are many more to support this pivotal truth that apart from the Lord we truly do nothing.  It is blasphemy to speak truth in an orthodox Babylonian setting and especially to suggests that man is not responsible for his own sin.  But what say the Scripture?

Isa 63:17 O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants’ sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.

Pro 16:1  The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.

Pro 16:9  A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

Jer 10:23  O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Psa 37:23  The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

The New and the Old Testament agree and truth (treasure) is found in both to prove via the sum of God’s Word what the Truth is (Psa 119:160 ASV).

Eph 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Rom 11:36  For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever.

The Lord made all things and works all things all the time. He is not a Plan B God that responds and reacts to the messes that man makes.  ALL THINGS means exactly what it says and as one grows in the truth faith, your boundaries of all things will continue to expand.

Col 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Col 1:17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Col 1:18  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Col 1:19  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

Col 1:20  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

When we read about Israel’s rebellion and doing evil against the Lord, we are reading about OUR rebellion and the evil we are doing.  The Scriptures make clear that Israel sin and rebellion was caused by the Lord.

Jer 32:42 For thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.

Living in the vine, the Lord causes things to bear fruit (good) and some to not bear fruit (evil).  But the point is, even the bad things are done in Christ and all work towards the greater good of bearing more fruit in the end.

Joh 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Rom 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

All things are caused by the Lord.  Whether it be our obedience unto life or our sinning unto death.  It is all His work in us and will all be used to teach and correct us in our day of the Lord which is our day of judgment.

Isa 26:9  With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Judgment is the true grace which is chastening us and teaching us the right ways of God in response to us first doing it the wrong way and disobeying.

Tit 2:11  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Tit 2:12  Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

The pouring out of grace (judgment) by the implanted truth was the promise of the New Covenant and how the Lord is working righteousness and causing us to obey Him.

Eze 36:27  And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

The Lord causes us to err and stumble in judgment.  In the same way a child learn by making mistakes and be disciplined, so it is in the spiritual and how we learn.

Psa 119:66  Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.

Psa 119:67  Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.

God raises up evil within us so God’s wrath (scourging) will rightly fall upon our old man and destroy the wickedness that is innate in our marred flesh (Jer 18:4).  The story of Nathan exposing David for his adultery is our story and our spiritual adultery will be confronted and judged when our day of the Lord has come.

2Sa 12:10 Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.

2Sa 12:11 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house  ….

These acts of the Lord are His mercy and are the wonderful works of God to the children of men (Psalm 107) that bring us to our wits end where we cry out for a Saviour.  Seeing the evil within and our need for a Saviour is a necessary prerequisite of salvation and the Lord’s mercy.

The story of Samson intermarrying with a forbidden Philistine is our story as are all the stories of good and evil in the Bible.  For brevity, we won’t cover that story but we are told the Lord did it so He could have the occasion to bring judgment upon our flesh and the Philistine nations and mindset within us (Luk 17:21).

Jdg 14:4 But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the LORD, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel.

God’s chosen people, His Elect and the Spiritual Jews are those being made righteous by His judgments.  Our trials and all the evil we are given to endure are working for the counsel of His will to remake us into mature sons of God.

Psa 34:19  Many are the EVILS (“Ra” not afflictions) of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Evil being manifest within us is necessary for us to be stripped of the self-righteousness of the law that we all find first in trying to perfect ourselves in our own strength.  But when judgment has come to God’s house, which house His Elect are, then we will not be able to stand and will come to see that we are the man of sin, an abomination and in great need of a Spiritual Physician.

Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

Ecc 3:18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

CONCLUSION

Contrary to Billy Graham’s famous sermon after 911, where he unequivocally said “The Bible says God is not the author of evil”, God most certainly is the author of evil as the Scriptures declare. If one is so blessed (Mat 13:17) to begin to see and receive the truth of God’s working all things, even evil things; then one is being made ready to lose their old way of life and learn a new one via grace.  The world indeed looks different viewed through the lenses of faith and the truth of the Scriptures.  We are being made into the image of Jesus Christ who knew what we are learning.

Joh 5:19  Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

We need to be wise with whom and how we share these truths not cast pearls to swine or engage with heretics. We also need to be prepared for rejection, persecution and false accusations that we are promoting sin with our doctrine.  Finally, even though God works all things even evil, we are commanded to strive and resist evil at every opportunity. The sum of God’s word makes clear we are to be careful to maintain good works and not turn God’s grace into lasciviousness and an excuse for living in sin.

Gal 2:17  But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

A servant of Jesus Christ,
