Beware Lasciviousness

boulder up hill

1Pe 4:3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

Walking with the same mind of Jesus Christ is how we overcome and are getting beyond the fleshly pursuits listed here by Peter.  Once we are chosen to suffer by the Lord and brought into the Truth and abide in the fire of the Body of Christ; we are no longer supposed to be living our lives the way the Gentiles (our former self included) live.

1Pe 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
1Pe 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God

Those precious few given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God can easily forget these warnings.  We have many reminders to stir up the truth and admonish and exhort us to beware of becoming slothful and lazy with regards to our battle with worldly lusts.  This sinful way of living needs to be put behind us.

Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Becoming a doer of the word and not just a hearer requires work as we will see. Jesus Christ did not come and is not still coming so we can continue to live in sin. He comes to set the captives (all men) free from our bondage to sin.  That is the very essence of what salvation is all about.

All of the Lord’s people will struggle with sin to some degree all the days we live in these marred vessels of clay. However the promise of salvation is we are being saved from our sins.  This comes little by little as the Scriptures declare and for good reasons that is to keep us from thinking we d0 it by our own strength and initiative.

Deu 7:22 And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

As we mature we must be able to look behind us and see progress being made as we are giving more and more dominion over sin. The Lord is surely long-suffering and this process takes far longer than we want in order to teach us patience.  Yet it is not a excuse to take a let’s eat, drink and be merry attitude.

Heb 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

All things becoming new include our old behaviors passing away in the Aorist Greek tense as the word is, was and will be working in our lives.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passing away; behold, all things are becoming new.

Not seeing that progress should be a warning sign something is amiss.  We must examine ourselves to see if we are really in the faith.  The grace of the Lord that scourges us and teaches us and ultimately causes us to obey the Lord (Eze 36:27) can be received in vain.

2Co 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

We receive such grace in vain, when we do not learn from our mistakes and the chastening the Lord brings for our sins.  If we fail to learn the lessons, we are doomed to repeat them and this will impede moving on to be a mature man in Christ.  There is a fine line between claiming ourselves to be the chief of sinners (which we are apart from Christ working in us) and to receive the grace of the Lord in vain.  To sit back and say the Lord is making you sin is being lascivious if we are not careful.

Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

The Lord sends us trials and delegates the tempting of our sinful flesh to the enemy in order to test our faith.  Those that fail get more trials and more grace until they get it.

Jas 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

Knowing what real grace is is of utmost importance for our progress of being saved.  Grace is what scourges us and the resulting chastening is what teaches us to obey with time and repeated “lessons”.  We must learn that our every disobedience will result in our just reward from the Lord.

Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Tit 2:11  For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,

Tit 2:12  chastening (training) us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,

Where sin increases, the suffering and chastening in the heat of His furnace increases.

Rom 5:20  Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, (scourging and fiery) grace did much more abound:

Still we are naturally brute beasts (Ecc 3:18, Rom 7:24) and it takes our entire lives to be fully delivered and we only ever receive it in down payment form until we are given our new spiritual bodies. We all fall victim to lascivious spirits that keep us in bondage to sin.  We need to be reminded of this and our need to get up and to get back on the narrow road and learn what went wrong and make changes in our walk.  To win the war we must (be given to) start and continue in winning the battles against our fleshly desires.

1Pe 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

Sin no longer should be ruling in our mortal fleshly bodies.  As our faith grows and actions are added to our faith and we (Christ rising up in us) begin to gain victories little by little.

Rom 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

This is a serious calling and a serious walk of faith that requires tremendous effort and endurance that the Lord will give us as we grow in faith.

Rom 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

We tend to focus only on the positive and not the negative aspects of the Word of God. It is a two edged sword and we need not forget either side.  Who wants to talk about sin and the chastening we are given in return?  Who wants to talk about us falling away and becoming a reprobate?  No, our flesh wants to rest and take it easy thinking knowledge is what it is all about.  We speak often to one another of the Lord’s Sovereignty in ALL THINGS but much less frequently of the battles and lessons REQUIRED to overcome sin and walk out our faith. We can’t misuse the sovereignty of God and use it implicitly as an excuse for our continued sinful ways.  We need to beware of lascivious spirits and remember we do not inherit the promises until we have done the will of God.

Heb 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

And what is that will?  We do not need to guess what it is.

1Th 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from (spiritual ) fornication:

Our turning grace into lasciviousness is not something we are done with after we leave the physical Babylonian churches.  We need to beware of carrying this spirit even while we are in the truth today.  Jude was writing to us, the Body of Christ, when he penned these words.  We best beware of “those men”, especially our carnal deceitful hearts that creep in unawares with a lascivious spirit.  It’s what flesh loves to do.  Like Jude, we need to exhort one another to be diligent which means careful to contend for our faith.  It is this lazy spirit of sloth and lasciviousness that wants to use God’s sovereignty and the salvation promised to all men to avoid the need to strive and labor in our walk of faith.

Jud 1:3  Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Jud 1:4  For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

We can have all the truth we want but if we turn it into lasciviousness, we are denying the Lord and His Power within us.  Jude reminds us what happens if we do not move on to maturity and stop our progress of overcoming sin.

Jud 1:5  I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

It is a mistake to not be exhorting each other over this battle with sin. We are far too quick to just say it’s the Lord and go about our daily lives.  Battling and contending with this spirit is never ceasing until the day we physically die.

Heb 3:13  But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Our learning comes by suffering and being chastised by our Lord.  But we cannot continue to pursue the same course.

Heb 12:13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
Heb 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

1Pe 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

We know we must endure to the end and we do that by fighting, striving and working.  It is the last days and we are warned what happens in those days in each of us and this is what happens, we have a form of godliness but denying  the power of Christ in us (thru our unbelief) to change us.

2Ti 3:5  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Being cautious of pinning all of our sins on the Lord and using that to justify our continued bad behavior is how a lascivious spirit deceives us. Sure He is causing it but He is doing it to His people so we will learn to stop doing it.  We are fighting to lay hold of the life promised and flee from those things that defile us.

1Ti 6:11  But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

1Ti 6:12  Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses

If we have issues with besetting sins, we need to be changing our behavior Lord willing to remove those things from our pathways.

Pro 22:3  A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.

At times we have humility but lack the fear that is so needed to bring us to obedience.

Pro 22:4  By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.

Guarding our hearts and the entry points into our life is required.  This is a serious matter requiring us to take ACTION.  Faith without these works are dead.

Pro 4:23  Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life…

Pro 4:26  Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

Pro 4:27  Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Contrary to the myths some apply to the Apostle Paul, he was not soft on sin, he warned every man and labored himself to the very end.

Col 1:28  Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Col 1:29  Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

We are to be putting off the old man and putting on the new man.  This takes diligent action on our part.

Col 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Col 3:6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
Col 3:7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
Col 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Col 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

This is working out our own salvation WITH FEAR and TREMBLING.

Php 2:12  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

We will never attain perfection in this life but we must beware the ditch on the other side of this narrow road.  Our entire life is the works of the Lord’ hands and no matter what we do,  it’s the Lord doing it.  Yet we must beware a lascivious spirit leading us away from fear and trembling at the Word.  If we stop striving diligently we are falling short.

Luk 13:24  Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

We will reap what we sow. If we continue to sow inequity to that disobedience (no matter what it is) we are also reaping.  We have heard these things before but we are not taking heed of these serious matters.

Heb 2:1  Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things (i.e. strive and work) which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

Heb 2:2  For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

There are no free passes.  Grace is not a wink wink and no punishment.  Sin will be recompensed.

Rom 2:6  Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

So don’t get me wrong here and this is not intended to discourage anyone, but rather encourage you.  We don’t save ourselves but I hope to instill in all of us a renewed respect and fear of the Lord.  When we do sin and it is brought to our attention we need to respond in faith.  We have seen people taken right out of the truth who failed to heed this and came to believe we are not to fear the Lord or tremble at every word.  We need to take seriously our sins and disobedience. When we fall down, we must take action and get right back up, Lord willing of course.  Unless we are given of the Lord to progress, and this takes WORK, we are falling short of the goal.

Heb 4:1  Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

So we must work and strive together to make our calling and election sure.  We need to add to our faith and our knowledge the things Peter mentions.  This is the only way we are made partakers of His Divine nature (i.e. saved from our sins) and escape the lusts of this world.  We can’t sit back and continue doing the same old worldly things and expect a different result.  That is called insanity.  We are moving on to maturity if the Lord wills.  The end of the matter is our obedience and this comes by ADDING to our knowledge and to our faith. This is how the DOING part comes about.

2Pe 1:5  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

2Pe 1:6  And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

2Pe 1:7  And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity (LOVE)

We are made whole with the Lord when we obey the commandments.  That is the end of the matter as it relates to what the Lord is doing with us, His pieces of clay.

Ecc 12:13  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole (duty) of man.

2Jn 1:6  And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

2Ti 2:19  Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Once the salvation of all men becomes the new reality and we realize we were lied to all our lives, lasciviousness is a common trap our sinful flesh and deceitful carnal hearts will stimulate in our lives.  Why strive to obey the Lord since all men will be saved anyway?  But there are many reasons for such a thing, beyond this post to cover.  But one thing is for sure such an attitude is immature and there is no fear of the Lord in one’s eyes who thinks such a thought.  We all will learn and our continuing to learn that Jesus Christ is not a minister for sin.

Gal 2:17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

So we must be very careful for thoughts that make it okay to justify our continued living in sin.  We are indeed slaves to sins when we start out.  But we need to stop being slaves to sin and become slaves of righteousness if we are going to make the cut for the first resurrection.

Rom 6:18  Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Rom 6:22  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Freedom is not free as the world likes to say and that is true in the spiritual sense as well.  There is a price to be paid (count the costs) and we work for our freedom from sin and that is by becoming slaves to righteousness.  We won’t eat and progress if we do not work for it ourselves. Without us being given the zeal to work, we won’t eat and thereby won’t grow in our faith and maturity.   A lazy spirit leads to lasciviousness and abusing the grace of the Lord.

2Th 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

We learn this by being judged, yet if the behavior does not change, we are not learning and more grace is needed to work righteousness within us.  The sooner we get this done the sooner we can enter into rest.

Wisdom is the combination of KNOWLEDGE with understanding that comes with experience.  Fear of the Lord is necessary to move us on to be Holy as our Lord is Holy.  Until we get over our lasciviousness we are not progressing and need to be retaught basic oracles of the Lord including fear.

Pro 9:10  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Wisdom results from this fear and that is how we learn the lessons and become wiser and wiser with the trials and temptations we are continually given.

Isa 33:5  The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.

Isa 33:6  And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

A lazy attitude will keep us from maturing and we will continue to learn over and over again the function of grace until we get it.  Under the law of true faith, Jesus is not a minister for sin, He will judge His people and this is how that works.

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

We will learn obedience by the things we suffer and the sooner we learn it the better off we will be.

Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

We learn to fear our physical fathers when our disobedience is punished and it is no different with our heavenly father.  In our day of abiding in the scourging grace we will learn to fear and we will be caused to stop our disobedience.

Heb 10:30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
Heb 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

The Lord’s people are fellow laborers who are striving daily to ensure and progress onward to maturity.  We like the Apostle Paul, continue to learn and appreciate more and more the warnings of keeping our sinful ways under subjection lest we be castaway despite knowing all the truths we know.

1Co 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

The doing part is the hard part.  We have to walk out our faith and becoming a true example to others.  Otherwise we cannot be used for the Lord’s purposes now or for the Higher Calling in the ages to come.  If we don’t overcome we too, are becoming reprobates. We are proving our faith by passing the test and trials that are given to us.

2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

We are warned about being deceived about this ongoing battle against sin.  Here are both John, Paul and Peter’s words written for our admonition.

1Jn 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Gal 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

1Pe 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
1Pe 1:14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
1Pe 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

It is those who overcome who will be given the Eight Promises of the Lord in the Book of Revelation.  Talk about a carrot, an incentive to strive and labor on this journey.  These promises are reserved only to those few that are being found faithful to the end.  Here are just the last three promises linked to overcoming (sin) that are cited.

Rev 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Rev 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

FAQS

Why does God give man commandments?

We will be known by our fruit

Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

To the natural man (aka the carnal mind) the ways of God are indeed foolishness.  Such is the case with the truth that the Lord does indeed give us commandments such as “thou shall not eat of it”. Yet in the wisdom of God these commands are given to us even though we have no free will of our own to obey those very commandments.  How can this be?

1Co 2:14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The spiritual truth is that God’s ways are different than the logic of our carnal minds which just proves that the word is true and that faith is indeed the gift that it is.  Without faith it is impossible to please the Lord much less believe in the Scriptures which is His Word.  Many know this verse but extremely few actually believe it and understand its depth and breadth.

Isa 55:8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.

The SUM of God’s word is the truth and not some of it.  Until the Lord opens a door to one’s heavens and gives them ears to hear they won’t be able to grasp the power of what Psalm 119:160 says.  But when one is given to understand it then look out as many false doctrines are fixing to be kicked out of God’s temple.

Psa 119:160 The sum of your word is truth, and each righteous ordinance of yours is everlasting.

It is essential we learn how to apply this macro principle.  Some of the Scriptures put together at the exclusion of others is not the truth but the lies that men build in their carnal minds and why we have 40,000 denominations in orthodox Christianity (aka BABYLON). That is where we all must first go and we are all guilty of making our own bread and creating these false doctrines and believing them.

Isa 4:1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

No prophecy of scripture is of its own private explanation yet the carnal mind will continue to be trapped by this principle until it is given ears to hear and eyes to see.

2Pe 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

A common carnal question, I partly addressed in my last post on Carnal Questions That Demand Answers was why does God find fault if we have no free will? Clearly free will is an insidious lie to anyone with ears to hear as the Scriptures declare in stunning clarity and repetition. But one must believe them to believe this most basic pillar of God’s truth.

The reason God gives us commandments is to seek an occasion against us for wrongdoing and thereby teach us righteousness thru His judgments.

Isa 26:9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Here is a link to a study by Mitch Kuhn on the topic of the Lord seeking an occasion.

We do not learn the true ways of the Lord unless and until our day of judgment comes. To the blessed few, that is in this life, in this AION (life).

1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?  (they will be judged too in their appointed times)

Understanding that judgment is the way we come to possess eternal (Aionious) life is fundamental to growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord.  Indeed that is the only way we will “then know He is the Lord”.   The Scriptures tell us over and over again that we will not know the Lord unless and until we live thru His righteous judgments against our sinful flesh and carnal mind.  I wrote a post highlighting the repetitive nature of this message we just can’t see when we are blinded by Babylon’s lies.  Here is the link to that old article that gave me great joy to understand.

http://truthinscripture.com/2012/11/11/then-you-shall-know-i-am-the-lord/

The very definition of Eternal Life is to know Him and the Father.

Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Living thru the wrath of God on our old man and carnal mind, as painful as it is, being tormented in the presence of the lamb and His Elect angels is a very good thing.  Wonderful for the new man and development of Christ in us, but a very bad thing for the old man who must be destroyed within us,

Psa 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

Psa 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

All the churches of men I grew up in taught that salvation meant avoiding all of this. Yet the truth be told, the exact opposite is the truth.  Nobody will ever know Jesus Christ until and unless they experience that wrath against their old man, carnal nature and innate lusts that make of these marred vessels of clay we first possess.  Here is a profound truth if one can receive it.

Rev 15:8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple (Into Christ), till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

So the answer to this age old carnal question about why we are given commandments to obey even though we have no free will is that this is the Lord’s way of bringing judgment upon us which is the way salvation comes to us in our appointed times.

Maybe now the dichotomy of these two verses which seem to conflict with one another can be understood.

Php 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Php 2:13 For it is God (not your free will) which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Maybe now one can begin to see the mystery of how the Lord works, how He causes us to obey Him by the scourging and chastening of His true grace.

Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

We are given commandments by the Lord and He knows full well we will not keep them initially and in doing so, judgment is brought against us and that is how we learn His true ways.  This Scripture applies to all of God’s Elect, His Christ in which Christ appears the second time for salvation apart from sin.

Heb 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Just to be clear, Jesus was made sin, yet without sin.  His flesh had to go just as our flesh has to go as it cannot inherit the kingdom of God.  Far beyond me to explain that here but please see these links if you want to know more.  Coming to understand the law of the offerings and what that typifies for us today is essential to grow into the fullness of Christ.

But to us that live in these marred vessels of clay, without the Spirit of God in us the ways of the Lord are indeed foolishness to our natural and carnally minded way of thinking.  If one has been given the spirit and the gift of faith then they will begin to believe the Scriptures, all of them and including this one.

Isa 63:17 O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants’ sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.

The Lord both makes us to err from His way (disobey) and He also causes us to obey, He the Lord indeed does it all if we only can believe it.

Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Eph 1:11
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

The depth of the riches of His wisdom and knowledge and judgments cannot be known by the carnal mind, they are only known when we are given to know the mysteries of the kingdom.

Rom 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
Rom 11:34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

The answer is no carnal man has known the mind of the Lord.  These things are hidden from the world and must be revealed to us, yea even the deep things of God.

1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

1Co 2:10
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Learning Good and Evil Requires Experience

The plan of God remaking the vessel of clay into a new vessel of honor, IN THE APPOINTED TIMES, requires us to learn good and evil. That is the only way we can become like God. We become this way via the process of experiencing good and evil and experiencing the righteous judgment of God.

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Ecc 1:13
I applied my heart to inquiring and exploring by wisdom concerning all that is done under the heavens:it is an experience of evil Elohim has given to the sons of humanity to humble them by it.

The Lord must cause us, He must give us this experience of evil for us to learn righteousness and become like Him. We must be shown our own innate wickedness and not just see it in others. To do this, He causes us to stumble.

Pro 24:16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

We cannot learn good and evil in fullness until our day of judgment begins and we hear the WORD which brings judgment upon our personal earth and heavens,

Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

This is why judgment begins at the house of God, the Very Elect in this age and everyone else will be judged later in the lake of fire at the 2nd resurrection. The fire being the word of God that consumed the adversaries of the Lord the day it begins to be heard and understood by spiritual ears and spiritual eyes.

Becoming like God is a blasphemous thought to the carnally minded.  Yet that is exactly what the Lord is doing and what this life and going thru our time of judgment is all about.  The word of God is an offense and stumbling-stone to the carnal mind yet hopefully a few will begin to understand what Jesus was saying and whose words have never passed away.

Joh 10:34  Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

Joh 10:35  If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

In order us to become like gods and learn good and evil, the Lord must give us many experiences both good and evil.

Pro 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

The Lord caused Samson to marry a Philistine, so He could bring judgment against them. He did this even though it was a clear commandment in the law of Moses not to do so. This concept of judgment and the Lord seeking an occasion is key to knowing God’s plan.

Jdg 14:3 Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.

Jdg 14:4
But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the LORD, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel.

So in due time for all of us, the Lord will seek an occasion to bring judgment against the Philistines that are living in your heart and mind (YOUR HEAVENS). This is how your old man will be decreased so Christ in you can be increased assuming Christ is actually in you.

All that any man does is ALL done in HIM. Our every thought, move and being is from the Lord.

Act 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

The things that do not bring fruit, (our dead works, our sins, etc.) are cut off in due time; but notice these works that get burned up and are taken away are still “in Him

Joh 15:2 Every branch IN ME that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Pieces of clay have no say so in what they are molded into by the Lord, He indeed works ALL THINGS.

Rom 9:20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
Rom 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

The Lord is truly the Potter and He is giving us commands and then remolding and shaping us, teaching us good and evil by His divine ways.  No man chooses to do anything else but what the Lord has determined to do.

Dan 4:35 All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven And among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand Or say to Him, “What have You done?“

There is just so much Scriptures that says this, even this one that reaffirms the plan that all will be saved because that is what the Lord has declared is His desire. We just must wait on the Lord to bring it about just as He has described.

Job 23:13But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

Such folly of the carnal mind to think it has free will that flies directly in the face of what sayeth the Scriptures.

Rom 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

The Lord is indeed “the Lord” and He need absolutely nothing from any of us.

Act 17:25  Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

Act 17:26  And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

So I pray this post has demonstrated the rhyme and reason of the Lord’s ways and doings.  He indeed is working all things for the greater good including creating and causing evil.  This is His MO on how He saves many people alive which will eventually mean all of mankind. Joseph’s brothers doing evil to him typifies how the Lord causes us to err from His ways and to rebel and persecute His Elect at first. But those evil acts, even our very sins are used in the appointed time to bring about good and the salvation of all men.

Gen 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Psa
90:3
Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

The Lord is the one who turns us into death and destruction so that in His timing He calls us to return and then brings forth Christ from within us.  This is the plan of God for all men and we just need to have the faith to believe it and wait upon the Lord.

Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

May the Lord give the increase to those HE has prepared their hearts to receive it and opened their ears to hear it.

Psa 10:17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

Your brother in Christ,  PETE

GRACE, judgment, Sovereignty

Carnal Questions That Demand Answers

carnal questions

Rom 9:18  Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

Rom 9:19  Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault?

When we are first exposed to the truth that God is sovereign and is actually causing ALL THINGS, yes even our very sins; we go crazy with all kinds of carnal questions.    This is quite natural and the process of learning the truth of God’s ways takes time.  It takes time for us to grow into knowledge of the grace of God and understanding His ways.  The ways of the Lord are far far different than the ways of  the natural man and indeed we at first think the truths of God’s word as foolishness.

2Pe 3:18  But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

1Co 2:14  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

We really have no appreciation for these verses until much time has passed and we have our carnality burned out of us.

Isa 55:8  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

Isa 55:9  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

The purpose of this post is to address a couple of those “carnal questions” as a follow-up to my post on God being responsible for evil in this world. Paul speaking of the true gospel and the salvation of all by faith thru grace was viciously rejected and scorned by the religious of his day. It has not changed my friends, these are experiences and the words of the Lord that we as God’s Elect will live in our appointed times. By preaching the salvation of all men nobody is suggesting or encouraging anyone to continue to do evil and engage in sin. Yet we like Paul, a type and shadow of all God’s Elect,  will be slandered and accused of doing just that.

Rom 3:5 But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)
Rom 3:6 God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?
Rom 3:7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?
Rom 3:8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

God’s Elect will never say any such a thing about sin. It is a false accusation that will come to all of God’s Elect. What we do say is that without the intervention of Christ into our inward heavens we have no chance of obeying God in the weakness of sinful flesh. We will speak the truth that when we do fall into sin or stumble that it is the Lord working that sin in us for His good pleasure and purposes.  That is the truth so very few are given to receive.  But what do the Scriptures plainly teach.

Php 2:13  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Isa 64:8  But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

Rom 7:17  Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

Rom 7:18  For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

While we are still abiding in Babylon, the harlot apostate churches of men that promote another jesus we will not be aware of our sinfulness.  The fact that we are still blind, wretched and naked is far removed from our spiritual vision.  We are blind as bats until the Lord opens our eyes and causes us to see and to hear His word.  We won’t know any of this until our day of judgment arrives and we are given eyes to see the abomination that is causing desolation and our need for a Savior is made perfectly clear to us.

Rev 3:17  Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

2Th 2:3  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;  (You, me, the old man within all mankind)

Joh 9:39  And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

While we are blind and held captive in Babylon, we will fool many that similar to us have the outside of the cup cleaned but inside are still full of dead men’s bones, walking in spiritual death and separated from God all the while claiming to know Him.  We may know him in the flesh but at this point we do not know Him in the Spirit.  Those that claim to be in the truth and teachers of the blind, are those for whom Christ saves His harshest rebuke.

Mat 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.

It is indeed by grace we are saved and not of our works or any delusion of our free will choosing God. God’s Elect will even be falsely accused of exalting themselves for merely speaking the truths that were GIVEN to them. Such is the narrow way and part of the cross we carry in our times.  We are not better than anyone, all men are sold under sin.

Rom 3:9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

But we do have one thing they do not have and that is the gift of faith.  This is indeed GIVEN to very few and with that gift comes the gift of spiritual ears to hear and eyes to see the truth of God’s words.

Mat 13:16  But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

Mat 13:17  For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Without further ado let’s look at the questions.

Question #1 – Let’s just live it up and sin like crazy

The first question of the carnal mind is that if all men are going to be saved, why don’t we just go ahead and live it up to the fullest. Let’s eat, drink and be merry is our most immediate thought.  I can’t tell you how many times this has been asked by those that believe the Lord is going to torment most of His creation forever without end.  An obvious rebuke of such carnal mindedness is to challenge the person asking this question why do they say they love God if they don’t have an overwhelming desire to obey Him?

Luk 6:46 “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?

At the end of the day, the love of God has a definition and that definition is based on obedience.

1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

When we ask these questions we do not understand or believe God’s plans for the ages and the purposes and function of the Elect. Yet without going into that in this post,  the primary causation we ask this carnal question in our walk is that we do not yet understand what God’s grace really is and its function.  We have yet to learn that grace is what chastens. Grace is what scourges us. Grace is the righteousness judgment of God against all our ungodliness.

Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Tit 2:12 Teaching (Chastening) us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Heb 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Heb 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

The word translated TEACHING in Titus 2:12 is the greek word paideuo and it means TO CHASTEN. So sure when we are chastened we learn so the word teaching is not that far off, but it does obscure the real meaning and waters down the point.

So we learn when we are taught, and we are taught when we are chastened. That is the function and purpose of grace, it is how we are CAUSED to obey God in due time.

Heb 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Being scourged is not fun. Yet that is what we are told the Lord does to every son He loves and receives unto Himself. We saw it above but it needs to be pounded home thru thick carnal minds.  EVERY SON God loves is scourged and that is actually a blessing because the old man must be killed for the new man to come forth.

Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

So when you understand all men are saved and if true faith has come to you, then judgement has fallen upon your house. You are now under grace and not the law.

1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

When this happens in our life, we will not take the attitude of let’s eat, drink and be merry. We will quickly learn that we indeed reap what we sow. DO NOT BE DECEIVED.

We will learn, be taught, when we are caused to sin and then God bring judgment upon us and we are scourged with great trials and afflictions.

Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you (BY GRACE) to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Grace MAKES us obey God in the appointed times.  It is how the old man is put away and the new man arises.

Psa 23:2  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

Once we know this and God’s ways, we should not think it strange when these trials come.  We should count them all as joy, knowing their purpose.

1Pe 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

Jas 1:2  My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Jas 1:3  Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

That is the purpose of the furnace, it is the purpose of the afflictions, that is the true grace of God in action. That is how the old man is decreases and the new man is increased in us. This is how the beast is destroyed by the fire that is the word of God.

Isa 48:10Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

Act 14:22Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Let’s keep in mind that fire is the WORD of God.  Fire is what saves us (baptism of fire) when it work in us and burns the sin and inequity out of our hearts and minds.  We are saved BY THE FIRE, yet Babylon teaches us salvation means avoiding the fire.  All men will be purified by the fire that is God’s word in the appointed times, which is our ordained day of judgment.  When grace is poured out upon us thru faith,  the old man is not going to make it much longer.  No man or beast can stand.

1Co 3:15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Mal 3:2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:
Mal 3:3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

The beast is no match for Christ and will be destroyed by the fiery grace of God.  So we will learn to truly tremble at the word of God, knowing of His absolute sovereignty. So the carnal reasoning that we will say let’s just go ahead sin so grace may abound is flawed. That is the last thing God’s Elect will be doing or teaching to anyone. We will learn that when we sin, the Lord simply turns up the heat. The Lord will simply ratchet up the grace dial and will keep on doing it until we get it. Eventually, we will learn to fear God and will be given the faith to stop sinning. That is how it works friends and it is a long process.

Rom 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
Rom 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

I guarantee you will not have the attitude of let’s sin so grace may abound once you are given ears to hear and eyes to see. When you understand free will is strong delusion you will be crying and sighing over all the abominations and sin committed in your spiritual house. Because you know this is against the commands of the Lord and you have the certain expectation of ongoing fiery judgment, there is no escape, we reap what we sow.

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation (IE GRACE POURED OUT UPON YOU), which shall devour the (inward) adversaries (of sin and rebellion)
Heb 10:30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
Heb 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

When you truly understand grace, then you will begin to be taught the fear of the Lord.  You will know that the Lord will have vengeance and you will get away with no sin.  If you sin, the dial on the furnace is simply increased.  Oh thank God for these wonderful works of God to the children of men,  they will teach you to fear God in due time.

Deu 4:10  Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

Isa 33:6  And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

These verses above from Hebrews 10 are used by many that are blinded to the truth of the salvation of all men. These are used to support the lie of eternal hell but what this is speaking about is the righteous judgment of God and that is the way we are saved. Understanding that salvation is the method we are delivered of our sins, meaning we no longer commit them and are given power to rule over sin is key. God’s plan has never changed, it was always the way we are to be redeemed and remade into children of the most high God.

Exo 6:6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments (MUCH CHASTENING GRACE, MUCH SCOURGING OF THE OLD MAN):

It is this process of having God’s wrath poured out upon our sins and inequities, i.e. GRACE that chasten, that teaches….. that we learn the fear of the Lord. We won’t learn this until we are in the midst of God’s Elect and the chastening grace of God’s judgment is upon His house. Knowing these truths about grace will eliminate any carnal thoughts that we might as well eat, drink and be merry.  It is indeed a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Now let’s consider a second yet related question our carnal minds focus on when hearing of God’s truths.

Carnal Question #2
– Then Why Does God Find Fault

The second carnal question is why does the Lord judge us and bring punishment upon us when He is the one that is causing us to sin.  Since He is the Potter and we the clay, why does He still find fault with us when we stumble? A very good questions which demands an answer and one we best know to walk the narrow way.

This section of Romans 9 addresses this question and provides the proper answer. We are told the Lord has mercy on some and hardens the hearts of others against His ways and His word.  Why does He then find fault since nobody is resisting God’s will. God’s will is being done all the time, we truly are the works of His hands.

Rom 9:18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
Rom 9:19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?

The Lord has a method to His seeming madness.  As I wrote about in the post Who Is Responsible For Evil,  our purpose in this life is to learn good and evil, that is a necessary step to become like God.

Gen 3:22  And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

When we complain and grumble to the Lord about what He is doing in our lives, we are contending with God.  He knows what He is doing and we need to have faith and to believe and know that whomsoever will wait on the Lord will not be ashamed in the end.  He will be faithful to His promises and will indeed finish the good works He has started in this age in the lives of His Elect.  We all like JOB will contend with the Lord but it is thru these very contentions that we will be judged and will learn the truth.

To convert us from carnal Christians to the new man that walks in the Spirit a lot of lies have to be burned out of us.  We have to learn that the Lord really is the Lord and that we of ourselves can indeed do nothing.  This is such a pivotal verse I often cite and I do hope you are beginning to get it.

Joh 15:5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

The real answer on why God finds fault is so He can bring judgment upon us.  It pleases Him to crush His sons, in the flesh and to destroy the old man and carnal nature of the first vessel made from the clay.  The Babylonian lie of the fall of mankind also is blown up by the truth of knowing and believing the Lord really is the Potter and has a two step process in store for all men.  The Lord has to cause your ears to be open to hear it.

Jer 18:2 Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.

Jer 18:3  Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.

Jer 18:4  And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

Jer 18:5  Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Jer 18:6  O house of Israel (God’s Elect)  cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

So Paul continues in Romans 9 and tells us the mystery of how Christ is formed in us and the old man is destroyed and the man brought forward.  This is the purpose of God finding fault.

Rom 9:22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
Rom 9:23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

Lord of Heaven & Earth

The purpose of God finding fault is to bring judgment and the purpose of judgment is to teach us His ways and to reveal Himself to us and remake us so that we are partakers of His Holiness.

Heb 12:10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

Flesh and blood is not entering into the kingdom of God.  Experiencing fiery grace is for our profit just as this Scripture tells us.  It must go and thus the requirement for all of us to be remade and go through the fiery judgment of God against our flesh.    During this process, we are going to learn that being Lord truly means He is the Lord of all things and most certainly the inward heavens and the earth that represent each of us lumps of clay made of the earth.

Deu_4:39  Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

Perhaps you can begin to apply these physical words in the spirit and look inside where the kingdom of God actually resides.

Isa_66:1  Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

1Ch_29:11  Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.

This process of judgment starts with the house of God (the Elect or the House of Israel etc) but all men will in due time learn righteousness when judgment is fallen upon them.

1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Isa 26:9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

It is a good thing the Lord finds fault, otherwise we would not learn His ways.  Think about how a child in the natural learns or we learn on the job.  We learn by doing, by making mistakes and being corrected.  It is no different in the spiritual.  When we fall down and sin, the Lord brings chastening which is judgment and that comes in the form of afflictions and tribulation.

Psa 119:71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

Act 14:22  Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

These judgments of the Lord bring afflictions to the old man and are necessary to destroy the beast and our carnal nature that puts, ME MYSELF and I as numero uno, all the while we claim to serve the Lord.  What will help align all Scripture is your coming to see that judgment is good, very good. It is the process by which we are changed into the likeness and image of Christ. Without it we could never learn obedience and let’s remember how we learn obedience.

Heb 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Psa 119:7  I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.

Christ, meaning His Body, the Elect;  all learn obedience by the things we suffer. This is the mystery of how Christ is formed in all men in their appointed time.  It starts with the Body of Christ filling up in the afflictions of Christ for the sake of the church.  This comes about by judgment and that is why the Lord is in the fault finding business, to teach us.  This is a great mystery, a secret that few are given the spiritual eyes to see and ears to hear yet it is right in our Bibles.

Col 1:24  Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:

Col 1:25  Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

Col 1:26  Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

Col 1:27  To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Whoever said the finished works of Jesus Christ on the cross means you don’t have to suffer and die is a liar and knows not the Lord.  Anyone telling you about a rapture and that you are saved from God’s judgment is blind as a bat.

Judgment is good, very good, sweeter than honey and it is how the new man is formed and the old man is decreased in all of us.

Psa 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
Psa 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Psa 19:11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Judgment is how we learn the fear of God and this is what causes us to obey in due season.  So God finding fault with us and bringing judgment is a very good thing.   Psalm 119 has many verses that tell of this mysterious truth.

Psa 119:39  Turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy judgments are good.

Psa 119:66  Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.

Psa 119:67  Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.

Psa 119:71  It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

With God’s judgment, comes afflictions and these are designed to benefit the new man.  Those wise in the ways of the Lord will come to see how the Lord works His mysteries and brings forth Christ in us thru much tribulation and afflictions of all kinds.

Psa 119:75  I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.

Psa 119:76  Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.

We may not know it now or feel joyful now in the midst of our trials and afflictions when our Loving Father brings His wrath and fury against our sins and wicked nature.  One day though we will be able to look back, once salvation has come to us and be very glad the Lord loved us enough to bring His wrath and anger against our sins. I just saw this gem over in Psalms.

Psa 90:15  Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.

Which also reminds us of what the purpose of this life is all about.

Ecc 1:13 I applied my heart to inquiring and exploring by wisdom concerning all that is done under the heavens:it is an experience of evil Elohim has given to the sons of humanity to humble them by it.

Some of these things are hard to understand at first so please ask if you have sincere questions.  The scriptures are not broken, they tell this wonderful truth from Genesis to Revelation.

The only way to come to know the Lord is thru the process of judgment. I have written extensively on this topic but if you will just search for the phrase “know the Lord” or “know I am the Lord” you will see the context is always, 100% of the time, the old man within us, the beast that all flesh is, being judged by having the wrath of God poured out upon us. Here is a link to an older post focused on that topic.

Pressing Onward To the Highest Calling of God

So I hope you can now understand the purposes of the Lord in finding fault when we sin and stray from His ways.  Even though He is the one causing it and working that in our lives;  it is by the process of Him bringing judgement upon us that we learn His ways and become like Him, knowing good and evil.  The Lord works evil for good and that really is the mystery of how Christ is formed in us and we learn good and evil.

Gen 50:20  But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

All men will go thru this process.  The only thing that separates the Elect is that we will be judged in this life while still in fleshly bodies.  We will experience our death to the old man and carnal mind first.  We will then be in the first resurrection and will be used to bring the rest of mankind thru the process of judgment at the second resurrection.  It is a very good thing that we be judged now, it is far better than being judged later with the rest of the world.

1Co 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
1Co 11:32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Far greater honor to be a priest and king of the Lord and to rule and reign with Him for the Millennium Reign and then be the judges of the world and bring the knowledge of Christ to all mankind.  That is why we press onward and upward for the higher calling of God.  That is why we as God’s Elect depart from inequity and strive to not be disqualified for such a great reward.  Here are three scriptures that speak of the critical role and function given to the very few that are God’s Very Elect.

1Co 6:2  Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

1Co 6:3  Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Mat 19:28  And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel (all mankind in the end)

Rev 20:4  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Biblical Truth

Observing Days, Times and Years

Birthday CalendarsJoh 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

Jesus Christ was hated by the same Jews (religious institution of that day) that sought to kill Him because HE did not go along with the church’s (the world’s) traditions regarding keeping of days and times.  In the Spirit hatred is murder and the word of God that does not pass away will be lived out by all generations.  This means that the orthodox churches will always seek to kill “Christ” and persecute His Elect for the same reasons Jesus was crucified. Jesus did not keep their holidays and had the audacity to call Himself the Son of God.  Such is also the call for God’s Elect.

Disciples of Jesus Christ are called out of this world and are not to engage and participate in the traditions and customs of unbelievers.  We are to indeed come out and be separate and it is seeming little matters like keeping of days that truly separate the people of God from those still in the world.

Gal 4:10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

Gal 4:11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

There is a reason Paul said this and rightly rebuked the Galatians for observing times like the world does.  He was rebuking their unbelief as we shall see.  Being separate includes not participating in the traditions and customs embraced by the world.

2Co 6:17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you

Col 2:8  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Keeping of days and years is a gigantic custom and tradition of the world.  I hope you will begin to see it.  I will be as blunt as I can.  Anyone keeping days, months, times and years is either:

1) not in the true faith or else

2) they are WEAK in the faith, a babe and need time to grow and mature.

Disciples of Jesus Christ are not to keep days, months, times and years. We are given many examples and warnings to not get entangled with worldly traditions and practices.  These must go if we are to move on to maturity and actually attain to that blessed and holy first resurrection.  We have to move on past the milk and becoming dead to this world is a necessary part of moving on.

Heb 6:1  Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Heb 6:2  Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Heb 6:3  And this will we do, if God permit.

This post is not to condemn anyone as we all are doing exactly what the Lord has us doing.   It is a narrow road with error on both sides and part of growing in Christ is learning how narrow this road is by navigating all the issues and circumstances that days, times, months, years and seasons present to anyone living in 2014.  I myself kept days and times like everyone else for my entire life so I am in no position to condemn anyone for what the Lord has them doing.  Yet once enlightened we must speak sound doctrine when given those opportunities and encourage those weak in the faith to move on to maturity.  Only a few shall attain to the first resurrection and it is my desire to be among the called, chosen and faithful.  So it is in that vein, seeking to know more of Christ and preparing myself to speak the truth on this difficult topic that I write this post.

Php 3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Php 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

Php 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Those weak in the faith will struggle in understanding God’s requirements of not keeping days and those outside the faith will not understand this doctrine whatsoever. The reason being is that to the natural “carnal” man the true things of God are indeed foolishness.

1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

If you don’t keep days and times, you will indeed be considered a fool.   Paul called our lives as being a spectacle (i.e. theater) to the world.  Yet we will know what God is doing and will count that a blessing.

1Co 4:9  For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

1Co 4:10  We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

There are no examples for God’s people to be keeping days, times and years like the rest of the world or even to keep the religious holidays of modern Orthodox Christianity.  There simply is no such Scripture.   In fact we have the opposite instructions being given, to come out of the world and not be conformed to its traditions and customs.

Rom 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1Jn 2:15  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1Jn 2:16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Everything to do with keeping of days and times IS OF THE WORLD!   Yet these facts don’t seem to be important to the Babylon churches that teach contrary to sound doctrine.

Without Faith and Knowledge of God’s Sovereignty

Without faith, the kind that is a gift from God, no man can please God.  Such a carnal mind will be at enmity with God.

Rom 8:7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

None of this is of our own doing.  We either have been given the gift and the ability to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God or we have not.  You either have the understanding given to or you do not.

Mat 13:10  And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

Mat 13:11  He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

So please,  criticizing and condemning those that keep days is also not the call of a disciple.  Without the God given gift of faith, it is impossible to know the truth of God’s word about days and times.  When we cannot believe of God’s absolute sovereignty we will detest the idea or anyone not participating in keeping of the worldly traditions of days and times.   To the carnal mind this Godly position will appear as some form of extreme elitism and very cultish.  The strong delusion of free will is the support beam of carnal logic that makes is perfectly sensible to celebrate days and years.  It will even seem to be the most compassionate thing to do, it will seem like love to be going along and keeping these days.  But the sum of God’s word, which is the truth says otherwise.  A recent post went into lengthy detail on taking heed of false doctrine and how serious God is about having it all purged from His temple.  The doctrine that says we are to keep these days and times and that this is how we love our neighbor is an insidious lie. Such celebrations implicitly give honor and recognition to men and exalt flesh.  For the few dragged thru the veil of flesh by God,  they will know that God really is the Potter and we truly are clay in His hands and thus keeping of days and times no longer has any place in our lives.

Eph 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

The celebration of any day over another day is a denial of how firmly in charge the Lord is in both heaven and the earth.  To God will go all the glory, He will not share it with anyone.

Isa 42:8  I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

He and he alone has already declared the end from the beginning and every day of our lives and the lives of all men have already been determined.  The days of our lives have already been numbered and established by God, so celebrating days and times is done in ignorance and unbelief on who the Lord is and what He is accomplishing in this age thru His Elect.

Isa 46:10  Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Act 17:26  And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation

Psa 139:16  Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

 Worry Not About Tomorrow

We are to not worry about tomorrow and focus on the now, the “is” part of Christ who is, was and will be.  Keeping days and times, and putting our energy and focus on them is disobeying Christ’s commands.  Think of all the plans that go into keeping of days!

Mat 6:34  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Pro 27:1  Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

Jas 4:13  Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

Jas 4:14  Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Jas 4:15  For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

Jas 4:16  But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

And here is the rub for God’s Elect who will come to know these truths and grasp the fullness that Jesus is Lord of the inner heavens and the earth.  If we continue to keep days and times we are doing evil and are in fact sinning.

Jas 4:17  Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

When one thinks of all the “days, times, months, seasons and years”, which we will cover below, it is amazing how consuming the participation in these affairs can be and yet they are all dung.  We have to give them up to win Christ.

Php 3:8  Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ

The spiritual man who understands this macro truth of Gods sovereignty will therefore cease celebrating them, honoring men and exalting flesh because we know it is all the Lord’s doing both the present, the past and the future.  When we go along with keeping days and times, we are showing weakness in faith and for most of us that will be sin.  Our participation in these events will only serve to sow unbelief in the hearts and minds of those we love.  It actually causes spiritual harm to our loved ones.

1Jn 5:3  For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

When we go along with the world, we are leading people astray from the truth of God’s word.  We are teaching them by example that it is okay to serve our God in the same way the world serves its god and idols.  No sir, that is not the way of godliness no matter if the carnal mind falsely calls it love.

Mal 1:7  Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.

Partaking of all these days and times and saying we are doing it unto the Lord is trying to eat at the Lord’s table while also fellowshipping with devils.  We cannot do this.

1Co 10:20  But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.

1Co 10:21  Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.

We create a stumbling block for others when we go along to get along and keep days and times.  When our families and friends finally hear the truth, our example of disobedience and rebellion to God’s commandments will not help them mature in the faith.  We may very we’ll extend their stay in the lake of fire as the lies our disobedience will take longer to purge from their heavens.   It is natural for our flesh to want to fit in and get along with our families and the world around us.   Who wants to stand out and be a spectacle and have the masses look down upon us?  We would never do this on our own strength or initiative, it is only thru Christ IN US that we are dragged out of Babylon and like Jesus begin to be hated and rejected of all men.

1Pe 3:14  But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled

1Pe 3:15  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

1Pe 3:16  Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

1Pe 3:17  For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

We need to walk right before God and not give the world reason to accuse us.  Blessed are we when we are persecuted for doing good and that includes not keeping days and times anymore.  It can seem so unloving to the carnal mind. Yet once one knows the truth then it becomes clear why we do not keep days.

Keeping Days Epitomizes The World

Jas 4:4  Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Partaking of worldly days and times keeps us centered directly onto worldly dissipation’s and events.  It leads us away from the cross and knowledge of the real Jesus Christ.  We can’t serve two masters and if we serve this world and keep its days and times, we cannot serve Jesus Christ.

Babylon holy days: Christmas and Easter are both abominations introduced by an apostate church based on pagan traditions. Disciples of Jesus will be given repentance from their past participation of religious days, especially and including days like Christmas and Easter which are really pagan holidays with a flesh Christ wrapper. This is doing what king Saul did when he disobeyed The Lord and brought back the goods from the Amalekites rather than utterly destroy them all and then justified it by saying he was honoring God. We do the same when we take these pagan customs and add Jesus name to them and therefore rationalize our rebellion. Christ said it is better to obey than to sacrifice. Here is a great teaching article by Steve Crook regarding Babylonian religious days.

http://www.iswasandwillbe.com/holiday-traditions/

Jewish Holy Days: These OT stories are all shadows of much greater spiritual truths that would come to Gods elect. Christ does not wants us keeping outward rituals in the flesh, these feasts all speak to Christ’s works us. Disciples of Jesus Christ certainly will not be celebrating or mimicking Jewish behavior and traditions regarding their false understanding of the purpose and meaning of the 7 feast days and the weekly Sabbaths. Those Old Testament Holy days and outwardly fleshly rituals were just a type and shadow to what would come with Christ, who has come. Types and shadows are not the real thing and anyone trying to keep Jewish Holy days outwardly does not yet know Jesus Christ and is yet carnal.

Our secular world has waxed worse and worse, the days are getting more evil as time ticks by. We have now made so many days, times, years and seasons, to market and promote the FLESH, the lusts of the flesh and exalt man and keep the hearts and minds of Christians focused solidly on the world. Besides the “religious days” just think of all the days and times that define the modern world.

Patriotic Days: There are many of these days in each country. In the USA we have off top of my head, July 4th, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Purple Heart Month. This one will make people hate you INSTANTLY, yet an ambassador of a country does not get entangled with the affairs of the country he or she was sent to be an ambassador to. If one is a disciple of Jesus Christ our citizenship is in heaven and we are not of the world. Let’s act like it and not do what the heathen do. Giving special honor and praises to those that kill our enemies and resist evil, the very things Christ said NOT TO DO is not honoring God.

Mat 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Special Days: Men and clever marketers have invented numerous days to honor and bring recognition to certain people, groups of people, roles and sexes. Since we all know someone in these categories of people, it gives rise for us to buy things or participate in events that focus on exalting flesh and sharing God’s glory with man. There are literally HUNDREDS of these special days and the list gets bigger every year. Here is just a sampling….

Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s day, teacher week, Arbor day, Flag day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Earth Day, Ground Hog Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Civil Rights Day, Emancipation Day, National Day of Prayer, D-Day, Pearl Harbor Day, National Aviation Day, Grandparents Day, Boss’s Day, Native American Day, School nurse day, disabled persons month, breast cancer month., THE LIST IS ENDLESS and MINDLESS

Birthdays: This is a big one and one of the harder ones to give up as it is so ingrained into society. Yet the scriptures are clear and the only examples of birthdays we have resulted in death. Birthdays exalt flesh and honor men and we are to give God all the glory and all the praise. The more people you know, the more birthdays there are to keep, presents to buy, cards to send, parties to go to, cake to eat. Social media has only turbocharged the allure of birthdays in taking our minds off of Christ and putting it on the world. Here is great teaching by Victor on the spiritual significance of Birthdays and their pagan origins.

http://tryingthespirits.com/2014-04/the-spiritual-significance-of-birthdays/

Anniversaries: People now celebrate and mark all kinds of anniversaries. Wedding days, end of war, days of death, graduation, job commencement, days of deliverance from alcohol, cigarettes, just Google it and you might be surprised. Again God’s people are not to partake of these things.

DID CHRIST KEEP DAYS?

Christ like us (His Christ) all did keep days up until the time His ministry began ,then He did not keep them any longer. Christ and His Body (The Elect) are reformers, and when all things are made new, it means all things are changed and that includes keeping of days, times and years.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Jesus Christ did not keep days, times, months, years, etc, and neither should we. Don’t fall for the lie of those that claim He did. He did not. In fact, the established church at the time hated Christ for two reasons: 1) He did not keep their days or feasts and 2) He had the audacity to call Himself the Son of God.

Joh 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

Not keeping the days, times and years is the quickest way to get those in the established church to hate you. They will call you all manner of evil for simply obeying God’s commandments. That is exactly what our Lord did and we as His Elect will do the same. Once His ministry began, Christ did not keep the Sabbath and broke it openly many times as the Scriptures declare. Despite what the Hebrew Roots proponents will want to argue, Christ did not keep the feasts either as John 7 makes clear.

Joh 7:8 Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come.

Joh 7:9 When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee.

Joh 7:14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

Going up in the middle of the feast to “teach” was not keeping the feast and under the Law of Moses required death by stoning. The point of all this being that as the BODY OF CHRIST, we will follow the Lord and like Him, will be hated and persecuted for not keeping the days and times of our generation.

1Jn 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

The Cares of Life = Dissipation’s of the World

Participating in all of these events is focusing on WORLDLY THINGS. These are earthly dissipation’s and involve the cares of this life. The things we are admonished NOT TO BE INVOLVED WITH. Engaging and tracking all these days and meeting the expectations of lustful and earthy beasts that all men are, will suck up your time, energy and focus and take one away from doing the real work of the Lord.

Luk 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

To Babylonian Christians we will indeed be spoke evil of just as Scripture foretells.

1Pe 4:4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

Not participating in these days will get people to hate you as fast as anything. One does not even have to say anything. You will be spoken evil of just for refusing to participate. Yet gods elect should expect this, this is part of the cost we should count knowing it will cost us everything.

2Ti 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

2Ti 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Getting entangled with the world goes way beyond keeping of days yet it certainly includes being bound by all these worldly traditions. Christ was always about His Father’s business and so shall the Body of Christ do the same.

Luk 2:49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

As HIS ambassador we are not to be entangled with worldly days and times. We will suffer for doing so but that is the mark of a true disciple.

Eph 6:20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

That is what is supposed to happen when we are called out of this world (the church) and come out of her my people. The old man is dead and is going thru the process of being crucified daily, dying to this world. We will no longer run after the things those still in the world so highly esteem in feeding the flesh.

1Pe 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

1Pe 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

1Pe 4:3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

We will be hated for standing on the truth of God’s Word. So be it. We will have to learn to stand in this fire and not revile back at those that hate us. This is where I am at for the moment.

Joh 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Joh 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

I am learning to say Father forgive them because those reviling truly know not what they are doing and neither did I until the Lord had mercy.

Joh 15:21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.

People kid themselves, this stuff, the keeping of days, times, seasons and years consumes TONS of time and focus and all this does is serve the beast and makes us an enemy of the cross, unwilling to lose our life to save it, and keeping one firmly planted in worldly affairs. A disciple is not to mind these earthy things any more, we are to put them away and turn our focus on heavenly things.

Php 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Commandments and Warnings on Worldly Traditions

We are NOT to be conformed to this world and its ways. Keeping all these days is conforming to the world, which really means to the ways of the Babylon church as the church is the world.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We are commanded to clear the land, to utterly destroy it and wipe it clean of all this earthly clutter. This command of God is found clearly in the Old Testament, all ensamples unto us God’s Elect on how to live today. Here I will quicky review a few examples yet know there are so many anyone that can read Scripture can’t miss them.

Deu 7:1 When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

Deu 7:2 And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:

Deu 7:3 Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

Don’t get hitched to worldly days and the ways those in the world serve their gods and idols.  Engaging in keeping days, months times and years will keep one snared into the thing of the world. Our weak flesh will have no chance to not be snared by the gods and idols of the flesh and those that walk not after the spirit. Doing so will keep us luke warm for the Lord, maybe head knowledge but our growth will be stunted.  King Solomon certainly did not heed the wisdom of Moses and later we saw his many wifes lead him into idolatry.

Deu 7:4 For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.

Deu 7:5 But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.

Burning these worldly idols with fire leaves no room for tolerance and accepting them in our lives. We deceive ourselves when we call that loving our neighbor and we ignore the definition of love given in 1 John 5:3. We have a higher calling as God’s Elect. We will be distinct from the world, otherwise we can be sure we will not be in the first resurrection. I can’t speak for any of you, but that is the upward call for God’s Elect that I pray I will always strive for and endure this struggle all the way to the very end.

Deu 7:6 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. Deu 7:7 The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:

The land that is given to God’s people is our hearts and minds, the heavens. These lands must be cleared of all things that defile, that is how we are sanctified. God is quite serious about utterly cleansing the land and keeping nothing alive from the days of the flesh and ruler-ship of the old man in our life. Anything we let linger that served the beast will be a snare for us and will cause us to stumble. We must take seriously the commands to get rid of all those traditions and idols that the world (Babylonian church) relishes. Birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, traditions, all of them must go.

Psa 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

EVERY DAY becomes a day the Lord has made and let us rejoice and be glad in it, knowing GOD is working every bit of it. That is faith.

Exo 23:31 And I will set thy bounds from the Red sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee.

Exo 23:32 Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.

Exo 23:33 They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.

As God’s Elect, we are separate from the Levites (Babylonians spiritually) who serve the tabernacle in the flesh but cannot eat at the table of the Lord. We are given clear commandments, not to allow these Levites (claim the name of Christ but do not know Him) to entice us to make our offerings in just any old way or place.  These things in the OT are examples given to us so we would know how to live for God once Christ has come to us.  These are not history lessons.

Deu 12:12 And ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you.

Deu 12:13 Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that thou seest:

So what this mean practically, is we don’t take a worldly tradition and put the name Jesus on it and then say it is alright and represents worship to God. The Lord calls it an abomination as there are clear rules as to how we are to bring a sacrifice (our worship) to the Lord and it is always to be undefiled. Worshiping Christ by keeping days, times and years is refusing to come out and be separate. Don’t fall for the carnal doctrine of love that says it is okay, it is not okay if one strives to be a doer of the word. Lastly here in our Deut 12 examples, we are given strong commands to not serve our God they way Babylon serves their jesus. If we do it is an abomination to the Lord which He hates.

Deu 12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.

The unbelieving world and carnal church keeps all these days. God’s Elect are commanded NOT TO ALSO DO IT.

Deu 12:31 Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.

Deu 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

AVOIDING PERSECUTION:

So I hope some of you struggling with this doctrine on days, times and years will gain clarity on the truth and understand why the more mature brethren in the faith have overcome the allure of these traditions and have placed obeying God before pleasing of men. The truth is an offense to the flesh and carnal mind. Those yet carnal will be at enmity with the true things of God’s word.

Act 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Making the gospel sweeter by taking away the reproach and the rejection and persecution by our families, friends and the vast majority of the people is a temptation of the flesh and carnal mind. Those disciples Christ is actually using will put God first and speak the truth in boldness and fear not the opinions of men.

1Th 2:4 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

1Th 2:5 For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness:

We have to come out of Babylon FULLY or else we will be ongoing partakers of her plagues, which is the false doctrines of compromise and tolerance that define Babylonian definitions of love.

Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

The heart of men is deceitful above all things as Jeremiah 17:9 tells us. It is much easier to go ahead and keep these days like the world does as it takes a lot of pressure off us and allows us to fit in with the world much easier. It avoids persecution and rejection by the crowds when we go ahead and partake of these days. It makes the cross much lighter and much easier to carry. Yet it is a deception and a snare that will keep us from going on to maturity. It will stunt our growth in Christ. The fact is God’s Elect that will be found worthy to be in the First Resurrection, will be hated and rejected of all men.

Luk 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.

TOLERATING THE WEAK

I would be remiss if I failed to end this post without admonishment that we are not to take these truths and run out and become evil judges of hearts. It takes time to mature into the faith and move on past the milk and be able to bear the persecution that comes with not keeping days and times. Romans 14 is key Scriptures that tells the mature to tolerate the weak but do not let the weak teach or lead others in the Body to abandon their strong meat of not keeping days in order to fit in with this world. These Scriptures tell the mature how to handle the weak, those that still may be keeping days, times and years in their walk, unable to give them up and suffer the rejection and persecution giving them up brings to God’s Elect.

Rom 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

Rom 14:2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

Rom 14:3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

So yes we let those that keep days and times do these things in our fellowship knowing they are still babes. We do not allow them to bring the false doctrines they still cling to into the fellowship and teach those things as truth.

Rom 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

Rom 14:5  One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

Rom 14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

So do we let the weak esteem one day above the other?  Yes.  We endure this with patience and let God do His work in bringing them on to maturity. But these Scriptures do not negate the sum of thy word, much of what I have shared in this long post regarding the keeping of days and what the mature man of God is to do.  We are to receive our weaker brothers and sisters but not to doubtful disputation.  So we will not let them teach and lead others astray in the fellowship.  And we would apply the principles of Matthew 18 in such cases which as a new babe in Christ I saw played out and the word of God demonstrated to me in action.

We have a wonderful promise for those given to obey God and come out of this world.

Exo 15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

GRACE, salvation

Where is Boasting? It is Excluded

bluesky1 COR 16:13-14 Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.  Let ALL that you do be done with love.

There is so much false religion that is not love.  This falling away from the truth is the sign of the end times.  There is so much deception it is unbelievable for those whom God has awakened and given eyes to see it.  We must be circumspect in these darkening  days and guard our hearts because it is easy to be caught in the web of man’s traditions and carnal logic.  Indeed most have been captured and caught by something religious and stay in a spiritual prison.  It is only by the grace of God that we can ever see anything spiritually or even have a heart for the things of God. I am going to share some things that I have been shown, which if you see them clearly will shake to the ground and expose the false religion most of us have pursued.  This may come against some strongly held beliefs you may have and yes some of them can be defended by picking and choosing thru the Scriptures, but they are lies and will keep you in bondage and from producing the fruit of love and righteousness.

First off you need to get past the claim and secret boast that you saved yourself.  Few will expressly say this, but very many implicitly claim it in their message and ministry.  This is wrong and shows they still have not grasped the wholeness of the  true gospel.  They just cannot see it, YET.  It is a fact that only God saves.  It is by His sovereign choice and election.  Oh yea, we got things to do once we are chosen,  but we should never ever puff ourselves up and think we are somebody because we know the Lord or a few Scriptures.

To Him goes ALL the glory!  Men will want to argue this “free will” issue till the cows come home but as it relates to initial salvation, we have no free will and can never reason it is because of our deeds or actions or will that we have come to know the Lord.   God is the mighty Savior, not men.  A dead person without life in the Spirit cannot choose to seek after God.  Good luck trying to explain these Scripture away as many have tried:

John 1:12-13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,  who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God

John 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day

John 6:37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me

John 14:16 You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain

Romans 3:10-12 There is none righteous, not even one;  There is none who understands, There is none who seeks for God; All have turned aside, together they have become useless; There is none who does good, There is not even one.”

Isaiah 64:7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.

Romans 9:15-16 For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.” So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.

This could go on and on as this is the truth shown from Genesis to Revelation.  But you get the picture I hope.  We are the clay and HE is the potter.  None of us seek after God or find God on our own initiative.  This is not a defense of Calvinism which I have issues with and am not a follower.  So if you want to accuse me of that be my guest but I hope you will read the rest of this and take it to God first.  Salvation is of the Lord.  This is a core gospel truth that man has cut out to justify building the church by the work of their own hands.

Jonah 2:9  That which I have vowed I will pay. Salvation is from the Lord!

Men need to quit boasting for being smart enough to save themselves.  Men need to quit condemning others that do not yet have eyes to see.   The people of God must quit being led by the spirit that is the accuser of the brethren.  This is all spiritual pride that is hidden deep into the hearts of many.  We must cleanse our hearts of all such filth to walk in newness of life and bear the peaceable fruit of righteousness which is love.

There is a huge log in all of our eyes that must be plucked out before we can see.  When our ministry and walk is all about pointing out specks in others and focused on finding fault, you can be sure, you still have a huge log in your eye.

I say this out of love, having been the worst of such offenders.  But there was no true inner peace.  The peace of God will never live in our heart when we are walking with a spirit of condemnation and judgment.

Many pretend obedience to the Lord and can spout off Scriptures right and left on holiness and godliness.  Yet they are far from true godliness.  They have a form of godliness yet inside are full of dead men’s bones.  They know who they are and don’t really need to be told by any of us.  The word of God itself will convict them and their lack of confidence before God should be a big clue.  But this was me as indeed I was living as a hypocrite and claiming to love yet being nothing but an evil judge clanging a gong.   What defiles a man lives and lurks on the inside.  We must come to judge ourselves in this regard.  It is God’s will that each and every one of us be sanctified and cleansed from all of this impurity that defiles and secretly tries to steal God’s glory.

Our walk with Jesus Christ is all about getting the living WORD planted deep inside of hearts and letting it transform us into the image and likeness of the Lord.  This is the mystery of godliness.  It is God’s work to do, He is the one who performs it, we just must submit to Him in faith.  So many have been deceived by the god of this world who has corrupted the simplicity and purity of our devotion to Christ.

Love God and Love your Neighbor – this fulfills the whole Law

But as we begin to cleanse ourselves of our sins by submission to the Holy Spirit and suffering in the flesh; be watchful for the enemy who will tempt you into taking credit for your goodness, intellect and faith.  It is not you my friend; it is God as only God is good.  This is how the enemy eats up the good seeds and the plant grows and is cursed as a fig tree bearing no fruit.  It is GOD working in you to both will and to do.  Give Him all the glory.

Phil 2:12-13  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

It truly sickening to see the fulfillment of Matthew 24:5 about all the deceivers being played out in real-time on the Internet and the various social media.  The false prophets and false teachers are too numerous to even count anymore.  I truly need to clean up my life and mark those that cause such division and shun them.  That is our instruction on how to deal with false teachers.  So many like I did have morphed into evil judges and know not the origins of their faith and salvation.  They are storing up wrath by such actions by not walking in the way of the Spirit.

If you have been blessed by the Lord and shown the truth I speak of above, you will be a lot more humble than you once were.  Spiritual pride is instantly vaporized when exposed to the bright blinding light that is the love of Jesus Christ.  This gospel of Jesus and Him Crucified, will expose the hypocrisy and feigned humility of all religious activities that are not grounded in true agape love. This is a God kind of love that loves even when not deserved with no expectation of favor or return.   It seems so many of us have forgotten this:

Romans 5:8  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us

Who are we to boast?  The only boasting we can make is that we know the Lord and even that only by His grace.

Jeremiah 9:23-24 Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches. But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.

The disputing, criticisms, judgment, gossiping, backbiting and accusations will only stop when one comes to see the truth of salvation. Those still in the flesh blinded by the god of this world that do not see this glorious gospel in its fullness cannot help themselves.  So we should judge them not on this as it is by God’s will only that they shall see.  It is by grace we have been saved and the faith we need to access that grace is a gift from God.  We don’t decide to have faith.  A spiritually dead person does not decide to seek after God.  It is all the work of God.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that (the faith) not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast

Even the very faith that starts our walk is a gift from God.  Our boasting as Paul wrote in Romans 3:27 must be excluded and have no part in our ministry.  So many are taking credit for their faith and being evil judges and accusers of the brethren.  They think they serve God but it truly is sad.  I am not mad at them,  I pray God will give them mercy and open their eyes to this deception so they could understand the love of God.

My purpose here is to make the point that it is the Lord alone who saves not any man.  We have things to do to choose to act upon this faith and we will indeed bear the consequences of our obedience (blessings) or disobedience (curses).  So we must choose wisely and serve the Lord who has chosen to save us through His divine gifts.  Thank you Jesus for giving us a measure of faith.

Romans 12:3  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

ACTS 13:48 Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed

God decides who is saved now.  But in the end always planned to show mercy to all.  I will no longer be pointing fingers and accusing.  Instead I will be preaching the gospel.  That is  the good news of Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.  It is not up to me or you to save anyone.  That is the choice of an almighty God.  Jesus does build His own church.  I know I will be hated and spurned for the gospel that is a promise in the Scriptures.  But we must press on and work in the field God has placed us leaving the vengeance and judgment to Him.  I hope we all come to unity in the faith, the simple child like faith that saves us and not let our pursuit of knowledge or selfish ambition make us evil judges of hearts.  We best heed the Apostle.

James 4:11 Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. 12 There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?

My prayer for all that do not know the Lord or are living in sin and helpless to overcome is that the Lord will have the same mercy on them as He did on me.  We will indeed be judged by the same measure we mete out to others.  If you want these blessings of God, then you better be sowing them.  The measure of a true disciple of Jesus Christ is this.  I have made it very large on purpose.

John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another

How did Jesus love us?  Did He go around condemning sinners? Did Jesus kick people when they were down?   No,  as we saw up above He died for us while we were yet sinners. We should encourage holy living and the putting off the deeds of the flesh but most that do this are doing it with a spirit of condemnation and spiritual pride not in agape love.  Their motive is wrong.  I think the example of the woman caught in adultery is a good one for us to follow.  What Jesus did condemn and rebuke was religious people acting proudly with external forms of godliness that had not the love of God in their heart.

A true Born Again person will have this desire planted deep in their heart by the Spirit of God.  The love of God will compel them to live righteously and godly.  And when we fall down or stray, the Spirit of God is going to be right there to correct us and chastise us and bring discipline and wrath if we continue in our disobedience.   But you see this is the work of God, not the work of men.  Let us live for God and not for ourselves.   Don’t misread this as of course we are to correct brothers and pull specks out of eyes and wash their feet, but we do that gently, with humility, with love as our only motive.  When we act that way, it is God doing the correction working thru the Spirit of God that is inside of a true believer.

Prostitutes and tax collectors were already entering into the Kingdom of God, 2000 years ago.  The kingdom of God was near, at the very door Jesus said even way back then.  My friends, I hope you enter into that door that is Christ Himself. God forbid you become a Pharisee and not enter in nor allow others to enter in to this spiritual kingdom.  Jesus will return one day soon and all of us will stand and be judged according to our deeds.

John 5:28-29 Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, 29 and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

The Scriptures tells that many will be astounded and that faces will melt in fear and horror when some realize their religion was a big fat deception (Isaiah 13, 1 Thess 5).  We must be judging ourselves in this regard and inspecting our fruit of righteousness.  I urge all to be looking at this litmus test and not camp around your intellect or Scripture knowledge or good deeds you have done in the past.  Jesus said we will know them by their fruits.

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Do not grow weary in doing good.  But please quit the boasting and remember where you were  — dead in your sins and trespasses until God showed you mercy and saved you.  Now we are to go and do likewise to others.  Remember who does the saving.

ACTS 2:47  And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved

 May God Bless You Richly
