Commandments

Be a Peacemaker

Blessed are the Peacemakers

A peacemaker is willing to yield and bow to the Lord’s ways.

Mat 5:9  Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Peace is the opposite of war or violence. Christ is the Prince of Peace, and we enter into His rest, being peacemakers, when we cease engaging in the accusing and excusing mindset of the carnal mind. We have been set free from the bondage of the law of sin and death and are now blessed, pursuing and making peace with all men being a faithful witness of Christ.

When we focus on the commandments, the Living Christ, the Prince of Peace, keeps us in perfect peace as we are dead to sin and the bondage of the carnal mind that is set at enmity with the ways of the Lord.

Isa 26:3  Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Resting and abiding in peace is following Christ’s example. When Christ was accused, He did not respond or retaliate to any provocation. Christ answered nothing back or He answered with the Commandments, showing He was dead to the world and alive to God.  Christ made His grave with the wicked, being dead to their provocations and temptations. This is peace.

Isa 53:9  And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

The new man born of the Spirit is no longer under that law and now abides in peace, standing in the Commandments, walking by the Spirit.

Rom 8:6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

When Christ is raised in us, the violence of the carnal world is no longer heard in the Promised Land within.

Isa 60:18  Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

When Christ returns to us for salvation, the end of the law for righteousness IS come.  We, former captives, are set free from our bondage and cease doing evil and instead pursue the peace of Christ. These are the blessed making peace.

Jas 3:18  And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
