Meeting the Lord of Heaven and Earth

Key Verses:  Amos 3:1 – 3:8

The Lord wastes nothing in His plan of salvation and working all things for the council of His will. He uses the revealing of our spiritual nakedness (the depth and breadth of our sin) to drag us to Himself. We flee to the mountains of Jesus Christ when we see ourselves as the abomination of desolation (Mat 24:15-16).

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

This is how we are made (caused) to flee from our old life as we begin to meet the Lord and His Christ in the Spirit which begins to transform our minds (Rom 12:2).

The mind of Christ comes by instruction (1Co 2:16) and that by our hearing of the Word. This is the same process as the vials of wrath poured out into the air by the angels of the Lord.

Rev 16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

Rev 16:18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

We begin Amos 3 with our hearing the words of the Lord and knowing of our calling and election as His children being transformed by judgment.

Amo 3:1 Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,

Amo 3:2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

Amo 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Amo 3:4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?

Amo 3:5 Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?

Amo 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?

Amo 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

Amo 3:8 The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?

There are nine rhetorical questions asked in these verses with the number nine symbolizing God’s judgment on man (Number Nine Study). A rhetorical question is a question asked in order to produce an effect or make a statement rather than to elicit a specific answer.  The Lord is not lacking in any knowledge. Indeed, the sum of the word tells us that the Lord knows all things (Eph 1:11, Psa 139:16) and is working all things for the counsel of His will.

Heb 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account

1Jn 3:20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

Psa 147:5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

Eze 11:5 And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them.

We see this dynamic with rhetorical questions first play out in Genesis chapter 3.

Gen 3:9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

Gen 3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

The Lord asked these questions of Adam not because He did not know the answer but to show and to teach Adam important lessons about ourselves and our walk and standing with God.  The Lord asks these questions to teach us His ways as we seek out the answer.

2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

As we grow in righteousness by judgment, we learn more every day there is no happenstance in the Kingdom of God. Nothing is by chance and whether we are deceived (Job 12:16, 2Th 2:11) or we see the truth (Joh 9:39, Mat 13:11) that is 100.00% the Lord’s work. Whether we see, eat, endure famine, walk, sin, obey and breathe; whatever it is, the Lord is doing it!

Act 17:25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

Act 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

The answer to each of the rhetorical question is NO or NOBODY, as they are phrased in the KJV version. Each of these questions and the “NO” answers are designed to open up our heavens in realizing what being Lord means and the extent of the Lord’s hand in every detail of our life. The fact is there is NO DETAIL that is outside the Lord’s sovereignty. This immutable truth that we have no free will outside the will of God, is what takes us a long time to embrace and turn into action in our earth.  This is what we are to pray.

Mat 6:10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

The more we are caused to submit and obey the more we grow in understanding.

Isa 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

We meet the Lord and begin to come into agreement with Him, when we begin to walk with Him in our judgment. When Christ in us is lifted up as a living sacrifice then we know Him and that He is truly the Lord of the outward and our inward Heaven and Earth.

Joh8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

Act 4:24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:

Transforming us into the image of God is by the process of judgment. We have to walk with the Lord on a long journey (finish the race) to reach the goal of maturity.

Amo 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed [H3259]?

The mind of Christ grows within us as we eat the true Bread from heaven daily which is our dying daily to the flesh. We can’t serve two masters and be in the will of God (Mat 6:24).

Eph 4:17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

Joh 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Living by every word is doing His judgments which is how eternal life and possession of the land (salvation) is given to us.

Deu 5:33 Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.

Joh 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

Joh 10:28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish…..

While it is true people cannot walk together, at least peacefully unless they be agreed, I see the translation of the word “agreed” as an error. The word for “agreed” in Amos 3:3 is H3259 and is only once translated as “agreed”.

A more precise way of saying Amos 3:3 is can two or more walk together unless they meet or assemble/gather together. The answer to this rhetorical question of course is no! One cannot walk with someone they have not met and do not know. So if you want to know Jesus Christ we had better be walking with Jesus Christ. And who is Jesus Christ?

Eph 5:30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.

We are meeting the Lord in our day of the Lord as we abiding in the BODY OF CHRIST which is where the everlasting burnings are found (Isa 33:14-15). This is the only way and the only place to walk with the Lord. It cannot be done alone. Here is an OT witness to the same.

Exo 25:2 And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.

Exo 25:21 And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.

Exo 25:22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

The mind of Christ, the coming into agreement with the Lord and His NARROW way is made known to us by our abiding in the church (The Christ of Jesus Christ).

Eph 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

Exo 29:42 This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.

The Lord causes evil to bring about good and to save many people (all mankind) at the appointed time (Gen 50:20, Rom 8:28). The two-edged sword confirms the positive and negative of every word and that the light and the darkness is the same to the Lord (Psa 139:12). We need to answer these questions correctly to begin walking in agreement with the Lord.

Amo 3:4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?

These questions are written like all Scripture in parables and symbols. Sure there is an outward truth about the Lord’s absolute dominion over lions and birds and all their activities as well. Physical birds and spiritual birds (doctrines, spirits, the fowls of the air) both do not fall to the earth apart from the Lord’s will.

Mat 10:29 (CLV) Are not two sparrows selling for a penny? And not one of them will be falling on the earth without your Father.

Jer 22:29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.

Via these questions, the Lord wants us to see and come to understand in our judgment, that it is HIM doing everything. Billions read Joh 15:5 that says “apart from Jesus Christ we can do nothing”, but so few actually believe that all of our steps, not just the good ones are ordered by a Sovereign God.

Jer 10:23 O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.

Psa 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.

Even His elect that are given to know these things, will not believe this until it is proven to us time and time again via the process of judgment (Pro 24:16). We come to believe and our faith grows as our understanding of His rulership in the kingdom of mankind is expanded in our day of judgment.

Dan 4:35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

Isa 44:24 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

The lion that roars over its prey is both the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Rev 5:5) but also our adversary the devil, who walks around seeking whom He may devour (1Pe 5:8). So whether we are caused to sin and be overcome or in due time given to overcome and walk in obedience, all the lions of Scripture will be roaring over their prey.

The Positive

Num 23:24 Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.

Rev 10:1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:

Rev 10:2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,

Rev 10:3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.

The Negative

Isa5:29 Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions: yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and shall carry it away safe, and none shall deliver it.

Rev 9:8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.

The Lord works ALL THINGS, the good and the bad, even our sins and our obedience. We  are the works of His hands in all facets.

Eze 20:37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:

Rom 9:16  So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Amo 3:5 Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?

It is the same things with birds and gins (snares/traps). Spiritually speaking we know that birds and the fowls of heaven are doctrines. Like lions they can be positive and negative being evil spirits or the truth. The Lord has created all things and is working all things and His work does not return void (Isa 55:11). That Word is causing birds to be snared when there is no snare (gin) put there by the works of mankind.  The Lord is the Lord and His will is accomplished in the earth.

Psa 24:1 A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

The Lord creates the birds (spirits, doctrines, truth, lies) and it all works for good which is the salvation of all men in the end (1Co 15:22).

Gen 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Gen 1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

There is a time for birds to be snared and a time for birds to be un-snared (Ecc 3:1) all working the purposes of the Lord in the life of every man.

Rev 18:2  And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

Rev 19:17  And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

Jesus Christ is always working (Joh 5:17) and that work always works for the council of His will (Php 2:13) and never fails to accomplish His purposes.

Amo 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil [H7451] in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?

The purpose of judgment represented by the trumpets being blown in our inward cities is to teach us the fear of the Lord. The Lord is causing evil in the cities to turn those He is working with in each age back to Himself. This is part of the strange act (Isa 28:21) and the devised means the Lord uses to bring about His will and save all mankind.

2Sa 14:14 For we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect any person: yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.

It is judgments that save and only those in the Body are judged now in this age (1Pe 4:17, 1Co 11:31). The trumpets that the angels of the Lord blow in the city is bringing us to maturity and what teaches us the fear of the Lord.

Psa 34:11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

Isa 33:5 The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.

Isa 33:6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

The evil in the city certainly applies outwardly and is an obvious part of all things notwithstanding Billy Graham’s infamous sermon after 911 that was a bold-faced lie saying “God is not the author of evil”. He most certainly is and the Word gives zero room for any dispute. It is as much a part of ALL THINGS (Rom 11:36) as the good things.

Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Pro 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

It’s not just for the bad guys only that the Lord sends or causes evil.  It is all evil and that includes His dealings with His own people, you and me if we are God’s elect and the true Israel of God.

Psa 78:49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.

Jer 32:42 For thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.

Job 42:11 Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and everyone an earring of gold.

Our day of the Lord is a day of trumpets and of evil just as Job experienced for our edification.

Mat 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

It is when these spiritual trumpets are blown that we are seated with Christ in heaven and the manifold wisdom of the Lord is poured out in our minds (heavens).

Rev 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

Amo 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

I have misused this verse in the past and I repent of that. The Lord most certainly DOES NOT tell us beforehand what He is going to do specifically.

Mat 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Jas 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanishes away.

We only come to see and to understand the details of the Lord’s action in our lives when we look behind ourselves.

Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

Joh 12:16 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified (Christ in us revealed), then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.

We would not be able bear it all if He showed us the trials and suffering we would be required to pay. We would be unwilling to pay the costs and instead would make peace with the world (Luk 14:31) which is remaining at enmity with the Lord. Human beings grow to maturity slowly over many years and we are only asked to do what we are capable of doing.

Joh 16:12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

What verse 3:7 really says is that everything the Lord is doing in judgment is to bring about the revelation of Jesus Christ within us. This is the purpose of judgment and how we come to know the Lord. This secret is revealed to His prophets, by His prophets, which are His elect and ministers of grace.

Rev 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

Heb 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

Christ in you, the hope of glory, is the mystery that is being declared in His prophets by His prophets. Said another way, it is the revelation of Jesus Christ by Christ.

Rev 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

Mat 13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

This mystery is indeed a secret that is hidden from all carnal eyes and ears but only to the elect, the precious few chosen with ears to hear and eyes to see, is it being revealed.

Col 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Isa 45:3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

Coming to see and apply His Sovereignty over all things via judgment is how we learn and grow in the faith.  Our last verse contains the last two questions for the hearer of the Word.

Amo 3:8 The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?

Abiding through our judgment we will answer these nine rhetorical questions as we examine what the Lord is doing in us and walk circumspectly.  With Christ in us, there is a roaring lion within and this is what teaches us the fear of the Lord and turns us into fellow prophets.  The roaring Lion of Judah will teach us the fear of the Lord and establish a testimony within us according to what He has given us.

Rom 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

It is the House of God, His Elect, who are judged first and thus are used to do the greater works of Jesus Christ (Joh 14:12) and that by our testimony.  The spirit of prophesy is the testimony of Jesus Christ that comes from the Body of Christ.

Rev 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Psa 78:5 For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:

Next week we will pick back up with verse 8 and finish Chapter 3 as the ambassador is sent to the publish the good news to the heathen nations within and without ourselves.

The Heavenly City of Truth

los angeles 2

Los Angeles means the “city of angels”. I have always had a great attraction to LA not knowing at that time what angels and the city of angels is actually referring to in the word of God. Now I know why I always loved “LA” as in the spirit there is a real city of angels. I have been blessed beyond explanation to be brought into the gates of this spiritual city.  This spiritual city is full of lights and is very bright spiritually yet appears as darkness to the carnal mind.

Exo 14:20  And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

Psa 139:12  Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

The gathering of the saints happens in this spiritual city.  Only those dragged to the Lord and appointed to be in the city will be there, all who enter must have the covering of the Lord Jesus Christ and be written in the Book of Life. Walking in the light of this city is in fact what saves us.

Rev 21:24  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

Rev 21:25  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

Rev 21:26  And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

Rev 21:27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

I am going to speak about this city and hopefully show what this city represents and who is in this city now and who will be in this city in the future.  These are extremely important points and the biggest blessing one can attain to is to be in this city of angels here and now in this life in these bodies of clay.  God’s Elect dwell together in unity in a spiritual placed called Mt Zion.   This is a city with several names and is the Jerusalem above.

Zec 8:3 Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.

The symbolism in Scripture hides these wonderful truths from carnal eyes and ears.  But the Lord reveals these truths and gives His Chosen ones the ability to hear and understand the heavenly language that is spoken in the city of angels, the city of our Lord.  This is the real LA,  sorry Los Angeles, but the city of angels speaks to God’s Elect and our fellowship in the Body of Christ. It is a blessing given to so very few.  How few continues to amaze me yet the Scriptures tell us this in stunning clarity if only we could believe them.

Mat 13:16  But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

Mat 13:17  For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Make no mistake, as amazing as this city is,  we all had to be dragged there and all have no appreciation for the blessing that had been poured upon us until we lived in this city for quite some time.  I have been so blessed and grown tremendously in just a few years and now have great hope for what lies ahead despite the wickedness and evil that is running rampant in our physical world.

Ultimately all men and all eyes shall be in the city of the Lord where the great King rules.  I hope these Scriptures help make alive the message of hope and peace that only comes when we are planted firmly in this city of truth, the real LA in the Spirit.

Psa 48:2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

Isa 33:20 Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.

Isa 52:1 Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

That city Jerusalem in the modern nation of Israel has nothing to do with the city I speak of and the one spoken of in the Scriptures of being the heavenly city, where the angels of God dwell.

There is no free will involved in entering into ZION.  It is all the work of God.  Like I said, we must be dragged against the will of our flesh and carnal mind.

Jer 3:14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

Mic 4:10 Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.

Reading Jeremiah 29 and Ezra for example we see clearly who puts us into Babylon and then who causes us to come out of Babylon and into this city but only in the appointed times.

Jer 29:14  And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

Ezr 1:5  Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem.

All men will one day see this city and will enter into it.  But for now, it is only for God’s Very Elect who in fact make up and are this city.  This city is also the bride of Christ, it has many roles and function and is represented by numerous symbols which I will defer to a later post Lord willing.  John’s vision in Revelation speaks of seeing this city come down out of heaven and remember, heaven is within you, it is not some planet in outer space, the kingdom of God, including heaven is WITHIN YOU (Luke 17:20-21).

Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

The scarcity of how few are chosen continues to amaze me.  We can only come to appreciate the blessing that has fallen upon us, without any merit on our part, and it must be given to us to live in this city in this age while yet in a vessel of clay.  This truth will be nonsense to us all until we have walked in the fire and the light of Mt. Zion for some time.  The heavenly city of spiritual Jerusalem is a type and shadow for the true church which is the Body of Christ.  Like our Lord, we are sent to represent Him and be the light unto this dark world.

Mat 5:14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Heb 12:22  But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

Heb 12:23  To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

This is the church, the called out ones that are of one mind by the same Spirit of truth that lives in us all.

The meaning of the word ANGELS

The words translated as angels in our bibles also mean messengers. A simple word search in esword will quickly confirm this fact. For example the Hebrew work MALAK occurs 212 times and is translated “angel” and “messenger” almost interchangeably as the KJC reflects.  I hope you are given the zeal to search out the truth in the Scriptures.  To properly divide them, it takes much research and more importantly God given ears to hear.

Pro 25:2  It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Assuming you are a king of the Lord and one of His Elect, let’s see what the word angel really means.

An amazing amount of deception exists in Babylon, simply from their failure to see God’s angels for what they really are. Can’t go into those details here but I will tell you, it is the brethren, it is the very Elect of God who will camp around us when we are in this spiritual city and fear the Lord. We are delivered, which means salvation when we abide in this heavenly city. God’s Elect are the real guardian angels contrary to what we are taught in Babylon.

Psa 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

While the Lord does have spirit being angels like Gabriel, in the vast majority of places where angels is referenced it is really speaking about God’s Very Elect, His Angels and His Messengers. It is thru HIS BODY that the Lord works.

This truth is hidden from carnal eyes and helps to hide the truth of God’s word and cloak the fact that God’s Elect are the angels, the ministers of fire that speak His word and do the works as Jesus Christ the Body.

Heb 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

Jer 5:14 Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

Of course we have to also know that fire is not literal fire and wood is not wood and embrace the Bible in spirit and learn comparing spiritual to spiritual just as we are told.

1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

The carnal mind cannot do this, it always falls in the trap of comparing physical with spiritual and misses the main point and perverts the way of truth and creates false doctrines as a result.

The angel of the Lord is Christ.  Yet Christ works through His Body and  upon which HE is the head.

Joh 20:21  Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

Jesus Christ considers His Body as Himself, it is through us that He works.

Act 9:4  And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

Act 9:5  And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it ishard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Please don’t accuse me of claiming I am the head Jesus Christ but do not mock my boldness to say I am the Lord’s, I am a part of His Body.  Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!

Psa 107:2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so

The messengers of God are His angels and they speak THE WORD that brings fire and judgment upon our sins and carnal nature, when we are given ears to hear. It is God’s Elect who bring the seven last plagues to man which destroys the old man and brings light out of the darkness.

Rev 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Rev 15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
Rev 15:6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.
Rev 15:7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

In type and shadow, we appear to those the Lord sends us and we speak the words of fire to ears that now hear and hearts that have been prepared to receive the word that is Christ.  This process devours spiritually the lies of Babylon and the wisdom of Egypt.

Exo 3:2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

As Christ comes, so do His angels to set the prisoners free.

Act 5:19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,

Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

The Lord has a heavenly city in which He dwells. He has been in this city ever since He ascended into the clouds.

Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Act 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Act 1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Act 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

and Christ has been returning into these same clouds that carnal eyes cannot see ever since. Christ lives in His people, who are His temple and that is where He resides and we if we are God’s Elect are seated with Him now.

1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavens in Christ Jesus:

Luk 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
Luk 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Eventually every eye shall see Him in these clouds, but for now only the Elect have been given that blessing. Anyone thinking outwardly, looking in physical clouds is not getting it and are yet carnal thinking of Christ IN THE FLESH.

Luk 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Carnal babes that believe in the rapture again are thinking physically in the natural and know not that the air refers to meeting Christ in the Spirit being one mind. A topic for another post.  Only few there be shall find the way in this age. The blessing of God’s Elect comes to so very few and the multitudes resent and look down upon their brothers who have been given this coat of many colors by the Lord.

Gen 37:3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.
Gen 37:4 And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.

The Elect are the apple of God’s eye. The gathering of the saints is the assembly of the heavenly city and the great cloud of witnesses that make of God’s chosen few.

Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

The scarcity of how few, few really means is not evident to us until we have been walking in the fire for some time.  The heavenly city of spiritual Jerusalem is a type and shadow for the true church which is the Body of Christ.  Like our Lord we are sent to represent Him and be the light unto this dark world.

Mat 5:14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

1Jn 4:17  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Those in this spiritual city are the firstfruits unto salvation who will follow our Lord being born again by the Spirit.

Rom 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

1Co 5:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.

Jas :18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Rev 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

The highway of holiness that FEW are given to find is only entered into on Mt. Zion. Foolish carnal minds will not enter in. The messengers of God will be gathered to Zion and sing spiritual songs of joy and we will be filled with the joy that only comes from know Jesus and His Christ.

Isa 35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

When we are redeemed by living thru God’s judgment now, we will be brought to Zion and will be singing the new song spoken so often about in the Scriptures.

Isa 35:9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
Isa 35:10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

I have been seeing the role of the BODY spoken of in Scripture in many more places. We being Sion/Zion are going to be the saviors that judge the world in righteousness if we make the first resurrection.  That is what we strive to attain to Lord willing.

Rom 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Oba 1:21 And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.

When Christ first comes to all of us, we will stumble over the ROCK. But ultimately that rock will fall upon us and grind us to powder.

Rom 9:33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Mat 21:44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

There is a clear purpose in what the Lord is doing in all of our lives. It is a blessing to begin to understand His ways and purposes having the mind of Christ. When the Lord drags you to Himself, He is going to drag you to HIS CITY OF ANGELS. You will be brought to Christ who lives in the heavenly city today.  You will be brought to Mt. Zion and enter into the Holy City of Jerusalem above.

Oba 1:17  But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.

Joe 2:32  And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

This city of truth is the Body of Christ in each successive generation.  Jesus Christ is come in the flesh and is building His church and placing His saints in the city of angels.  I hope this has blessed a few that have been given to understand these mysteries of the kingdom of God.

ALL MEN WILL BE IN THE CITY IN THE END

The city of the Lord will eventually encompass all men.  The last enemy of Christ to be overcome is death and then all men shall be alive and abiding in the city of truth.  Here is this prophesy even in Jeremiah which precedes the details of the new covenant in Chapter 31.

Jer 31:38  Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.

Jer 31:39  And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath.

Jer 31:40  And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.

This city is His people,  for now the very Elect but ultimately it will encompass all men as all flesh shall see the salvation of the Lord.

Isa 26:1  In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.

Speaking for myself I love this city of righteousness.  I LOVE LA; which in truth and in spirit is Jerusalem Above.
