The Wonderful Day of the Lord

There is a day spoken about in Scriptures much more than any other day.  This day is so central to salvation and the message of the gospel a refresher is always needed.  This little flock has been washed with water, we have been prepared for true baptism of Christ which will be and is destroying all carnal mindedness within us and ushering in true and lasting righteousness.

Mal 4:5  Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

The great day of the Lord is what comes afterward and what truly converts us into doers and not just hearers of the Word.  It takes fire and the second coming of Christ which begins this great day in our heavens and our earth.

Mat 3:11  I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

It is only through a fiery furnace that our new man Christ in us is emerging as the overcomer.  Our carnal and sinful ways are being burned up through this “day” which is our day of judgment otherwise known as the lake of fire which is the Second Death and wherein death (carnality) will be destroyed and along with it, the works of the devil (Heb 2:14-15).

There is much more to come than what we learned from the church in the wilderness from which we have now come out of [Rev 12:17].  Our baptism of fire has come and is coming, and we need to be prepared and reminded that our enduring this is how we obtain the greatest prize of all, knowing the Lord and having His mind.

1Co 3:13  Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.

1Co 3:14  If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

1Co 3:15  If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

The Lord’s Day is not a Sunday or a Saturday or any outward day, it is a spiritual term referencing the age or process by which all men are transformed in the image and glory of Jesus Christ.  This study is intended to show just how pervasive this “day” is spoken about in our bibles via many different symbols and terms.  The day of the Lord for every man is the same day as “judgment day” that is making all things new through the consuming work of the fiery word of God burning up the wood hay and stubble [our carnal works] within the hearts (earth) and minds (heavens) of His people.

2Pe 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which, the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Isa 2:12  For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

Like all words, the term “the day of the Lord” is part of the two-edged sword (Heb 4:12) meaning there is both a positive and a negative application; depending on whether the old man or new man is in view.

To the carnal mind, the Scriptures with these seeming discrepancies of good and evil veil the truth and have led to all the orthodox denominations and speculative theories about the truth regarding judgment and the day of the Lord. The truth is hidden behind the letter of the words and only revealed to the precious few GIVEN the understanding and keys to the kingdom (Mat 13:11).

There is a wide range in the language used to describe the day of the Lord and its other synonyms.  We are told, on one hand, the Lord’s coming will be a great light (Isa 9:2) and very bright (2Th 2:8) yet, on the other hand, this day is also said to be very dark.

Amo 5:20  Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

The carnal mind has a tough time seeing the Lord as both light and darkness, yet He is all those things and is working all those things (Rom 8:28, Isa 45:7) for the greater good of His people.  To the new man given eyes to see and ears to hear, Christ who is His Word is light. But to the other side, the old man, the carnal mind, those same words, and same Christ is sheer darkness.  Yet it is all the same Word it is all part of the Lord’s work in His people.

Exo 14:20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

Psa 139:12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

Example of Babylonian Delusion

Here is a comparative table that is taken from a “Christian website” that sees the two sides of the same sword as being truly different days for different people.  This is the way most Christians see it with only those evil people over there experiencing the wrath of God. They don’t know the thing they deny is what will save them [i.e. the Lake of Fire and Second Death]

The Day of Christ is distinct from the Day of the Lord as daylight is to dark. The first is a time of great anticipation, joy, blessing, and reward. The second is a time of terror, wrath, dread, and woe. A stark contrast exists between these two days. The chart below outlines the differences.

Day of Christ Day of the Lord
For the Church (the Body of Christ) For rejectors of Christ
A day of blessing and reward A day of judgment
A heavenly hope An earthly despair
Eagerly anticipated Feared and dreaded

The truth is these days are one in the same exact day! The day of Christ is the day of the Lord, there is no difference.  Our judgment is the blessing and the same event also blessing and rewarding us.

Isa 1:27  Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.

2Co 5:10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

1Co 3:15  If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

All of God’s people come out of Babylon [Rev 18:4 – Come out of her my people] which includes outward orthodoxy but also spiritual Babylon within our hearts.  We learn wrongly in Babylon that the day of the Lord and us dying in the lake of fire is only for those evil people out there. Such carnal thinking and filtering of Scriptures by the letter vs the spirit has us avoiding the very thing we must embrace and hasten unto if we want to be like Christ.

2Pe 3:11  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

2Pe 3:12  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

2Pe 3:13  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

The day is a Great Day!

The day of the Lord is a GREAT DAY because it is the day during which we are being saved as we live through and embrace the chastening and scourging our Lord is pouring out.  It is a great day because the Lord is being exalted within our hearts and minds, Christ is being raised within us!

Zep 1:14  The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

Zec 12:9  And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

The enemies of the Lord within us, our old man, the beast, the false prophet, and Satan and all his lying demons are being destroyed in this great and terrible day of the Lord. What a wonderful work of God to His people beginning with the Elect in this age.  So much for the false rapture theory and it’s look-alike lies that have its believers taking themselves completely out of the Book of Life by denying the day of the Lord is for them.  All that we knew is being turned dark and destroyed with the brightness of the Lord’s coming. Our old ways are being replaced with His ways and His righteousness.

Rev 6:17  For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Isa 26:9  …. for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

The Day of the Lord is the best thing that happens to us. It is the day, the time during which we come to know the Lord having His mind and being made partakers of His holiness.  His Word won’t fail to perform!

Joh 14:18  I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Joh 14:19  Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also [when He lives within us]

Joh 14:20  At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

We are living this day out when we are drinking the wine of gospel which is the blessing to the new man and the wrath to the old.

Mar 14:24  And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

Mar 14:25  Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

Seeing the two-edged sword with spiritual eyes, the inconsistencies about judgment are being cleared up.  “The day” is a great day but it is also a terrible day for the old man and our carnal mind.

Heb 10:31  (NLT)  It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Psa 66:3  Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee [this is salvation, all enemies under His feet]

This great day of the Lord is even known as the day of evil because the coming of Christ shines light (truth) onto all the hidden evil within us.

Pro 16:4  The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked [the marred vessel – Jer 18:4] for the day of evil.

Jer 2:19  Thine own wickedness [evil] shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee …

It’s also known as the day of vengeance!

A jealous God is saving us for His namesake (Eze 36:22-23) not our own.

1Co 3:16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1Co 3:17  If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Such destruction is the fate of every man that comes in that same day also known as His day of vengeance.

2Th 1:8  (NKJV) in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Rom 12:19  (NKJV) Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,” says the Lord.

Vengeance against the old man is what Christ has come to proclaim and is the entire premise of the glorious gospel.

Isa 61:2  To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

It is a day of troubles and many tribulations

The day of the Lord signals the transition from the present evil age into the age of judgment when men are remade in the lake of fire.  It is only through much trouble any man shall enter into the kingdom (Act 14:22).

Eze 7:6  An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come.

Eze 7:7  The morning is come [Christ has come] unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near ….

Zep 1:15  That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

Rev 7:14  And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

This Day is the Wonderful Works of the Lord

It is only through faith we can “fear not” the things the Lord is doing in our lives.  This will be the greatest trial men will face in these clay bodies.

Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Trusting in His promises we are looking forward and asking Him to Come more and more in our life in that day knowing the process is what is savings us.

Rev 22:20  He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

So, while all orthodox Christianity teaches the day of the Lord (aka the Lake of Fire) is to be avoided and something happening only to those sinners over there but not to us, the truth is the Day of the Lord is a wonderful time for the new man.  It is our enduring the process that God requires to call the light out of the darkness and bring forth the new man, the Lord from our heavens.  They are one and the same known as the wonderful works of the Lord to His children.

Psa 107:24  These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.

Psa 107:25  For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

Psa 107:26  They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

Psa 107:27  They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end.

Psa 107:28  Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

Psa 107:29  He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

Psa 107:30  Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

Psa 107:31  Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! [repeated 4x in Psa 107 alone]

The storm and trials the Lord puts upon us may not feel at times to be wonderful when viewed from a body of flesh.  Yet to the spiritual man and he who is overcoming they are becoming known as marvelous works as we look behind and see our salvation.

Rev 15:3  And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

Mat 21:42  Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

Gathering Together Awaiting our Day of the Lord

The time of the coming of the Lord inwardly in the hearts and minds of His people is known only to the Father.

Mat 24:36  But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

An outward day is coming when this world and its evil nations will cease to exist.  Yet that day is already appearing within us as the fire is being turned up as this gospel is preached and believed in every nation within us.

Mat 24:13  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Mat 24:14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Rev 1:3  Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand [the day of the Lord and the end of all things]

The Lord has us in a Living Body of Christ to help one another through what lies ahead.

2Th 2:1  Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2Th 2:2  That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

The day of Jesus Christ which is the Day of the Lord does have an end.  He that began the work in us will and is finishing it.

Php 1:6  being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

Paul and others and we ourselves are too frequently admonish one another to stay the course, to finish the race in order to receive the prize.

2Jn 1:8  Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

2Pe 1:10  Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;

2Pe 1:11  for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As we grow and mature, doom and gloom to the old man is being changed into rejoicing as the new man increases and the Lord is revealed within us.

Joh 16:20  Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

1Pe 4:13  But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

The Lord’s plan is to prosper us by giving us His mind and manifesting His glory within (Jer 29:11).  If we are given faith to believe in Him, we shall be saved by this hope (Rom 8:24).  This is the hope that is, was and will be saving us as we abide in it during our “dreadful” day of the Lord.

Rom 5:1  Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Rom 5:2  through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God [to be revealed]

Rom 5:3  And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;

Rom 5:4  and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Rom 5:5  Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Knowing these truths and God’s purpose and methods in the “day of the Lord” and having faith in them, is how we are able to endure what is coming upon our earth, trusting in what the Lord is doing.

2Co 4:15  For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

2Co 4:16  For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

2Co 4:17  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

Our abiding through our day of the Lord is the greatest blessing as we are able to endure paying the high pricing of being chosen in Christ.

2Ti 4:8  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love [1Jo 5:3] his appearing.

We are so blessed to have been awakened to righteousness. Let’s take hold the admonishments of the Apostles and the Lord to pray, stay awake and remain sober knowing these Truths.

1Th 5:6  Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

Luk 21:36  Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.

“The Acceptable Year of the Lord”

Preaching the gospel is the same as preaching the acceptable year of the Lord.  Coming to understand this will help us know how we are to henceforth live our lives and what to expect as we finish the race set before us.  When Christ comes speaking the gospel to us, the acceptable year of the Lord has begun within us.

Luk 4:17  And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

Luk 4:18  The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Luk 4:19  To preach the acceptable year of the Lord

Luk 4:20  And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

Luk 4:21  And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

The acceptable year of the Lord is the year of the Lord’s favor upon men and is the greatest blessing any man receives.  That favor towards man, of course, is the true grace of God which is what transforms us and remakes us into His image by the chastening and scourging of our old man and beastly way of life.  The grace of God is not a substitution of his death for ours, nor is it forgiveness where no suffering or consequences are experienced.  True grace is the fire, the wrath of God poured out against our flesh and old man’s way of life.  It is what is teaching us righteousness (Tit 2:12).

Heb 12:6  For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth (accepts).

Isa 26:9  With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

We see the acceptable year of the Lord is also known as the day of vengeance that brings about our new man (the man of His righteousness) that is established by faith.

Isa 61:1  The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

Isa 61:2  To proclaim the acceptable [H7522]  year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

The acceptable year of the Lord could also be called the year of favor if we look at the uses of the Hebrew word for favor and acceptable.

God’s favor towards us is His righteous judgments.  Knowing we are in the lake of fire that is killing death within us (the carnal mind) is the one sign we have been received of our heavenly Father and are in the process of being accepted as we are being transformed into the image of Christ.

Psa 30:5  For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour [H7522 – acceptance, receiving us] is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

The restoration of Israel (God’s Elect now and all men in the end) is accomplished in this “acceptable” year and time the Lord has ordained when He comes to rule in our lives (establishing the earth).

Isa 49:8  Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

Isa 49:9  That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.

It is in this acceptable year of the Lord that we are made to give an account and we are judged and our spiritual progression is advanced from the initial down payment onward towards a mature man of God who is “doing righteousness”.

Act 10:35  But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Rom 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

The acceptable year of the Lord is no more a literal year than any other word of Scripture, none of which are literal and all of which are Spirit (Joh 6:63) and spoken in similitudes and parables (Hos 12:10, Mar 4:11).  Outwardly the acceptable year defines the three harvests of the Lord by which all men are being saved (1Co 15:22-24) in the order ordained.  Yet this acceptable year of the Lord is also a living event that all men beginning with the Elect will live out inwardly.  This year of the Lord is what is converting us and making us acceptable to the Lord.  It the blessing of the new man coming forth a progressive process that mature us.

Deu 16:16  Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:

Deu 16:17  Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee.

The acceptable year of the Lord is the same as the three days during which He is rebuilding the Temple of God we have destroyed and profaned.

Joh 2:19  Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

The working of the Lord within us for these three days is the one sign given that the Lord is with us and we are now being conformed into His image and righteousness.

Mat 12:38  Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
Mat 12:39  But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
Mat 12:40  For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth

Our change of heart via the spiritual circumcision done without hands (Col 2:11) is the same acceptance process (our consecration) by which the Lord that brings forth the new man.

Eze 43:27  And when these days are expired, it shall be, that upon the eighth day, and so forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings upon the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, saith the Lord GOD.

It is there in the body of Christ, in His Holy Mountain where we will be accepted and where all of this righteous work will be performed in us.   The Lord’s people are separated by the gospel and to the Lord, the savor of death to death (our carnal mind) is sweet and is what makes us acceptable in His sight.

Eze 20:41  I will accept you with your sweet savour [of death], when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen.

Dying to death on the cross is how we are being conformed into the image of the Son and is what makes us acceptable to the Lord. It is His desires and is what He is getting in working all things according to the counsel of His will and commanding us to “follow Him” to death.  This is why our death (death to death, the second death) is so very precious to the Lord.

Psa 116:15  Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

Ecc 7:1  A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.

A new testament witness explaining the Lord’s view of our death is this.

Col 1:20  And, having made peace [with you and me] through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Col 1:21  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

Col 1:22  In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Those being accepted by the Lord are those bringing judgment to the Gentiles within themselves meaning the rest of the dead.  Those the Lord accepts are one and the same those in whom He delights when this judgment is brought.

Isa 42:1  Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth [H7521 – Accepts]; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

Pro 3:12  For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth [H7521 – Accepts]

The Lord “taking pleasure” is also one and the same as the Lord “accepting us” as Psalm 149 confirms.

Psa 149:4  For the LORD taketh pleasure [H7521 – accepts] in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Psa 149:5  Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

Psa 149:6  Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hand;

Psa 149:7  To execute vengeance upon the heathen, [within first] and punishments upon the people;

Psa 149:8  To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron [rule and reign over the inward nations];

Psa 149:9  To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.

Being accepted by God means we have been chosen and received as His son.  The very fact we are enduring fiery trials in our lake of fire and dying to death having our carnal mind destroyed is very good news. It is the Gospel!  Embracing the gospel is embracing the work of God’s chastening grace that is scourging our man of sin and burning up our entire old way of life in making all things new.

2Ti 1:8  Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

2Ti 1:9  Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

2Ti 1:10  But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

Right now is the acceptable year of the Lord!  We are admonished not to squander it or receive the grace of God in vain.

2Co 6:1  We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

2Co 6:2  (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I helped [succored] thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

The trials in the church are only just beginning and we must remain on guard and watchful lest we are led astray and not learn the lessons we have witnessed with our own eyes of late.  The victory is certain, the baptism of fire, the cross, the lake of fire being the only way wherein righteousness will be established on a new heaven and a new earth within us.  I admonish myself and everyone to take hold of these precious promises we have been given and diligently pursue peace and holiness in the Lord.

2Pe 3:13  Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

2Pe 3:14  Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;

Our carnal mind will cause us to be complacent and let our guard down and our enemies are always right there to tempt us to fall from walking the narrow road carrying our cross.

2Pe 3:17  Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness

2Pe 3:18  But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

We should have every expectation of fiery trials daily as we need to go through the lake of fire now to die to death which is the second death.

2Co 6:4  But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

2Co 6:5  In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;

2Co 6:6  By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love (Agape  – our obedience) unfeigned,

The Lord is seated now in our heavens and we are to be putting on the new man and no longer live in the life we once had when abiding in darkness.  Today is the acceptable year of the Lord.  Lord willing let’s bring forth fruit confirming the Word working in us to bring salvation.

Mar 16:19  So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

Mar 16:20  And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.

Eph 5:9  For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;

Eph 5:10  Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

I hope we all can grow to fully embrace the suffering and afflictions to which we have been appointed for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ (Phi 1:29).   Our flesh will grow tired but the power of the Spirit working mightily in us will keep us going with the help of the Lord’s ministering angels in this Body.  Believe this gospel and know we have been already accepted by the Lord and our redemption draws nigh.  Now is the time!  Today is the day!

Luk 21:28  Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

Heb 3:13  but exhort one another daily, while it is called “TODAY,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Heb 3:14  For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end,

2Ti 2:11  It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:

Biblical Truth, Studies

Nahum Part 1- The Burden of Nineveh

“The Burden of Nineveh”

There is a reason why we have all sixty-six books of the Bible and many of them that seem to repeat the same theme and story again and again. The Lord’s plan is a simple one, yet the details of how He brings that about in each of us is voluminous. It is the glory of God to conceal these Truths and to reveal them to us and give us the zeal for His house that will consume our old way of life.

Pro 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.  (Also Acts 17:11)

It is the zeal for the Word that separates us from our physical brethren and consumes our old man within and becomes the dwelling place of the new man.

Psa 69:8 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother’s children.

Psa 69:9 For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.

As we study some of these so called “minor prophets”, the Lord has led me to go slow and be sure to dig a little for the hidden treasures of the Word to stimulate our collective edification.

The dream is indeed one (Gen 41:25)! The prophets proclaim different details of the same event which is the righteous judgment of God against our old man and carnal lusts in our day of the Lord. The Lord’s prophets today are God’s sons who have the testimony of Jesus Christ. As we saw in the Obadiah study the judgment of the heathen nations within and without begins when Christ the Ambassador, is sent forth to speak the words that wash us in water and baptize us in fire. It is enduring through this judgment and waiting on the Lord to finish His good work in us that is the patience of the saints (Rev 13:10, Rev 14:12). The judgments we must “read, hear and keep” are not only defined in Revelation but also in all the prophets.

Judgment must begin at Zion which represents God’s Elect and the Body of Christ whom He now judges in preparing us to be the judges of all men.

Isa 1:27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness

Isa 33:5 The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.

We, like John the Apostle, who wrote the Book of Revelation, are companions to all those in the Body of Christ in the tribulation and patience of Jesus Christ. We, like John, are being isolated from our people for the Word of God and the testimony (prophecy) that is in us.

Rev 1:9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The prophets were given to us to help us learn this patience and to take comfort in the Scriptures (Rom 15:4) knowing the work they are accomplishing in us.

Jas 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

Jas 5:10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

Here are the first three verses that will encompass Part One of our study of the Book of Nahum.  We go slowly because these prophecies are like a news story. The first few verses are the headlines and the remainder gives us the details. So we want to be sure to anchor the foundation before we move into the more minute details.

Nah 1:1 The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.

Nah 1:2 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

Nah 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

We can quickly see that Nahum like all the prophets is again speaking of the “strange work” of the Lord in remaking us all into a new vessel sanctified and holy before Him. We cannot understand this process until we are caused to hear the words of the Lord.

Jer 18:1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

Jer 18:2 Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.

Jer 18:3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.

Jer 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

Jer 18:5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Jer 18:6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

Lord willing some interesting details and linkages to other Scriptures will be revealed in this study that will help us grow in the faith and rest in the knowledge that the Lord is indeed working all things according to the counsel of His will (Rom 11:36, Eph 1:11, Isa 64:8, Dan 4:35)

Nah 1:1 The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.

God’s Elect comprise the Body of Christ and they are the prophets of God. We are those ambassadors sent to prophesy to the heathen nations within and without as we saw in the Obadiah study and as also told in many other places in Scripture.

Jer 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Oba 1:1 The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.

This prophecy is about the BURDEN of Nineveh, one of the nations of the land within us all. These opening verses in Nahum speak again to the Lord bringing wrath against the heathen nations and taking dominion over them. This most certainly applies outwardly in due time but for now is applicable inwardly in the hearts and minds of God’s people.

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Salvation is getting dominion over sin and that only comes about by the heathen nations, the enemies of God being put under subjection to the Law of Christ.

Isa 2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

The promise of salvation for ALL, applies both outwardly and inwardly, to all the nations of the earth. We must of course just wait for it as the Lord is promising.

Gen 28:14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

Gen 18:18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him

Nineveh is mentioned seventeen times in Scripture most notably in the book of Jonah. Nineveh is a nation within us as well as being an outward nation in ancient Babylon. After the flood we see the sons of Noah go repopulate the earth and the formation of all these nations.

Gen 10:10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

Gen 10:11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,

Gen 10:12 And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.

Nineveh becomes this great city (Jon 3:3, Rev 11:8) within us puffed up and in need of nothing (Rev 18:7) until her day of judgment comes (Rev 18:10). Spiritually speaking as the sum of the Scriptures tells us, this kingdom is formed after our coming to Christ and represent our appointed times in Babylon. Babylon and Nineveh by extension represent confusion; the time prior to us being given “ears to hear” and having the true gospel and doctrines of Christ preached to us by the ambassador who must be sent.

Rom 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Rom 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Rom 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

We see that Nahum is sent to preach on the BURDEN of Nineveh.  This is Strong’s Hebrew word H4853.

H4853 – BURDEN

maśśâ’

mas-saw’

From H5375; a burden; specifically tribute, or (abstractly) porterage; figuratively an utterance, chiefly a doom, especially singing; mental, desire: – burden, carry away, prophecy, X they set, song, tribute.

Total KJV occurrences: 65

The definition here conjures up the concept of doom and of being carried away by the lies and false doctrines of Babylon, which is where Nineveh lies physically and spiritually. The old man within us is indeed burdened while we are under the influences of the great harlot within. As God’s people, we are given to the priesthood (The Lord and His Christ) to help minister the priest hood but we cannot handle the vessels of the service.

Heb 13:10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.

Being ever learning but never able to come to knowledge of the Truth while in Babylon within and without we cause many to stumble with our lies and false doctrines.

Mal 2:8 But ye [Levi] are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.

The burden we carry in Babylon is that we must serve the tabernacle of God but we are not able to touch the holy things. Only the Sons of Aaron could touch the holy things of God, the rest of the Levites, including the Kohathites were given the burden of serving the tabernacle of the congregation.

Num 4:15 And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.

When we know Jesus only in the flesh, we are serving the tabernacle but are not able to enter into the Holy Place, the heavens where Christ sits.  Brass represents the works of man, the flesh in Scripture.

Exo 27:19 All the vessels of the tabernacle in all the service thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court, shall be of brass.

The Lord uses Babylon within and without to bring people to Him. To come out of Babylon we must indeed first go into Babylon and this is part of living by every word that the Lord causes.

Jer 29:4 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon;

Nineveh is a city within Babylon and spiritually represents this time in our walk when we seek refuge from the judgment of God against our worldly ways (Assyria).

Rev 18:7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

Isa 37:35 For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

Isa 37:36 Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

Isa 37:37 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.

Ultimately an obedient prophet “Jonah”, the second witness for Christ, is sent to preach the true gospel of repentance.

Jon 3:1 And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,

Jon 3:2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

Those who enter into the kingdom of God and are used as the Lord’s prophets are those who first refused to go. This is you and me as well as Jonah as we will see when that prophetic book is reviewed. Yet Christ tells us here as well as in this parable who His true workers are, His prophets. He came not to save the [self] righteous but to turn sinners to repentance.

Mat 21:28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

Mat 21:29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

Mat 21:30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

Mat 21:31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

When we are in Nineveh spiritually speaking, we bear this burden of the Levites and are separated from the Truth and striving as we may; we cannot gain dominion over the nations within. We have not yet come to know the true rest that is ordained for the people of God who worship God in Spirit and Truth and not according to the flesh.

Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Heb 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

The yoke of the old man in Babylon becomes hard and the burden of life is indeed heavy when we are yet carnal devoid of our ears to hear. But when faith comes and we are drug to Christ and given ears to hear and eyes to see, this changes for the new man in us.

Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Christ comes to set us free of this oppression and the heaviness we carry in Nineveh.

Isa 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Gal 4:31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Very interesting to note that Isaiah prophesied to ten different nations/people about this same burden Nahum speaks of. We won’t go into the details but it is a good topic for further study. We should know that the number ten represents completeness or the perfection of the flesh in Scripture.

Isa 13:1 The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.

Isa 15:1 The burden of Moab. Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence;

Isa 17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

Isa 19:1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.

Isa 21:1 The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land.

Isa 21:11 The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?

Isa 21:13 The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye travelling companies of Dedanim.

Isa 22:1 The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the housetops?

Isa 23:1 The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.

Isa 30:6 The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.

The details that go with each of these prophecies speak of the one event that comes alike to all, our toiling in vain until the coming of Christ within and without to judge the nations within and without. The nations within and without shall be judged and the kingdoms will be the Lord’s.

Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Oba 1:21 And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.

In the spirit of digging for treasures the dwelling place of Nahum the prophet, Elkosh also seems to be instructive and consistent with the sum of God’s Word. The city of Elkosh is an existing city in modern day Israel in the very north with a 2006 population of only 348. Yet the word “Elkoshite” or any part thereof is not found anywhere else in Scripture. So I went to outside sources to research this place of Nahum. While there is not agreement among the “scholars” the most plausible locations mentioned include:

  1. A site in Galilee (on the north side of Israel)
  2. A site in Mesopotamia, north of Mosul near the Tigris river
  3. Capernaum, the village on the north shore of the sea of Galilee where Jesus taught

I don’t want to think above what is written but the common denominator in all these possible sites, including the modern day Elkosh is THE NORTH. That is the direction from which judgment comes and we know that comes by the Words spoken by the prophet Nahum and you and me if we are God’s Elect.

Isa 41:25 I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as the potter treadeth clay.

Now let’s look at verse 2.

Nah 1:2 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

There is not much new to explore in this verse. We know the Lord is jealous for His people and for His Temple, which Temple we are.

Exo 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

1Co 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Isa 1:24 Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

We defile the Temple of God when we eat and drink the cup of devils (lies and false doctrines) and mix them with the true things of the Lord.

1Co 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.

1Co 10:22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

But we cannot serve two masters, we cannot serve God and mammon (Mat 6:24) and the idols of our heart. That was the whole point of Joshua telling us to choose today who we will serve and then telling us we cannot serve God because we have yet to stop serving other gods. It had nothing to do with our exercising our free will as we make that Scripture of its own private explanation (2 Pet 1:20) contrary to scores of other Scriptures including ones in the same chapter of Joshua.

Jos 24:19 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

Jos 24:23 Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel.

When we are yet carnal outside the faith, we are storing up wrath for our yet future day of the Lord when the Lord will exact vengeance for His Temple.

Rom 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

Rom 2:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

We shall indeed reap what we have sown for our time in Babylon blaspheming and persecuting Jesus Christ within and without. When Christ is sent to preach to the nations the vengeance of the Lord is taken in full against His adversaries.

Jer 51:10 The LORD hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God.

Jer 51:11 Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.

Which happens via this wonderful process called judgment that begins at the house of God in this age (1 Pet 4:17, Psa 19:8-9).  It is what we “The Christ” are doing now with one another speaking these Words of fire.

Nah 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

This verse speaks to the tender mercies of the Lord in being long suffering with us in our day of judgment having us to fall down seven times (Pro 24:16) to teach us true righteousness.

Isa 26:9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Rom 9:22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

Rom 9:23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

The Lord suffers long with us and causes this process of repeated failings and chastening to teach us. This is how we come to know He is indeed the Lord of heaven and earth and we of ourselves can do nothing (Joh 15:5).

Deu 10:14 Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD’S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.

Act 7:49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?

He is longsuffering with us also so we can do the greater works we are called to do in bringing judgment to each other now and in the ages to come (Gal 5:22, Pro 16:32).

The Lord does what He desires and He desires the salvation of all men which will come via this longsuffering process of judgment and wrath against the old man.

Job 23:13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

2Pe 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

As Nahum tells us here, the Lord has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm.

Isa 66:15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

The word “tempestuous” is the same word translated whirlwind in the OT and here we see in Jonah as well how the Lord has His way and the efforts of man to save himself are vanity.

Jon 1:13 Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not: for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous (a whirlwind) against them.

The storms are the Lord’s work in us. He raises them up and in the appointed times He calms the storms down. This is the way we learn in the storm and in the whirlwind.

As we saw in Obadiah’s Study, the Elect, the true Body of Christ will be the saviors that bring all men into the knowledge of the Truth. God’s people are the clouds; we are the cloud of witnesses (Deu 4:11, Heb 12:1, Mar 14:62) that raise up these storms in the nations and kingdoms of those who hear the Word that we speak.

Being under one’s feet means that one has been given dominion over that which His feet are over. We saw the verse earlier from Acts 7:49 about the earth (us) being the Lord’s footstool which demonstrates His complete sovereignty over all we do good or bad. We are taught not to take oaths or swear for that very reason, for the earth and all that is in it is the footstool of the great King.

Mat 5:34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:

Mat 5:35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

The Lord makes us marred and rebellious on purpose so He can return us to Himself and via that process teaches us the righteousness of the Father (Psa 90:3, Isa 26:9).  It is hearing the Word, receiving it in the land within that destroys the beast and returns the King to His throne. Then we can be used of the Lord to build a house for Him by bringing others into the kingdom.

1Ki 5:3 Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.

Psa 8:6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands;thou hast put all [things] under his feet:

Eph 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Eph 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

This is the spiritual meaning of our heel bruising Satan; putting the devil and his lies under our feet and gaining dominion over the flesh by standing and walking in the Truth (Joh 14:6).

Rom 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

The foot of Christ on the head of the serpent is what destroys the seed of the serpent, the beast within us and works over time to give us the mind of Christ.

1Co 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

The Body of Christ are the clouds that are under the feet of the Lord.  We are the dust under His feet. This has two meanings speaking to both the dominion over the flesh but also our use as the Lord’s prophets that bring the fire and brimstone to those prepared to hear the Word.  The feet of the Lord are indeed brass (copper) which always represent the flesh.  Jesus Christ is come in the flesh! Here is the vision of The Christ given to us by John.

Rev 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

Rev 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

Being of one mind in the Body is how the head of the beast, within is cut off and we henceforth become a living sacrifice for the Lord and the trespasses of mankind. We saw this verse in Part Four of Obadiah primarily for the role of judges that will be given to those that will be in the first resurrection. We show it again with the emphasis on the beheading that comes about through our witness for Jesus Christ.

Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

We will learn more in the next installment of Nahum about Bashan, Carmel and Lebanon and what these places represent spiritually. We will see further details on how the Lord wounds the heads of His enemies and we are being plucked from the depths of the sea of our carnal mindedness.

Psa 68:21 But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.

Psa 68:22 The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea:

It is only the chosen few of God who will be given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God.  To everyone else it simply is not given (Mat 13:10-13). When we begin to read, hear and see ourselves living out these judgments, the hidden wisdom of God; then we know the kingdom of God is at hand and we are blessed (Rev 1:3).

Amo 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

Mat 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

In Part Two we will delve into the details from Nahum 1:4 forward. These verses reveal greater detail of our journey and reveal wisdom hidden in the names of the places spoken about.

Hell and the Goodness of God

MARK 9:43-44  And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:  Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Many are believing a lie that is so big and has been told for so long, that it keeps one from seeing the true gospel in anywhere near the fullness of its richness and the brightness of its glory.  I hope you will begin to see this deception and how it holds men back from living and serving in the example of the Lord.   Sorry for the length but this is not something I  could explain in a short post and even still  I had to leave many confirming witnesses out.

These Scriptures in Mark simply state that if you practice sin, you will not enter into the peace and rest of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Far better to change our mind and deeds (REPENT), symbolized by chopping off a hand or plucking out an eye, and enter into the eternal life that is found only in Christ.  These words are not intended to be taken literally nor is the hell they speak of a literal hell of the carnal mind.  Jesus is the prince of peace and has come to show us the way to the peace that transcends all understanding.  We can enter into this kingdom right now.  It was near at the very door 2,000 years ago.  Far too many have become victims of religion and have not entered in and our keeping others from entering in based on carnal understandings and man’s traditions.

Matthew 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves

Until we truly come to know Christ deep in our spirit, such a person will be living in constant inner torment and will never find the true Sabbath rest that only comes from abiding in Christ.  Many fake it and do have varying degrees of peaceful periods,  yet still fall short of finding the true rest in Christ.  In this sense, being a child of hell has nothing to do with a literal never ending punishment by a wrathful God for billions upon billions of years.  What foolishness that we could be so deceived to think that God would ever act in such a way.  Such a belief violates ever attribute of God’s character and His righteous and just judgments.  Such a punishment is not just by any measure of reasoning.  Yet most believe that is what these Scripture teach because that is the lens our 30,000 denominations have filtered the Bible for hundreds of years.  Be they of the Calvinistic persuasion or an Armenian persuasion, many preachers stand before congregations in churches or online mediums and spew forth this centuries old lie.  Now that I see it clearly, it is sickening and I am ashamed of my own prior deceptions and contributing to spiritual darkness.   But God had other plans for me and created circumstances that I could be rescued from this error.  The devil has deceived the whole world.  This view of hell and God’s judgment is an absolute false understanding of the Scriptures, the core of the gospel and the very nature of God.

I can speak to this error and help pull the specks out of eyes on this issue because use I lived in this error for a very long time.  The doctrine of a never ending torment and punishment is a bad news gospel.  This gospel never leads to true peace and only puffs up men and encourages external forms of godliness in many who can help God out in their flesh.  I seek nobody’s approval in sharing this with you.  This truth will be vehemently rejected by the carnal mind and will come against traditional church doctrine and also the doctrine of many who have been called out the harlotry of religion.   But getting free of this error about hell is a key missing link that will lead to a humble heart and a contrite Spirit submitted unto the Lord.  When you realize God’s purpose in judgments and how He brings them about, the boasting and speaking evil of others will stop.

It is so much better to abide in Jesus Christ right now than to live a miserable life in this body of flesh.  Life is not a bitch and then you die — yet that is the lens of belief that many have come to follow in this life.  Sadly many that profess faith in Jesus and the gospel.  So many think that self abasement and having a miserable life is  what forsaking the world is all about.  That is not the case but I will have to wait to say more on that topic later.   The god if this world has been allowed by the true God to blind the people of this earth to the true gospel.  The truth is only revealed to us when we can come to Christ and rest in Him, believing not only who HE is but what He promised.  But this is only at the will and the discretion of the potter who is the Lord.  The clay doesn’t get to decide that.

Make no mistake our God is a consuming fire.  It is this very fire that purifies and a part of that is the righteous judgment of God.  I have been judged and continue to be judged and disciplined and shaped by my Father in heaven.  He is doing to the same to all of you reading this whether you realize this yet or not.  God has rescued me from the error of wicked religious men and put a fire in me that is burning away the veil and the sin in my life that keeps us in spiritual darkness (blindness).  I like Paul, only see in part and can only prophecy in part as through a glass dimly– but I see a lot clearer than I saw several months ago.  Logs of pride, self-righteousness and a false image of the love of God will keep anyone in the dark.  I joyfully share this with you and know it will take root for those God has prepared to hear it.

THE GOOD NEWS

The gospel is very good news.  It is not just good news for a few.  It is good news for all of God’s creation.   If you doubt this go back and read again the promises given to Abraham that Peter cited in ACTS 3.  God is much bigger than man.  Christ is much greater than Adam.  His ways are not our ways which really speaks to His enduring mercy and character.  This is real good.

Romans 5:18-19 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon ALL MEN to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon ALL MEN unto justification of life.  19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Ironic how we can easily accept that through Adam sin entered all men.  Yet God’s purposed remedy in sending His own Son to reconcile all men back to Him cannot be embraced by man who thinks he has to save himself.  What folly.  God is not going to be defeated in bringing about His will.  Thank God we all will have this victory in time through the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.

What greater glory to God is there then to reconcile all things back to Himself?  Do you really think God sending 99% of people to an eternal torment in a literal hell brings glory to God?  This would mean that God did not get His will accomplished, that He was defeated in that quest.  Such a lie gives life to the beast and a false image of god, not the true living God who is all powerful and for whom nothing is impossible.  Where does it say God is limited by physical death?  Hebrews 9:27 does not say any such thing. Indeed we have many examples showing HE is not so limited by death.  Oh the folly of wise men and the deceptions of their foolish hearts.  The following is some of the most profound Scripture you will never read the same way again once you get past this damnable lie.

1 COR 15:21-16  For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ SHALL ALL be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

It is finished my friends.  Jesus prayed Father forgive them.  Do you really think the Father did not forgive the Jews and sent them to an eternal torment that will never end?  No,  they are forgiven just as you and I are forgiven.  There will be second fruits after the firstfruits.   They missed out on the blessings in their physical life but they are not going to be punished for billions upon billions of years.  That is what the devil wants you to believe.   I don’t dismiss the judgments of God as indeed I have written about them much.  I have learned how they work and operate through my own disobedience and bearing the consequences of sin.

Knowing that hell is not a literal never-ending torment, what kind of life should we live?  A holy and righteous life, one full of love and mercy.  We were put here to serve others.  Jesus came to serve not to be served.  We are to all to be conformed into the likeness and image of Jesus.  That is God’s desire, and He will do it, He will not fail.  Nobody is going to outwit or out will God before it is all over my friends.  The righteous judgment of God,  His very wrath does abide upon the sons of disobedience and will stay there until HE gets the victory over all.  His fires will consume the fuel that is sin and wickedness out of all hearts.  Hearts and minds will be changed by the power of God (grace) in this life and the ages to come.  One day it will be evident for all to see.  This is the blessed hope.

Phil 2:10-11 That at the name of Jesus EVERY knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  And that EVERY tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Paul goes on to tell us how God brings this about.  He is the changer of hearts,  He is the one who draws us and creates circumstances that will change our will.  His hand is not too short to save all.

Phil 2:12-13 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

It is all by God.  We all should be praising God for the Spirit He gave us and for the promises of the complete and total victory over sin and the rebellion of His children.  Believing in the lie of eternal torment in hell is not good news any way you rationalize it.  It is not good news to the Muslims; it is not good news to the Atheists’ or the Hindus.  But the true gospel is good news for all mankind.  Holding to this lie will keep you in fear and trusting in your own strength and intelligence to find God.

God’s Righteous Judgments

Psalm 19:9-11 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.  More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.  Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

The judgments of God are not contrary to the true nature and character of a loving God.  His judgments serve a purpose and that is to turn our hearts to Him in repentance.  God has the ability to turn up the heat and bring judgment to us in ways we scarcely understand.  Like an earthly father with high standards of moral behavior, our Father in heaven has laid His standard in His law and commandments.

The fear of the Lord is a very good thing.  We learn it by making mistakes and enduring the law of reaping and sowing.  At 56 years old, I get this and know this is an immutable law of the universe.  All sin and rebellion has consequences.  We are forgiven as Jesus already paid the debt, yet we will endure the consequences of our continued sin.  It is far beyond the purposes to explain here, but consider a simple example.  If we smoke cigarettes, God forgives us, yet we may pay a price with a serious illness or cancer later in life.    I just lost a dear brother and distant relative to throat cancer who was absolutely a man of God who had learned to love God with his whole heart.  Yet he bore the consequence of sin.  But the good news is,  we shall see him again with the Lord!.

There will be a serious judgment when Christ returns.  Many will be cast into the lake of fire and will be beaten with many stripes. There will be suffering and we should absolutely fear falling into the hands of a living God for this judgment.  We must choose to live righteousness daily and come thru the furnace of affliction here in this life or else we will have to do it in the next life after physical death.  I for one am thankful God never leaves us or forsakes us.  He is always there and brings righteous judgment to turn us from our wickedness and purify our hearts.  The more we rebel, the hotter the flames of judgment, a literal hell on earth become.  But as the Psalmist wrote above, once you understand, these judgments are sweeter than honey.

Getting Clear About Hell

Christ spoke of hell several times.  Yet He also spoke of the love and the forgiveness that only a loving God can pour out of His children.  But to think hell is a place of eternal torment where God is going to punish people for billions upon billions of years is not taught anywhere in Scriptures.  It is not taught and the same deep study of Greek can clearly show some of the flaws in man’s translations.  But I don’t need to see it in a book; this is truth that brings peace to our hearts when we believe this gospel.  Eternal never ending punishment is a false doctrine. One would have to ignore hundreds of Scriptures to the contrary to hold to such a doctrine.   Our spiritual walk with Christ leading in our hearts is how we enter into the kingdom.  This kingdom is within our hearts said Jesus.

Luke 17:20-21 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Jesus did accurately state that only very few would enter in by the narrow way.  The vast majority would follow the broad way that leads to destruction.  This destruction is the fires of hell and the living of a life of misery, torment without true peace in your heart.  We either have eternal life dwelling in our hearts or we have death and destruction working in us.  But these words of the Lord do not tell all nor limit God and His ability to carry out His will of our sanctification after death.

Indeed that is the very purpose of the lake of fire.  God is a consuming fire and will bring wrath to His adversaries but this is to bring about His true purposes which are to purify all His people and accomplish His will.  The Lord will not fail.

If you study the origins of hell one can quickly see hell is likened to the place we go at death.  This applies both in physical and spiritual death.  Even Christ was said to be in hell in ACTS 2, but thankfully HE did not stay there.  When spiritually dead, you will be in a living hell inside your heart.  This is spiritual death, the dead men’s bones of the Pharisees.  No joy, no peace, no contentment but on only the worries and negativity that comes from walking in the nature and character of Satan.  The fires and the worm that does not die are all symbolic of a life characterized by bondage, stress and the lack of inner peace.  Most are in this hell right now and as they age, the fires will get hotter and the worms more numerous. But this is the purpose of God and His righteous judgments.  Our loving God, who truly wishes nobody to perish but all to come to repentance, is going to turn the heat up to change the hearts and the will of men, to turn them back to HIM.  Some will continue to disobey and be stubborn in their rebellion and these will at the judgment be thrown into the lake of fire. But ultimately, like all fires, the source of fuel will be burned up and then all that is left will be pure.  This is God’s purposes in all His judgments and the motive is always love.

It is Satan who wants you to believe in the lie of a literal and eternal hell.  This will keep people in bondage to fear all their lives and from coming into the fullness of the love and joy of the Lord.  How could one love a God who will torture their family members forever and ever? These translations of Greek words have for centuries twisted the gospel message.  The deceivers and spirits of antichrist were already in this world and in the church well before the Bible was ever completed much less published to the masses.  Here is one thing Christ came to do.  He did not fail in accomplishing this for those that truly believe.

Hebrews 2:14-15 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;  And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

When you come to realize that God sees everything and that all sin not put under the blood is instantly judged; you will learn the fear of the Lord and have the beginnings of understanding the truth about hell.  Being in hell is horrible.  Far better to dwell in the richness of spiritual life and true peace through Christ.   But please get clear that hell is not a place of eternal torment where literal flesh bodies are burned literally forever and ever.  This is a doctrine of a demon and makes our God into a monster.  This is totally opposite of the true nature and character of God.

The parable of the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16 is just that, a parable.  It has nothing to do with an eternal place of never ending torment and everything to do with showing the great divide that separates people from being in God’s comforting presence.  That great divide is faith in the one God has sent.

Luke 12:5  But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!

This  is a powerful verse which shows the sovereignty of God over His creation.  He kills and He makes alive.  He afflicts and He heals says the Lord.  We are not to fear men who can only kill the body but fear a Sovereigns God that can kill us spiritually and put the judgment of hell upon us..  But this verse does not negate the enduring attributes of God’s mercy and lovingkindness.  God’s purpose and desire is for all me to be purified and come to repentance.  All of God’s judgments need to be viewed through the lens and filter of the true God of love and grace.

The Lake of Fire

Before the restitution of all things, the final judgment of God is not hell, it is the lake of fire.  This lake is not explained in depth in the Scriptures but whatever it is, we most certainly do not want to end up there.  Hell itself along with death is cast into the lake of fire that burns with fire and brimstone.

Revelation 20:13-14 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

If we do not enter into eternal life in this age by having our names in the Book of Life (not erased) then are place will be in this final judgment which is the ultimate wrath of God.  All those who do not overcome, the wicked and the unbelieving both are cast into this lake of fire in the end.  They are not cast into hell as the passage makes clear.

But I want you all to see that eternal life is possible right now.  When we truly overcome and are dead to sin and alive to Christ, we inherit all things as sons and daughters of God.  We are no longer slaves to sin but sons of the kingdom.  What an awesome promise.

Revelation 21:7-8 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

The second death is the lake of fire.  Those that are truly Born Again in this age that enter into and see the kingdom in this age right now, will be part of the first resurrection and have crossed from death unto life and will not partake in the lake of fire judgment.  The second death will not harm them.

The god of this world who has blinded people to get captured by such heresy and keep many from seeing the true light of the glorious gospel.  God allows this in my understanding because He wants the living hell and lack of peace in your heart to be the catalyst to turn your heart back to Him. Then God can heal you and restore you into intimacy with Him.  Those that are living a miserable, stressed out, joyless, fruitless life are the ones perishing right now in their hearts.  They can’t see the gospel until their hearts are turned back to God.  It matters not how godly they appear of how much Scripture knowledge they have.  If they can’t see the basic gospel and the simplicity that it represents that even a child can see it, they are without understanding.

2 COR 4:3-4 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

It is time we quit warning others about a false eternal hell and begin sharing the good news and setting the example by walking it and doing what Jesus told us to do.  He never said to go warn people and yell that literal fire and brimstone would rain down from heaven.  We are to love all as Christ loved us.  That is what fulfills the whole law and proves said Jesus who are His true disciples.  Each must judge themselves on this matter.  If we are not a doer of the law but instead walk in condemnation, judgment and fear we have deceived ourselves as I will shamefully admit was me.  But yet in all of this, God works it all out for the greater good.

John 13:35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another

The doctrine of hell as a place of eternal torment actually exalts man and makes God a loser who is not going to have the final victory and accomplish His desires.  Oh the foolishness of men.  God’s hand is not to short to save or else the prophet Isaiah told a lie.  Paul tried to counteract the carnality of the earlier church.  He was frustrated that they were not getting the meatier topics and the spiritual manna from heaven.  They were yet carnal in their understanding of these things.  Some things have not changed in today’s church!

I have waited some time to write this post as I wanted to be certain God wanted me to write it and that I had the understanding to share this profound truth.  Fear of rejection also held me back as I know this will invoke some responses that I have been deceived or somehow led astray.  But I cannot hold it in any longer and stand against the truth revealed unto my heart.  I cannot consciously contribute to people’s continued walk in spiritual darkness and live in peace in my heart.  So we follow no man but only the Spirit of God in the man.  Search the Scriptures with an open heart and I am convinced some of the pillars of error will begin to be dismantled by the Lord.

The will come a day when all will stand before the judgment seat of Christ.  The Scriptures guarantee this.  But what this judgment is and how it will be carried out has been greatly perverted by men.  Such perversions have hidden the true gospel, the one that is good news and the one where God wins the complete and total victory from the minds of deceived hearts.  Satan has deceived the whole world.  Only a very few will be saved from these deceptions.  In the last days the Lord told us they would be so persuasive that even the very elect (the ones HE chooses out of the many called) would be deceived if God Himself did not prevent it.

God is not sitting in heaven waiting to pounce on you for every sin and send a lightning bolt down to zap you.  As we have seen, God is a righteous judge and we should strive against sin but let’s not forget what Scriptures actually teach.

2 COR 5:18-19  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling THE WORLD unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God came and died for you.  The Father poured out His wrath on His own Son to make final and permanent sacrifice for all sins of the entire world.  Through this act of unmerited love, all men can now be reconciled to God and be given the power to overcome the works of the devil.  I don’t know about you but that is very good news.

I see the concept of Universal Salvation as being very misleading and false.   Salvation at some level is being saved or rescued from the wrath of God.  We can be sure based on God’s mathematics that many will bear the wrath of an Almighty God on the Day of Judgment.   In this sense they are not saved.  But they will one day be purified.  Many are going to be caught in this web of judgment and will be totally surprised when the truth that is found only in Christ is exposed.

1 Thess 5:2-3 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.  For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.

But in the end,  God’s will is done.  God sent His son into the world not to condemn it but to save it.  In the end the propitiation of our sins will be made by Jesus to the Father and mercy will be given.  All things will be reconciled back to God to His glory.

1 John 2:2  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our’s only, but also for the sins of the whole world

I hope your heart will begin to bear the convictions of propagating a false gospel that greatly diminishes the Lord’s character and greatness.  He is a good God that will continue to give good gifts to His people of which He is the creator of all.  Pause and consider the Apostles words…

1 Timothy 2:1-6  I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;4 Who will have ALL MEN to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;6 Who gave himself a ransom FOR ALL, to be testified in due time.

In due time,  all knees shall bow and all tongues shall confess.  We are blessed to have the ability to do this now and our heart’s desire should agree with the Lord’s that all come to this knowledge of the truth sooner verses later.

Spiritual death or hell is the righteous judgment of God but it is not the final judgment.  Our Father in heaven is a God of love and one of great enduring mercy that we are told will endure forever.

Psalm 136:1 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endures forever

It is the lovingkindness of God that made us and brings us into His presence and reveals His majesty to us.   Man has been deceived by the serpent and has turned God into a madman that shows no mercy and enjoys punishing His own creation in eternal torment.  Shame on us the Spirit for entertaining such blasphemy.  Our God is good and everything that God does is with goodness in mind.

The Soul That Sins Shall Die

The soul that sins shall die.  A soul that is practicing sin is a soul that is dead to eternal life and alive to sin, the very opposite of walking with Jesus.  When we practice sin, we are cast into a spiritual hell and cannot enter into eternal life.   The peace of God cannot dwell in such a heart.   The wages of sin is this spiritual death and a life of hellish torment and disappointment.    This is the righteous judgment of God.  It is what our loving Father does to bring discipline and chastisement upon us.  He loves us and wants us to be like Him and His purposes are to burn all the impurity out of us so we may enter into His glorious presence.

So if we continue in willful practice of sin, we shall spiritually die, this is the truth.   When we die spiritually we will to hell Jesus and bear a severe punishment.  We should fear this and work out our salvation with fear and trembling knowing the Lord is in control and has given us everything we need.

Hebrews 10:26-27 For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,  But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries

Far better said Jesus for us to enter into eternal life with one hand, one foot or one eye than to be cast into hell with our body complete.  The truth about the myth of an eternal literal hell does not mean one does not keep the fear of the Lord before their eyes or goes soft on sin.  But the greater error is to be captured by this doctrine of a demon and turn the nature and character of God into a lie.

The kingdom of God was near it was right there 2,000 years ago.  Don’t miss it by trying to work your own way into heaven. Don’t miss it by being puffed up in your flesh and think you are someone when you are not.  Don’t be so prideful to admit you believed in a lie.  There is freedom in the truth.  Not freedom to sin, but freedom to love like God made us to love.  This fulfills the whole law.

We are to love others as Christ has loved us.  We are to serve just like He came to serve.  He gave us the example to follow.  It is a gospel of love.  God is love. And yes the love of God is to obey His commandments which are not burdensome.

Gal 5:13-14 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word (LOVE), even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

The Apostle continued to warn of the very thing that defines the Christianity being played out online by many that have been set on fire for God.  Let’s wake up folks.

But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

I think a reexamination of one’s ministry that is focused upon an eternal never ending punishment is in order.  This is not pleasing God and was never the model of discipleship in the Scriptures.  It is an invention of a carnal mind that thinks it serves God yet is partially blind to brightness of this glorious gospel.  I judge you not my friends if this you, as I have been there.  But I trust and know that in due time, this too shall be burned with the fire that is the Lord.

God has used the foolish things of this world, people and circumstances included to show me the things I have learned.  Milton Green played a big part.  My wife has played a huge role as have my sons.  Nobody has the whole loaf, each only a part.  My experiences here on this blog and the commentaries and private email have also been used to open eyes and peel off scales in God’s timing.  God used them all and the words spoken to prick my heart.  The true word of God spoken out in faith as commanded by the Lord through one of His servants will not return void.  It is HIS word that is washing me clean and will wash all of us clean.

Faith encompasses believing on what God said He would do it.  Jesus finished it and thru Him the whole world will be saved.  Will you begin to really believe this gospel?

John 12:32 If I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw ALL peoples to myself!!!!

The promises made to Abraham will come to fruition.  Through him, all the nations and all the peoples of the earth shall be blessed. May you begin to trust in the enduring mercies of our Lord.  More to come as I know many will have objections,  the same ones I did.  But the Word of God is a fire that consumes its adversaries.  The error in my gospel was burnt out of me by the finger of God.  He used the foolish things of this world to bring it about.  To HIM all the glory.  I am praying for you folks and for all the brethren.

ISAIAH 53:1  Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
