salvation

All Things Are Made New

new birthThere are no truer words the Lord spoke than these from Revelation 21. I hope you believe them, all of them and will wait on the Lord to bring it to pass.

Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

These words below speak of the same basic promise of the gospel and the mysterious process by which the Lord brings it all about in His timing.  Carnal eyes and ears cannot receive the most basic pillar and truth of the gospel that all flesh shall see the salvation of the Lord in due time.

1Ti 4:9This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.

1Ti 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

Luk 3:6  And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

Flesh seeing salvation refers to man being born again as that is the only way anyone can see and enter the kingdom of God.  The making of a new baby or a new creation in Christ is a process that takes time which is why travailing in child birth is a perfect metaphor for how the Lord brings new birth to all men in their appointed times.  Being born again and remade into the image of Christ is a painful drawn out process that our flesh will never willingly embrace but thank God the Lord brings salvation to us, we have nothing to do with it.  It will come to us suddenly when we think all is well in our spiritual walk.

1Th 5:3  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Isa 13:8  And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.

We have no idea what “all things” actually means when we read these scriptures at first, being yet carnal, and walking after the flesh. Yet that is the deep mystery of godliness and how Christ is formed in us little by little. With time we can look back and see from whence we have come.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

If we are not yet in the true Christ then all things won’t be new and we will be fitting in quite nicely with this world and its traditions. The outside of our cup may be cleaned up a bit but inside we are still full of death which is where sin lives in our hearts.  Our judgment is yet future but it will come and a day comes when our religion will be showed the vanity it truly is.  Here are the words of Christ that never pass away that we will hear in that day.

Mat 23:27  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.

The promise of the New Covenant, that comes first to God’s Elect in each generation and will come to all men in the lake of fire is that they will be changed.  They will be remade into a new creation and all sin and inequity will be purged from their bodies, hearts and minds.  This is all the work of the Lord, it is salvation and it comes through the chastening of God which is HIS TRUE GRACE.

Being Conformed to His Image

Contrary to the lies of Babylon, man was not made perfect and was never intended to inherit the kingdom of God in these fleshly marred vessels of clay. We all have to be remade and that only in the appointed times. Otherwise you can begin to cut out huge swatches of Scriptures including all of these passages that speak to us being remade and conformed to the image of the Son of God.

Rom_8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

1Co_15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

2Co_3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Col_3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

This remaking is all the Lord’s work and is done only on His preordained timing.

Isa 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

Act 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

 Being Called Into Babylon

When we are first called of the Lord we often make profound outward changes in our lives. Perhaps we stop drinking, overcome addictions, shut our eyes from looking at dark things like pornography, stop gambling, start going to church, praying; all manner of OUTWARD signs yet our hearts are still not changed. This is really just step 1 of God’s process when one of our beastly heads is wounded by the sword which is the word of God.

Rev 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

But that wound is quickly healed in Babylon and we remain a beast at heart despite our outward changes and profession of faith. Being yet carnal we speak like a dragon speaking blasphemies against the true doctrines of Christ.

Rev 13:11 And I beheld another beast (the religious you and me) coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

But a day will come, in this life or AION if we are God’s Elect when we will know He is the Lord and by His hands we are remade and our old way of life is destroyed from the inside out.

Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh;

Rom 2:29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.

Our healing only comes when the lying spirits and false doctrines are cast out of us by Christ speaking the words of truth to us.

Luk 11:20 But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.

Those days spent living in the lies and darkness of Babylon are a necessary part of coming to know the real truth in our appointed times but in the meantime we will think we serve God deceiving and being deceived by the false doctrines and false prophets

Jer 29:4 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, to all who were carried away captive, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem to Babylon:

Jer 29:5 Build houses and dwell in them; plant gardens and eat their fruit.

Jer 29:6 Take wives and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, so that they may bear sons and daughters—that you may be increased there, and not diminished.

Jer 29:7 And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the LORD for it; for in its peace you will have peace.

Jer 29:8 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Do not let your prophets and your diviners who are in your midst deceive you, nor listen to your dreams which you cause to be dreamed.

Jer 29:9 For they prophesy falsely to you in My name; I have not sent them, says the LORD.

Jer 29:10 For thus says the LORD: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you and perform My good word toward you, and cause you to return to this place. .. (make all things new!)

We like Peter and all the disciples will at first think we understand the things of the Spirit.   These are not words for them, they are words of us all as we must live by every one of them in the appointed times.

Luk 18:34 But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know the things which were spoken.

At this stage we will be boldly confident yet still carnal and spiritually clueless to the truth of God’s words, the blind leading the blind.

1Co 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.

1Co 3:2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;

1Co 3:3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?

Yet Christ will renew our strength once He truly comes in the Spirit.

Luk 22:32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

Of course this returning to Christ is nothing of our own will or initiative; it is all of the Lord’s doing in His perfect timing. Nobody comes to Christ unless they are dragged there.

Joh 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me drags him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

THE LORD IS FAITHFUL TO HIS PROMISES

I have been blessed thru many painful trials and tribulations to know at my deepest core how true and faithful these words of Jesus Christ are to the lives of every single man and woman that has or ever will be born. All things will be made new in due time and you can take that promise of the Lord thru His Word to the bank as He is faithful and true.

2Ti 2:13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

Psa 89:1 A Contemplation of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.

Psa 89:2 For I have said, “Mercy shall be built up forever; Your faithfulness You shall establish in the very heavens.”

The Lord made a covenant with all men and He is going to be faithful to bring it about in due time. But only a few will be given the faith to believe the Lord now. It matters not the rebellion of sinful flesh and the marred vessels the Lord has created.

Psa 89:31 If they break My statutes And do not keep My commandments,

Psa 89:32 Then I will punish their transgression with the rod, And their iniquity with stripes.

Psa 89:33 Nevertheless My lovingkindness I will not utterly take from him, Nor allow My faithfulness to fail.

Psa 89:34 My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.

One can believe the Lord if they have faith or they can believe the false doctrines of Babylon and the lies of eternal torment and free will along with two hundred million other lies.

When we first begin to see the truth, we have no idea the extent, the breadth and depth and width of what “all things” being made new actually means. It takes much maturing, many trials and tons of patience to learn these spiritual truths and lessons as we endure the chastening grace that comes upon only God’s very Elect in this age

Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth (not those he hates, but loves) he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Act 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

New Life Thru Death and War

According to Christ, new life comes not until something dies.

Joh 12:24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.

Joh 12:25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

The Lord has had me in a season of great travail and has been be changing many of things that had represented the old Peter. That old man is sufficiently dead that I can boldly say to those that knew me, that the old Pete is no more.

Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Being baptized into his death means a lot more than stopping smoking, cussing and watching TV.  It means ALL THINGS will be made new, the old man will be completely done away with.

Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

We don’t die without resisting. Just like animals our fright and flight instincts kick in and we will strive to do whatever we can to keep our old man and beastly nature alive. Yet when Christ makes war, there is nothing that will stop His will from being accomplished.  LOL the carnal logic that has God Almighty dependent upon pieces of clay to bring about His will!!!!

Job 23:13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

If we think Christ comes to bring peace to us initially, we have another thing coming. Christ came not to bring peace but war. When Christ comes, He comes not to bring peace or bring unity, but He comes to make war and cause division.

Mat 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword

Luk 12:51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

This is the process of salvation coming to us beginning with the death to our old way of life. That is what true repentance means and whether we repent or not, it is all the Lord’s work, our delusion of free will has nothing to do with it.

Psa 90:3 Thou (GOD DOES IT) turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

Isa 63:17  O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear?

The war that Christ brings when He appears to us to begin remolding us into a vessel of honor does not take place out there in space, it takes place in heaven which is in the hearts and minds of God’s very Elect.

Rev 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

Rev 12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Please see this link for a recent study on where heaven is.  THE SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE OF HEAVEN

The coming of Christ to make war and make all things new separates His Chosen Ones from the rest of the world. The sword that is His word divides us and also divides the old man from our new man (Christ in us). This is a great mystery we must be given the ears to hear and eyes to see by the Lord.  Salvations comes to us by the trials that the Lord in His mercy brings upon His Very Elect in this age. That is how we are refined in the fire and all things are made new.

1Pe 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

1Pe 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

My old life has been destroyed by these trials and in that I rejoice because that is how we learn righteousness and come to possess “eternal” aka aionious life right here and right now.

Isa 26:9With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Thy judgments are only in the earth of God’s Elect in this life or AION.

1Pe 4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God

We don’t possess eternal life unless and until we know the real Christ.  Few do

Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

The destruction of our old man in our day of judgment is the very essence of the good news and how the Lord plans to remold us into His image. This mystery has in turn been twisted by carnal men into the lie and false doctrine of eternal torment that is believed by billions of people to this very day.

Rom 11:7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded

Rom 11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

But to those with ears to hear and eyes to see, we have come to see this is the wonderful works of God to the children of men and is the process, the method by which we all are saved in due time.  Here is the good news coming to us, the fire that is the word of God coming to teach us righteousness thru the process of judgment and suffering.

2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

2Th 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting (age abiding not eternal) destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

The Two Vessels of Clay in His Hand

The making of all things new is likened to the Lord being a potter and remaking the first vessel of clay He makes into a new vessel. Speaking about Isreal, His Elect and chosen few, the Lord says this thru the prophet.

Jer 18:3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.

Jer 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

The Master Potter promises God’s Elect that all things will be made new when Christ comes to a second time for salvation without sin. This process begins when our day of the Lord commences . But first we will spend our appointed time as the false witness, a vessel of dishonor, knowing and serving Him in the flesh. Yet a day will come beginning with Christ’s first fruits or His Elect to remake those marred vessels into vessels of honor in the house of God.

Rom 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

Rom 9:22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

Rom 9:23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

It is by the Lord showing His wrath against our carnal mind and lusts (the old man) that He will make it known to us the riches of His glory. In actuality, contrary to what we learn in Babylon, the mercy of the Lord is actually having this judgment of God fall upon us and living thru the wrath against our old nature. This is a great mystery the world cannot receive in these above verses from Romans 9.

Mankind is indeed clay in the hands of God. It is IN HIM that all men, live, breathe, think and have their very being.

Act 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

A dear sister just showed me and others that being IN HIM is the same as fulfilling this profound statement by Christ. He is the Word.

Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

The first Adam is the man of sin (in all of us) and was never intended to enter the kingdom of God. The first vessel we all are in the flesh I, was and will be marred and that on purpose by the Lord.

Rom 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

Some of the plainest Scriptures describing the two step process are right here in 1 COR 15 as is the salvation of all men in due time, but very few can hear what is being said.

1Co 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; (marred, subject to vanity, sinful flesh, corruption, etc) it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

1Co 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

1Co 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

1Co 15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

1Co 15:48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

1Co 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Flesh and blood CANNOT inherit the kingdom of God. Our being flesh is simply the first step in God’s two step plan for all men.

Rom 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

Psa 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin (FLESH) did my mother conceive me.

The Last Days Usher in Salvation and all things new

Those who doubt the absolute sovereignty of God do not know what it means to be a potter molding clay in one’s hands and have no appreciation for God’s plan for all men in their appointed times.   This is the “last days” for each of us, our time of Christ coming to us to bring judgment and begin the process of remolding the clay into the new vessel.

Dan 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

Dan 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

The time of the end, is a day and hour unique to all of us, it is our personal day of the Lord, the day of judgment, not a literal day but a period of time, the process by which our marred “chief of sinners” vessel of clay is remolded into a new vessel.   This begins when we HEAR the word of the Lord and arise and go to the Lord’s house (the real Body of Christ) and where we see with spiritual eyes and ears that are CAUSED to hear (no free will involved whatsoever). Amazing how prideful carnal babes will be shown such convincing scripture such as this but cannot see it and cannot hear it as the Lord is keeping them in darkness to this most basic plan of God.

Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Isa 64:7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.

Isa 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

Notice it is not our sins or unrighteousness that is filthy rags, but it is the very righteous things we do that we take credit for and boast about claiming free will that truly deceive us and keep us snared in darkness imprisoned in Babylon. But in the last days for each of us, the Lord will come to be exalted in our heavens.

Isa_2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

Mic_4:1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.

Act_2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

In the appointed times for all, the Lord will return a second time without sin for salvation, which means giving us dominion over sin, setting us free from sins power in our lives.

Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Gaining Dominion and Victory Little By Little

The past year has been a life changing season for me. I can now look back and see the Lord’s hand in all of us, doing the very things I have written about in this post. The war in my heavens and the coming of Christ has not brought peace but a war. But Christ is winning and the old Pete and his kingdoms have been destroyed little by little, town by town, city by city, idol by idol. All things are being made new by the shaking. A new way of life has emerged.

Heb 12:26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

Heb 12:27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Christ in me has been feasting on the enemies within me and the kingdoms of the beast, the chief of sinners that gathered against the Lord.  When He to make war in your heavens, to remold and shape you then we will begin to understand what God being a consuming fire really means and it has nothing to do with eternal punishment.  It has everything to do with God bringing salvation to all men by destroying the beast and false prophet within us all.

Rev 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

Rev 19:18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

Rev 19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. (PRAISE GOD FOR HIS WAYS!)

Rev 19:21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

When Christ comes to us in the AION presdestinated for us all, if we are God’s very Elect, He is going to finish the good work He has started in us. The destruction of our old man and old way of life will indeed be complete. The Lord leaves no stone unturned, no lies in our heaven, the light that is Christ will via His PROCESS of judgment make all things new.

I hope my rambling musings here have helped some struggling with the seemingly slow process the Lord ordains to change us into His image. I encourage you to be patient and wait upon the Lord and you will not be disappointed. The Lord work patiently with us and even tells us why, so we will know He did it and our carnal mind had nothing to do with our salvation.

Luk 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls

Exo 23:29 I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.

Exo 23:30 By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land.

If we are given the faith to believe, we can then enter into His rest and wait on the Lord to do His great work in us. In due time we shall not be ashamed.

Psa 25:3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed

Following in Christ Suffering

Php 1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

The death of Jesus Christ did not finish or eliminate the need for His Christ to go die with Him, it just showed us the way.  He was sent to suffer and be sacrificed for the people and so shall His Christ follow in that model.

Joh 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Joh 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

Joh 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Joh 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

Rather than lamenting these things, which we will of course all do initially, we should rejoice. Nobody will say it is a blessing to be persecuted or spoken evil about but what sayeth the Lord.  Don’t forget who is blessed so says the Lord.

Mat 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Mat 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Walking in the light is walking in Christ which is the Word. This is done by being actively engaged and fellowshipping with the true Body of Christ.  This is how we are cleansed being washed by the water of the word and all things are made new. This is the way of salvation and making of all things new.

1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Take heart and wait on the Lord to finish His good work and bring His promises to fruition.  He will do it.

Rev 21:5  And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

The new birth is coming to all, it only awaits the times and seasons appointed by God.

The Consuming Fire of God

Fires don’t burn forever.  Not in the physical nor in the spiritual.  I want to share some true things that the Lord has revealed to me since He opened my eyes and ears to hear His words that are all spirit.  The fire of God is His word as we will see and it is indeed a blessing for us to learn and be taught to abide in this fire.  Look at these verses from Isaiah 33 which foretell of this mystery.

Isa 33:14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

Is this speaking of who will be in eternal hell?   Absolutely not.  The people who will be dwelling in everlasting fire are not the wicked sinners as taught by Babylon but are in fact the true people of God who have had the fire clean them up and burn out of them all things that defile.  Look at how the Holy Spirit answered the question about who should dwell in this “everlasting fire”.  It is not people being tormented for their sins.

Isa 33:15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

Those that are in this “fire” are the ones walking in righteousness having their old man destroyed, dying daily, getting their mind renewed daily by the fire of God’s word that abides within them.  The people in this fire are God’s very Elect, the ones HE is saving now in this age.  Judgment begins at HIS HOUSE.   This is such a revelation if you can receive it.  The traditions of the orthodox churches have nothing right and the doctrines they teach and we all first learn are truly another gospel and a different gospel.  If you know what bread and water represent in Scriptures then you will see the total apostasy in the professing orthodox churches of men.

Isa 3:1 For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water (NO TRUE DOCTRINES, ALL LIES)

When we are yet carnal and looking at Scripture thru the veil of flesh, we will not see anything correctly even though we all will vehemently argue otherwise.  But a day will come when that veil is removed and then we will truly come to appreciate that the Scriptures don’t mean what they say, they mean what they mean, and that meaning must be given to us by faith.  Christ’s words are not to be taken literally, outwardly by the letter.  They are Spirit.

Joh 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Mat 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

So the truth and the knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom are given to very few as many are called but only a few are chosen of the Lord.  Eternal hell is a lie, one of just millions we all first learn in Babylon.  The fact is that “FIRE” is an attribute of God and HIS WORD, that has both positive and negative applications in Scripture.  The word of God is likened to a sword that has two edges and this refers to the positive and negative applications of all words of Scripture.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Fire is negative in that it brings destruction and destroys the old man and the carnal mind.  Fire is positive in that it purifies us and burns out all the sin and inequity from our hearts and minds.  But the natural man cannot receive the truth of God’s word, it is foolishness to him.

1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

We are going to look at what “fire” represents in Scriptures and we will hopefully see a new truth that God is not this monster God that we say is a God of love yet who is going to burn billions of people forever without end in a place called eternal hell.  There are some wonderful articles that speak to the truth and expose the lie of eternal torment.  They can be found here:

SALVATION OF ALL

HELL IS NOT ENDLESS PUNISHMENT

I pray you are given eyes to see and ears to hear these truths and will come to believe the good news of the one true gospel.  Let’s begin with some Scriptures that tell us of the character of God.  He is a devouring fire.

Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a devouring fire

Deut 4:24  For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God

This is far from the only characteristic of God.  Indeed they are many others and they include such other attributes as love, mercy, and long suffering to name a few.  So carnal men make the mistake of twisting Scriptures to their own destruction. It is the sum of God’s word that represents the truth.

Psa 119:160 The sum of Your word is truth

2Pe 1:20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,

Yet carnal men have taken Scriptures by themselves, violating these two principles of God’s word and to the exclusion of other Scripture have invented their own doctrines.  Doctrines and spiritual truths we take to heart are what we eat spiritually speaking and when we do this in Babylon, we are making our own bread and have not the doctrines of Jesus Christ.

Isa 4:1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

With 2,000 years of Apostasy behind us, carnal man has truly maligned the nature and character of our great God.  Deceivers have only waxed worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

2Ti 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

The doctrine of eternal torment and man’s free will to choose God are gigantic doctrines of devils which point away from the Cross and the Lord Jesus Christ.  Such doctrines do not conform one to true godliness but instead keep the beast that all men are safely enthroned in our hearts in the place of the real Jesus.  This is not somebody else or some man to come in the future, this is you and me and all men.

Ecc 3:18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Rev 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

Fire is the instrument of Judgment

Fire, which stands for the WORD of GOD is what brings judgment upon us.   And hopefully we do know that Jesus Christ is this WORD and that He came to save the world and will do so in due time by the process of judgement.

Joh 12:47-48 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.  He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

This coming of Christ to us a second time is very bad news for the old man but for the new man that the Lord is bringing forth, it is very good news.  It is the love of God in action as He remakes us and chastens us with His grace.

Matthew 3:10-11Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Heb 9:28So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Every son God receives in this age is scourged with this fire.  This is the true baptism into Christ’s death and it comes from the Almighty as the destruction of our flesh and carnal mind.   This is completely opposite of what Babylon teaches us.  Here is what the word of God working in our lives works.

Heb 12:6For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

1Pe 4:12Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

Act 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

The judgment of God is said to be sweeter than honey for the new man and it begins at the house of God.  It is a blessing for the fire of God to come upon us and burn out all that defiles.  Eternal torment is such a damnable heresy.

Psa 19:9-10 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

1Pe 4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:

God’s love converts all His enemies, which is all that are carnal minded at enmity with God, into His friends.  The vehicle for this conversion and transformation is the righteous judgment of God.

Psa 66:3Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.

The day of the Lord is this day of judgment where in the fire of God will work its wonderful work in us and destroy the old man and bring forth the new man

Joe 2:1-3Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;   A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. A fire devoureth before them; and behind them aflame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.

Fire is good to the new man and very bad for the old man and carnal mind.  These words of Christ speak of His wonderful works to the children of men.  This is how we are sanctified, it is thru the process of coming thru the fire.

Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Mat 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

Even this verse from Matthew, always misquoted due to the carnal translation of “aionious” as everlasting; speaks of God’s chastening grace that will save all men in the end.  Being sent into the lake of fire is how all men except God’s very Elect will be saved in the 2nd resurrection.

Mat 25:41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, (age abiding) prepared for the devil and his angels:

Rev 19:20  And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Do any research and you will see that brimstone is a purifying agent which is the very purpose of God’s fires.   I hope you are beginning to see that the fire of God is what brings judgment to us.  It is very good yet we will never be judged unless and until we can hear the words of the Lord in Spirit.  We must have ears to hear and we only get them in the last days of our carnal age when judgment comes upon us.

Joh 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

Fire is God’s instrument of salvation and that simply is HIS WORD, which must be heard with God given ears to hear to begin to work its purposes in our lives.  That purpose will be our sanctification.

1 COR 3:13-15  each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.  14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

Maybe now you can understand the Psalm 19 that spoke of God’s judgments as sweeter than honey and more desirable than gold.  God’s purposes with fire is always for good.  The belief of a fire that never goes out and burns without end is not in the Scriptures and is an invention of the carnal mind adopted from ancient pagan doctrines.  All men shall be saved, that is the promise of God and that salvation will come by the very same fire the blind multitudes of orthodox Christianity claim will burn people in hell forever and ever.

God Gets What He Wants

The will of God is always getting done in everyone’s life everyday all the time with no exceptions.  The will of God is for all men to come to repentance and be saved,  and it will happen right on HIS schedule.  Here is a real gem of a verse so few can receive,

Job 23:13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

He is the LORD and called the Almighty and in Him, we live and have our very being.

Act 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

This is what God wants and He will get and His word, the fire will perform its work in the appointed times for each of us.

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

God is longsuffering, He is patient, His mercy endures forever.  He is not waiting on any man to choose Him, God is working all things for the council of His will.

Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Pro 16:9 A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

Isa 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Fire Cast Unto the Earth

Jesus Christ will ultimately be the Savior of the whole world but He is not now saving the entire world.  For now and in each generation since Christ, His Elect, the few chosen from the many called are who Christ is saving.

Mat 22:14  For many are called, but few are chosen.

The way we are saved is when we are judged as we saw earlier.  This comes when fire is cast onto the earth, which speaks to us, made from dust.  All of Scripture is a parable needs to be applied inwardly first and foremost.  In due time Christ will save all just as promised and as Paul states here:

1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1Co 15:23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.

Jesus wanted to get on quickly with building HIS church by bringing judgment via this fire onto the very Elect.  This fire lights our earth on fire when we are given our ears to hear by the precious gift of faith. I have been lit on fire by the power of God.

Luke 12:49I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled!

Isa 26:9  ... for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

The carnal mind does not understand that God made us all marred vessels of clay on purpose, only to remake us all in the appointed time of judgment for all.  God’s anger against our rebellion to His ways is all part of His plan to teach us thru His righteous judgments and by doing so we learn good and evil and become like gods.  His anger is used to bring about good which is our salvation!!!!  Oh praise God for those who see this now.  Isaiah the prophet spoke of this as well and this is one of my favorite Scriptures that I now finally truly understand and rejoice over

Isaiah 48:10  Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.

Being refined in a hot fiery furnace is not fun for the old man.  There is much suffering involved, which is the walk of God’s chosen Elect.  We must suffer as our Lord suffered and it is by this suffering we will learn obedience.

Php 1:29  For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake

So much for the false prosperity gospel.  God is not in the flesh blessing business, He is in the business of destroying flesh and blood and remaking us by the fire of His word.

Rev 21:5  And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

God’s fire is like a refiner’s fire.  Its whole purpose is not to punish people as the demonic doctrine of eternal hell puts forth.  No, God’s purposes are always for good, ALWAYS, and God’s fire is there to draw people to Him and to purify us into the divine nature that is God.  The Prophet Malachi spoke of Jesus coming and likened this to a refiner’s fire.

Malachi 3But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like launderers’ soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the Lord An offering in righteousness.

When God puts His spirit in us, He puts in the fire that will consume the adversaries of the Lord.  All the enemies of God and things in our land, which means in our hearts and our minds,  the things  that defile our temples of the Lord will be burnt up eventually thru this process.  This fire cannot be put out by man or his delusion of free will.  It will burn up the tares, which are the false doctrines we believed out of our land.  What God has started in us, He will finish the job. Jeremiah thought he could thwart the will of the Lord just like Jonah did and not speak this word.

Jer 20:9  Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

But as Jeremiah and Jonah both learned, the zeal of the Lord is that word burning in us and it will consume us and purge the old man, that man of sin out of our heart.

Joh 2:17  And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

I hope you have eyes to see clearly the purposes for all of God’s judgments.  They are used to purify His sons and daughters, not to torment them FOREVER.  His anger is but for a short time as the Psalm 30:5 tells us.  The character of God has been greatly stained by carnal man and this doctrine of eternal hell.  You will be ashamed you ever believed it when your eyes are opened to the truth.

The Role of the Priests

Jesus is our HIGH PRIEST and sits in our heavens with the Father.  Priest make a propitiation for sins and Christ was such for not only the sins of His Elect but for the sins of the whole world.

1Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

God’s chosen Elect are the kings and priests of the Lord and if we are found faithful will rule and reign with Him during the Millennium reign on earth.  In the interim we will overcome and gain dominion over sin.

Rev 1:6  And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever

Rev 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the (our) earth.

The role of a priest in Scripture as the sum of thy word tells us is always to put fire on the altar of God.  Let’s look at God’s instructions to His priests.

Leviticus 1The sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar, and lay the wood in order on the fire. 8 Then the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat in order on the wood that is on the fire upon the altar; 9 but he shall wash its entrails and its legs with water. And the priest shall burn all on the altar as a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord.

The hearts of the people, ours included are the wood as we will see below.  This is nothing more than us becoming a living sacrifice and having the word of God, the fire, burn up our old man.  We die daily as we are crucified with Christ.  This is what the fire does it consumes the lusts of the world, lusts of the eyes and the pride of life in us.  The fire kills us and fulfills our needing to lose our life to gain it.

Mat 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

God uses His few chosen ones, the very few among the many called, to be the very fire.  The Elect of God that have this fire burning in them are the BODY OF CHRIST.  They are the angels or messengers of God are cast fire down to the earth.  This is all symbolic language that speaks to us speaking His word, that is the fire.

Heb 1:7  And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

Rev 8:5  And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

God’s Elect are these angels and are these ministers.  We are the salt of the earth, and we rain fire down on this earth by preaching this gospel.  This applies first to our own earth, inwardly but also to the few sheep and lambs the Lord will send our way.  We feed them His word, which is a fire.

Jeremiah 5:14  Wherefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

This is what will turn the hearts of the people back to God when they believe.  The priest of God will never stop speaking words of fire.

Leviticus 6:11-13 and the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. 13 A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out

This is the ETERNAL FIRE,  not some made up eternal torment.  We know a literal fire burns no more on an altar in physical Israel.  This is speaking of the WORD of God pricking the hearts of His people.  God has raised forth in each generation those He has chosen to as priests on His kingdom.

Fires Consume The Fuel Given To Burn

This true gospel is a fire when we are given ears to hear it in truth and in spirit.  The hearts and mind of carnal man is the wood.  The words of Jesus are eternal life and when they go out they never return to Him void if and when they are heard with God given ears to hear.  These words of fire will accomplish all of His divine purposes in their appointed time. The carnal man has looked at the book of revelation thru fleshly eyes.  They will use this verse that follows to support a total unbiblical view of an eternal torment.  But they are yet carnal and know not the true heavenly things of God.  Only God can give eyes to see these things.

Revelation 14:9-11If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

This verse is speaking to the righteous judgments of God that are already being experiences in the hearts and minds of HIS Elect, upon where judgment must begin.   Those judgments, which are pure and which are likened to honey and even pure gold.  The torment is in the hearts of men who must die to themselves and their self will so God can give them the new heart and pour His love into them.  This is the suffering of the old man and the process of being crucified with Christ.  The time period is not forever and ever, it says the eons of the eons and it means an age lasting period of time God has ordained for each of us.  But eventually ALL THE WOOD will be burnt up.

Pro 26:20 Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.

Psa_106:18  And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. Job_31:12  For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase.

Fires consumes and destroys the old man, the beast within, the carnal mindedness that represents all of us in the flesh.  When these enemies of God and the carnal mind is at enmity with God, is burned up, then salvation comes. We overcome sin in our lives, getting dominion over sin via the earnest deposit, the down payment we have been given with Christ working in us, the hope of glory.

The Lord will accomplish His purposes and will remake us all into new vessels. He does this with His word, the fire of God.

Lam_4:11  The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof.  Eze_22:31  Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: (THE OLD MAN IS DESTROYED PRAISE GOD)

These verses actually speak to the good news, the wonderful works of God to the children of men.  In the end God’s love wins out and all men will be saved.  It is by the crucifixion of Christ in us that we shall be saved in our appointed times.  We must follow the Lord and go thru the process of judgment and become a living sacrifice to be saved in this life and then we must endure to the end and be found faithful.  This fiery process is painful for the old man but it is by this fire that all the carnal thoughts and doctrines, THE WOOD, is burned up.  What will remain is the pure gold refined in God’s furnace.

Eternal hellfire is a lie and another jesus.  Here is the truth about how long the judgment of God will last. The “eternal” fire that brought judgment to Sodom and Gomorrha are not burning today.  That wood was burned up long ago.

Jud 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

The church fell away from the truth before the Bible was even finished being written.  Doctrines such as eternal torment have simply been passed down for centuries leaving the carnal minded KJV translators no choice but to take words like Aion and Aionios and mistranslated them into eternal and everlasting.  Here is a short article that shows this egregious error that has helped keep the multitudes blinded to the true Jesus. AION AND AIONIOS MISTRANSLATED But far greater glory remains for those who come to know God in this age.  Such will not work via the strength of their flesh or the delusion of free will for their salvation.  We will strive to stay on the narrow path and work out our own salvation, knowing that it is God who is now doing the work in us.

Php 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Php 2:13  For it is God (not you, not your free will) which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Those precious few given the gift of faith (God’s Elect) will be striving to be found worthy to win the prize, to receive the reward of being in the first resurrection.

Php 3:13  Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

Php 3:14  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

So this I press onward for the mark and this HIGHER CALLING of God, that is given to just a few.  Many will see their works burned up and exposed for the false gospel and other jesus’s they followed.  But they all shall yet be saved in the very end.  All God’s promises will come to pass.

When something is consumed it disappears and ceases to exist.  Hallelujah, death shall be no more!!  The result of this is that all things will be restored to a pure, divine nature which defines the awesome God that I now serve.  I cannot wait.

1 COR 15:54-57 Death is swallowed up in victory.” 55 “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” 56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you Jesus for kindling your fire on this earth.  Thank you Lord.   I leave you with a Psalm excerpt that sums up the purposes of God’s fires.  This is the good news, the Lord destroying the old man to bring forth the new man.

Psalm 11:5-7 The Lord tests the righteous, but the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.  6 Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind  shall be the portion of their cup. 7 For the Lord is righteous, He loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright God loves righteousness.

God will turn His enemies into His friends.  He is going to make everything and everyone righteous in the end.  His power and His glory truly know no limits.  False teachers will continue to deny the power of God and speak evil of the truth I now share with you.  May those who have ears, hear this word.   I would be happy to assist you and be a helper in your joy of the Lord. Your brother in Christ,   Pete

Salvation of ALL

The Salvation of All

 Introduction

The vast majority of Christians today believe that God is going to burn many people in hell by torturing them for all eternity. It is actually considered a great heresy by many that God would have mercy upon all men and eventually bring all to salvation. I firmly believed this doctrine of eternal torment, and was very motivated to tell others what I thought was the good news of the gospel of God. The Gospel that some will be saved and some will burn forever in hell is not good news, but rather a twisted and heretical view of God’s glorious plan of salvation.

The truth is that from the very beginning, God planned to redeem every person he ever created in addition to the spirit realm: angels, demons, and even Satan himself. In this study I’m going to show you in great detail from the scriptures, how God has hidden this plan to restore all things behind the types, shadows, and symbols of the Old Testament.

Act 3:20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

Act 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

The law was given as a shadow of the good things to come, which are revealed through Christ and the Spirit of God in the New Testament.

Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

This great mystery has been hidden from ages and generations, but now is being manifest, as Paul explains in Colossians.

Col 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

The truth of God restoring all things is hidden behind the dark sayings and parables of his Word, which without the Spirit is impossible to understand.

Psa 78:2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

2Pe 3:15-16  And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

The scriptures are difficult to understand, because God has written them to conceal the truth, until the appointed time.

Pro 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

God spoke to people through parables in the Old Testament to keep the mystery hidden, and then did the very same thing in the New Testament through Christ.

Eze 20:49 Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! they say of me, Doth he not speak parables?

Eze 24:3 And utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:

Mat 13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

Mat 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Isa 6:9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

Isa 6:10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

It is impossible through our own carnal reasoning and human understanding to see the mystery hidden behind the letters of the scripture. It is only through the Spirit of God dwelling in us that we are able to see the truth of his Word.

1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

I hope and pray that God will give you his Spirit that you may understand the true Gospel, and comprehend the marvelous plan of God. Paul prayed the very same thing for the Ephesians to whom he preached the truth of God.

Eph 3:16-19 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.

Isaiah tells us that none but God knows what he has prepared for those that wait on him.

Isa 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

Yet Paul reveals that by God’s Spirit, the deep things are revealed unto us!

1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

I hope and pray that the Lord will use this paper to confirm what he is showing you through his Spirit.

There are many difficult verses to understand, and many scriptures that seem to directly contradict one another in our carnal understanding. I ask that you first please read my study entitled “Hell is Not Endless Punishment”. I need you to clearly understand that eternal torment in hell is not spoken of in the Old Testament, and certainly not taught by Christ or any of the Apostles. This study addresses many verses that seem contradictory to the Salvation of all. With the foundations laid in that study, you will be better prepared to appreciate the magnificence and beauty of the true Gospel of God hidden in the Old Covenant, and masterfully revealed in the new.

Genesis

Very early in the Book of Genesis, God gives a prophecy of what will happen to the serpent, because he has tempted Eve to transgress the first law ever given.

Gen 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

The Hebrew word for “bruise” is shu ph H7779, and is the same word translated as “crush” in the following verse.

Job 9:17 NKJV For He crushes (H7779) me with a tempest, And multiplies my wounds without cause.

What happens if a snake bites your heel and you then crush his head? Your heel may be injured, but the snake will die. This is actually a prophecy of the salvation of Satan.

Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

Here is an article about the salvation of Satan:

Will Satan and His Angels Be Saved?

It is quite interesting to notice that death and hell are cast into the lake of fire. The Greek for Hell here is “hades” which is equivalent to the Hebrew word “sheol” and means the grave or place of the dead.

Rev 20:14 And death and hell (hades) were cast into the lake of fire.

This is the second death.  There is no longer any need for a place of the dead if death has been destroyed.

1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

We must remember that the scriptures are full of dark sayings and parables. In a parable there is a deeper meaning behind the words, so we must look beyond physical death and search the scriptures for the spiritual definition of death. We find it in Romans.

Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

So there will be no physical death anymore AND no one will have a carnal mind. The carnal mind is the opposite of the mind of Christ, and represents all that is evil rebellious in our mind. The lake of fire into which “death” and “the grave” are cast, is a purifying fire that burns up all that is carnal, or disobedient to God.

Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be

1Co 3:15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Our works are burned, which means that we are taught through God’s judgment to forsake all wickedness and self-righteousness, yet we are saved. This is the means by which God accomplishes the salvation of all, through judgment. This is actually the last of the Milk Doctrines listed in Hebrews 6.

Here is a study on this topic: Milk Doctrine of Eternal Judgment

Christ tells Peter that the power of hell (hades) will not prevail against the Church.

Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell (Hades) shall not prevail against it.

This relates to Hebrews 2:14, which explains that the devil, who has the power of death, is destroyed.

Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

Continuing on in Genesis, we find that there is a tree of life symbolizing salvation through Christ, but it is guarded by Cherubims with flaming swords.

Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Keep in mind that the mystery is hidden behind these symbols of the Old Testament. What does a sword symbolize? Let’s look to the New Testament to understand the mystery.

Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Word of God is used to divide soul and Spirit. The word for soul is “psuche” G5590. This is the same word translated as ‘life’ in the following verse.

Mat 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

In this case “life” represents our old sinful ways that we must lose in order to inherit true life.

Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

So the Word of God is actually used to divide our old sinful ways from the truth taught by the Spirit of God that is sent to dwell within us. The sword that is guarding the tree of life is on fire, because the Word also purifies us.

Mal 3:2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:

Mal 3:3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

If we are going to come to know Jesus and eat of the tree of life, we have to pass through the flaming sword.

So who is it that is given to eat of the tree of life? Rev 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Overcoming is about overcoming the wicked one.

1Jn 2:14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

If the wicked one, Satan, is destroyed then everyone is going to overcome him and eat of the tree of life.

Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

Later in Genesis, Abraham is told that all the nations of the earth will be blessed through him.

Gen 22:18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

Gen 26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

This too is a prophecy that all men shall be saved. Paul explains in Galatians 3, that God will justify the heathen (Gentiles) by faith.

Gal 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

Israel has been mostly blinded from the truth until the fullness of the Gentiles have come in, but then all of Israel will be saved.

Rom 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Rom 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Paul goes on to explain how God uses the unbelief of some to give mercy to others. The end result is that he has mercy upon all.

Rom 11:30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

Rom 11:31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

Rom 11:32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

The story of Joseph and his brothers is a powerful example of the mercy that God will have towards us, despite the fact that we have persecuted and spiritually killed his son Jesus and his people that preach the truth to us. Joseph had a dream that was true, yet he was hated for it.

Gen 37:5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

He prophesied that his brothers, his mother, and father would bow down to him one day. When the opportunity presented itself, Joseph’s brothers cast him into a pit and then sold him into slavery.

Gen 37:23 And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him;

Gen 37:24 And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.

Gen 37:28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.

After many great trials and much suffering Joseph is made the ruler over all of Egypt and stores up grain to save many from the seven year famine. When his brothers come to buy grain for the family Joseph torments them and then has great mercy upon them.

Gen 50:19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?

Gen 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Gen 50:21 Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.

This story of God sending Joseph to make a way to save his family and many others is a shadow of the true salvation to come through Christ. While Joseph’s brothers were hateful towards him and attempting to kill him, God was actually working their salvation. This is exactly what God has done through Christ for us.

Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

1Jn 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

1Jn 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

This salvation is brought to us through Christ and His body, which is made up of those in whom Christ brings the Spirit of God to dwell.

Col 1:24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:

Col 1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

Col 1:29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

This great mystery is explained in the following study: The Mystery of the Kingdom of God

Exodus

The book of Exodus is about Israel being set free from their bondage and slavery in Egypt. They cried unto the Lord in their distress and he saved them.

Exo 1:14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.

Exo 2:23 And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

Exo 2:24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

Exo 2:25 And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.

Exo 6:6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:

Notice that God says he will deliver Israel “with great judgments”. God delivers us from our bondage to sin by judging us and chastening us to forsake ungodliness and obey his commands.

Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Tit 2:12 Teaching (chastening) us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

In Exodus 6 Israel is delivered from bondage in Egypt, which is a shadow and type of the true deliverance from bondage to our own sin revealed in the New Testament.

Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Rom 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

Rom 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Rom 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Rom 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal (aionios) life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

This study will explain aionios life: What is Aionios Life

And also in Galatians:

Gal 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

Gal 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

God sent ten plagues upon Egypt to deliver Israel from bondage, the final one involved the death of all the first born, and the blood of a lamb being put on the doorposts so the death angel will pass over.

Exo 12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

Exo 12:4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

Exo 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:

Exo 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

Exo 12:7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

Exo 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.

Exo 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

Exo 12:14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.

What does this lamb in Exodus symbolize? We are told in the book of John.

Joh 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

In Exodus, only Israel was saved by the blood of the lamb, but in John it is 13 revealed that Jesus takes away the sins OF THE WHOLE WORLD. God planned from the very foundation of the world, to provide Christ as a sacrifice to redeem all of his creation.

Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

The first born of all in Egypt being slain is a shadow of our old man being crucified with Christ. The old man represents our sinful ways and carnal mind before we are born again in Christ and given new ways and the mind of Christ.

Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. We must lose our life and be born again to be delivered from the bondage of sin.

Mat 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

In the book of Exodus, God gives Moses instructions about building the Ark of the Covenant. Part of these instructions involved a “mercy seat”

Exo 25:17 And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.

Exo 25:21 And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.

Exo 25:22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

God says that he will meet and commune with Israel from above the mercy seat. This is a powerful shadow of the mercy that God will show towards all men. God does show great mercy, but he also requires that we reap the fruits of what we have done. When we transgress his laws we must be chastened from our iniquity. Mercy does not mean that all consequences are negated, but rather that in the end we will all be saved.

Num 14:18 The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.

Num 14:19 Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Gal 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

To continue on the theme of mercy, God shows mercy to those that keep his commandments.

Deu_5:10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

Deu 7:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:

Yet Israel constantly breaks his commands, as we all do, so how will any mercy be shown? The answer lies in the promise of a New Covenant.

Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Eze 36:25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

God is going to cause all of his creation to keep his commands, therefore he can have mercy upon all and forgive their transgressions. Here is the fulfillment of these promises in the New Testament.

1Jn 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

Php 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Rom 11:32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

Salvation of All Hidden in the Law

In God’s plan of salvation there is an order in which all are saved. There are three steps to this process that are foreshadowed in the feasts that Israel was to keep each year.

Exo 23:14 Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year. Exo 23:15 Thou shalt keep (1) the spring harvest the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty. Exo 23:16 (2) The summer harvest at pentecost And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and (3) The fall harvest at the feast of tabernacles the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field. Exo 23:17 Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD.

Through these three harvests, the whole of the yearly harvest is brought in. The analogy of sowing and reaping is prevalent throughout the New Testament.

1Co 3:6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.

1Co 3:7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

Luk 6:44 For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush.

Luk 10:1 After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.

Luk 10:2 Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Paul refers to these feasts in Exodus as he explains the order in which all will be saved.

1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive (G2227).

1Co 15:23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.

1Co 15:24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.

Some will say that “to be made alive” is to be resurrected, but then sent to heaven or hell. Here are a few uses of the same Greek word (G2227), that shows how “made alive” means to be saved.

1Pe 3:18 NKJV For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive (G2227) by the Spirit,

2Co 3:6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life (G2227)

Joh 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life (G2227); the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

Let’s now examine the order of salvation.

1Co 15:23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.

Jesus Christ is the firstfruits of the harvest of all. Firstfruits simply means the first of the harvest.

1Co 15:20 NKJV But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

Jas 1:17 NKJV Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Jas 1:18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

Rom 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,

Rom 11:14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them.

Rom 11:15 For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

Rom 11:16 For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

Christ speaks of death as sleep.

Joh 11:11 These things He said, and after that He said to them, “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.”

Joh 11:12 Then His disciples said, “Lord, if he sleeps he will get well.”

Joh 11:13 However, Jesus spoke of his death, but they thought that He was speaking about taking rest in sleep.

Joh 11:14 Then Jesus said to them plainly, “Lazarus is dead.

Just as Christ has been raised from the dead, so will we all be raised from the dead. Since the firstfruit is holy, so will at their appointed time be made holy.

1Co 15:23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.

The KJV translation hides the meaning of who is saved during this second step. There is the article “the” before “Christ” as these translations demonstrate.

1Co 15:23 (ABP+) But each in his own order; the first-fruit is Christ, thereupon the onesG3588 of theG3588 ChristG5547 at his arrival.

1Co 15:23 (REV) But, each, in his own rank:—A firstfruit Christ, after that, they who are the Christ’s, in his presence,

1Co 15:23 and each in his proper order, a first-fruit Christ, afterwards those who are the Christ’s, in his presence,

Christ actually has a Christ, which is also called the Body of Christ. When you read the phrase “the Christ” or “His Christ”, it’s just another way of saying the Body of Christ.

Act 4:26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.

Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Rev 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

God has chosen some to be the firstborn of all those that will come after Christ himself in order of salvation.

Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

These are called God’s ‘chosen’ or ‘elect’.

Mat 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Col 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

Tit 1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Christ chose the 12 apostles to take his message of salvation to the world, and in the very same way there are those chosen in every generation to preach the truth of God’s word. Paul tells the Corinthians that the saints will judge the world and angels. The word for saints means “holy ones”, and refers to God’s elect whom he makes holy first.

1Co 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

1Co 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Paul explains that he is one of these ministers of God’s work, and has been given the job of fulfilling what Christ started.

Col 1:24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:

Col 1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word  of God;

Col 1:29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

All of God’s chosen, the elect, are used by God to reconcile all others to God. In this way the elect of God are also saviors.

2Co 5:18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

2Co 5:19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

2Co 5:20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

The word of God, symbolized by fire, is given to God’s ministers in order to save others.

Jer 5:14 Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

Remember that we are saved by fire.

1Co 3:15 NKJV If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

Heb 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

There are two resurrections. The first resurrection is of God’s elect, who are faithful to the end in their physical life.

Rev 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

God’s faithful elect are given judgment and will rule and reign with Christ during the millennium, and then are used to save all those in the second resurrection through the lake of fire.

Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

God’s elect are used to administer his fire, which is used to purify and to save. The lake of fire is described in the book of Revelation, which purifies those that are cast into this fire.

Rev 20:10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever (ages of the ages).

Rev 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.

Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.

Rev 20:13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.

Rev 20:14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Rev 20:15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Purpose of the Millennium

After we have been purified by fire we will be able to dwell with God.

Heb 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.

Psa 5:4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

Isa 59:1 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

Isa 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Isa 33:14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

Isa 33:15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil

It is also very revealing to see the mercy that God provides to his people through the year of jubilee.

Lev 25:10 And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family.

Lev 25:11 That fiftieth year shall be a Jubilee to you; in it you shall neither sow nor reap what grows of its own accord, nor gather the grapes of your untended vine.

Lev 25:12 For it is the Jubilee; it shall be holy to you; you shall eat its produce from the field.

Lev 25:13 In this Year of Jubilee, each of you shall return to his possession.

The scriptures are full of great mysteries that are hidden behind the letters. Ask God for understanding and study diligently to see the truths that I have explained from the Word of God.

Psalms and the Prophets

With this new understanding that God is going to save all, let’s read through a number of verses from the Psalms and prophets and see them foreshadow the wonderful plan of God.

Psa 22:27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

Psa 22:28 For the kingdom is the LORD’S: and he is the governor among the nations.

Psa 22:29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.

ALL shall turn unto the Lord, and ALL nations shall worship the Lord, even those that die and go down to the dust.

Gen 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

The wrath of God is upon all disobedience for a season, and then joy comes and life is given.

Psa 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

This study explains how the wrath of God saves us. Treasuring Up the Wrath of God

Psa 67:1 To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song. God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.

Psa 67:2 That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.

Psa 67:3 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

Psa 67:4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.

Psa 67:5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

Psa 67:6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.

Psa 67:7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

God’s righteous judgment will result in praise, because it causes us to be obedient and love his ways. This study will explain more:

The Milk Doctrine of Eternal Judgment

Psa 68:18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: Thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.

The Lord will lead us out of captivity and dwell with those that have been rebellious.

Psa 86:9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.

Psa 98:2 The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.

Psa 98:3 He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

This is a prophesy of the salvation that is to be revealed in the New Covenant. God often speaks through his prophets like David and speaks as if something has been done, when it is not yet manifest.

Rom 4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Psa 145:9 The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

God will show mercy to ALL.

Isa 25:6 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

Isa 25:7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.

Isa 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.

Isa 25:9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

This salvation that David speaks of is for ALL people, which will swallow up death in victory for ALL, and wipe away ALL tears.

Isa 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

Isa 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

Salvation is of God, and when He makes the truth known all will bow to him and be saved.

Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isa 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. The prophecy of the sacrifice of Christ is for the iniquity of ALL.

Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

How do people in hell who are separated from God’s goodness worship him? These next two verses make it quite clear that God does not cast anyone off forever or remain angry forever, rather his mercy triumphs and delivers us all from our sin.

Lam 3:31 For the Lord will not cast off for ever:

Lam 3:32 But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

Mic 7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

Mic 7:19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

This verse in Zephaniah shows how the Lord brings obedience through his wrath.

Zep 3:8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

Zep 3:9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that theymay all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent (accord).

Zep 3:17 The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

I hope you can now see the wonderful plan of salvation foreshadowed in the Old Testament.

Salvation of All in the New Testament

I have already dealt with most of the problematic passages in my other study, Hell is Not Endless Punishment, so I’m just going to focus on the verses that proclaim the true Gospel, the salvation of all.

The Gospels

Mat 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

Mat 18:12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

Mat 18:13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

Mat 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

Through this parable the heart of our heavenly Father is clearly revealed…he cares about every one of his sheep and will not let any perish. In Matthew, Christ instructs Peter to endlessly forgive his brother who sins against him. If this is Christ’s doctrine, then He must forgive us for our transgressions against him and his Father as well.

Mat 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

Mat 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, until seventy times seven.

In Luke, the good news of the gospel is for ALL PEOPLE.

Luk 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

As Christ was hanging on the cross, he asks his father to forgive those who were crucifying him. If they are forgiven for crucifying the son of God, who cannot be forgiven?

Luk 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

This next verse is self explanatory.

Joh 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Why was Christ sent into the world?

Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Many people read the word “might” and conclude that it is only a possibility that Christ could save the world, when in reality it is a declaration of Christ’s mission that he WILL save the whole world. Young’s literal translation is a bit more clear.

Joh 3:17 YLT For God did not send His Son to the world that he may judge the world, but that the world may be saved through him;

Christ will accomplish the will of the Father. But what is the will of the Father?

1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Joh 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Joh 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Joh 6:39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

Who will Christ draw unto himself?

Joh 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

Joh 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Acts

Here in Acts, Peter explains God’s plan to save all, as witnessed by the prophets long ago.

Act 3:19 ESV Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out,

Act 3:20 that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,

Act 3:21 whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.

Act 3:22 Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you.

Act 3:23 And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet shall be destroyed from the people.’

Act 3:24 And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came after him, also proclaimed these days.

Act 3:25 You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed.’

Paul’s Writings

I’m going to quote a number of passages from the book of Romans to show how Paul taught the salvation of all.

Rom 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Rom 5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Rom 5:17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Rom 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Rom 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

Rom 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Paul draws the comparison between Adam bringing death to all, so Christ brings righteousness to all. If all have sinned, then all shall be saved! To further emphasize the point, it is shown that grace abounds more than sin. These verses in Romans 8 clearly reveal that God is the one who subjected the creation to vanity, and will then deliver us from bondage.

Rom 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Rom 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

Rom 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

In Romans 11, Paul explains the mystery of how the temporary blindness of Israel is actually used to save the Gentiles, and then BOTH will be saved.

Rom 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

Rom 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.

Rom 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

We’ll end our quotes from Romans with this statement.

Rom 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

We have already gone over some of these verses in 1 Corinthians, but they are certainly worth reading again.

1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.

1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

1Co 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1Co 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

1Co 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

1Co 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul says in 2 Corinthians that God is reconciling THE WORLD unto himself through Christ, and does not impute their trespasses to them.

2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by

2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

The book of Ephesians says that God is going to gather together into one, all things in Christ.

Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Eph 1:8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

Eph 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

Eph 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

The fullness of God’s Spirit is going to be in every one of his children. This is a second witness to what Paul says in 1 Cor. 15, that God will be all in all.

Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

Eph 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Eph 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Eph 4:10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Here is God’s end goal, to have everyone bow to Jesus.

Php 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Php 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Php 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

This does not mean that they should bow, as if it is a suggestion or command that is not followed, but rather a statement of what will happen.

Rom 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Rom 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

ALL things are subdued unto Christ. All shall be made like him.

Php 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Php 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Christ will reconcile ALL THINGS unto himself, including his enemies. We are commanded to love our enemies, so why would God do any less than he commands us to do.

Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Col 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

Col 1:22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Mat 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Mat 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Mat 5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

Mat 5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Introduction

Most Churches and Pastors today teach that everyone is going to be judged after this life and that they will either enter eternal bliss with God or suffer eternal torment in Hell. I believed these same things since I was a small child and then began to teach others when I realized that there were eternal consequences to these beliefs.

I spent a year as a full time missionary in Pisa, Italy working for Campus Crusade for Christ. I took a year off after my sophomore year of college because the reality of eternal damnation hit me like a ton of bricks. The only logical thing to do in light of my belief in eternal torment was to spend my life telling others about salvation through Christ to avoid hell and dwell in heaven forever.

Most people think that Italy is Catholic, but in reality only the older generations are practicing Catholics. Most young Italians think that the bible is a bunch of fairy tales. As we began to talk with students at the University of Pisa it became abundantly clear that they could not understand what we were telling them about salvation through Christ.

Our team leader read us these verses in 2 Corinthians and explained that the only way someone could believe the truth of the Gospel and be saved was if God himself removed the veil from their eyes.

2Co 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
2Co 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
2Co 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

I had never quite realized before how powerful this blindness was. I talked with literally hundreds of students and other Italians that year and only two expressed any interest in what I was preaching. I’m not sure if either of them ever really fully grasped what I was trying to teach them. This verse became quite clear to me.

Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

I remember sitting in my bed in Pisa realizing that the only reason I was saved from this hell that I so dreaded was that God randomly chose me to be given eyes to see. So a few years later after returning from Italy I had this thought “If Christ died for everyone and if God is the one that opens and closes eyes then why can’t everyone be saved?” This then led to the thought, “does hell really exist as I have been taught?”

I got on the internet and did a search for “hell”. One of the first things I found was a paper by Thomas Thayer written in the 1850s called “The Origin of the Doctrine of Eternal Punishment”. In this profound paper, Mr. Thayer clearly demonstrates that the doctrine of hell and eternal torment was not a Jewish teaching and was most certainly not taught by Christ and the Apostles. While everything that Mr. Thayer says is not true scripturally, he helped to legitimize my thoughts and got me to see that I had been taught pagan lies all of my life and not the true doctrine of Christ.

In the following pages I’m going to show you from the scriptures how eternal torment was never mentioned anywhere in the Old Testament but was a very well developed theology among pagan cultures that significantly influenced the Jews and early Christians. The true Gospel of God, that all will be saved, has been hidden from the masses of Christianity. I hope and pray that this study will be used to set you free and open your eyes to the truth.

Adam and Eve

Here is the warning that God gives to Adam and Eve about what will happen if they disobey and break his command to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

He simply said “you will die”, and nothing more.

Here is the description of the punishments given to Adam, Eve, and the serpent.

Gen 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

Gen 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Gen 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it:cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
Gen 3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
Gen 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Notice that all of the punishments are temporal in nature, meaning that they are not said to last forever. In verse 19 God even says “for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” This is a very odd way to explain being burned in hell forever…if that was indeed the true fact of Adam and Eve.

Cain

Let’s see if the first murderer in the bible was warned of this eternal torment to come.

Gen 4:10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.
Gen 4:11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;
Gen 4:12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
Gen 4:13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.

Cain is quite dismayed over his punishment which involves difficulty in cultivating the ground along with being a fugitive and vagabond in the earth, but there is absolutely no mention of eternal torment.

So God has some mercy on Cain and says that he will avenge anyone that would kill him seven fold, and gives him a mark to keep him safe.

Gen 4:14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.
Gen 4:15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

God had mercy upon the first murderer and reduced his concern of being killed by others others, so why would he not have mercy upon those who cry unto him for all of eternity out of the torturous fires of hell? Do you see the terrible inconsistency here if God will torment some forever?

Noah and the Flood

God was angry with the sin upon the earth in Noah’s time and causes a world-wide flood to destroy everyone but Noah and his family.

Gen 6:11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
Gen 6:12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
Gen 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

God does not say that he will torment these disobedient and sinful people in hell for all eternity. He simply says that he will destroy them.

Gen 7:23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

Sodom and Gomorrah

What do we learn from Sodom and Gomorrah?

Gen 18:20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
Gen 18:21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.

Gen 19:24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
Gen 19:25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities,…

Again there is no mention of eternal torment after their destruction. Sodom and Gomorrah are actually mentioned in the book of Jude in the New Testament.

Jud 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

This verse is often used to support the doctrine of eternal hell fire, but is the city of Sodom and Gomorrah still burning with fire today? Obviously no it’s not, so this example demonstrates that the punishment is not eternal.

Here is the truth of the matter:

Pro 26:20 Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.

Once the wicked city and its inhabitance were destroyed, the fire went out. We will cover this in detail later in the study, but the word translated as “eternal” in most English translations is the Greek word “aionios” and does NOT mean eternal. It means lasting for an unspecified period of time. It is better translated in Young’s Literal as “of fire age-during”.

The fire of God’s judgment burns until all the evil is gone and then the judgment stops and we are SAVED.

1Co 3:15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

What’s being burned is our evil works, not a literal person burning in hell fire.

Curses in Deuteronomy

When God gave Israel the law, he described in detail the consequences for disobedience, but there is no mention of eternal torment. I’m taking the time to show you all of these verses because I want it to be abundantly clear that eternal torment is a pagan doctrine.

Deu 28:14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
Deu 28:15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
Deu 28:16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
Deu 28:17 Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Deu 28:18 Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
Deu 28:19 Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
Deu 28:20 The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.

What about Suicide?

Some people teach that that suicide is the worst sin you can possibly commit. Was there any warning of eternal torment for committing this grievous act?

2Sa 17:23 And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and gat him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father.

Again, there is no mention of the eternal fate of this person. That seems like quite a grievous omission if eternal torment is in fact true.

Just Recompense

Let’s consider for a moment the justice of God. In Hebrews we are told that every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward.

Heb 2:2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

In the courts of the world, the punishment is equivalent to the crime committed. The worst thing you can do in this life is kill another human being and the punishment for this in many places is death. What could man possibly do that deserves ETERNAL TORMENT? Is God not capable of teaching us to be obedient and delivering us from our evil thoughts and actions? Is he less just than the carnal men that rule this world?

The Hebrew Word for Hell

The word translated as hell in the Old Testament is the Hebrew word “sheol”, H7585. In the King James Version it is translated as follows:

31 times: grave
31 times: hell
3 times: pit

These words most often are the place of the dead which is simply the grave.

Gen 37:35 And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down into the grave unto my son mourning. Thus his father wept for him.

Job 7:9 As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the graveshall come up no more.

This word is also used to express distress or deliverance from great danger.

Job 17:11 My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.
Job 17:12 They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.
Job 17:13 If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
Job 17:14 I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister.

Psa 30:2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
Psa 30:3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

David did not die but is using the grave to express the great danger that he was delivered from by the Lord. He even says in verse 3 that he has been kept alive so that he should not go down to the pit.

Job even asks God to “hide him in the grave” from all the wrath and trials that are upon him. If this is a place of eternal torment then why would Job be asking God to hid him there?

Job 14:13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!

Now let’s look at some verses where the KJV translates sheol as hell.

Deu 32:22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
Deu 32:23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.
Deu 32:24 They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.
Deu 32:25 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.
Deu 32:26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:

So with a mind tainted with the pagan doctrine of eternal torment, these verses in Deuteronomy seem to be referring to there being fire and burning in hell (the grave). However, look as verse 24, “they shall be BURNT with hunger”. God is using fire and the grave (hell) just like David does in Psalms, as a way to describe great trials. The chapter continues on describing very physical and temporal consequences for disobedience.

All of the following verses would make much more sense to be translated as “grave”, because saying the English word “hell” brings to mind all of the pagan doctrines that are not a part of Jewish doctrine.

2Sa 22:6 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

Job 11:8 It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?

Psa 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Psa 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Moses was Aware of Endless Punishment

Moses was taught all the ways of the Egyptians, and yet never mentions any of their pagan doctrines related to eternal torment.

Act 7:21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.
Act 7:22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

Here is a quote that describes the Egyptian teachings on the afterlife.

Those souls whose scales of good had outweighed their scales of bad would be granted permission to enter the blissful afterlife. On the other hand those whose scales of bad deeds were heavy would be handed over to the Devourer of the Dead, which was the Egyptian equivalent of hell.” (http://www.kwintessential.co.uk/articles/egypt/Egyptian-Afterlife-Beliefs/3182)

So Moses was well aware of this doctrine of eternal torment and never made any mention of it in his writings for Israel. Moses did however consistently warn the people to not go after the false gods of other nations, of which he was well aware. This is compelling evidence that eternal torment was certainly NOT a Jewish teaching.

Jewish Teachings on the Afterlife

The Jewish teachings of afterlife were actually quite vague. There are a number of references to a future resurrection, but no detailed teachings on the subject. Here are some of those verses:

Psa 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell (Sheol); neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Psa 49:15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

Hos 13:14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.

Isa 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.

Eze 37:1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
Eze 37:2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
Eze 37:3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.
Eze 37:4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.
Eze 37:5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
Eze 37:6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Heathen Doctrine of Eternal Punishment

After Israel was set free from slavery in Egypt, they were exposed to different variations of the doctrine of eternal torment through many different cultures. Here is a quote from Mr. Thayer.

“Among the ancient pagans, the belief in a hell of some sort was very general, if not universal. It was known by various names, as Orcus, Erebus, Tartarus, and Infernus or Inferna, whence our expression “infernal regions,” &c. The views current respecting it were different at different periods, and among different nations, according to the degree of civilization, and the genius of the people.” (http://aionios.com/study_notes/origin.of.endless.punishment.pdf Pg. 34)

Virgil wrote the Aeneid between 29 and 19 BC. In his book he quite vividly describes Hell.

“At Hell’s dread mouth a thousand monsters wait; – Grief weeps, and Vengeance bellows in the gate; Base Want, low Fear, and Famine’s lawless rage. And pale Disease, and slow, repining Age: Fierce, formidable Fiends the portals keep, With Pain, Toil, Death, and Death’s half-brother Sleep. There Joys, embittered by Remorse, appear, Daughters of Guilt; here storms destructive War. Mad Discord there her snaky tresses tore; Here stretched on iron beds the Furies roar; And close by Lerna’s hissing monster stands Briareus dreadful with a hundred hands; There stern Geryon raged; and all around Fierce Harpies screamed, and direful Gorgons frowned.” (Pitt’s Aeneid, vi 385, &c.)

Here are two quotes from Mr. Thayer that describe the prevalence of these doctrines among pagan cultures and their use to control the common people, most of which originated in Egypt.

“Anyone at all familiar with the writings of the ancient Greeks or Romans, cannot fail to note how often it is admitted by them that the national religions were the inventions of the legislator and the priest, for the purpose of governing and restraining the common people. Hence, all the early lawgivers claim to have had communications with the gods, who aided them in the preparation of their codes. Zoroaster claimed to have received his laws from a divine source; Lycurgus obtained his from Apollo, Minos of Crete from Jupiter, Numa of Rome from Egeria, Zaleucus from Minerva, &c. The object of this sacred fraud was to impress the minds of the multitude with religious awe, and command a more ready obedience on their part. Hence Augustine says, in his “City of God,” “This seems to have been done on no other account, but as it was the business of princes, out of their wisdom and civil prudence, to deceive the people in their religion; princes, under the name of religion, persuaded the people to believe those things true, which they themselves knew to be idle fables; by this means, for their own ease in government, tying them the more closely to civil society.” B.iV32 (http://aionios.com/study_notes/origin.of.endless.punishment.pdf Pg.36)

Egypt has been called the “Mother of Superstitions,” and her whole religious history shows the propriety of the appellation. Greeks and Romans, Lawgivers and Philosophers, acknowledge their indebtedness to her in this respect, and freely credit her with the original invention of the fables and terrors of the invisible world; though it must be allowed that they have improved somewhat upon the hints given, and shown a wonderful inventive faculty of their own. (http://aionios.com/study_notes/origin.of.endless.punishment.pdf Pg. 37)

Israel was surrounded by pagan nations after being set free from Egypt and had a habit of following after their gods. Thus, the need for these kinds of warnings, are in Deuteronomy.

Deu 6:13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
Deu 6:14 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;
Deu 6:15 (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
Deu 6:16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
Deu 6:17 Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.

Northern Israel was taken captive by the Assyrians in 722 BC, while the southern kingdom was captured by the Babylonians in 586 BC. Israel was no longer a sovereign nation and was just passed from one empire to the next. Alexander the Great and the Greek empire came into power in 333 BC, and then Judea was made a Roman province in 6 AD. During all of Christ’s life Israel was under Roman rule.

The Jews struggled to obey God’s commands and not follow after other gods when they were an independent people, and this undoubtedly got worse when they were taken into captivity. The last book of the Old Testament was written around 445 BC, after the temple in Jerusalem had been rebuilt. From 445 BC until John the Baptist coming on the scene to prepare the way for Christ, there were no prophets in Israel.

The prophets played a very important role in rebuking the people for their disobedience and leading them back to the Lord. Without their presence it was far easier for Israel to follow after other gods and absorb pagan doctrine.

Malachi was the last book of the Old Testament written around 445 B.C. and even at that time that there was already tremendous corruption and disobedience in Israel including the priests. If the priests were corrupt then what does that say about the condition of the people they were supposed to be teaching.

Mal 2:7 For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.
Mal 2:8 But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.
Mal 2:9 Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.

Here is a quote from Thayer regarding the great corruption of the Jews during the silence of the prophets.

“It is allowed on all hands that the Jews in our Savior’s time believed the doctrine of future endless punishment; that it was a part of the common faith. Of course, as the doctrine is nowhere to be found in their Scriptures, the question arises, where did they find it? At the close of the Old Testament Scriptures they did not believe it; at the beginning of the New they did. Between these two points of time there was an interval of some four hundred years, during which there was no prophet in Israel. Malachi was the last of the Hebrew prophets, and from him to Christ there stretches this waste period of four centuries, when the Jews were without any divine teacher or revelation from heaven. And all this while they were in constant and close intercourse with the heathen, especially the Egyptians, the Greeks and Romans, who held the doctrine in review as part of the national faith. From these, therefore, they must have borrowed it, for it is certain that they could not have obtained it from any inspired source, since none was open to them during this period.

Beside, they were, all this time, as one might infer from their previous history, departing further and further from the law, and growing more and more corrupt; till at last they had, as the Savior charges upon them, utterly made void the law of God by their traditions. Mark viiI 9, 13.” (Pg. 45)

Mar 7:5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
Mar 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
Mar 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Mar 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
Mar 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

Mar 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

Here are a few more quotes about the corruption of the Jews from Mr. Thayer and sources that he quotes in his paper.

“This corruption, which began in the time of Ptolemy Philadelphus (B.C. 283), soon spread into Palestine, and everywhere disseminated among the Jews a taste for metaphysical subtleties and mysteries.” Again, he says: “Under the Ptolemies the Jews began to learn the Egyptian and Oriental theology, and to incorporate those foreign dogmas with their ancient creed.” And once more he says: “Some among them were so unfaithful to their country and their God, as to court the favor of the conqueror (Antiochus Epiphanes), by mixing Pagan tenets and superstitions with their own sacred doctrines and ceremonies.” (http://aionios.com/study_notes/origin.of.endless.punishment.pdf Pg 46-47)

“Josephus, who wrote about one hundred and fifty years later, says of the Pharisees: “They believe that souls have an immortal vigor in them, and that under the earth (in Sheol or Hades) there will be rewards and punishments, according as they have lived virtuously or viciously in this life. The latter are to be detained in an everlasting prison; but the former shall have power to revive and live again.” This, it will be seen, is a great advance on the Old Testament Sheol or under-world. We find nothing of this sort among the patriarchs or prophets.” (http://aionios.com/study_notes/origin.of.endless.punishment.pdf Pg 48)

“From the time of the captivity, more especially from the time of the subjection of the Jews, first to the Macedonian empire, and afterwards to the Roman, as they had a closer intercourse with Pagans, they insensibly imbibed many of their sentiments, particularly on those points where their law was silent, 10 and wherein by consequence they considered themselves as at greater freedom. On the subject of a future state, we find a considerable difference in the popular opinions of the Jews, in our Savior’s time, from those which prevailed in the days of the ancient prophets. As both Greeks and Romans had adopted the notion that the ghosts of the departed were susceptible both of enjoyment and of suffering, they were led to suppose a sort of retribution in that state, for their merit or demerit in the present. The Jews did not adopt the pagan fables on this subject, nor did they express themselves, entirely, in the same manner; but the general train of thinking in both came pretty much to coincide.” (Mosheim’s Eccl. Hist. centuries iiI, iV Murdock’s Translation.)

Here is a further description of the Pharisees and Sadducees. There is also some information on the Essenes, also called the Dead Sea Sect.

The Pharisees

The most important of the three were the Pharisees because they are the spiritual fathers of modern Judaism. Their main distinguishing characteristic was a belief in an Oral Law that God gave to Moses at Sinai along with the Torah. The Torah or Written Law was akin to the U.S. Constitution in the sense that it set down a series of laws that were open to interpretation. The Pharisees believed that God also gave Moses the knowledge of what these laws meant and how they should be applied. This oral tradition was codified and written down roughly three centuries later in what is known as the Talmud.

The Pharisees also maintained that an afterlife existed and that God punished the wicked and rewarded the righteous in the world to come. They also believed in a messiah who would herald an era of world peace.

Pharisees were, in a sense, blue-collar Jews who adhered to the tenets developed after the destruction of the Temple; that is, such things as individual prayer and assembly in synagogues.

The Sadducees

The Sadducees were elitists who wanted to maintain the priestly caste, but they were also liberal in their willingness to incorporate Hellenism into their lives, something the Pharisees opposed. The Sadducees rejected the idea of the Oral Law and insisted on a literal interpretation of the Written Law; consequently, they did not believe in an afterlife, since it is not mentioned in the Torah. The main focus of Sadducee life was rituals associated with the Temple.

The (sect of the) Sadducees disappeared around 70 A.D., after the destruction of the Second Temple (see below). None of the writings of the Sadducees survived, so the little we know about them comes from their Pharisaic opponents.

These two “parties” served in the Great Sanhedrin, a kind of Jewish Supreme Court made up of 71 members whose responsibility was to interpret civil and religious laws. (http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/History/sadducees_pharisees_essenes.html)

The Dead Sea Sect

A third faction, the Essenes, emerged out of disgust with the other two. This sect believed the others had corrupted the city and the Temple. They moved out of Jerusalem and lived a monastic life in the desert, adopting strict dietary laws and a commitment to celibacy.

The Essenes are particularly interesting to scholars because they are believed to be an offshoot of the group that lived in Qumran, near the Dead Sea. In 1947, a Bedouin shepherd stumbled into a cave containing various ancient artifacts and jars containing manuscripts describing the beliefs of the sect and events of the time.

The most important documents, often only parchment fragments that had to be meticulously restored, were the earliest known copies of the Old Testament. The similarity of the substance of the material found in the scrolls to that in the modern scriptures has confirmed the authenticity of the Bible used today.

For these very reasons Christ spoke this warning to his disciples.

Mat 16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
Mat 16:7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.
Mat 16:8 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
Mat 16:9 Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
Mat 16:10 Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
Mat 16:11 How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
Mat 16:12 Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

I hope that I have demonstrated clearly to you that eternal torment was a pagan doctrine that the Jews adopted from the pagan cultures around them. When Jesus Christ begins his ministry, the religious teachers of Israel, the Pharisees and Sadducees, were deeply corrupted and teaching the traditions of men and not the commands given to their ancestors by God.

Does the New Testament Teach Endless Torment?

When we read most English translations of the bible, the word hell does appear in the New Testament. We immediately apply a pagan understanding to these verses because to anyone that speaks English, hell almost always implies eternal torment in the afterlife.

Here is how many times the work hell appears in various translations:

King James: 23 English
Standard Version: 14
New King James: 13
Young’s Literal: 0
Concordant Literal: 0

Notice how the literal translations NEVER use the word hell. This is because there are other English words that better represent what was being said in Greek and do not bring with them the preconceived notion of eternal torture. We will cover the Greek words translated as hell in just a moment.

We must keep in mind that everything in the New Testament is based on the Old Testament. In the time of Jesus and the Apostles, the only scriptures they had were those of the Old Testament, until some of the Apostles letters began to be circulated. Therefore they are constantly quoting the Old Testament scriptures and explaining the mystery that had been hidden behind the symbols of the Old Testament.

Col 1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
Col 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

1Co 4:6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

What was written? The Old Testament! The phase “it is written” is used often in the New Testament and always referrers to a quote from the Old Testament.

The first recorded words of Jesus’ public ministry were him reading a quote from Isaiah 61:1-2.

Luk 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
Luk 4:17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias (Isaiah). And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Luk 4:19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

I’m pointing this out because Jesus and the other Apostles were speaking from a Jewish point of view. They believed what was written in the Old Covenant and their understanding of God’s word was not tainted by pagan doctrines. This is very important to understand as we examine the various Greek words translated as hell.

Greek Words Translated as Hell

Hades:

Let’s first look at the word “hades”.
G86
hades hah’-dace
From G1 (as a negative particle) and G1492; properly unseen, that is, “Hades” or the place (state) of departed souls: – grave, hell.

Here is a quote from Mr. Thayer’s paper regarding this word.

“1. HADES. This word occurs eleven times, and is rendered “grave” once, and “hell” ten times. It may be profitable first to consider what one of the most accomplished orthodox scholars says in regard to it. “In my judgment,” says Dr. Campbell, “it ought never in Scripture to be rendered hell, at least in the sense wherein that word is universally understood by Christians. In the Old Testament the corresponding word is Sheol, which signifies the state of the dead in general, without regard to the goodness or badness of the persons, their happiness or misery. It is very plain that neither in the Septuagint version of the Old Testament, nor in the New, does the word hades convey the meaning which the present English word hell, in the Christian usage, always conveys to our minds. The attempt to illustrate this would be unnecessary, as it is hardly now pretended by any critic that this is the acceptation of the term in the Old Testament.” (http://aionios.com/study_notes/origin.of.endless.punishment.pdf Pg. 56)

There are four verses where Jesus himself uses the word hades. He clearly had a Jewish understanding of hades and knew quite well that the Old Testament did not teach eternal torment. He uses this word just like David does in Psalms, to express great calamity.

Mat 11:23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

Psa 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Psa 86:13 For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

Remember that David was not resurrected, but rather was delivered from great calamity.

Here is a better translation of these three verses:

Mat 11:23 And thou, Capernaum, which unto the heaven wast exalted, unto hades shalt be brought down, because if in Sodom had been done the mighty works that were done in thee, it had remained unto this day; (YLT)

Psa 9:17 The wicked do turn back to Sheol, All nations forgetting God. (YLT)

Psa 86:13 For Thy kindness is great toward me, And Thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol. (YLT)

Hades is the Greek equivalent of Sheol, so when Christ is using this word, we must realize that he is referencing the Jewish idea of the grave and not the pagan Greek doctrine of Hades that brings with it the doctrine of eternal torment. It is merely a word used to express great calamity.

One of the most famous verses where Jesus uses the word Hades is in the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. The most important thing to point out is that this is a PARABLE. A parable is a made up story to communicate a point and even if they reference real people these things have not literally happened.

This parable found in Luke 16 is actually one of a series of parables that start in Luke 15.

Luk 15:1 Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
Luk 15:2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
Luk 15:3 And he spake this parable unto them, saying, The Pharisees and scribes were in the group hearing these parables and were murmuring against Christ. Then after they overheard another parable that Christ spoke to his disciples, they derided him.
Luk 16:14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

So the parable about Lazarus and rich man was spoken as a rebuke against the Pharisees.

Luk 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Christ commonly spoke parables containing things that were a part of people’s lives. The parable of Lazarus and the rich man was actually a known story among the Jews.

Here is a quote from Mr. Thayer’s paper.

“The parable of the rich man and Lazarus furnishes another example. “And in hell (hades) he lifted up his eyes, being in torment.” It will be remembered that the Jews had borrowed their ideas of torment in a future state from the heathen, and of course they were obliged to borrow their terms to express this. Accordingly, after the manner of the Greeks, Hades, or the place of departed spirits, is represented as receiving all, as Sheol did, good and bad; but we have also the additional idea of separate apartments or districts, divided by a great gulf or river; on one side of which the blessed are located, and on the other side the damned, near enough to see each other, and converse together, as in the case of Abraham and the rich man.

It must also be remembered that this is only a parable, and not a real history; for, as Dr. Whitby affirms, “we find this very parable in the Gemara Babylonicum.” The story was not new, then, not original with Christ, but known among the Jews before He repeated it. He borrowed the parable from them, and employed it to show the judgment which awaited them. He represented the spiritual favors and privileges of the Jews by the wealth and luxury of the rich man, and the spiritual poverty of the Gentiles by the beggary and infirmity of Lazarus; and while the former would be deprived of their privileges and punished for their wickedness, the latter would enjoy the blessings of truth and faith.” (http://aionios.com/study_notes/origin.of.endless.punishment.pdf Pg. 57)

Here is section of the parable in Luke.

Luk 16:22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.
Luk 16:23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Luk 16:24 Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’
Luk 16:25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.
Luk 16:26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.

Remember back to what the Pharisees were saying at the beginning of this series of parables.

Luk 15:2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

They were the rich man in the parable looking down upon poor Lazarus. Jesus was pointing out they will indeed incur judgment for what they were doing, and he uses a known story to do so. It in no way teaches eternal torment.

Why did Christ speak in parables?

Mat 13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
Mat 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Just like the majority of those listening to the parables in Christ’s time did not understand the true meaning, in the same way most Christians today do not understand that this parable is speaking about them and not someone else. This is a parable about you and me.

We are hypocrites just like the Pharisees when we do not realize that we look down upon and despise others.

Mat 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

When we have been doing evil and we realize we are suffering the judgments of God for this, we will cry out for mercy just like the rich man.

Luk 16:24 Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’

And we are then told that it is impossible to pass from this side of torment to the other side of peace.

Luk 16:26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us. (NKJV)

Notice what Christ says in another parable about a rich man entering heaven.

Mat 19:23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 19:24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
Mat 19:25 When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”
Mat 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (NKJV)

It is impossible to avoid the fiery torment that the rich man suffers, but is this the eternal fire of hell as we have been taught? Fire in the scriptures is used to destroy what is wicked and to purify.

1Co 3:15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet soas through fire.

1Pe 4:12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;
1Pe 4:13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

Jer 5:14 Therefore thus says the LORD God of hosts: “Because you speak this word, Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire, And this people wood, And it shall devour them.

So the rich man will actually be saved by the flames, because it will destroy the evil that is within him. The Pharisees hearing these parables had no idea what Christ was saying, because they were thinking physically according to their pagan doctrines. They had not been given the spirit of God to understand the mystery of salvation through judgment.

Let’s now consider the prophecies of Christ not being left in Hades.

Act 2:27 FOR YOU WILL NOT LEAVE MY SOUL IN HADES, NOR WILL YOU ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO SEE CORRUPTION.

Act 2:29 “Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the Patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
Act 2:30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to himrthat of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,
Act 2:31 he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. (NKJV)

Christ was not delivered from eternal torment in hell and he did not stay in the GRAVE. Remember that Hades is the direct translation of the Hebrew word Sheol which means “the grave”.

Psa 16:10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

Did you know that death and hell (Hades) will be destroyed?

1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Co 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Many teach that the lake of fire is hell which to them is a place of eternal torment. Have you ever read these verses?

Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell (Hades) delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

So death and hell deliver up their dead to be judged, and then death and hell are cast into the lake of fire. We know that death is destroyed, so hell (Hades) must be destroyed as well. If there is no death, and no Hades, then where will people be tortured forever?

The truth is that the judgment we fear is actually what saves us.

Here is a link to a series of studies on the Milk Doctrines found in Hebrews 6. This series explains how judgment is the way God will save all. http://iswasandwillbe.com/articles.php

Gehenna

This word is used 12 times in the New Testament, all of which are spoken by Christ except one use in James.

G1067
ΓEEvva geenna gheh’-en-nah

Of Hebrew origin ([H1516] and [H2011]); valley of (the son of) Hinnom; gehenna (or Ge- Hinnom), a valley of Jerusalem, used (figuratively) as a name for the place (or state) of everlasting punishment: – hell. Here is a quote from Schleusner, a distinguished lexicographer and critic, that discusses the origin of the word “Gehenna”.

“Gehenna, originally a Hebrew word, which signifies valley of Hinnom. Here the Jews placed that brazen image of Moloch. It is said, on the authority of the ancient Rabbins, that to this image the idolatrous Jews were wont not only to sacrifice doves, pigeons, lambs, &c., but even to offer their own children. In the prophecies of Jeremiah (vii 31), this valley is called Tophet, from Toph, a drum; because they beat a drum during these horrible rites, lest the cries and shrieks of the infants who were burned should be heard by the assembly. At length these nefarious practices were abolished by Josiah, and the Jews brought back to the pure worship of God. 2 Kings xxiiI After this they held the place in such abomination that they cast into it all kinds of filth, and the carcasses of beasts, and the unburied bodies of criminals who had been executed. Continual fires were necessary in order to consume these, lest the putrefaction should infect the air; and there were always worms feeding on the remaining relics. Hence it came, that any severe punishment, especially an infamous kind of death, was described by the word Gehenna, or hell.” (Expositor for Sept. 1838; Schleusner’s Lexicon on Asbestos; Iliad, lib. i. 599; Cruse’s Eusebius, lib. vi., chap. 41. Note on page 259.)

When Jesus uses the word Gehenna, he is directly referring to these passages of Jeremiah. Tophet is another name for the valley of the son of Hinnom, or Gehenna.

Jer 7:31 And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.
Jer 7:32 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley
Jer 7:33 And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beast of the earth; and none shall fray them away.
Jer 7:34 Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.

Jer 19:11 And shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Even so will I break this people and this city, as one breaketh a potter’s vessel, that cannot be made whole again:and they shall bury them in Tophet, till there be no place to bury.

To put these verses in context, look at what was said by Jeremiah just one chapter earlier.

Jer 18:3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
Jer 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
Jer 18:5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Jer 18:6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

God is clearly going to break these people like a clay pot, and bury them in Tophet, this place where the most terrible acts of disobedience were committed. But, he also says that we will make it again another vessel.

Remember this verse from earlier:

1Co 3:15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

This phrase “make this city as Tophet”, is meant to express complete and utter destruction, not eternal torment.

Jer 19:12 Thus will I do unto this place, saith the LORD, and to the inhabitants thereof, and even make this city as Tophet:
Jer 19:13 And the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall be defiled as the place of Tophet, because of all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense unto all the host of heaven, and have poured out drink offerings unto other gods.

Remember also that the Old Covenant promises redemption and salvation.

Immediately following in Ezekiel 37 we are given this prophesy of the resurrection.

Israel did not understand what was being promised, but this mystery is revealed in the New Testament.

1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Another study in the Milk Doctrines series is on resurrection.

http://aionios.com/milk-doctrines/

So when Jesus Christ spoke of Gehenna, he was referring to the stories of Tophet in the book of Jeremiah. He knew that Jeremiah 18 spoke of both the destruction of the clay vessel (Israel) and the vessel being made new, symbolizing their redemption.

So now let’s read these following verses with this new perspective.

Mat 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

This is not eternal fire but is a warning that God will destroy our wicked works… remember the promise to make the vessel new as well from Jeremiah 18:4.

Mat 5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell (Gehenna).
Mat 5:30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell (Gehenna).

Is Christ saying that we should literally pluck out our eye or cut off your hand? No, it is a warning that wicked works will be judged because the fire of Gehenna symbolizes God’s Judgment.

Mat 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell(Gehenna) than yourselves.

A child of Gehenna refers to someone that is disobeying God’s commands just like the hypocritical scribes and Pharisees. Keep in mind that we all break God’s commands and will suffer the judgment symbolized by Gehenna fire. This judgment is painful but does work for our good.

Heb 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Heb 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Heb 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Tartarus
G5020
Τ tartaroo tar-tar-o’-o

Definitions:

1. The name of the subterranean region, doleful and dark, regarded by the ancient Greeks as the abode of the wicked dead, where they suffer punishment for their evil deeds; it answers to Gehenna of the Jews to thrust down to Tartarus, to hold captive in Tartarus. (http://www.biblestudytools.com/lexicons/greek/nas/tartaroo.html)

“Thrust down to Tartarus, and hold captive in Tartarus” are examples of how this word are used.

2. Tartarus, or Tartaros (Greek: Τάρταρος, from τάρταρον “tartar encrusting the sides of casks”), is the deep abyss in ancient Greek mythology that is used as a dungeon of torment and suffering for the wicked. A part of Hades (or the underworld) and, in turn, below Uranus (sky), Gaia (earth), and Pontus (sea), Tartarus is the place where, according to Plato in Gorgias (c. 400 BC), souls were judged after death and where the wicked received punishment. Like other primal entities (such as the earth and time), Tartarus is also a primordial force or deity.

Tartarus was used as a prison for the worst of villains, including Cronus and the otherTitans who were thrown in by Zeus. Uranus also threw his own children into Tartarus because he feared they might overthrow him. These mishaps included the “hundred-handed-ones”, the “cyclops” and the “giants”.15 (15 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tartarus)

Just as Gehenna brought powerful memories of destruction for the evil of the Jews, so does Tartarus do this for the Greeks. The Romans adopted much of their mythology from the Greeks, and the Romans were ruling over Israel at the time of Jesus’ ministry and writings of the Apostles thus making this reference to Taratarus quite powerful and relevant to Peter’s audience. In modern times this would be like saying, “your life will be a living hell”. It’s an expression that carries great weight and power given the common beliefs about hell.

So in the following verses Peter is explaining that false prophets will arise, and both these false prophets and those that follow them will suffer judgment from God. He is going to make a reference to Tartarus to express how those living in disobedience are trapped in the abode of death until judgment. Anyone that is carnally minded is spiritually dead. We have a carnal mind while we are yet living, so we can be physical alive and spiritually dead at the same time.

Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Luk 9:60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

2Pe 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.
2Pe 2:2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.
2Pe 2:3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.
2Pe 2:4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell (Tartarus) and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;

The word angel in the Greek and Hebrew both mean messenger. This is not only a spiritual being as we have been often taught but rather can refer to any messenger, which can be a prophet or teacher in the scriptures.

Greek (G32) – aggelos
Hebrew (H4397) – mal’aÌ‚k

We have been these false teachers and have been or will be judged for our false teachings. We have also followed the wisdom of men and believed the lies of the false teachers in the world and in the churches. Until our time comes to be judged we are held in the abode of death, Taratrus, held with chains of darkness, awaiting judgment.

Pro 4:19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

Joh 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Joh 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Anyone that does evil loves the darkness rather than the light and is symbolically trapped in that darkness until Christ drags them to the light to be reproved and judged. Peter is saying we all will be judged for the evil that we do.

2Pe 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

I hope and pray that by now you can see how neither Jesus nor any of the Apostles taught that there would be eternal torment in hell. They all taught that there are severe consequences for evil and that we will all be judged for what we do. While this judgment feels quite grievous and severe as it is happening to us, we will eventually learn to be obedient and then experience the peaceable fruits of righteousness.

Heb 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

The Greek Word Translated as Eternal

Most Bible translations that Christians use today have terribly mistranslated the word “aion” and “aionios” as eternal or forever and ever.

Here is the strong’s definition of this word.

G165
αι ν aion ahee-ohn’

From the same as G104; properly an age; by extension perpetuity (also past); by implication the world; specifically (Jewish) a Messianic period (present or future): – age, course, eternal, (for) ever (-more), [n-]ever, (beginning of the, while the) world (began, without end). Compare G5550.

Here is another form of “aion” that we will look at as well. It is basically the adjective form of “aion”. So for example: hour is to hourly as aion is to aionios.

G166
αι νιος aionios ahee-o’-nee-os

From G165; perpetual (also used of past time, or past and future as well): – eternal, forever, everlasting, world (began).

In order to support the false doctrine of eternal punishment in hell these words have been distorted from their original meaning. Properly it means “an age” as Strong’s indicates above. However, the translators and commentators “extend” the definition to perpetuity.

Here are some examples of how different Bible versions translate this one word. First let me point out that the same word G165 is used in both places in this verse. The first time it is “eternal” then the SAME WORD is used for “time” or “world”.

Tit 1:2 in the hope of eternal (G166) life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time (G166),

Tit 1:2 in hope of eternal (G166) life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time(G166) began, (NKJV)

Tit 1:2 in hope of eternal (G166) life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages (G166) began, (ESV)

Tit 1:2 This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal(G166) life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world (G166) began. (NLT)

Do you see how conflicting this is? Here is the definition of our English word “eternal”.

Eternal – “without beginning or end; lasting forever; always existing (opposed to temporal): eternal life.”

  • Dictionary.com

How can the same word that supposedly means “without beginning or end” be translated as time, ages, and world? All of these have a beginning, and as we will see later the ages and the world will come to an end.

Here are two literal translations that are far more accurate:

Tit 1:2 in expectation of life eonian, which God, Who does not lie, promises before times eonian (CLV)

Tit 1:2 upon hope of life age-during, which God, who doth not lie, did promise beforetimes of ages, (YLT)

To underscore this point, let’s look at a few other verses:

Rom 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world (G166) began, (KJV)

Rom 16:25 Now to Him Who is able to establish you in accord with my evangel, and the heralding of Christ Jesus in accord with the revelation of a secret hushed in times eonian(G166), (CLV)

I want to show you how badly the translators twist the Greek in order to make it fit their doctrine. Notice that there are TWO Greek works behind the translation of the word “world”.

Rom 16:25 NowG1161 to him that is of powerG1410 to stablishG4741 youG5209 accordingG2596 to myG3450 gospel,G2098 andG2532 theG3588 preachingG2782 of JesusG2424 Christ,G5547 accordingG2596 to the revelationG602 of the mystery,G3466 which was kept secretG4601 since the world began,G5550 G166

The first word is “G5550 – chronos” meaning time, and the second “G166- aionios” meaning pertaining to an age. In the KJV they just ignore both words and translate it as “world”. To demonstrate the inconsistency, there is a different word used to refer to the world:

G2889

Κ ος kosmos kos’-mos

Probably from the base of G2865; orderly arrangement, that is, decoration; by implication the world (in a wide or narrow sense, including its inhabitants, literally or figuratively [morally]): – adorning, world.

Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world(G2889), that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world (G2889). A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Aionios and kosmos are clearly two very different words with very different meanings. When the writers of the New Testament wanted to talk about the physical world, they used kosmos, and when they wanted to discuss the ages they used aion or aionios. To translate both as world is very misleading. Remember, God has caused this to hide the meaning from the masses.

Let’s look at one more example, this time in the NIV.

2Ti 1:9 He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, (NIV)

This is the exact same phrase as Romans 16:25, chronos aionios. This should be translated as “times eonian”, or the “times of the ages”. However NIV inserts a word that is not in the Greek. There is not a word for “beginning” in the Greek. Look for yourself below:

2Ti 1:9 Who hath savedG4982 us,G2248 andG2532 calledG2564 us with an holyG40 calling,G2821 notG3756 accordingG2596 to ourG2257 works,G2041 butG235 accordingG2596 to his ownG2398 purposeG4286 andG2532 grace,G5485 which was givenG1325 usG2254 inG1722 ChristG5547 JesusG2424 beforeG4253 the world began,G5550 G166

G5550 – chronosG166 – aionios

Nowhere in all of the scriptures does “aionios” ever mean the beginning or began, yet this is how they are translating the word here. These are just a few of the examples of how “aionios” is not translated correctly.

Here is a section of Mr. Thayer’s paper that describes how Greek authors use the words aion and aionios, which clearly demonstrates that it does NOT mean eternal.

2. Usage of Greek Authors. The Greek writers constantly employ these words in a way to exclude the idea of endless, and to illustrate the meaning of indefinite time, the duration to be determined by the general scope of the subject.

Plato has the phrase “eternal (aionios) drunkenness;” but one can hardly believe he meant endless drunkenness.

Eusebius, one of the early Christian writers, speaking of the Phoenician philosophy as presented by Sanchoniathon, says of the darkness and chaos which preceded creation: “They continued for a long eternity” – (dia polun aiona). Here the word is qualified by long, showing that eternity means simply age or time indefinite, long or short.

“And these they called aionios, eternal, hearing that they had performed the sacred rites for three entire generations.” In Solom. Parab. This eternity was three generations long, or about one hundred years. “Alter not the eternal boundaries.” If “eternal” implied endless, they could not be altered.

In a poem ascribed to Errina Lesbia there is a similar use of the adjective “greatest” in connection with aion – “the greatest eternity that overturns all things,” &c., ho megistos aion. The greatest eternity implies a less one; and is demonstrative proof that the noun aion and the adjective aionios convey the idea not of strictly endless duration, but only of duration indefinitely continued.

Philo and Josephus wrote in Greek, though Jews by birth. The former uses the very phrase found in Matt. xxv 46, “everlasting punishment” – kolasis aionios – as follows: – Speaking of the manner in which certain persons retaliate an injury, he designates it as “a deep hatred and everlasting punishment.” Of course the everlasting punishment in this case is inflicted by men in this life, and cannot, therefore, last much above “three-score years and ten.”

Josephus employs the word in such phrases as these: “the everlasting name of the patriarchs;” “the everlasting glory of the Jewish nation,” which ended two thousand years ago; “the everlasting reputation” of Herod; “the everlasting worship” in the temple, which also ceased nearly eighteen hundred years ago; “the everlasting imprisonment” to which John, the tyrant, was condemned by the Romans, though it could not continue but a few years at most.

These Jewish-Greek authors were contemporary with the New Testament authors, and are therefore good authority for the usage and meaning of the words in review, embracing both the Greek and Jewish elements. Philo and Josephus, Matthew and Luke, allowing for the difference in education, stood in the same relation to the Greek language, and the Jewish usage of it, and what may be affirmed of one may be affirmed with equal force of the others. And, surely, nothing is more obvious than that the first named did not understand the words aion and aionios as meaning anything more than indefinite time.

Another decisive fact is this: The Sibylline Oracles, Clemens Alexandrinus, Origen, and others of the Christian Fathers, who are acknowledged believers and teachers of the final restoration, often use the phrases “everlasting fire,” “everlasting punishment,” &c., in regard to the wicked. Nothing can more conclusively show that the expressions are not to be taken in the sense of endless; for, though they believed in everlasting punishment, they also believed it would end in the restoration of those who suffered. (http://aionios.com/study_notes/origin.of.endless.punishment.pdf Pg. 70)

3. Scripture Usage. The Scripture usage will be found in perfect harmony with the foregoing facts. The Hebrew word, which is the equivalent of the Greek, is thus used: “I will give thee the land of Canaan for an everlasting possession.” Gen. xvii 8. And in verse 12, the covenant of circumcision is called “an everlasting covenant.” And yet the Jews were driven from the land of Canaan, and the covenant of circumcision was abolished, eighteen hundred years ago! So the priesthood of Aaron is called “an everlasting priesthood,” and yet it was put aside by God’s authority, and the priesthood of Christ set up in its place. Exod. xl. 15.

Now, did Jehovah use this word “everlasting” to mean endless? If He did, then He has broken His promise to the Jews in three several instances; or, if not this, the priesthood of Christ is an imposture, and the old Covenant of the Law is still in force! See, also, Levit. xvi 34, xxv 46; Exod. xxi 6.

Jonah ii 1-6, is another illustration, where “forever” lasted only three days and three nights! showing the folly of arguing for the endlessness of punishment on the strength of such elastic words as these. The punishment of Jonah is described by the term “forever,” though it lasted only seventy- two hours; and there is no more reason for supposing the term to mean endless in other cases, when applied to punishment, than here. There is no more authority for saying the “everlasting punishment” of Matt. xxv 46, is endless, than for saying the “forever” punishment of Jonah, or the “everlasting priesthood” of Exod. xl. 15, is endless.”

Here is a marvelous quote from Mr. Thayer’s paper that demonstrates thoroughly that the Greek and Hebrew words translated as everlasting without a doubt do not have that meaning in scripture.

“We see the word everlasting applied to God’s covenant with the Jews; to the priesthood of Aaron; to the statutes of Moses; to the time the Jews were to possess the land of Canaan; to the mountains and hills; and to the doors of the Jewish temple. We see the word forever applied to the duration of a man’s earthly existence; to the time a child was to abide in the temple; to the continuance of Gehazi’s leprosy; to the duration of the life of David; to the duration of a king’s life; to the duration of the earth; to the time the Jews were to possess the land of Canaan; to the time they were to dwell in Jerusalem; to the time a servant was to abide with his master; to the time Jerusalem was to remain a city; to the duration of the Jewish temple; to the laws and ordinances of Moses; to the time David was to be king over Israel; to the throne of Solomon; to the stones that were set up at Jordan; to the time the righteous were to inhabit the earth; and to the time Jonah was in the fish’s belly. We find the phrase forever and ever applied to the hosts of heaven, or the sun, moon, and stars; to a writing contained in a book; to the smoke that went up from the burning land of Idumea; and to the time the Jews were to dwell in Judea. We find the word never applied to the time the fire was to burn on the Jewish altar; to the time the sword was to remain in the house of David; to God’s covenant with the Jews; to the time the Jews should not experience shame; to the time the house of David was to reign over Israel; to the time the Jews were not to open their mouths because of their shame; to the time those who fell by death should remain in their fallen state; and to the time judgment was not executed.

But the law covenant is abolished; the priesthood of Aaron and his sons has ceased; the ordinances, and laws, and statutes of Moses are abrogated; the Jews have long since been dispossessed of the land of Canaan, have been driven from Judea, and God has brought upon them a reproach and a shame; the man to the duration of whose life the word forever was applied is dead; David is dead, and has ceased to reign over Israel; the throne of Solomon no longer exists; the Jewish temple is demolished, and Jerusalem has been overthrown, so that there is not left “one stone upon another;” the servants of the Jews have been freed from their masters; Gehazi is dead, and no one believes he carried his leprosy with him into the future world; the stones that were set up at Jordan have been removed, and the smoke that went up from the burning land of Idumea has ceased to ascend; the righteous do not inherit the earth endlessly, and no one believes that the mountains and hills, as such, are indestructible; the fire that burnt on the Jewish altar has long since ceased to burn; judgment has been executed; and no Christian believes that those who fall by death will never be awakened from their slumbers. Now, as these words are used in this limited sense in the Scriptures, why should it be supposed that they express endless duration when applied to punishment?” (http://aionios.com/study_notes/origin.of.endless.punishment.pdf Pg. 70-72)

So now with this new understanding of the words aion and aionios let’s examine all the scriptures that supposedly support the doctrine of eternal torment.

Jud 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

We discussed this verse much earlier in this paper and saw that the fire that burned Sodom and Gomorrah is certainly not burning today and therefore it is NOT eternal.

Jud 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
Jud 1:13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever (aion).

We saw earlier in 2 Peter 2:4 that the disobedient are reserved in darkness to be reserved for judgment. How can this mean forever if it is a temporary state of bondage in darkness until judgment?

2Pe 2:4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell (Tartarus) and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;

2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
2Th 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting (aionios) destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

This destruction is thorough and complete resulting in our salvation, and undoubtedly it is not a perpetual never ending punishment.

Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Here is a better translation of this verse:

Rev 14:11 and the smoke of their torment doth go up to ages of ages; and they have no rest day and night, who are bowing before the beast and his image, also if any doth receive the mark of his name. (YLT)

In Greek ages of ages is aionios aionios, which is the same grammatical construction as holy of holies – hagion hagion. Just as holy of holies indicates that of all the holy places this is the most holy, so does ages of ages point out that of all the ages, the ages of judgment is the most important. The ages of judgment are when our process of salvation begins. This study covers this topic in far greater detail. (http://aionios.com/2012-09/ages-eons/)

Heb 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Eternal judgment is the last of the Milk Doctrines which describes a process of judgment that lasts for a period of time long enough to chasten us from all evil and make us like Christ.

Our last verse is a quote from Christ himself.

Mat 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting (aionios) punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

It has been clearly demonstrated that Christ did not mean the punishment was eternal but rather an intense process that destroys all of the evil within us.

So this question follows, “If punishment is not eternal, then is life in Christ not eternal?”

The life of this age is to know Jesus Christ and his doctrine, and to do what he commands.

Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal (aionios), that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

This age is the age in which all of mankind is brought to the knowledge of Christ and saved. After this is accomplished, the age of salvation is over, but that does not mean that we cease to know Christ or dwell with him because we will then be immortal.

1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

After death is destroyed and everyone has been redeemed, then the fullness of God’s spirit will be within all.

1Co 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

God has no beginning and no end. If his Spirit is within us and we are immortal then we will forever dwell with him and the rest of humanity in perfect unity.

Conclusion

I hope and pray that God will give you the ability to see that he is not going to torture anyone forever, but rather desires that all men will be saved and accomplishes this through his righteous judgment.

1Ti 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

God wills that all men are to be saved, and he does all his pleasure.

Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Here are Jesus Christ’s own words.

Joh 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

The understanding that hell is not eternal torment and that God is going to save all men through a process of judgment is part of the Milk of the word of God. If you are just now realizing this marvelous truth, then it is a joyous time to finally see the true Gospel of God. You are now a babe in Christ. You will need to study and learn the Milk Doctrines, and then progress beyond that to strong meat of the word. There are many more mysteries of God hidden in his word to be discovered.

1Pe 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.

Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Heb 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Pray that the Lord would make you humble and teachable like a little child, for you have only scratched the surface of the mysteries of God.

Mat 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Biblical Truth

How God Delivers On His Covenant Promises

stars of the heavensContrary to the teachings of the churches and the carnal doctrines believed by all but a very few, God does not need anything from man to make good on His promises. Nothing.

Act 17:25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things

This is because God is working ALL THINGS in our lives. I had a busy day today, wrestling with beasts and contending with religious spirits that stand in opposition to Christ and His doctrine. I wanted to remind and encourage all that still doubt the sovereignty of God to review the promises of the New Covenant and remember how God made covenant with Abraham.

Heb 6:13-14 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

The Abrahamic covenant is the covenant of faith and is the one God swore on an oath to fulfill and will bring to pass. This quite simply is the salvation of all men. But all of us will walk in unbelief not believing nor understanding this covenant promise that God swore by.  We will think it is up to us to take actions to save ourselves.  The salvation of all men, the very essence of the good news and the promises of God is foretold to us in many places and the first of those are shown below.

Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Gen 28:14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

Any time you see a reference to the dust of the earth, God is speaking about ALL MEN.  Few shall be saved in this life, God’s very Elect but in the end,  all men shall be saved and their numbers shall be as the dust of the earth, the stars of the heavens and the sands of the sea.  These symbols foretell God’s purposes and His plans to save all men in the appointed times for each.  Here are just a few more of the hundreds of witnesses for the salvation of all men.  May those with ears hear these wonderful truths.

Gen 13:16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

Hos 1:10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

Gen 15:5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

The truth is right here.  All shall be sons of the living God in the end.  We cannot count the stars, the sand, the dust,  this is God telling those given ears to hear that all men shall be saved.  The salvation of all men in God’s appointed time is the blessing that shall come, not might come to all the families and nations of the earth. God swore this on an oath and He is not a man that He should lie.

Num 23:19  God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

God will make good on His promises to save all men.  That is the gospel of good news and it depends not upon man’s free will.

If we go review the promise of the new covenant, which is really the fulfillment of the promise made to Abram, it might surprise some to see that there is no YOU involved in making any of it come to pass. All things are of God and it is especially true that salvation is all of the Lord.

Jon 2:9 Salvation is of the LORD.

This fact that the delivery on the promise of the new covenant is 100% of God and 0% man is seen on both Jeremiah and Ezekiel version of the promise. Let’s take a quick look at each.

There is no YOU DO ANYTHING here in Jeremiah, it is all I WILL says the Lord. The Lord does it all, He works in each of us according to His will to accomplish all of His good pleasure. This should be no surprise because that is what Paul repeated many times in his epistles to the early church.

Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will

Now let’s take a look at what the prophet Ezekiel was given by God to speak.

Eze 36:22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
Eze 36:23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
Eze 36:24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
Eze 36:28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
Eze 36:29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
Eze 36:30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.

IT IS ALL OF GOD – GOD DOES IT ALL

What perfect consistency. There is no YOU WILL any of this.  NONE.   God is doing it all. All the things essential for salvation are the work of God. The giving of faith, the granting of repentance, the filling with an earnest deposit of the Holy Spirit, all things are of God. None of it is the work of man. Our job is to believe and even that is given to us by God.

Joh 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

God even tells us why He does it here in Ezekiel 36:22.   The word says He does it to sanctify His great name. Nothing delights the Lord more than to show mercy, He delights in mercy and it is only by His mercy that He reveals Himself to us and brings salvation upon our house.

Nothing brings more glory to God than to turn all of His enemies into His friends and that is exactly what God is going to do.

Psa 66:1 To the chief Musician, A Song or Psalm. Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:

Psa 66:2 Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.
Psa 66:3 Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.
Psa 66:4 All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.

This is all the work of a great God who created us flawed on purpose to teach us and to remake us and to bring great honor for His namesake. Christ is the Savior and it is HIM doing all of it. He gave us the wicked deceitful hearts all men are born with and only He will change those hearts when the day and hour ordained for us to be changed arrives. Oh praise God for His goodness and His mercies which endure forever.

Php 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

We can take the promises of God to the bank.  God is faithful even when we are not. All men shall be saved which means delivered of their sins and washed clean. Even right now Christ is seated in the heavens and is not imputing our sins and trespasses against us. He is working all those things to bring about His good and perfect will in our lives in the times ordained of the Father. This is the good news and it becomes real to us only when we are granted the faith to believe it.   If only men would trust in God and not in their delusion of free will and their own strength, initiative and carnal understanding.

Isa 26:4  Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

Yet all of us will at first deny the Lord and will lean on our own understanding and think it is about us choosing and doing all these things to save ourselves.  But that is not the way of God. He is the Savior and the Deliverer and His arm is not too short to save all men.  He has declared that from the beginning and He will bring it to pass.  Far greater blessing to believe that now and trust in HIM.

Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Heb 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

The days are coming and now are that the dead are hearing the voice of Christ and are awakening to the righteousness that is found only by faith in this good news. I hope you will join me in believing this report.

Isa 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

The circumcision of all men will happen.  It will be accomplished without hands and flesh and the free will of man will have no part in bringing it to pass.  Until we are brought to the place to believe this we will continue to oppose the true work of God.

Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

Why Serve Christ if All Will Be Saved Anyway?

John 12:32  And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw ALL peoples to Myself

Jesus Christ is the Savior of the entire world.  This is certain and salvation is assured for all of God’s creation, it is only a matter of God’s appointed times and sequences to bring this blessed hope to fruition.  The following is a post written by a true brother in Christ and is shared here for the edification of all the saints who have been given ears to hear.  This post will address a common objection carnal man has to this glorious gospel of good news for all.

1 TIM 4:10  For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of ALL men, especially of those who believe. 11 These things command and teach.

I get this question all the time on why we would obey God if all men are saved.  But to tell you the truth, I felt the same way when I was first told the truth about God saving everyone. I have had an interest in God’s Word from my youth and was familiar enough to know that the KJV mentioned eternal torment in several places. My first reaction was, “How could anyone be so foolish as to doubt that hell was eternal? After all, anyone can read in Revelation 14 that ‘The smoke of their torment ascended up forever, and they have no rest day or night.”

But I was working with the only knowledge that I had at that time. I did not know that the word translated ‘forever’ was actually ‘aion’, the Greek word for ‘age.’

If any of you are truly interested in knowing the truth of God’s Word on this subject, please get a copy of “The Restitution Of All Things”, written over 150 years ago by a truly great scholar, Andrew Jukes. You will be amazed at how careful the translators were to give this word the meaning they wanted it to have.  This statement is a joke LOL.  Their translation had to accord with the teachings of the Church of England. Otherwise, King James, the head of the Church of England, could have fired them and declared them heretics and had them put to death. To make this one little word ‘aion’ and its adjective form ‘aionian’ conform to church doctrine, the translators were forced to contort it into 18 different English words and sometimes into complete phrases like “course of time.”  Can you believe that even in the Book of Ephesians this word AION is translated into NINE different English words with far reaching meanings that dramatically affect the message. These errors have immersed themselves into every corner of Christianity which has brought to fulfillment Christ’s prophecy that faith would be hard to find when He returns to the earth.

Luke 18:8  when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?

Jesus will find it but it will not be in very many.  Only the very few, His very elect will have faith on this earth.  My friends I urge you all to read this book from Andrew Jukes.  Especially those who had made the KJV Bible their idol.   Ask God to show you His mind. You will be blown away with the depth of the deceit used to further this lie against the character of a loving heavenly Father.

The answer to the question Why Serve Christ Now If All Will Be Saved Anyway is found throughout the gospels in the words of Christ, and it is also found in the book of Revelation. Christ tells us:

Mat 5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. (Gehenna,)

Mat 5:30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. (Gehenna,)

In Revelation 20 we are told that “death and hell” are “destroyed” in the lake of fire, which Christ here refers to as “Gehenna.”

Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

1Co 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

Christ did not speak English and was not familiar with the English word ‘hell.’ ‘Gehenna,’ the word translated ‘hell’ here, is a valley just south of Jerusalem where garbage and the bodies of criminals were cast to be burned up. The flies would often lay their eggs on the bodies of the criminals and grow into maggots and mature into flies before the bodies would be burnt. Those are the so-called ‘immortal’ “worms [which] dieth not.” No maggot that matures into a fly ever dies as a maggot.

Now look at this verse in Revelation:

Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. (((This is the first resurrection.))))

Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

There is the scriptural answer to the question posed by this post:

If all men will eventually be saved, what is the purpose of serving Christ now, as a Christian, since every one will be saved eventually. One might as well live a sinful life, and enjoy its pleasures.  Let’s just eat, drink and be merry some may want to say.

If our carnal nature is so ungrateful ((((for the opportunity to rule with Christ,)))) as opposed to being cast into a figurative lake of fire which will “destroy death,” and therefore also destroy ‘hades,’ that is, the grave, then we will NOT be in that “Blessed and holy… first resurrection.” We will instead be raised after the thousand years.

We will come up from our graves in what is called the “great white throne judgment.” And we will at that time be “cast into the lake of fire.” But we are plainly told that it is better to endure that fire now, and be judged now, rather than to have the attitude of ‘Well, I’m going to be saved anyway, so I’ll just live for the flesh and pay the price later.’

1Pe 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

The fiery trials of the elect are their ‘judgment day.’ This is not called ‘the lake of fire.’ That phrase is reserved for —-THE SO CALLED DAMNED, as the poor translators that were influenced by the opinions of men in creating most English bibles today.

They are NOT eternally damned’ as taught by the orthodox church. The word damned is the same word translated —— CONDEMNED—– Here is what we are told of that later JUDGEMENT THE LATTER —-CONDEMNATION

1Co 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves [now], we should not be judged [later with the world].
1Co 11:32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned [to a later chastening judgment] with the world.

Now what is the scriptural purpose of any loving Father when He judges His children? Here is the scriptural purpose for all Godly judgment:

1Co 11:32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord

So you see, those in the first resurrection are special to God and through those very people God will bring in the rest of mankind.

Rom 11:30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
Rom 11:31 Even so have these [all] also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
Rom 11:32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

This “mercy” of ours is the chastening ‘torment’ Joseph put his brothers through. We too, just as Joseph was, will be used to display God’s mercy in the coming ages:

Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us [even now] sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Eph 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

We are the “firstfruits,” but we are not the ‘only fruits.’ The “feast of firstfruits” in the beginning of the year, precedes the “feast of in gatherings” at the end of the year. Any farmer knows that the firstfruits are not as great in numbers as are the later fruits. But the first fruits are always special to a farmer because they are always much bigger and better that the later fruits. And so we are told:

1Ti 4:10 For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we [the few chosen] trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially [but not exclusively] of those that believe [believe now while on this earth].

1Ti 4:11 THESE THINGS COMMAND AND TEACH!

Do you know of any church which dares to “command and teach” this simple gospel truth? There is not one single church in all of orthodox Christianity that believes this verse of God’s Word.

There are so few places to actually find the truth these days.  The apostasy is so bad and is as bad outside of the churches as it is on the inside.  Consider these verses:

Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ to all and on all them that believe: for there is no difference:

No difference between the saved at this time, and the unsaved in this age because every body eventually will be saved BUT….. BUT….. There is a great difference as far as ruling during the thousand years is concerned.

Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one [Adam] judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

1Cor 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1Tim 2:3 For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

1Tim 2:4 WHO —–WILL—– HAVE ALL MEN TO BE SAVED —-AND—- COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF TRUTH.

Notice the Scripture says WHO WILL HAVE ALL MEN TO BE SAVED not maybe or might.  NO FRIENDS SALVATION IS SURE! This guarantee applies not only to salvation but also that ALL would come to knowledge of the truth.  That is very good news and is the gospel preached by the Apostles and preached today by those called for that purpose by the Lord Himself.

Consider also my brothers and sisters, these wonderful promise from Peter and John.

2Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack CONCERNING HIS PROMISE, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, —-NOT WILLING— that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

An ALMIGHTY GOD gets what He wants. Nothing will stand in the way of God accomplishing His purposes and will for all of His creation.  Nothing and that certainly includes the free will of any man or woman.

1John 2:2 And he [Christ] is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Amazing that we can read right through these Scriptures and explain them away with the doctrines of devils like eternal torment in hell.  But we have been so blinded by false doctrines and traditions from The Babylonish ‘Mother of harlots’ that we have allow the hypnotic effect of the lie of eternal torment to keep our eyes from seeing the true gospel. Eternal hell-fire for most of mankind, or for that matter eternal death as some claim, is not ‘good news at all.  The good news believed on by the vast majority of professing Christians is very bad news.  How else could one label a belief or a gospel that has 99% plus of all humanity suffering forever in torment in front of the Lamb that created them?  Think about it?  Billions and trillions of years, never-ending torment.  And yet these same people will claim that God is love.   And the multitudes believe it still – WOW.

The fact that God “Works all things After The Counsel of His Own Will,” and the fact that “AS IN Adam all die, EVEN SO in Christ will all men be made alive” truly is good news for mankind.  The sooner one comes to believe this, the sooner their lives will be eternally changed and the amazing blessings and promises of God will begin to transform their lives.  This blessing is reserved just for the few and none of us know who they are except for the one who has chosen them all from the foundations of the world.

Eph 1:4  Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes

Just because God has decided to save all men, therefore we should not act ungrateful for our special calling by continuing to live in sin, as if this ‘lake of fire is something to take lightly. Nothing could be further from the truth!  To whom much is given, much more will be expected said Jesus.  The love God planted in our hearts for Him is going to be our GPS compass.  We will desire to obey because He has saved us, not as an act or duty we do to save ourselves or even to confirm the work of Jesus on the cross.

Joseph’s brothers typify that ‘lake of fire experience.’ If we consider God to be a “hard man”, then He will show Himself that way to us in the judgment.  BROTHERS AND SISTERS READING THIS PLEASE READ SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY AS THERE IS REALLY GOOD WISDOM IN THE STORY OF JOSEPH.

Just as Joseph showed himself to his brothers when they came down into Egypt to buy grain. They were “tormented in the presence of the lamb” who was listening to them confess that this was happening to them because of what they had done to their brother Joseph. Joseph heard every word his brothers spoke because they did not realize who he was as (((((he had spoken to them through an interpreter.))))  Please familiarize yourself with this these events as told in Genesis Chapters 48 thru 50 primarily.

I do not think many realize how miserable Joseph’s brothers’ lives were while they were enduring this ‘lake of fire’ experience. It is not something to be taken lightly. Even though their lives were never in danger, they were “hard men” and therefore perceived their brother as such many years after he had shown himself to them as their savior:

Seventeen years after Israel (Jacob), Joseph’s father came into Egypt he died. During all those years Joseph’s brothers were still so full of their ‘eternal hell fire” attitude, so to speak, that they still did not know their own brother for who he really was. They still believed that he was the same kind of orthodox Christian, as it were, as they were. They thought that just as soon as Jacob their father died, that Joseph would exact his revenge. They were living out the words Jesus spoke “I knew you were a hard man,” said the “wicked and slothful servant.”

But look now as Joseph reveals for us why God created ALL evil:

Gen 50:19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?

Gen 50:20 But as for you, ye thought —– evil—- against me; but God meant it [That very ‘evil,’ and all evil is what God means] UNTO GOOD to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Gen 50:21 Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.

That is what a loving Father does to His wayward children. He torments them in their own ways till they are purified of their sins:

Psa 18:26 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.

Luk 19:22 And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:

The ‘master’ had done nothing of the kind, for he had given this servant one talent to work with, but “to the froward He showed Himself froward.” Do you think God will not redeem his marred vessel which He has created marred? Beware that ‘lake of fire.’ It is composed of a resurrection full of Josephs whose orthodox Christian brothers have sold them into Egypt for a few silver coins.

Isa 33:14 The sinners in Zion [‘Zion’ is a spiritual code for the elect] are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with THE DEVOURING FIRE? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

That is a fair question. Who is this ‘lake of fire? It is not at all what you have been told. It most certainly is not an eternal hell.  Rather it is:

Isa 33:15 He that walks righteously, and speaks uprightly; he that despise the gain of oppressions, that shake his hands from holding of bribes, that stop his ears from hearing of blood, and shutts his eyes from seeing evil;

Isa 33:16 He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

This “devouring fire and everlasting burnings” is the word of God in the mouths of the Josephs who will come up in that “blessed and holy…first resurrection.” It is even now purging the lies that have been told about our loving heavenly Father from the minds of those “few chosen” called “out of” the “many called,”

Referring specifically to the churches of orthodox Christianity, the Holy Spirit gives us all this stern warning:

Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakes of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

The churches of Christianity do accomplish a lot of very good works. They are being used of God to bring the name of Christ to billions of God’s creatures. At the very same time, it is these very works which are used of God to deceive so very many. Though they be ‘many wonderful works,’ whenever we deny God’s Words, we are denying Christ Himself!

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

The ‘hell fire’ of Matthew 5 is as figurative as the “cutting off” of one’s limbs in those same verses. Compare these two statements of our loving and merciful Savior. First this:

Mat 5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

And then just a few verses later:

Mat 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Are we to believe that God wants you and me to “love our enemies” while He Himself does nothing of the kind, but rather roasts His enemies and many of our loved ones in real physical fire for all eternity?  NO of course not.  God has given us the same rules and has the same desires as given to Jesus.  His will is to conform us into the image and likeness of His Son.

It is time that we repent of such blasphemy and come out of all of the lies of the orthodox Christian whore who tells herself…:

Rev 3:17I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

I hope this helps see that the saving of all is not a very good excuse to do all the carnal things that the carnal mind wants to do. I hope that someone sees that even though God will bring all to Himself, that in the meantime He is judging mankind and ‘making him anew the few chosen as seems good to the Potter.’

Jer 18:1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
Jer 18:2 Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
Jer 18:3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
Jer 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

“Where sin abounds, grace does much more abound” is not an encouragement to continue in sin. It is rather a stern warning that “grace chastens…us to forsake ungodliness and worldly lusts”.  Once we come to know of God’s complete sovereignty,  we will begin to understand the fear of the Lord.

Tit 2:10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Tit 2:12 Teaching [Greek- paideuo – chastening] us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

“all is of God” even the very evil of Joseph’s brothers.

Rom 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Pro 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Pro 20:24 Man’s goings [good or evil] are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?

When God opens our eyes and brings His chosen ones into the saving faith of Christ  there will be no escape from the chastening grace of God.   As our love for all men grows, especially for those in the faith,   we will learn obedience by the things we will suffer.  When we make a mistake and sin, we will know it as the Holy Spirit will convict our hearts and we will repent and confess our sins before God and our fellow brothers and sisters.   Those in the faith will ultimately be all men in the ages to come.  Coming to faith in this body of flesh is not a defining limitation of an Almighty God whose hand is not too short to save all men.   But what a great blessing to be chosen for faith now and to be called of God for service and ministry.  Does anyone really want to contemplate how or why a saved person would take on a “let’s party” or live it up lifestyle knowing of this great goodness and mercy of our Father in heaven?

Those chosen of God are not working for salvation or even trying to keep it.  All of this carnal arguing amongst Christian camps over OSAS and eternal security is such foolishness once God reveals the truth.  Salvation is assured and is all of the Lord’s doing and He already finished it.   This is the blessed hope of this glorious gospel for all men.  The promises made to the fathers of faith will come to pass.  God’s oath He swore to Abraham will be fulfilled.

So why don’t we live for ourselves and make the most of fulfilling our carnal lusts?  It is because the grace of God that is working in our hearts.  The chosen of God work for the Lord out of love.  This love God Himself put into our hearts as the Scriptures declare.  Our knowledge of the greater glory and the prize that lies ahead for those who endure all the way and remain faithful to their calling gives us incentive to strive for perfection.  The higher calling is a crown of righteousness which will give us the honor of ruling and reigning with Christ in the coming reign on earth.  The answer to the question really comes down to understanding the certainty of salvation and the role the Elect of God will play in the future.

REV 20:6  Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection

More to come on these topic at this website very soon God willing.

The Enduring Mercy of God

Isaiah 49:13  Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people, And will have mercy on His afflicted.

Rejoice my friends, I bring you good news and tidings.

The corrupting of God’s enduring nature of love and mercy has greatly corrupted the gospel handed down to the Apostles and described in our Bibles.  This Satanic doctrine of eternal torment makes God into a Monster and opposes the true work of God’s workers.  When this lie and idol is removed from our hearts, then we can see clearly the deeper truth that was always right there in the Scriptures.  God just would not allow us to see it until we come to know His true nature and character.  He really is a good God that has been made into the image of the beast by the minds of carnal man.

Psalm 107:1  O give thanks unto the LORD, for HE IS GOOD: for his mercy endureth for ever

Mercy and agape love go hand and hand.   There are scores of places that tell us God’s mercy endures forever which is directly opposed to the doctrine of an eternal torment.  Few are getting this yet, but here is something to think about.  There is no double standard on how we as God’s people are to forgive and sow mercy versus how God forgives and sows mercy.  We are to be conformed into God’s own likeness and image.  We are to be always forgiving and always merciful, no exceptions.  Did you know that the LORD delights in being merciful?  Who or what is going to stand in the way of an ALMIGHTY GOD.  Consider this Scripture as it brings to fulfillment the oath our God swore to Abraham.

Micah 7:19  He does not retain His anger forever, Because He DELIGHTS in mercy. 19 He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities.

You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea. 20 You will give truth to Jacob And mercy to Abraham, Which You have sworn to our fathers From days of old.

If you believe in an infinite hell,  you might as well cut this verse out of your Bible right now.  The God whose mercy runs out is another god and not the one that gives live to His chosen ones.  Do you believe God stays angry forever?  The Bible says otherwise if you have eyes to see.  There will be joy in the morning my friends.  BELIEVE IT!

Psalm 30:5  For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

Yet those that have this idol of hell in their heart have a major contradiction that cannot be explained away.  The true purposes of God’s judgments and the nature of the true God have been hidden from them and revealed unto babes.

Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

With the blinders off, let’s take another look at some powerful Scriptures that tell of God’s plan.

Matthew 7:13-14

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in there at: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

The straight gate is narrow indeed, only a few will enter into the kingdom in this body of flesh.  The vast majority, the “many” will enter by way of the broad way that leads to and results in destruction.  God does indeed choose to whom He reveals His mysteries.  This confounds the wisdom of wise men.  Yet verses such as this which carnal eyes believe state that the vast majority of people go to an eternal hell, state no such thing at all.  When the nature and character of God is impugned with huge error, we have another jesus and another gospel.  The righteous judgments of a loving God are totally misunderstood by those who read Mat 7:14 to speak of an eternal hell.  The entire motive and purpose of God’s judgment and sending the many to destruction in the lake of fire is love.  Jesus has paid the penalty for all sin for the whole world. Yet God in His infinite wisdom and love will yet purify His people so He can be reconciled back to all. What kind of a loving father would torment his own children forever and ever?  Not the God of the Bible.  Not the God I serve.

The proper rendering of these verses, is that few will enter into the eternal life with Christ fully formed in their spiritual temples.  Few will enter into and possess the land that is a pure heart in Christ.  Most, the very many will be tormented day and night and never find true peace on this side of the grave.  They will endure the fires of a spiritual hell in this body and in the lake of fire in the final judgment.  Their flesh and soul will be destroyed yet their spirit shall be saved and they will forever be with the Lord.  Thank you Jesus, this is really good news.  It is the pursuit of love and peace, the carrot that is the motivation to seek God with your whole heart.  To those God has chosen, they will be pulled and shaped like a piece of clay to accomplish all that God has predestined for them.

Traditional Christianity has gotten it all wrong with the doctrine of demons regarding eternal torment creeping into the church and completely corrupting the doctrine.  This error uses fear as the motivator for people to turn their hearts to God.  But this is not how it works.  Man does not save Himself by making a decision.  God must grant repentance to our hearts and it is solely by His doing that we are given faith, a new heart and have the laws of God written on our hearts such that we have the desire to obey God.  It is God Himself that pours out His love inside of us, so we can in turn love others.  Men need to quit taking credit for what is solely the work of God.  Wow, what a powerful set of gifts are these.

Hebrews 8:10  FOR THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS, AND I WILL WRITE THEM ON THEIR HEARTS. AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE

Men will indeed toil in vain but the Lord shall build His Church, His way and in His timing.  It is not us,  it is God.

There are many voices out there competing as the truth.  Yet the true WORD is only revealed by God’s choice unto babes.  We have forgotten about the tests or have rationalized them away when judging ourselves or others.  It is all about the fruits that are being produced.  Love and peace are the fruits of righteousness.  If we do not produce this and only this, we can be sure we still have a problem with the Lord.

Matthew 7:18-23

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit; neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

This is the only litmus test that I have found which is 100% accurate.  It works on oneself to expose hypocrisy and idols in your heart.    If you are producing bad fruit on a regular basis and not walking in true righteousness, which is peace and love, then there is a problem.  The Apostle told us to judge ourselves on this matter.

21 Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Those that do the will of the Father here and now, which is to love,  will enter into the kingdom of heaven on this side of the grave.  The kingdom is within us Jesus told us in Luke 17:20-21.  This is eternal life abiding in Christ right now.  Few shall enter in this way.  What follows is a verse that has been called the saddest verse in all Scripture.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity

This is a sad verse because it tells us most will live a lie in their professed faith in Christ.  They will never know the Lord truly but will walk in the deceptions of their own heart.  They may be hearers of the law but they cannot be doers of the law because they deceived themselves with their religiosity.  They walked in judgment and condemnation of others, puffed up in their knowledge but had not the true love of God abiding in their heart.  But all hope is not lost for any of them as it is already finished.  Jesus has already come and accomplished all.  He came to save the entire world and HE did not fail.

John 12:32 If I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw ALL peoples to myself!!!!

1 TIM 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe

Look at this and the special blessing given to believers to be saved.  If we truly believe the report from Isaiah 53 that Jesus paid the price for all to forgive sin and take back death,  then we are especially saved.  That is because we can enter into eternal life right now via the narrow gate and not have to take the wide road that leads to destruction.   Many are called, few are chosen.

1 COR 15:21-23 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ SHALL ALL be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order

Many will come to Jesus on the Day of Judgment speaking as is written in Matthew 7:22.  And then Jesus will tell them the sad news that He never knew them and that they continued to break His laws.  They had not walked in love and mercy; they were law breakers despite the outward forms of godliness.  This is not good; it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God who is a consuming fire.  The Hebrews 10 punishment is particularly spoken to those who have knowledge of the truth yet persist in their rebellion.  They will be beaten with many stripes just as Jesus said. Yet this is not the end of the story as indeed the gospel tells us.

1 John 2:1-2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy.  The unbiblical doctrine of eternal torment is killing, stealing and destroying the good news of Jesus Christ.  Many think they serve God by speaking a repent or burn forever message, but that was never the gospel Jesus told us to take into the world.  These deceivers unfortunately are working against the purposes of God as I myself have done.  But thankfully we can go to the throne of mercy and grace.  That is everlasting.

But God in His infinite love had a plan all along to purify all of His creation and reconcile all things back to Himself.  Those that will depart into the lake of fire will be spiritually burned out of all things that offend and are stumbling blocks to entering the kingdom of God.  We know the punishment is meted out in varying degrees and duration but it is not everlasting.  The purpose of God’s final judgment is not to kill their spirits or torment them unjustly but to purify them which is the will of the Father and always has been.  God’s will is going to be done and nothing in creation is going to stand in His way.  God’s mercy and love does endure forever!!!  The Scriptures do not lie when revealed to us by Christ Himself.  How can anyone with sound reasoning believe that sending people to a never ending torment for eons after eons be considered merciful?  They cannot.

The last victory will be death.  1 COR 15 tells us this wonderful news in powerful language.  Those for whom God has given ears will hear and they will come on this side of the grave.  They will not be so deceived.  The idols in their heart that keep them from seeing will be torn down and shattered by the ROCK that is Christ.

Jeremiah 23:29  Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

The judgments of God begin at the house of God.  All these stumbling blocks that have kept us from seeing the light of the gospel will be gathered and burned by the spiritual fires of God’s judgment.  He does indeed work in mysterious ways but there is one enduring attribute we should compare our image of God to make sure we have the right one.  That is His enduring mercy.  In case we missed it above,  I leave you with Psalm 136.

PSALM 136

O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

2 O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.

3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

4 To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.

5 To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.

6 To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.

7 To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever:

8 The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever:

9 The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.

10 To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever:

11 And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever:

12 With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.

13 To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever:

14 And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever:

15 But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever.

16 To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever.

17 To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

18 And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

19 Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever:

20 And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever:

21 And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever:

22 Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever.

23 Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever:

24 And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever.

25 Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever.

26 O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever!!!

I guess this Pslamist lied as God rejected the Jews forever and burned their temple to the ground and many went to an eternal hell?  Not true.  God’s plan all along was and is to save all.  He will and He has done it already.  Guaranteed.    What many fail to see is God has His hands on all of it.  He is the one directing a man’s steps (Prov 16:9).

Romans 11:32  For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on ALL.

 Praise God.  Thank you Jesus.
