Nahum Part 11 – The trees of the field clap their hands

by Pete Wilson

This Scripture like all Scripture is about you and me if we are proven to be God’s sons and found faithful in the end (Rev 17:14) i.e. end of our ages in each of our lives. Our carnal instinct is to put these words off on someone else, perhaps on the people still in Orthodoxy or maybe some babes that just came into the fellowship of the saints. But they certainly cannot apply to us we want to believe. But oh yes, they do and we had best remember these Words of fire.

Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

We cannot take away these words of Nahum and not apply them to ourselves. It is only by living them that the man is blessed and brought to life in this age. That is the prize and upwards calling of Christ that comes to so very few. The story of King David as a type of Christ yet in a marred vessel of weak flesh is our story. Like David, we will fall down hard into sin at times in order to be taught the righteousness of Jesus Christ (Isa 26:9). We (you and me and all men) in our own turn, are the man who does these evil things and we are paying the consequences as the wages of all sin is death. Like David found out, having the truth in an outward form of godliness is not enough. We must do the truth in order to have power over sin.

A prophet of the Lord “is, was and will be” sent to God’s Elect and they are speaking words that reveal our rebellion and sin against the Lord. We all claim our righteousness yet still “oppress the poor and kill Christ” as the story of 2 Samuel 12 conveys. Having been told of this egregious sin we become indignant and seek vengeance on the oppressor not aware that we are the man. The Word will prick our hearts in that day which is now on His House.

2Sa 12:7 And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;

Having been given all the gifts of God and possessing our Master’s House in the Body, we still seek to save our life in the flesh and despise the Lord’s commands.

2Sa 12:9 Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.

Yet our day of judgment has come, now the Lord who was delivered through our offences, will be raised again through our justification (Rom 4:25). It is both a wonderful and terrible thing to have a sword abiding on our house. The Lord will use it to raise up evil from within us as Nahum has prophesied to reveal our wickedness to ourselves.

2Sa 12:10 Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.

2Sa 12:11 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.

Our justification will be done before the Body of Christ; before the Sun of Righteousness.

2Sa 12:12 For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

We will come to see ourselves as natural reasoning beasts in far greater depravity than we once thought and we will continue to be humbled by and through this process. That first born child of our adulterous fornicating relationship of Truth and carnal lusts must die for the true man child to come forth. We come to see our sin and are given to see our continued fornication with this world WITHIN AND WITHOUT. The great grasshoppers within that kept us from being diligent are removed from our vision and the yet carnal child shall surely die within us.

2Sa 12:14 Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

As horrible as all of this sounds, it is very necessary for us to endure the words of the prophecy of the Book of Nahum. It is the only way we learn good and evil and are brought forward to maturity where our fruit can abide and be used for the Lord. The Lord truly makes free!

Heb 5:1 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Ecc 1:13 I applied my heart to inquiring and exploring by wisdom concerning all that is done under the heavens:it is an experience of evil Elohim has given to the sons of humanity to humble them by it.

Here are the final two verses of the Book of Nahum.

Nah 3:18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.

Nah 3:19 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?

This prophesy ends very abruptly. Where is the beautiful ending where the war is over and everyone is happy and joyous and there is peace in the land? This prophesy ends with the fatalistic prognosis that the wound is grievous and there is not going to be any healing.   There are not many secular studies on Nahum and it is easy to understand why. Those without “ears to hear and eyes to see” are totally unaware of what the Scriptures say and mean and do not have a clue to the strange act of the Lord in bringing forth new life through death.

Prophets such as Nahum in type and shadow and all of God’s sons [those who have the Spirit of Christ] are being sent to prepare the way for the fire to come. We know what the Lord is doing in this regard before He does it so we are being prepared to endure it.

Amo 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

If we know the definition of LOVE (Agape) and keep in mind it means obedience to the Lord’s commandments (1 Jo 5:3), then the love chapter of Corinthians takes on a whole new meaning. Being blessed with all this knowledge and understanding (riches, treasures of the Temple) and being placed in the Body of Christ, amount to nothing without love and our ministry is nothing more than a clanging gong.

1Co 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

Last’s week’s sobering message reminded us that we must endure to the end and take heed of the things we know and be diligent, lest we drift away. Here is another admonishment of the same.

Heb 2:1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.

Heb 2:2 For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward,

Heb 2:3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,

My hope is in the commands of Christ in me and you, and that the Lord will turn and heal us every day so that His commands overtake the prophet’s words.

Zec 1:4 (NLT) Don’t be like your ancestors who would not listen or pay attention when the earlier prophets said to them, ‘This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: Turn from your evil ways, and stop all your evil practices.

Nah 3:18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.

To slumber is to not work. The working of the wicked one, the messengers of Baal within us, is silenced in the purging of our carnal mindedness. The king of our fleshly kingdoms within (the King of Assyria) which shall dwell in the dust and the carnal shepherds which are those great grasshoppers will be scattered on these mountains or kingdoms where the spiritual harlot within us sits. We see this same sequence in our latter stage of judgment as the religious beast we are and the great harlot within are judged.

Dan 2:35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

Those false shepherds will no longer work in our heavens as they will be scattered (decreased) by the whirlwind of the Lord’s judgment brought by the feet of brass “is, was, and will be” every day. This was in our first study where we saw that we, the Body of Christ, the great cloud of His witnesses are the dust of the Lord’s feet.

Nah 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

When the true saviors, the Body of Christ are sent within (Obe 1:21), there will be no slumbering or sleeping. We are to be like our Lord who was like His Father and THEY were always working in the kingdom of God (Joh 5:17). When the armies of the Lord come within and without us, they come quickly and they come without any slumbering (Isa 5:26-28).

Without a shepherd to lead us the Lord causes us to return to His house.

2Ch 18:16 Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.

We that hear the Word and enter through the door are the shepherds of the sheep not like the hirelings who flee when the wolves come.

Joh 10:2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

We are all scattered when the shepherd within us is smitten.

Zec 13:7 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.

Zec 13:8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

Zec 13:9 And I will bring the third part (the latter judgment) through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

The carnal man will not be gathered back, the Assyrian King will dwell in the dust being an inherent part of the beast that “was, is not but yet is” as long as we occupy the clay vessels.

But the wheat representing His Elect will be gathered back from the four winds of heaven.  This baptism of fire (Mat 3:11) is orchestrated by the fanners which are the Lord’s Elect and through the Words we speak.

Mat 3:12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Mat 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Rev 14:18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.

Nah 3:19 There is no healing of thy bruise [H7667]; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?

The affliction of the old man with his carnal mind is the bruise that will not be healed. The old man is being destroyed and that is all by the Lord’s design (Jer 18:4, 1 Cor 15:50, Rom 8:20). The word translated as bruise is the Strong’s Hebrew word H7667 “sheber”. This is most often used as destruction and interestingly enough is the word translated hurt, from which Babylon heals us superficially in Jeremiah 6 and 8.

Jer 6:14 They have healed also the hurt (destruction) of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

It is the other jesus we falsely believe wants to stop this “destruction” within us when the reality is He is the One causing it.

This bruise is the same breach in our walls for whom the Lord looked for someone to stand in the gap but found none (Eze 22:30). The old man is not being saved period. In fact the old man is instead purposefully being destroyed. The marred vessel of Jeremiah 18 is this destroyed vessel in the hands of the Potter who is working ALL THINGS.

Jer 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was DESTROYED/marred [H7483]: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter in the hand of the potter to make it.

Notice that all we do (you and me), both good and bad, either spirit led or carnally minded was done in the hand of the Potter. The Lord uses it all to bring about good in the end.

Jer 30:11 For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

Jer 30:12 For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous.

Jer 30:13 There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.

Our true healing will come only to the new man. He IS BEING healed and all the nations within us by abiding in the heavenly city of Jerusalem with time.

Rev 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Rev 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

The head of the serpent within us is given a deadly wound from which there will be no recovery. The ten horned seven headed beasts of our father the devil are given this deadly bruise by the feet of the woman which is the Bride of Christ in type and shadow. We just have to be patient and wait for the Lord to accomplish the incurable bruising of the serpent’s head (Gen 3:15).

Rom 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Practically speaking this all happens by the old man being smitten by the new man within us. Jesus Christ, when He appears in our heavens, does not bring peace but a sword. He comes to divide and the old man will indeed be cut off by the symbolic beheading of our carnal mind. This is the only way to be given the mind of Christ (1 Co 2:16, Rev 20:4).

The payback of “Spiritual Babylon” representing those in the Body of Christ is a double judgment. Our old man is first slain by the Rock that is Christ but then it is also necessary for the head of the beast to be cut off spiritually speaking. That is the purpose of this second coming and our baptism by fire. We see it here in type and shadow in the story of David killing Goliath. We must have the sword in our hands, IN OUR WORK for the Lord to shed the mind of the beast by cutting it off.

1Sa 17:50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.

1Sa 17:51 Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.

For us to not worship the beast anymore, recognizing the beast “was, is not and yet is” (Rev 17:18), the head must be cut off and that is exactly what is being concluded here in Nahum.

Clapping of Hands

Our last verse tells us that all that hear the report or fame of our carnally minded old man/beast will clap their hands over us as this state of being is destroyed within us. This was confusing to me and took a lot of digging to come to the knowledge of what is really being said here. It turns out there is both a positive and a negative to every word of Christ including references to the clapping of hands.

To clap our hands physically we must bring our right and left hands together to make a sound.  That is what happens in the Spirit if we apply Romans 1:20.  Knowing that “Christ” is the right hand of the Lord and “Satan” the left hand. Job chapter 1 and the coming together of the Lord, Satan and the sons of God illustrates this.

Job 1:11 But put forth thine hand (The Lord’s) now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
Job 1:12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand (Satan’s). So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

Spiritually speaking clapping hands is what we do when this war of the carnal mind vs the spirit is waging.  A noise is made and as we will see it is linked to the sounds of a trumpet and the blowing of trumpets that bring forth victory and salvation. Both sides of the sword come into view in looking at the spiritual significance of hand clapping.

According to my review of several Jewish or religious history sites, unlike our modern traditions the clapping of hands in ancient times was a custom to show disdain, disagreement and generally a negative attitude about somebody or something. A quick run through of these four verbs translated at times as the word CLAP will show this.

H5606 – smite, striketh, smote, clap

Num 24:10 And Balak’s anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.

Job 27:23 Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.

H5221 – smote, smitten, kill, slew, clapped

Eze 22:13 Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.

2Ki 11:12 And he brought forth the king’s son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king.

The intent of clapping was to express their intent to smite and destroy the wicked Queen Althaliah, replacing her with the rightful king, six-year-old Joash. Here is a third word only found three places but always translated as clap and includes a most famous passage.

H4222 – clap, clappeth, A primitive root; to rub or strike the hands together (in exultation): – clap.

Eze 25:6 For thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;

Isa 55:12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Finally, the word translated as clap in our focused verse of Nahum 3:19 comes from H8628.

H8628, taw-kah’

A primitive root; to clatter, that is, slap (the hands together), clang (an instrument); by analogy to drive (a nail or tent pin, a dart, etc.); by implication to become bondsman (by handclasping): – blow ([a trumpet]), cast, clap, fasten, pitch [tent], smite, sound, strike, X suretiship, thrust.

Total KJV occurrences: 69

Of the sixty-nine occurrences of this Hebrew word, it is only translated clap twice. Here is the only other place it is used as clap.

Psa 47:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

Psa 47:2 For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

Psa 47:3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.

This clapping of hands like the use in Nahum 3:19 is associated with subduing the enemies of God within us which means gaining dominion over the pulls of the flesh and carnal mind. What is very instructive to extract the parable of the clapping of hands is to look at how this word H8628 is used in the majority of the cases. Here we see words that continue the linkage with actions like smite, smitten and slay when one considers what the blowing of trumpets and the bringing of judgment represent.

Eze_7:14

Clapping of hands whether in a positive reference (the coming forth of the new man), or a negative reference (the destruction and death of the old man and carnal mind) are one in the same. The dream is ONE and both represent the work of the Lord bringing salvation to His people.  This is through the war in our heaven (Rev 12:9). It is “Christ” who does the work of the Lord within and without so we use our hands to cast light on the wicked and to bring forth praises for the good work of the Lord in ourselves and in our brethren. Both sides of this transaction are worthy of clapping!

The clapping of hands and the breaking out of the hills and mountains with joy, is the new man coming forth within us as the Word is working its work in the kingdom of God within us. Here are a couple examples of the hands of the Lord at work using H8628 (the same word translated clap in its more frequent translation as blow or blew).

Eze 33:3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

Jos 6:16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.

Amo 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?

And who is it that brings this judgment? The Body of Christ (The Elect) are the saviors that come upon Mt. Esau to judge the nations within and without (Obe 1:21) in the times appointed. As Steve’s Awesome Hands series has so adeptly taught us, the Body of Christ, are the hands of the Lord through which He does His work on the earth including being His Battle Axe.

Joh 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Men represent trees in Scripture (Mar 8:24). The trees of the field shall clap their hands is part of the process of salvation coming to all men. These trees smite the hands of the wicked by clapping of their hands and they also clap their hands with joy for the coming forth of Christ as He is gloried and raised up within us. The war of the flesh versus the spirit in our day of judgment creates the sounds of salvation which is the clapping of the hands of the trees of the field. This is all accomplished by the Word, the fire of God, working in our heavens.

Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Isa 55:12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Isa 55:13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

Clapping of hands is the blowing of the trumpet and bringing the Lord’s judgment to those prepared to hear it. That is what saves us and how we learn righteousness as we have reminded ourselves constantly in this series.

1Co 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

1Co 11:32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Christ comes only for the sick and the lame, not to those without a need for a spiritual physician. Coming to see that the bruise of the flesh king within us will not be healed is essential for this process to complete its course. As bad as all of this sounds, it is truly the prerequisite for the coming of Christ within us the SECOND time for salvation without sin.

Mat 9:12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

The clapping of hands are the praises of men who have had their cries for deliverance from their enemies answered by the Lord from heaven.

Psa 98:8 Let the floods (River) clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together

Psa 98:9 Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

This Psalm speaks to the trees of the field that clapping having been delivered by the implanted Word that is bringing forth lasting fruit unto the Lord. With the King of Assyria within us no longer working (slumbering), then the conflict with the Lord’s work in bringing forth fruit can move forward speedily within us as we mature having experienced both good and evil. When Christ in us sees Satan as lightning falling we return with great joy.

Luk 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

And here is what that produces in us in increasing quantity.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Conclusion

This entire prophecy has been about the burden we all carry being carnally minded, being created subject to vanity, and seeking to serve the Lord. This must be burned out of us through many trials and tribulations for us to find the true rest that remains for the people of God (Heb 4:9).

The natural enmity of the carnal mind will war against the law of Christ in our minds (Rom 7:23). It requires Christ coming a second time to “Nineveh”, the great city and capital of Assyrian and Babylon WITHIN us (Luke 17:21). Until Christ brings this war in our heavens via the fiery judgments (Rev 12), we are incapable of obeying the Lord in Truth and in spirit. There is a process of spiritual progression and maturity required to implant the Lord’s ways into our hearts and minds. Only once the field is planted with good seed, will it bear fruit for the Lord and this prophecy explains this in its three short chapters. The titles of the eleven studies illustrate this progression yet there was no conscious design on my part to do so.

  1. The Burden of Nineveh – Nah 1:1 The burden of Nineveh
  2. He rebukes the sea
  3. No more of thy name be sown
  4. Then Shall the Wicked Be Revealed
  5. The goodness of God brings repentance
  6. Devouring the devourers
  7. Behold I am against thee
  8. Shaking by a Mighty Wind
  9. You are yet Carnal
  10. The Great Grasshoppers
  11. The trees of the field clap their hands

The study taking eleven parts is all the Lord’s work yet that is very telling also as it confirms the prophecy. Eleven representing the destruction of the perfection of the flesh (10) and being one short of the number twelve which represents our spiritual foundation. So when our flesh is as good as it can be; it is still no good to God and it must be destroyed (Mar 10:18, Ecc 7:20). The Law is good but still a shadow of good things to come.

Of course being remade and our achievement of salvation is all an earnest deposit of the fullness to come. So we are not physically being killed but what must take place is our carnal mindedness needs to be destroyed [we are being led as lambs to the slaughter]. The carnal mindset is death and this must change for us to be of service to the Lord, even in down payment form.

Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh (“yet carnal”) cannot please God.

The carnal mind makes living and abiding in the Word so burdensome and so frustrating.  We complain, gripe, and go on emotional roller coasters as we respond to the scourging grace the Lord is injecting into our lives. These fiery trials are a huge burden to carry if we think about them and respond to them as a natural man would. The burden is heavy and the yoke is truly oppressive when we strive with our Lord and remain outside of the true rest before we surrender the ghost in down payment form and submit to Christ. There is great gain to be had when we are content with what the Lord is doing in our lives (1 Ti 6:6). When our obedience is complete we lack nothing.

Thankfully nothing is impossible for our Lord and He is causing chastening grace that always increases when sin abounds (Rom 5:20). And as we progress more and more onward to maturity, being dragged there, the yoke becomes easy and the burden is truly light.

Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

So we all learn patience in waiting for these things to be fulfilled in our heavens. We have faith [a gift] but we also are being taught patience and to watch and pray continuously.

Pro 10:25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

Luk 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Luk 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Surely this study and these words are not comforting to our flesh and carnal mind. But they are a comfort to the NEW MAN and if we recall Study #2, we will remember that Nahum’s name means to comfort. So I hope this study has stirred me and you up to be more vigilant about our walk and bring a measure of patience to endure what the Lord has written in each of our books (Psa 139:16) from the foundation of the world, our days before they even were.

We are going to learn about cankerworms and grasshoppers in this study and learn their association and role of us (God’s Elect) in our immature, puffed up, attention seeking state, hearing but not doing the Word. This is our yet carnal Corinthian state where we have been given the things of Christ but have not yet exercised them through the trials to learn to be a doer of the Word and produce the righteousness of the Lord, the fine white linen. We are still waiting for this baptism of fire to work its work in us.

1Co 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

1Co 1:7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

We always put these verses on those carnal people over there in the orthodox harlot churches and forget all about “Mystery Babylon” WITHIN. This is the Babylon that is inside of us, it is stamped on the harlot’s head, whose head is the head of the beast (Rev 17:13), that we all are as carnal men and women.

Rev 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Yet we know our baptism with fire, the second coming of Christ for salvation apart from sin (Heb 9:28), will not come until we see ourselves for what we truly are in these vessels of clay.

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

I suspect Paul had a hard time getting this point across to the church at Thessalonica as he infers they have been told of this before and should remember as it applies to the Body of Christ.

2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

This state of being is the epitome of our worshipping the image of the carnal and fleshly beast that all men are (Ecc 3:18). As foolish as it seems to the natural man, the way the Lord saves us from our sins, is to first cause us to err from His ways (Isa 63:17) which means to sin. He then uses that occasion to bring judgment to our heavens and earth by way of the implanted Word as the end of our carnal age has come. Those of us that do not obey the Word which is ALL MEN, are judged in “that day” which is also known as the last day or as the sum of thy Word tells us, the end of the age or AION.

Joh 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

We are taught by experience by which a loving Father chastens us via the fiery judgments of His Word when we miss the mark and sin. Another way of saying this is: “our own wickedness is used to correct us” (Jer 2:19). The Lord manifests evil from the rod of the Assyrian or Babylonian king within us to wreak havoc to the hypocritical nation we have become hearing but not doing (1 Ki 10:5-6). To become like our Lord we must learn good and evil and the only way we learn is through experience. That experience is obtained by going through this judgment that must come first on the house of the Lord.

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

We ended Nahum Part 8 with verse thirteen and we need to keep the same context as we continue this week’s study.

Nah 3:13 Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.

Fire has “suddenly” come to devour the strongholds (bars) of the flesh. These bars represent our carnality. These bars are the chains that keep us in bondage to our flesh and the principles of this world being carnal babes in Christ. We show up in the Body as babes despite what we may think otherwise and we have a lot of burning out to do to become the mature man in Christ.

Galatians 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

This is where we sit in the shadow of death, being carnally minded (Rom 8:6) bound by these bars of the flesh and being both a rebel and a hypocrite and not obeying the Lord. We also saw last week the shaking of the fig trees by a mighty wind that represents our immaturity in the Lord, being a babe and being yet carnal. The lasting fruit that remains is not produced until after we endure through our baptism with fire.

Heb 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Christ chooses us and appears to us to teach us righteousness and make us into fruit producing trees whose fruit can easily withstand the storms of life (Joh 15:16). Disciples indeed are those who produce such fruit but to be such a disciple we must continue, which means to abide in His Word and not our carnal mindedness i.e. DYING TO SELF.

Joh 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue [Doer of the Word] in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

When our vessel of clay is being remade, the entire foundations on which we stand are being completely done over. Instead of trusting in the carnal mind and the principles of the world we are taught to walk only by faith in the Word and to not even think above what is written (1 Cor 4:6). This is the baptism of fire that brings forth a new man and it is accomplished on the Lord’s coming this second time to Nineveh.

As we live through the prophecy of this book of Nahum, our faith will be growing and we are beginning to acknowledge in deed and in Word that the Lord is really the Lord and apart from Him we can do nothing. Here are the four verses we will cover today. It will take another segment to complete the final two verses of the book and provide a summary and conclusion to this very interesting and detailed prophecy we all live by at the appointed times.

Nah 3:14 Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln.

Nah 3:15 There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.

Nah 3:16 Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and flieth away.

Nah 3:17 Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.

Doing these studies has given me a much greater appreciation for patience and how we are made to wait on Him to accomplish His work in us. We all want to be delivered fully right now but the Lord makes us wait.

Psa 40:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

Psa 40:2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Rom 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

This study is focused on the less attractive side of God’s Word, the judgments of the old man and our carnal way of life. Nobody’s flesh is going to like this process it is indeed torment.   It pains us when we fall down and still sin, missing the mark of the higher calling. As Ezekiel tells us, this is the mark of a godly man that groans and sighs over the abominations committed in the city within us.

Eze 9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

Yet we press on, we get right back up (Pro 26:16) because we are not saved by our performance, we are saved by HOPE. So before we get into the study verses, I wanted to give some encouragement because I know we all struggle with our failures and we want to be delivered of all of our enemies immediately.

Rom 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

We must wait on salvation because otherwise we get puffed up even more than we already will. The carnal thoughts and lust we wage war against in our members, are only delivered into our hands little by little lest the beast that “was, is not and yet is” would take credit for it (Exo 23:29-30). At the heart of this process is us coming to see our truly wretched position without Christ working in us. Coming to the conclusion we truly are vile and wicked and being able to say what Paul quipped “oh wretched man that I am”, takes many trials and falling down into sin, erring from the Lord’s ways.

Enduring through this war, the process of our judgment and being tormented is how the old man is decreased and the new man is increased. This is the patience of saints and how we are caused to keep His commandments as our judgment progresses.

Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Let’s look now at the individual verses.

Nah 3:14 Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln.

The fury of the Lord is accomplished via the remaking of the marred vessel of clay that was created for the very purpose of being destroyed and remade (Jer 18:4, Rom 8:20). This remaking of the vessel from the one lump of clay is exactly what we are studying in Nahum.  First, the vessel of dishonor and then the remaking of us into the vessel of honor from the SAME lump (Isa 64:8, Rom 9:21).

As in the days of Noah, the end comes by a flood sweeping away the wicked and leaving only the righteous behind. Nahum is calling for the waters of the siege to be prepared.

Gen 6:17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and everything that is in the earth shall die.

The water and the fire are both needed to reshape and reform clay and is likened to the days of Noah and also the days of Lot.   The baptism of water washes away the false doctrines and carnality and the baptism of fire makes us doers of the Word.

Luk 17:26  And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:

Luk 17:27  They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

Luk 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

Luk 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

Luk 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

These are baptisms of both water and fire yet they are the One Baptism. The washing of the temple/us by the Word and the fire and brimstone represented by our baptism in fire.

Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Mat 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

The Lord uses and sends His Body to be the saviors of the world (Obe 1:21) that speak His Word (Jer 5:14) doing the greater works of God (Joh 14:12). “Christ” is sent to the clay vessels prepared ahead of time (the lost sheep of Israel) and this brings the hail that causes the overflowing of the waters that consume the old man.

Isa 28:2 Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.

The house of the Lord must be built from within us as we are His temple (1 Cor 3:17). This requires the clay to be treaded with water and fire (heat).  The old walls must be demolished and everything is to be made new (Rev 21:5). There will be nobody found to repair the broken walls of “spiritual Babylon”, that great mother of harlots” within.  When the fire comes, this wound is indeed grievous and the old man shall not recover.

Eze 22:28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.

Eze 22:29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.

Eze 22:30 And I sought for a man among them that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

The walls of the true temple are built by the Israel of God as the story of Nehemiah illustrates in type and shadow. The waste places are rebuilt by the flesh of Jesus Christ, His Body. Jesus Christ is the one who draws the water from His well of living waters. These waters are drawn by the preaching of His Elect, who are His ambassadors (Rom 10:15). Out of our bellies will flow these waters and through them will salvation come to the Gentiles within and without at the appointed times.

Joh 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

The spoken Word will knock down and make breaches in the fleshly bars and walls we previously built in our false security thinking we have already arrived. These breaches enable the enemy to come in and be used of the Lord to destroy the wicked within us before they are in turn destroyed.

Lam 4:11 The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof.

Lam 4:12  he kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.

Christ both wounds and heals, He destroys and He rebuilds.

Isa 58:11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

Isa 58:12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

The word for bricklin has its root the Hebrew word “Laban” which is H3835 which has this definition in Strong’s.

A primitive root; to be (or become) white; also (as denominative from H3843) to make bricks: – make brick, be (made, make) white (-r).

The fields are indeed white and ripe for the harvest at this stage of our walk; Christ has come with fire and with an army or laborers within OURSELVES and within the Body of Christ and the reaping of the harvest is underway.

Joh 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

Nah 3:15 There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.

Cankerworms are voracious eating insects that start out as caterpillars and through a four step process morph into voracious eating moths that fly away as adults. This definition of natural cankerworms gives a good overview of what “spiritual cankerworms” also do.

“Spring and fall cankerworms are long-standing forest and shade-tree pests that defoliate forests. Both complete their life cycle by developing in four distinct phases: eggs, larvae (caterpillar), pupae (cocoon) and adults. Cankerworms are defoliating pests of many tree species especially hardwoods.”

The word translated cankerworm is the Strong’s word H3218 “yeleq”. It is always either translated as cankerworm or as caterpillars, which is one of the forms a cankerworm has during its life cycle.

caterpillars, 3

Psa_105:34, Jer_51:14, Jer_51:27

We can quickly see the commonality in how the Lord uses this word. The context of these worms or caterpillars is always the judgment of Babylon and the great harlot within us. Here we are again puffed up, in need of nothing thinking our godliness is a means for gain. The Lord fills us with these caterpillars that are used to bring the fire of the sword upon us.

Jer 51:13 O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, and the measure of thy covetousness.

Jer 51:14 The LORD of hosts hath sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill [fill Adam] thee with men, as with caterpillers; and they shall lift up a shout against thee.

We saw in an earlier segment the word for “scarlet” is also used for worms and tell us of this raging war between the flesh and spirit, the red of Adam versus the blue of Christ.

Cankerworms and caterpillars bring the tainting of our thoughts by the mixing of the two and this is when we are living through the torment in the presence of the Lamb (Rev 14:11). We see the three stages of judgment represented also in the Words of the Lord in Mark chapter nine applying to the cleansing of our way of life, represented by our hands, our feet and our eyes. It is always better to cut off or pluck out the offending limb rather than stay in this “eternal” or better said age abiding torment. Thrice the Lord tells us this about the war raging in our heavens in the days of our judgment.

Mar 9:45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

Mar 9:46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

The fire will keep burning, the strife and inner torment will continue until this wood, OUR CARNALITY is burned out of us.

Pro 26:20 Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.

Jer 5:14 Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

Consistent with the theme of our immaturity, we are not gathering fruit or drinking wine of the increase of our work for the Lord when it is mixed with our fleshly and carnal ways. The cankerworms worms are eating it up!

Deu 28:39 Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.

Psa 78:46 He gave also their increase unto the caterpiller, and their labour unto the locust.

Joe 1:4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath 1) the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath 2) the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath 3) the caterpiller eaten

I saw something very interesting I had not seen before in preparing this study. Three is the number for spiritual completion in Scripture. The locusts, the cankerworm and the caterpillar all represent differing degrees of our judgment and our spiritual completion. Specifically the cankerworm and the caterpillar are a later and more mature judgment of the Lord that we live out after already knowing true doctrine and already have come of out the Orthodox churches. The Lord’s people that come out of her are the ones that get a double portion of judgment (Rev 18:6, Jer 16:18)

We are already in the Body of Christ, the church of the living God, when we live thru this second baptism of fire. We take the Truth and work the earth ourselves being yet carnal [Cain], and it is the fruit of that increase we are initially unable to reap. We, like Noah, having come thru the flood get drunk from the fruit of our own vineyard.  We all are made drunkards as we work the earth.

Gen 9:20 And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:

Gen 9:21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

Joe 1:5 Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.

We come into the Body yet carnal and immature, untested by the fire. I am making no judgment on anyone in particular in the Body except for my own self.

The cankerworms spoil the crop and vegetation brought forth for the Lord and later on the caterpillars eat even what is left over. These three stages of voracious insects devouring the crop is 1) our time in Orthodoxy or Babylon, 2) our carnal Corinthian days in the Body coming behind in no gift and 3) our day of the Lord that brings us to maturity and a perfect man in Christ that bears fruit that remains.

Trees represent men in Scripture and we will see a big nugget next week in closing the book of  Nahum, about “the trees of the field and the clapping of our hands”. Being untested in the fire, our green leaves that bud forth (mixture of heavenly blue and leprous yellow) will not remain but will fade away like a leaf.

Jer 8:13 I will surely consume them, saith the LORD: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.

Isa 1:30 For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.

Contrast this situation with the mature man in Christ that has been proven by trials having endured through the fiery trials.

Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Rev 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

So while locust represents lies and false doctrines that block out the truth and keep us is in spiritual darkness, before we are given eyes to see and ears to hear; the cankerworms and the caterpillars do something similar but at a more mature stage of our walk. They keep us fornicating with the world in our heavens, mixing our new founded truth with deep seated carnal reasoning. Cankerworms are carnal thoughts, lies and false doctrines even “spiritual chariots” we ride on that result in and consume our immature work in the Lord.

Thankfully these spoilers themselves end up getting spoiled. The devourers are themselves devoured after the Lord has used them to accomplish His purposes. We looked some at this mystery in Part six entitled the “Devouring the Devourers” (Jer 30:16, Pro 22:22-23). The carnal mind and the head of the beast is being cut off. The devourer will be devoured as salvation comes to the house of the Lord and we grow fruit that actually remains.

Mal 3:11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

Let’s look at one more nugget here in verse fifteen of the two sides of the sword of the Lord.

Nah 3:15 There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many [H3513] as the cankerworm, make thyself many [H3513] as the locusts.

The phrase found twice in this verse “make thyself many” comes from this Hebrew word H3513 and that translation only done here in Nahum really obscures the meaning as seen below in looking at the KJC.

It really has the meaning of heavy or heaviness in the negative and honor and glorified in the positive. Since we are dealing with a negative context, i.e. the judgment of the old man, here are some verses speaking on that context that use this same word and here it is “heavy”. The cankerworms and locusts are very many and the totality of these lies causes us to miss the mark and sin. This makes us “heavy” spiritually speaking.

Isa 24:20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy [H3513] upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

Isa 6:10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy [H3513], and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

Multiplying the merchants above the stars of heaven, is putting the lies above truth and failing to keep watch over the flock of the Lord. Like these insects which eat physical crops, we quickly multiply our carnal reasoning’s in this war to keep the old man alive and the beast sitting on the throne of our hearts. Seeking to save our life is a sure way to lose out on eternal life [knowing Christ and His Father]. But natural reasoning beasts will do anything, even making their own bread and making their own clothing to wrest away the judgment of God.

Isa 4:1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

Knowing the Truth but not yet doing the Truth, we sit down at the wedding feast but we are not yet properly clothed and have some torment to endure in outer darkness. Not just anyone can come to the feast; we must be of the very few called, chosen AND FAITHFUL (Rev 17:14) and be given to endure through this fiery process.

Mat 22:12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

Mat 22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Mat 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

The same word “kabab” was in last week’s study as the word honorable in a positive way.

Nah 3:10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable [H3513] men, and all her great men were bound in chains.

What this shows us is the other side of the two edged sword. The process of the old man being made “heavy” and multiplying lies and wearing defiled self- righteous garments is how the Lord is glorified IN US and how we are made to be His Honorable men. Here is yet another use of this same word kabab often translated as “glorify”.

Isa 24:15 Wherefore glorify [H3513] ye the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

Nah 3:16 Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and flieth away.

He who exalts himself shall be humbled and this will be you and me and all men at their appointed time. The pride of man likes to be seen, heard or thought of highly by other men.   We all will do this even if secretly in our own mind and we will be humbled by the chopping down of our prideful tree.

Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Yet Christ says His Word and our doing it will not make us popular. Woe unto us when all men speak well of us! The worst harlots and offenders are God’s sons who are judged to a higher standard since they have been given much and thus much more shall be expected.  There is a reason Hosea was told to go marry a harlot!  Remember the Bible is written to and about the people of God, the Body of Christ. Here is what James has to say to us, the church of God, knowing the Truth but not obeying the Truth.

Jas 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Jas 4:5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?

The Lord response to our sin is “to crank up grace”, the furnace of affliction.

Jas 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Knowledge of the true doctrines of Christ will inevitably puff us up. The pride of man cannot help but to exalt himself based on these riches and treasures. But such a man cannot enter the kingdom of God. We first learn these verses as applying to physical money but they apply so much more broadly. Seeking to be seen as righteous in the congregation is seeking riches.

Mat 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

1Ti 6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

The cankerworms are given us for judgment to burn these lusts out of us by eating our harvest and spoiling the carnal Corinthian. In due time we will cease from seeking after such folly. We all go through the learning and maturing process and that is through this furnace of affliction. With new ears and eyes, we will seek riches as that bring glory to the carnally minded. We will dig for knowledge in the vineyard and naturally think our godliness is a means for gain and we will wax rich.   This is the merchandising the harlot Mystery Babylon is insidiously good at doing.

Rev 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

Nah 3:4 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.

Our goal once in the truth should be contentment and to wait upon the Lord who in due time will lift us up as His will has determined. He is the HEAD of His own church!

1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

1Ti 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

The cankerworms once hatched and after eating up the crop, will multiply greatly and take flight in our heavens and will continue to impede our maturation. These must be purged from the heavens and these flyers must themselves be devoured. The Lord will humble us and burn out of us the desire to be rich and be wise in our own eyes. Our carnal mind will get the best of us when we seek riches to bring glory to ourselves. There is an interesting link between seeking riches and flying high like an eagle toward heaven.

Pro 23:4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.

Pro 23:5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.

I had wanted so badly to get through verse 17 this week and complete the review of the insects in one study, but we must wait until next week to cover this verse and the final two in the Book of Nahum.

Nah 3:17 Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.

We will see that grasshoppers are similar but not exactly the same bug as locusts and are indeed different than cankerworms. This applies in the natural as well as the spiritual as I hope to make clear in the next study. Just to plant a seed that will be covered in more detail let’s quickly review the definition and use of the word translated as grasshoppers and its root word.

The word translated as grasshopper in Nahum is H1462 or “gob”. It is only found three times in Scripture twice in Nahum 3:17 and also in Amos 7:1

Total KJV Occurrences: 3

grasshoppers, 2

Amo_7:1, Nah_3:17

great, 1

Nah_3:17 (2)

Amo 7:1 Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king’s mowings.

The latter growth represents our more mature stages in our day of the Lord we will study out next week.  But the word for grasshopper has as its root H1461.  This is a real nugget. Here is the root word and its usage only one time in all of Scripture.

H1461, gûb, goob

A primitive root; to dig: – husbandman.

Total KJV occurrences: 1

This root is only used this once place in 2 King 25:12 and is translated as husbandman

2Ki 25:12 But the captain of the guard left of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and husbandmen [H1461].

So there is a real gem in seeing that grasshoppers tie directly to being a husbandmen. Here is the definition of a husbandman from Easton’s Bible Dictionary.

Husbandman (NOUN): One whose business it is to cultivate the ground. It was one of the first occupations, and was esteemed most honourable ( Genesis 9:20 Genesis 26:12 Genesis 26:14 37:7 , etc.). All the Hebrews, except those engaged in religious services, were husbandmen.

So the word “husbandmen” like all words of Scripture can be either positive or negative. God’s Elect are the Lord’s husbandmen, we are being given the keys to the kingdom of God and are given to tend the fields and bring in the harvest and to drink of the wine and eat of the grapes.

We will see more confirmation that this time in our walk, the enduring of the baptism of fire, comes when we are in the Body as a yet carnal Corinthian coming behind in no gifts. Here we know true doctrine yet still cannot apply it consistently and are often mixing with the world and having a hard time coming out and being separated and touching not the unclean within specifically. We have a form of godliness but without the power thereof.

Grasshoppers represent our time of being puffed up, an eagle high in the tree, where we lust for knowledge and seek the riches of the kingdom ahead of being a doer of the Word that is obedient to the Lord’s commandments.

With that teaser, we will end this installment of the Book of Nahum. Lord willing, we will be able to complete the prophecy next week in ten parts.

Victory Over The Beast

beastEcc 3:18  I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

The purpose of this post is to help those given ears to hear come to see that there truly is nothing good that dwells in our flesh and that we like Paul are all wretched men and the chief of sinners.

1Ti 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

All of us have been created as beasts, marred in the hands of the potter and are of our father the devil until our day of judgment and salvation arrives.  If we do not agree with this then we have not been shown that all men are truly beasts.   But maybe God willing, that will change.  Let him hear who has been given ears to hear these things.

If you came here expecting to read about some global conspiracy theory about the US Government or the Pope being the beast or the Antichrist  you came to the right place because if you are faithful to read this post, you should be freed of wondering after that dispensational “end of the world” nonsense that has so many preoccupied and always updating their theories.  But let’s begin at what the third angel says, noting that three is always the number of judgment and its process in Scripture.  These angels are pronouncing judgment against the beast and all who worship his image and receive his mark.

Rev 14:9  And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

And here is the judgment.  These shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God and be tormented before the angels in the presence of the lamb.

Rev 14:10  The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

The mystery of God is indeed a mystery and has been hidden from the eyes of men.  Most think this verse is speaking of eternal hell but like all such verses used by men, it means what it means and it does not meant that whatsoever.  Lest we forget, let’s keep one very important verse in mind as we read in the Book of Revelation.

Rev 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Blessed (not burned in hell) is the man or woman who is reading these prophecies in Revelation 13 and 14, when they also “hear” these words and keep them (actually live them, do them) for the time of THEIR SALVATION is at hand.  It is only in God’s appointed times for each of us that the veil that blinds ALL OF US, is removed and we shall see the truth.   This mystery is the revealing of Jesus Christ to us, to our inward man.  Such revealing comes with judgment and through much tribulation as has been discussed in recent posts.  These verses above from Revelation speak of this good news, it speaks of all of us, beginning with God’s Elect, drinking of the wine of the wrath of God.  This is how our heavens and earth, that are inside of us are purified.

Salvation means being delivered from sin and its power over our lives.  Salvation is sure and will come to all flesh in the end but we must wait upon the Lord and His appointed times.  First  the beast that all men are must live by all the words that God has spoken and when we hear HIS WORD, spiritually speaking,   then our judgment will begin and this beast will be destroyed.

Joh 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

Joh 12:48  He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

The last day is not referring to the end of the cosmos/world but the end of our carnal age.  It is speaking about when we are given the gift of Faith and the ears to hear the word that brings judgment.  It begins at HIS HOUSE,  the Elect, the chosen ones, so chosen before the world began.

1Pe 4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

What this judgment is all about, is destroying the seven headed ten horned beast that lives within all of us.  We shall surely die said God.

ALL MEN ARE BEASTS

We all will worship the beast.  That is you and me every time we look into the mirror.

Rev 14:9  And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

So many that know the word only in the flesh take these things and apply them outwardly to worldly events but they speak nothing of the sort.  All of us will worship our beast and its image and will receive this mark on our hands or in our forehead.

Ecc 3:18  I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

Ecc 3:19  For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

Ecc 3:20  All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

Beast are made to be destroyed in their appointed time.  The purposes of this life is to teach us good and evil so we will become like God and when He appears to His Elect we will be like Him.   God is in the process of saving many thru the few.  He is preparing the judges who will judge the world in righteousness in the ages to come.

1Co 6:2  Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

1Co 6:3  Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

The purposes of flesh and carnal minds,  the marred vessel of clay, conceived in sin and inequity is for God to later destroy it once it accomplishes its purposes.  God seeks an occasion against all flesh and will in the appointed times for all men destroy the carnality and the mind of the beast we all are given at birth.  Here is the good news of salvation coming thru the destruction of our beast.

Eze 33:26  Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour’s wife: and shall ye possess the land?

Eze 33:27  Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.

Eze 33:28  For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.

Eze 33:29  Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.

Only once this beast is judged and being destroyed will we know that HE IS THE LORD.

Folly of Beast Logic

Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

A beast will never willingly admit and agree with the Apostle’s Paul’s startling statement.  A beast will need to be brought by God in their appointed time to understand what Paul was saying which applies to all men.

The beast innately thinks he is good and man made in the flesh was the image of God versus an initial step to teach us.  Beasts will continue to believe they are or can be good and don’t really need a Savior except to make intellectual ascent.  But the truth is, all of us beasts are sown in dishonor only to be destroyed in God’s timing and made new.

1Co 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
1Co 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
1Co 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

We are sown a beast.  The fact is flesh and blood, which is what defines the beast that we all are cannot enter into the kingdom.  This corrupt beast must be destroyed.  That is God’s plan for the ages.

1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Does being made in dishonor and sown in corruption sound like what God has temporarily made was considered good?

Rom 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

Flesh and blood nor dust shall inherit the kingdom of God. Dust must return from where it came. It must die.  It shall surely die God said to Adam.  That was His purposes in creating these flesh bodies of clay, marred in His hands.

Adam and Eve were naked long before they ate off the tree. That does not mean they had no clothes, it means they were full of sin as that is what flesh is, it is sin. Christ Himself was made sin for us, yet without sin. But nakedness clearly to those given ears means a sinful person.  We are made virtual sinning machines and the lusts of our father the devil we all will want to do.

Gen 2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

I guess David was completely deceived also when he wrote:

Psa 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Solomon must have been an idiot too based on the gospel believed by most.

Ecc 7:20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

The prophet Jeremiah was a fool speaking false words also?

Jer 18:3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
Jer 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

There is nothing good in being made marred? Nothing and yet carnal men want to argue flesh is good.

I guess Paul also was deceived when he wrote this epistle also.

Rom 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
Rom 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Christ and Paul had it right when they said:

Mar 10:18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

Rom 7:17  Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

Rom 7:18  For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

Very few are given the faith to believe these truths and very many are led and ensnared by the traditions of man and its churches.  These believes that flesh is good and we are good people is the delusion God gives us over to based on the idols of our heart.  Our beastly pride blinds us from all the truths of God and we will live in strong delusion until our day of doom, the day of destruction appointed for our beast arrives.  Here is a great chapter that speaks to salvation coming to man, the destruction of the beast, yet our traditions liken this to some kind of eternal punishment.  LOL.

Eze 7:6  An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come.

Eze 7:7  The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains.

Eze 7:8  Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.

Eze 7:9  And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense thee according to thy ways and thine abominations that are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am the LORD that smiteth.

Eze 7:10  Behold the day, behold, it is come: the morning is gone forth; the rod hath blossomed, pride hath budded.

God will show NO PITY on our beast when our day of judgment arrives.  NONE.   Our beast will become an extremely self righteous beast, having great confidence in its flesh and good works and decisions to be involved in religious activities.  When we are at this points, we are in total spiritual darkness yet like Saul of Tarsus think we are actually serving God.

Rev 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

But this beast is nothing more than a child of our father the devil with outward forms of godliness.  It’s day of destruction has not yet come.

The Calling of the Beast

So with this background let’s take a look at the process God uses to bring salvation to men.  His ways are certainly not our ways and His thoughts not aligned with our carnal thoughts and the philosophy of this world and man’s religious traditions

When God first calls a man, that man comes out of the sea, which is a symbol for all humanity, the flesh of all men.

Rev 13:1  And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

We all are this beast and we come having seven heads and ten horns.  What this means is we are a complete and total beast (seven is number of completion) and the ten horns are the perfect doctrine we think we hold as truth.  We are still under the law of sin and death and the 10 commandments at this time.  We then go out and speak words of blasphemy against the true God.  We will condemn and judge all others, look down upon sinners and our journey into Babylon has just begun.  God is in the process of sending us strong delusion as we will believe the lie of the serpent.

Gen 3:4  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die

We do not yet realize that God created all flesh and carnal minds to destroy them in the appointed time.  We will be trying to hold on to our life in this flesh which is what beasts do.  We will oppose the true things of God and twist and pervert the truth to justify our beast.

Rev 13:2  And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

We are likened to a leopard here meaning our true beast nature is hidden (camouflaged) and yet we are quick of feet to run after the flesh and we have a mouth as our father the devil, the roaring lion who seeks to devour.  Our power is from the dragon, our father the devil and we are on our way to take our seat on God’s rightful throne in our hearts.

Rev 13:3  And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

The entire world, ALL MEN will wonder after our beast.  We cannot help but do this, this is how God has made us in these marred and weak vessels of clay.  It is God’s plan for us all to fall backward into deception with the WORD when we first are given the pull and desire to know the things of God.  We must spend our appointed time in Babylon.

Isa 28:13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

It is the outward changes we begin to see when we are dragged in the WORD that God actually uses to keep us bound in deception.  These are tough things to understand but reveal the mystery of God’s plan for the ages and His Elect.

Rev 13:14  And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

But our beast nature is wounded by the word of God.  God has put the desire in our hearts to know His word and this sword we will begin to study and learn, yet still in the flesh and according to the traditions of men.  These traditions have us go right into a church, we must join a church and get involved we are admonished by men.

This is God sending us into Babylon.  Before we can come out of Babylon, we first must go into Babylon which is likened to the wilderness in the stories of ancient Israel.

Everyone has to go to church we are told.   So we go into a religious setting and are made to feel comfortable in our skin and sold the 10 second sinners prayer or our active membership in the denomination as the way of salvation.  This has the effect of healing our deadly wound that the WORD (the sword) initially caused.  And then just as it says, we continue to wonder after the beast (ourselves) and are now simply becoming religious.

Rev 13:4  And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

So please understand,  the churches of men serve a very valuable purpose in God’s plan.  He ordained all things, even the apostate churches of men.  They serve God’s purposes in blinding the whole world (we will get into this below) and calling people out of Egypt.  But this is just the interim stop for God’s Elect, they will come out of Babylon in their appointed times.  They will have no choice in the matter.

Eze 38:3  And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

Eze 38:4  And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

But like Revelation 13:4 says above,  who is like unto the beast?  This is self worship that we all will live and do.  We get hooked into doing many good works and things and participate in morally good activities and in these things we begin to boast.  I, ME, MY is what beasts do which is self worship which is actually bringing glory and honor to their father the devil, the dragon himself.  Our image of God at this point is all self focused, what can God do for me?  We pray for the physical things and ask God to fulfill for us the lusts of our flesh.  We pray amiss and get nothing from God and we do not yet even know Him.  Yet we will not receive correction or rebuke,  the true living WORD we cannot yet hear.  No war can be advanced against our flesh as of yet.  Sure there will be some outward changes in habits and behavior, perhaps even great deliverances from addiction and substances.  And these outward signs are just God keeping us bound in spiritual darkness until our appointed day of destruction arrives.  The fiery word God that makes war on our flesh cannot work until we are given ears to hear.

Rev 13:5  And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

So for the first part of our walk, this symbolic 3.5 years (first half of our 7 years)  we speak great blasphemies against God.  We believe and speak of eternal hell, we take credit and boast in our free will decision to choose God and we actually believe we are good and that our flesh itself can be perfected.  We boast in all the good things we are doing for God in the strength of our flesh.  We are all just fulfilling these words of JOB.  Just look at this self righteous beast exalting himself and glorying in his filthy rags works of the flesh.

Job 29:12  Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him.

Job 29:13  The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.

Job 29:14  I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem.

Job 29:15  I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame.

Job 29:16  I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.

Job 29:17  And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.

Job 29:18  Then I said, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply my days as the sand.

Job 29:19  My root was spread out by the waters, and the dew lay all night upon my branch.

Job 29:20  My glory was fresh in me, and my bow was renewed in my hand.

Job 29:21  Unto me men gave ear, and waited, and kept silence at my counsel.

Job 29:22  After my words they spake not again; and my speech dropped upon them.

Job 29:23  And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.

Wow.  Just look at this beast that lives in all of us.  Me, Myself and I.  So many of us boast in all the good things we do for God not knowing we are simply living as beast under the hedge of God’s protection.  The last posts on Learning Good and Evil spoke about this God’s plan to leave us alone to live in peace until our day of judgment arrives.  CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THAT POST, a very good read.

What a righteous person this is, doing many good things and serving God in their flesh.  This is not the kind of worshippers God wants,  He needs nothing from  a man and He builds His church in his appointed times.

Act 17:25  Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

We continue in self exalted religious reign for 42 months, or 3.5 years, this not being literal but a symbolic period of time known only to God.  In my personal walk, when God called me back to Him,  it was amazingly exactly 42 months from when I started until I rose up out of the earth as this second vile beast in late 2008.

Rev 13:6  And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

And none of us will ever see this until after it  has happened.  We will only see when we HEAR the voice of the Lord and Jesus shows it to  us.  It says John TURNED when he hear this voice behind him.

Rev 1:10  I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

This is when I began this blog site,   I was certainly lead of God to do it but all my prior work was blaspheming the true God and persecuting His saints.  We have no clue that we are doing it, we truly think we are serving God and no man can convince us otherwise.

Joh 16:2  They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

And Christ tells us why we will do this to the Saints.  Because we do not know HIM.

Joh 16:3  And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

We will persecute the true brethren, those that know and worship Christ in Spirit and dwell in heaven. Heaven and the kingdom of God is within us said Christ and those that walk by the Spirit will be hated by us beasts and we will speak all manner of evil against them.  I am now on the other end of this exchange and can see it clearly.

Rev 13:7  And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

The new spiritual man that is trying to emerge from within us as well as that in others professing Christians will be attacked by our judgments and accusations and will for the time be overcome.  The new man, the spiritual man will be laid low and we will remain firmly entrenched in the world and its traditions.  This battle begins within ourselves but extends to those in in the world.

Rev 13:8  And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

This is all men who will ever live.  The heavens and the earth are inside of us. Even the Elect will first worship the beast and have their names erased from the Book of Life.

Exo 32:33  And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

All men sin.  All men defile the temple of God, which temple we are.  So all of us begin with our names in the book and are erased from the Book and in our appointed times will be reinstated.  This begins with the firstfruits, the Elect of God. Only those ELECT who have gotten the victory over the beast will have their names reinstated into the Book of Life.  We must overcome the beast and that is when we are put back into the book.

Rev 3:5  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

John saw looking backward in his vision,  who the overcomers were that stood on the sands of the sea (flesh) and had gotten the victory over their beast.

Rev 15:2  And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

This is salvation!!  Getting the victory over our beast.  Only those the Father has given to Christ will have the ability to hear these words and to understand them.

Rev 13:9  If any man have an ear, let him hear.

I hope some of you are hearing this.  I know it will not be many, it will be very few.  Any even for those, it may be a times, a times and half of time before you understand.  We just plant the seeds and water those others have planted and God will give the increase in the appointed times.  It is the truth and the truth is what God’s chosen instruments will speak.

Mat 22:14  For many are called, but few are chosen.

In God’s strange act,  those religious beast we are, we lead others into captivity and go ourselves into captivity.  Shut up in total spiritual darkness.  We that kill by God’s word will also ourselves be killed by God’s words.  The beast will be slain by the word of God.  Thanks be to God for that.

Rev 13:10  He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

Now being led of God and drinking of strong delusion, we go right smack into captivity and bondage.  We ourselves are now using the sword, the Word of God, the Bible to persecute people, condemn them and judge others.  This is especially true of those who we encounter who are the Elect of God and correct us in our erroneous doctrine and things such as an eternal hell.  We will ignorantly continue to kick against the goads and persecute Christ Himself by virtue of persecuting His Body.  Christ tells us this plainly when speaking with Saul of Tarsus.

Act 9:4  And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

Act 9:5  And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

The Elect will all come to the place where they truly think they are serving God but they are just living strong delusion and that is the next evolution of our beast.

Rev 13:11  And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

Once we have been walking in the Word but are yet carnal we will have become a very self righteous beast.  With our deadly wound now being fully healed by our participation in external fleshly works and good deeds and active participation in the church institutions of men,  this new beast arises out of the earth.  We are the earth, the earth represents our flesh the land that Christ is going to lay desolate in the appointed time.

Gen 1:1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Jer 22:29  O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.

In this next stage of our beastly progression, we now are described as having two horns like a lamb yet still speaking like a dragon.  We are of our father the devil just as the jews that believed on Jesus were so described by the Lord Himself.

Joh 8:44  Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

This beast will fool all but the very Elect.  It will have external forms of godliness and is likely doing many good things in the flesh to serve God.  But we still speak as a dragon and the true motives of Me, Myself and I are at the heart of all that we do.  We live to please ourselves and gain the favor of men, we are not yet living for God yet this is still all unknown to us at this time.

Rev 13:12  And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

All of our religion is defiled and is based on the flesh.  We have now become the abomination that is causing desolation in our own spiritual hearts but we know it not yet.  God has not revealed the truth to us and we cannot hear the true living WORD that will expose all of this.  But that is fixing to change as there is a day and hour appointed for each of us when Jesus Christ will be revealed to us.  This is the whole reason this book is titled,  THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST.  It is the revealing of Christ to us spiritually, in the new man that God is bringing forth from the darkness that we all were created in.

Deceived Thru Signs and Wonders

Rev 13:13  And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

Rev 13:14  And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles (SIGNS) which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

And this is how God truly keeps us blind.  We see outward changes in ourselves and others we speak with on the things of God.  This is the fire coming down from heaven in the sight of men.  It is the same as Paul spoke to the early church.

2Th 2:9  Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

2Th 2:10  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

2Th 2:11  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

The signs and the wonders may be true but their purpose is to keep us in spiritual darkness.  There is none better than the Lord to keep self righteous beasts chained in spiritual darkness awaiting their day of judgment. Of course carnal traditions equate all of this with the demonic doctrine of an eternal hell.

Jud 1:6  And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Yet God’s ways are not our ways.  The way to coming to know Him in Spirit, which is eternal life,  is by first getting madly drunk and walking in strong delusion.

Deu 29:6 Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drinkthat ye might know that I am the LORD your God.

None of us will ever come to know the true God until we first drink of strong drink and get drunk with wine. These of course speak to spiritual things and refer to the fact that all men will come under strong delusions FIRST before they come to know the truth and are set free. Man will truly live by every word in the Scriptures, we will live them all spiritually.  There is no avoiding this process, it is ordained for all men.

Jer 49:12  For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink of it.

Jer 25:28  And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.

Jer 25:29  For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.

God is working all things, good and evil to bring about His purposes.  And His purposes is we all go into Babylon and get madly drunk with wine.

And we are even told how God accomplishes this strong delusion and keeps us bound in spiritual darkness all the while deceiving us into thinking we are really serving Him. It is because of the “signs and wonders” we see when we are first called of God that we believe we are already standing in the truth — yet we are still in the wilderness waiting for our appointed time for judgment. Here is how these beasts, which is all of us, are caught in the grip of strong delusion.

Rev 13:13 And he doeth great SIGNS (wonders), so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, THIS IS YOU AND ME BEGINNING TO KNOW AND SPEAK ABOUT THINGS OF GOD!

Rev 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those SIGNS (miracles) which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

And these signs, deceive those who dwell on the earth (YOU AND ME). And so we use these signs to justify ourselves. We use these signs, these miracles of the outside changes in our live to build up the image of ourselves, which is the beast. One of our heads had been wounded by the WORD of GOD (the sword) when we were first called out of Egypt but was quickly healed when we fell back into the peace and safety environment of Babylon.

Before we come out of her my people our land will be laid desolate and our beast will still dwell in the land while we are gone mad, living in our strong delusion.  This is God’s way and His purposes but such things are indeed hard to understand and are strong meat.

Jer 50:37  A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.

Jer 50:38  A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.

Jer 50:39  Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

Many have great deliverances from ungodly things, addictions, lusts and the like.  The outside of our cup is markedly changed as the sword of the Lord, (HIS word) begins to work in our lives while we are still yet beasts.  These are great wonders and signs that just confirm in our deception that we are standing on the ROCK, but we are yet carnal and know Him not.

Fire is always a reference to the WORD OF GOD, and we use this word, this fire to effect change and do many good works and miracles. The word for miracles should really be SIGN if you research it and see how that Greek word is used in scores of other places. So we see outward SIGNS and changes and improvements in our life and think we have already arrived. The outside of cup is indeed being washed and we are now outwardly religious in many areas. Yet we remain a 7 headed beast and are of our father the devil still. At this point, we are “jews” who believe on Jesus as John 8 shows us but cannot hear His word, even though we will vehemently argue this just as those jews did with Christ.

Rev 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

This mystery of inequity does already work but it will be revealed in the end of the age of our carnal minds.

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

This man, this son of perdition is YOU AND ME. This is all men.  This is the beast.

We all will live by every word. The way to knowing the Lord is thru strong drink and the judgment we all will reap for what we have sown. Many do err in their vision and are right smack in the middle of living Revelation 13.

Isa 28:7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

Pro 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

Here is True Wisdom

Rev 13:18  Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

The mark of the beast that many fear and speculate with all kinds of wild theories is just us and this beast that lives in all of us.  It is the mark of man and the number 6 refers to the flesh and 3X 6 is simple God bringing judgment on all flesh.  We all will take this mark before we are ever marked for God.  We will live by every word!

When we are so blessed by God to be given the gift of faith and shown that we are that beast, then we will truly be wise in the things of God.  When Christ shows us this, we will have no choice but to flee from Judea.

Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Mat 24:16  Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

Mat 24:17  Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house

When we are shown this, we are told to get ready because the great tribulation not have been seen nor will not be seen forevermore is fixing to come upon us.  God must show it to you but only in our appointed times.

Mat 24:21  For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

And this is how God refines His sons.  He scourges them in the fire.  It is through much tribulation that we will enter the kingdom of God.

Isa 48:10  Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

The beast is destroyed in this furnace!  We can only be on the highway to holiness once this beast is destroyed in us by the power of God.

Isa 35:8  And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

Isa 35:9  No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:

When we are given the new wine in a vessel, a body prepared to receive it then our beast shall be slain of the Lord.

Pro 9:1  Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:

Pro 9:2  She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.

When the ROCK that is Christ falls upon us we shall be crushed to powder and our beast shall be destroyed.  This is the mystery of godliness and how Christ is formed in us.

Eze 32:12  By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall, the terrible of the nations, all of them: and they shall spoil the pomp of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed.

Eze 32:13  I will destroy also all the beasts thereof from beside the great waters; neither shall the foot of man trouble them any more, nor the hoofs of beasts trouble them.

Eze 32:14  Then will I make their waters deep, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saith the Lord GOD.

Eze 32:15  When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate, and the country shall be destitute of that whereof it was full, when I shall smite all them that dwell therein, then shall they know that I am the LORD.

Paul lets us know that ALL of us were once of our father the devil, following after the prince of the power of the air.  We all were children of wrath and it is thru that wrath that we come to know the Living God.

Eph 2:2  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Eph 2:3  Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

We all live in and the seven churches of revelation all live in us.  We will live by every word in our beastly nature until the day of the Lord, the day of doom and destruction of our beast arrives.

Dan 4:16  Let his heart be changed from man’s, and let a beast’s heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.

The visions Daniel had tell us the same things the Book of Revelation does regarding our beastly nature and its destruction as the way of knowing the Lord.

Dan 7:3  And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

Dan 7:4  The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.

Dan 7:5  And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

Dan 7:6  After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

Dan 7:7  After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

Part of our learning and maturing in Christ, a big part of it actually, is learning to wrestle with the beasts of this earth.  This includes not only our old man, in that we need to die daily to that beast.  But it also includes dealing with our brothers and sisters who are still in Babylon and will persecute and hate us for coming out of her.

1Co 15:31  I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

1Co 15:32  If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.

I have made many mistakes in my youth and have let that beast rise back up at times.  I have acted like Peter, being yet carnal and have smote the ears of those persecuting and attacking the truth.  If I have done that to you, please forgive me.  But I am learning God willing to stay dead to the beast and let the Lord do the fighting for me.

Joh 18:10  Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.

Joh 18:11  Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

Like Christ, we have to drink of the same cup.  We all have to come thru the wrath of God and be refined through judgment and great affliction.

Mat 20:23  And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with

We have got to remember that as long as we live these weak and marred vessels of clay,  that beast is still yet lurking and hence we have this mysterious saying.

Rev 17:8  The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

The beast was, is not and yet is.  We be crucified with Christ daily for this beast to stay dead and for us to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

To get the victory over the beast, we must first be brought to a place by God that we can be shown we are that beast.  That is what the word of God will do to us when we can hear it spiritually.  It will bring judgment and will accomplish its purposes.  That purpose is to slay the beast and bring about the revealing of Jesus Christ in our hearts.

Rev 19:11  And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Rev 19:12  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

Rev 19:13  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

The beast will be captured by the armies of God and will be cast into the lake of fire, which is the word of God where it will be consumed in the righteous judgment of God.  The purposes of God’s judgments are always for good and the destruction of our beast is a very good thing but it will be painful to the things we so highly esteem in this world.  Far greater blessing to have that beast destroyed here and now on this side of the grave rather than in the ages to come at the final judgment in the lake of fire.

I am going to end this here and hope it will help those for whom it is intended.  But all of these mysteries do not negate the simple truth and promise of this gospel of good news for all men.  All flesh shall see the salvation of the Lord in due time.  All men shall be saved and all beast shall be destroyed.

Luk 3:6  And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

The slain of the Lord shall be very many beasts.  All beasts shall die in the end and all men shall be raised anew and live with God and He will dwell with men.  I will end this long post with a rendering of this very good news and the destruction of many beasts.

Isa 66:15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
Isa 66:16 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.

salvation

When God Gives A Gift You Know It

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Being saved is to have eternal life.  The kingdom of God and eternal life came 2,000 years ago and a few have been entering in ever since in every generation.  Contrary to the teachings of men, salvation is not being spared the wrath and judgment of God; it is coming to know Him and possessing eternal life in the present tense.  The Kingdom of God was near, at the very door 2,000 years ago and many wicked people have been destroyed by Christ’s appearing,  been converted and have entered in ever since.  Even  spiritual prostitutes who played the harlot like me!!  What a blessing to know the Father and the Christ that He has sent.   Jesus prayed this prayer for all of His disciples including those who would come in the future generations.

John 17:3  And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Eternal life is not living forever with the same immortal soul.  That is just another false doctrine of Babylon.  All men shall die.  But it is also true that all men shall be resurrected to life in the ages to come and it is this resurrection to life that is the blessed hope and good news for all men.  But make no mistake eternal life is knowing Christ here and now.  Is better said to be AIONIAN life, a present tense knowing Christ.  Few there be that shall find this way.

1 John 5:20  And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

This new life called eternal life, which means KNOWING GOD, is truly a gift from God that will ultimately come to all men in the appointed time.  This life is found only in the Son.

All men sin, there is not one that does not,  yet God has delivered on His promises to Abraham and will destroy death and make all men alive in due season.

1 COR 15:22  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ ALL shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order

Since my healing and opening of spiritual ears and eyes,  I have come to know that HE is the LORD and was working all things in my life and the lives of all men.   He came suddenly and saved me despite my wicked deeds only on the basis of His Election of me before the world began.  When this happens to you, you will KNOW HE IS THE LORD!

Ezekiel 20:44  And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I deal with you for my name’s sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt deeds, O house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.

Ezekiel 37:13  And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people.

All men, all families, all nations will come to KNOW THE LORD and be saved in their appointed times.  This is the blessed hope on which this good news gospel stands.  Praise God.

Ezekiel 37:28  And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore

Ultimately in the ages to come,  the Lord will be in the midst of ALL MEN.  WOW.  This will happen WHEN the day of salvation comes.   This is the  appointed time for each of us already written in God’s books before the world began.

Psalm 139:16  Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them

I wrote a post a few months ago about this precious GIFT of faith (click here) which is the only way we come to know God.  This gift of faith, is the also the gift of eternal life (“aionian” life) that will appear to all men in each man’s appointed time.  The order is the Elect, the very few,   followed in the ages to come at the 2nd resurrection of the dead of all men.

In speaking these wonderful “good news” things I have not made many friends in the religious community be it online or otherwise.  I continue to study to show myself approved to be able to rightly divide the WORD of truth and speak confidently of the things the Lord has affirmed in my heart.  I want to always be ready to give an answer to those who inquire on the things of God and especially His love and innate mercies and goodness that never ever will fail.

This post is simply a collection of verses that speak to this amazing and wonderful work of God in imparting faith to His people.  All that will be saved will be saved by faith and that too only from God.  This is how God brings and works eternal life in His people.  May those with ears hear these words.

Eph 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that (THE FAITH) not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

The classic verse is one of the most well known but least understood passages in all of Scripture.  The very gift of God is the faith of Christ.  No man chooses and hence no man can boast that they chose Christ and someone else did not.  Man has absolutely no role in his salvation.  It is all the work of God, a circumcision that is truly without hands.

Phil 1:29-30 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,  having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.

What a wonderful verse that reaffirms Jesus statements on the cost all true disciples WILL PAY.  When God blesses grants to you this gift of faith then our suffering has just begun.  We will fill up in the afflictions of Christ and that is where the glory and honor will be for His chosen disciples.  When God gives you this gift, then you come to truly appreciate the potter and clay Scriptures and know they mean exactly what they say.  God is the one is doing all the “willing”,  man has no part in salvation and most certainly not choosing to be saved.

Romans 9:16-18  So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy. 17 For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.” 18 Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.

This theme is in scores of places, especially if we perused the Prophets,  but it crystal clear in the gospels for anyone with eyes to see.  We will come to know God is working all things in all men in all the earth.  When Jesus began building His church by choosing disciples, He told them this.

Luke 10:22  All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.

There is no room to argue these words.  Nobody comes to know the true God and the living WORD of Christ unless the Son chooses .

John 15:16  You did not choose Me, but I chose you

The inward boasting, glorying and the self righteousness we all cannot help but have in our carnal fleshly minds,  will only be destroyed by the brightness of the appearing to Christ in our hearts.  It is this very gift of faith that gives us the access into the grace of God.

Romans 5:1-2  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Ezra 1:5  Then the heads of the fathers’ houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, with all whose spirits God had moved, arose to go up and build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem

Jesus Christ really does build His Church and man has no part in it whatsoever   All of God’s chosen people; His disciples receive grace based on the measure of faith given to each.   It is the Father’s good pleasure to give good gifts to His children that have inherited the kingdom of God.

Eph 4:7-8   But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. 8 Therefore He says:

“When He ascended on high,
He led captivity captive,
And gave gifts to men.”

There are many teachings that make clear, from the negative, that those who do not have faith and do not have ears to hear or eyes to see don’t have faith because they were purposefully blinded and shut up in spiritual darkness by God.  This is the fate of all men and the way we come into this world.  Salvation and imparting of faith and the gift of eternal life is all in the hands of God and His predetermined plan for all of creation.

Romans 11:7-8 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

Only the elect will come to understand. Only the elect will believe in this true gospel.  We will preach it and those God has predestined to hear it and believe will hear it and will believe.  That is an amazing God, declaring the end from the beginning and orchestrating it exactly as He already has spoken.

John 12:39-40 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, 40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Carnal eyes will see these verses but cannot receive them. Of course those that think they chose to have faith will always believe this speak to the man down the street.  But it really is true that God has shut the whole world up into darkness,  He has sent all strong delusion and He will get all the glory when people do come to the true light.  They will know He is the Lord.

Like all words of Scriptures, the understanding must be given to us by God.

Matthew 13:10-13 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”  11 He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. 12 For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. 13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

Chapter Six of John’s gospel is one of my favorites.  It contains some powerful Scriptures and heavy meat for those weaned off the baby milk of salvation for all men.  In this section, we see that all the Father has chosen will come to Jesus.  Nobody is going to exercise free will and decide not to come to Christ.

John  6:37  All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

John 6:39  And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

Nobody who comes to the real Christ is going to be lost.  In my former ignorance and carnal Christianity days,  I preached aggressively against Once Saved Always Saved.  The whole premise of this argument is flawed from both sides that like to argue it constantly.  But neither side understands what salvation is nor the power of God.   Neither know the truth.  But I will believe Christ who says He will lose none of His chosen disciples, except for Judas so the Scriptures would be fulfilled.  EVERY ONE Christ said.

John 6:40  And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Not only will all the Father chooses come.  No man can come unless they are literally dragged, kicking and screaming spiritually speaking by the Father.  The Greek word translated draw in this verse and others, is actually drag and is used in many verses speaking of fishing nets and catching fish.  Something to think about!

John 6:44  No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me drags him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Wise men in the flesh, will be boasting in their free will decisions and self righteously promoting themselves and their carnal knowledge of Scriptures.  I did the exact same thing.  But the real learning only comes from the Father after He drags you to Christ.

John 6:45  It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

Every man that has ears to hear,  “hath heard”  learned from the Father and came to Jesus.  This is the same lesson Jesus explained to Peter on who revealed He was the Christ.

Matthew 16:17  Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven

I long for a world when all people will know the Christ and have this revealing unto them.  That day is coming and is promised for all.  We just must wait on the Lord.   Hallelujah.  The restitution of all things!

All the verses we see that infer man has a choice are being taken out of context by those without ears to hear the truth.   The Scriptures are written for God’s chosen few, the Elect.  They are not written for the people of this world, which certainly includes the multitudes of called but not chosen professing Christians.  When we are told to choose today whom we shall serve, we are choosing AFTER faith and salvation has come.  This is AFTER our day of election has come and we enter into the House of God by faith.  We will then know Christ in the Spirit where we once knew Him only after the flesh.  That is where the orthodox followers of Christ are to this very day.

Despite my numerous mistakes and errors of late,  I am thankful for the forgiveness of sin for the children of covenant.  I will press on with my new found brothers and sisters in Christ for the upward calling of God which is a crown of righteousness.  I pray I will be found worthy and be in this blessed and holy first resurrection.  Those so chosen of God must remain faithful to the end and not disqualify themselves from receiving their crown of righteousness.

1 COR 9:27  But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

No this verse does not speak to losing ones salvation, it speaks of not remaining faithful to the calling and election placed on the chosen few.  I am learning not to be like Peter and cut the ears off of those who seem to keep coming, bringing confrontation.  Jesus will heal those ears.  In my youth, I have done just that but was reminded the other day of these words of the Lord to His chosen disciples.

Matthew 10:16  Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

Learning to be peaceful and humble through all of this is a learning curve.  I do apologize to any that I hurt in my non dove response in defense of this awesome God I now serve.  Those who do not hear, cannot hear and this is how and why we must show them the same mercy we ourselves have been shown by our Father in heaven.

Luke 10:16  He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me

No sense talking once it is clear someone cannot hear.  Those who reject are not rejecting me, they are really rejecting Christ and God will deal with them in their appointed time.  Tis why we need to move on when these words of love and good news are not received.   God is faithful even when we are not.  What He has vowed, He will do.

Jonah 2:9  But I will sacrifice to You
With the voice of thanksgiving;
I will pay what I have vowed.
Salvation is of the Lord

May the  peace and the love of Christ fill your hearts.
