The Sons of Aaron

Sons of Aaron, notes compiled from prior teachings

Introduction

Christ speaks to us today spiritually and as always as we have seen in all of our previous studies on the milk doctrines and Offerings, the OT shadows points to the spiritual realities for us today in order to know the Father, Christ and those whom He is sending Luk 17:3). This is age abiding life.

Joh 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Joh 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

The tribe of Levi

The Levites who served and are serving that cannot touch the holy things of the temple, are from the same tribe as the priests. Who then are Aaron and his sons, and why were they chosen as priests? Aaron and his sons are Levites but they form the priesthood and are set apart to God to minister and serve. Christ is our High Priest and we are like Him. Aaron which typifies Christ ministers in the Holy of Hollies.

Exo 28:35 And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when He goeth in unto the holy place before the LORD, and when he cometh out, that he die not.

Exo 28:36 And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.

When we love, i.e. keep the commands and teach others to do so, we, serve each other as His priests.

Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Priests, sons of Aaron, come out of the Levites, like we, are coming out of spiritual Babylon. In other words, spiritual Levites, represent hearers only before our Day of the Lord versus sons of Aaron, sons of Christ, BEING MADE into His Image through our baptism of fire. Levites have not been tested and tried yet.

  • Priests are hallowed
  • Priests are anointed

The Lord establishes Aaron and his sons as priests for the purpose 0f ministering to God and His people by hallowing them for the job.

Exo 29:1 And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest’s office: Take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish,

The primitive root for H6942: to be (causatively make, pronounce or observe as) clean (ceremonially or morally): – appoint, bid, consecrate, dedicate, defile, hallow, (be, keep) holy (-er, place), keep, prepare, proclaim, purify, sanctify (-ied one, self), X wholly

Priests are BEING washed with water first (our first BAPTISM).

Exo 29:4 And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shalt wash them with water.

Then, priests are being anointed with oil, baptized into His DEATH, a process.

Exo 29:7 Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him.

Mat 20:22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.

God, the Father uses Christ and His Christ, those with wisdom to ordain His ministers.

Exo 28:41 And thou shalt put them uponH3847 (H853) (H853) AaronH175 thy brother, H251 and his sonsH1121 withH854 him; and shalt anointH4886 them, and consecrateH4390 (H853) H3027 them, and sanctifyH6942 them, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s officeH3547

The first appointments to any office with Christ in His tabernacle was done with the laying on of hands of Moses to Aaron and his sons. For us this has a spiritual meaning, found in Timothy.

1Ti 5:17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
1Ti 5:18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
1Ti 5:19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
1Ti 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
1Ti 5:21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.
1Ti 5:22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.

The Hebrew concept of consecration is to “fill the hands” with the one you are placing yours hands on. In other words, in order to ordain anyone to an office of the Lord, one must give their full confidence to the one being appointed and also recognize that by doing so they too will have their “hands full” and be able to lay hands on others.

Ministry of the sons of Aaron

Num 18:1 And the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father’s house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
Num 18:2 And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the tabernacle of witness.
Num 18:3 And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die.
Num 18:4 And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you.
Num 18:5 And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: that there be NO WRATH ANY MORE upon the children of Israel.
Num 18:6 And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you they are given as a gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Num 18:7 Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest’s office for everything of the altar, and within the vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest’s office unto you as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
Num 18:8 And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Behold, I also have given thee the charge of mine heave offerings of all the hallowed things of the children of Israel; unto thee have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to thy sons, by an ordinance forever.

The priests of God were and are BEING anointed so that they can be set aside and consecrated to SERVE the Lord, and by SERVING the Lord they are being used so that NO MORE WRATH comes upon the children of Israel WITHIN first and then without. For us today, it means we are being made into kings and priests, being saved if we endure.

Rev 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
Rev 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

MINISTERING to the people, within first, we judge ourselves and love our brethren without. Remember love is the bond of perfection.

Act 5:25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are STANDING IN THE TEMPLE, and TEACHING THE PEOPLE.

1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1Co 9:13 Do ye not know that they which MINISTER ABOUT THE HOLY THINGS live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?

And here is what the priests of God, who have been ORDAINED by the Lord, speak and preach about the temple among other things:

2Co 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
2Co 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

God uses the FOOLISHNESS OF PREACHING to spread His Word and to confound/confuse those who are “wise in their own hearts” within and without.

1Co 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Being saved is a continuous process just like preaching and teaching is. “Spiritual priests” in this role are given to train up other kings and priests who will all be joined together in the fullness that is to come later after the 1st resurrection. Priests have no dominion over anyone’s faith but rather persuade and declare all the counsel of God Acts 20:27 – 30).

Heb 13:13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
Heb 13:14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
Heb 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
Heb 13:16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Heb 13:17 Obey (better translation be persuaded) them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Spiritual priests feed the church and declare, with the Words of God, the counsel of God to the flock of God, because they are overseers. As women, first looking within and then without, we do not teach in the church but rather apart from prophesying do this:

1Ti 5:10 Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

Tit 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

Tit 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

Tit 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

The iniquity of the priesthood

The iniquity of the priesthood falls on us all, to learn and be raised up as kings and priests. However, it is God, via His Spirit, who anoints those in whom He would have serve the TEMPLE, the body of Christ, by being overseers NOW in this present age. Think spiritually, it is the man child within that oversees the old man. Without, the Lord appoints elders and overseers of the flock and we as women prophesy and do not teach our elders.

1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

We no longer know no man after the flesh, and just as Christ was a son of man and the Son of God, we must recognize that the Lord still has us all living in temporary tabernacles that we must endure with the guidance and counsel of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the Head and anyone following Him will always be pointing to Him in all things. God set some in the church in different functions with different gifts and that includes those that today fill the role of being chosen, anointed and given to “bear the iniquity of the sanctuary” being in service to “bear the iniquity of the priesthood” without in the Body. What is the iniquity of the priesthood? Remember those spiritual words we are to speak?

Teaching, being overseers, speaking the Truth about Life and the Way and pronouncing the commandments of God are all roles which are fulfilled by those given to fill the spiritual function of being a priest in the temple and ministering to the people of God, speaking words of truth and soberness.

Act 26:24 And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.
Act 26:25 But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.

1Co 14:19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

The honor of being part of the priesthood is found in these Scriptures and that is to be part of the holy first resurrection, when the fullness of times has come, we experience it now in down payment form (2 Cor 1:22).

Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand

Suffering for Christ

As the sons of Christ, sons of Aaron in type and shadow, we suffer with Christ. This is the calling of all kings and priests, there is a price we are paying:

2Ti 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him, if we deny him, he also will deny us:

Rom 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

1Pe 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

High priest

Christ is our High Priest and we are being made into His sons. As He is, so are we (1 John 4:17).

Heb 3:1 (ESV) Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession,

Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Understanding the connection between Christ and His sons, the Christ, always entails knowing how the High Priest is chosen.

Heb 5:1 For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
Heb 5:2 Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
Heb 5:3 And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
Heb 5:4 And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
Heb 5:5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee.

The body is made up of “many members in particular”, those members are given gifts, not of themselves but given by God.

1Co 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many.

1Co 12:31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

1Co 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

Like Joseph in type and shadow, priests are called out from their brothers and are given special clothing and placed and 1) anointed above their brothers. 2) Priest are to teach their brothers. 3) Priests bear the ark. 4) Priests are to blow the seven trumpets of judgment, and 5) Priests are to blow the two trumpets of witness.

1) Priests are anointed “above their fellows.”

Psa 45:7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed [mashach – #4886] thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Heb 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, [even] thy God, hath anointed [chrio -5548] thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Heb 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

2) Priests are faithful teachers:

1Sa 2:35 And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.

2Ki 17:27 Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land.

Mar 8:31 And he [Christ] began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

3) Priests bear the ark;

Jos 3:8 And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the water of Jordan, ye shall stand still in Jordan.

2Co 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Priests stands firm on the doctrine of Christ:

Jos 4:10 For the priests which bare the ark stood in the midst of Jordan, until everything was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua: and the people hasted and passed over.
Jos 4:11 And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over, that the ark of the LORD passed overand the priests, in the presence of the people. [Or to put this in New Testament terms:]

Col 1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and [be] not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

4) Only the priests blow the seven trumpets:

1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Jos 6:13 And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rearward came after the ark of the LORD, [the priests] going on, and blowing with the trumpets.

Jos 6:16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.

Rev 8:2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. …….. Rev 8:6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

5) Only the priests blow the two silver trumpets. These trumpets announce general gatherings, alarms for journeys, special gatherings, and to go to war in our land Num 10:1 – 7,9).

Num 10:8 And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance forever throughout your generations.

Mat 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Conclusion

God’s anointed priests who live in “the day of small things”, are those who are being made faithful to His Words.

1Co 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Jesus Christ IS making holy garments for His prophets so that they too can be used to show the glory and beauty of the work of the Lord.

Exo 28:3 And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.

Moses as type and shadow of Christ, will do the making by “speaking to the wise hearted who have the spirit of wisdom (Christ)” so that they can make these garments of consecration. We are prophets the Lord uses to minister to others. Priests wear holy garments to approach the Lord properly. We see six different items being made: A breastplate, and ephod, a robe, a broidered coat, a mitre and a girdle.

Exo 28:4 And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.

Priests, sons of Aaron, have been ordained by God and are being clothed with items that the children of Israel are using to create to give God all the glory. We, the spiritual Jews, the Bride of Christ, come together to represent all the many membered functions and gifts of the body of Christ. The image of the items given to the priests to wear and what they represent tells us that Christ takes His judgments seriously. Sons of Aaron, minister inside the vail and are the covering cherubs guarding the Words of Life (John 6:63), doers of His Word, coming out of the Levites who coming behind in no gift are yet carnal. We are all spiritual Levites and sons of Aaron in our seasons and times because we live by every Word of God (Matt 4:4). Look inwardly is, was and will be as the Lord is working with us through Christ and His sons (Heb 13:21).

Spiritual Levites have the appearance of godliness but the sons of Christ have the POWER of Life which are ……. the Words that I am speaking (John 6:63). They continue to abide in Christ and is being made faithful.

Micah Part 6 – Ministering the Grace of God

By Pete Wilson

The journey spoken of in Micah contains very few words but these words are full of symbolism and meaning that are being digged out by the kings and priests of the Lord (Pro 25:2).  All these things are written to admonish and edify the sons of God so they can be prepared for the Lord’s service in doing the greater works (Joh 14:12).

Living by every Word of God means we are Micah in our appointed times and we will be put into service as we are made ready on the road to Zion.

Isa 51:16  And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.

Jer 1:9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

Like Saul of Tarsus, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Isaiah and all the Lord’s prophets, we have no choice or free will in our commissioning into service or any other aspect of our life.  Here is our one verse for this study.

Mic 1:14 Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moreshethgath: the houses of Achzib shall be a lie to the kings of Israel.

8. Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moreshethgath.

The first thing we need to recall is that Micah the prophet is from and is an inhabitant of Moreshethgath.  That is what being a Morashtite means:

H4183 – Morasthite, mo-rash-tee’ – Partial from H4182; a Morashtite or inhabitant of Moresheth Gath

There is great significance in numbers and what they represent in Scripture.  In the same way, it seems the order of these cities in Micah are also important and hold spiritual wisdom.  This is the eighth city, the city of Moreshethgath, and represents the new man within us rising up in service to the Lord.  The number eight as we know refers to new beginnings and specifically the new man, the spiritual circumcision that occurs on the eighth day.

Gen 21:4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.

An inhabitant of Moreshethgath, a Morashtite is “getting there” and starting to mature and be used more and more in service.  Those that serve the Lord are those that reap the reward and are given the inheritance of Jesus Christ that comes at the end of the journey if we are in that blessed and holy first resurrection.

Col 3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ

We cannot serve the Lord in Spirit until we are given to let go of the pulls of our flesh and this world we all have as carnal men.

Exo 9:13 And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

Christ builds His church by freeing a chosen few of their bondage to this world and its elementary principles and raises up His prophets that go speak His Words to serve His Body.

Zep 3:9  For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.

We need to break Moresheth Gath into its two root words to recall what is being said.

H4182, môresheth gath – From H3423 and H1661; possession of Gath; Moresheth-Gath, a place in Palestine: – Moresheth-gath.

H3423 – A primitive root; to occupy (be driving out previous tenants, and possessing in their place); by implication to seize, to rob, to inherit; also to expel, to impoverish, to ruin

The KJC shows how this root word for is most aptly translated as Possess or Inherit.

Here are three examples of the most common uses of the root word for Moresheth.  It is used in the context of possessing the land, the receiving of the promise of salvation, our inheritance.

Gen 22:17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

Amo 2:10 Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite

Isa 60:21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

And an NT witness to support the inheritance being our inheritance of the earth.

Mat 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world

The second part of the name, Gath, is the word for WINEPRESS.

H1660 – gathProbably from H5059 (in the sense of treading out grapes); a wine press (or vat for holding the grapes in pressing them): – (wine-) press (fat).

It is by enduring in this winepress that we are being judged (in this age) and that is how salvation comes to us little by little as we mature.  “This crushing to powder” is what makes the light to the world burn brightly within us (Exo 27:20).

Lam 1:15 The Lord hath trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he hath called an assembly against me to crush my young men: the Lord hath trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress [H1660 – GATH]

We also saw in Part 1, that the word Gath has a root according to Strong’s that links this winepress to the singing of a new song and playing music to the Lord.  Spiritually our abiding in this devouring fire and the noise and harmony is the sound of salvation to the new man.  The redeemed of the Lord (new man) sings forth the praises to God giving thanks to the Lord for ALL THINGS.

Isa 51:11 Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

Rev 14:3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

We have just come from spiritual Lachish and the other inward cities where we have our nakedness (sinfulness) laid bare before us and now we clearly see ourselves for what we are in these clay vessels of our own strength and initiative. The multitudes of heathen within us are wakened and come forth for judgment by this journey through the land.

Joe 3:12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.

Joe 3:13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press [H1660 -GATH] is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.

The valley of decision is really the valley of gold or diligence [H2742] and where we buy  pure gold tried in the fire (Rev 3:18).

Joe 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision [diligence]: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision [diligence].

This smiting of the heathen nations within us is what brings us to maturity in due time.

Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Our Master puts a winepress in His vineyard within us.

Mat 21:33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:

As this parable teaches us, it is God’s own people who take His gifts but would rather spend them on their own lusts and pride of life.  We kill Christ within and without in our rebellion.

Mat 21:38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.

Christ comes the second time to bring fire and take this kingdom from the rebellious old man  and give it to the new man He raises up from the ashes of our inward desolation (Mat 21:44).

So an inhabitant of Moresheth Gath is someone inheriting or possessing the land in Christ Jesus by virtue of abiding in the winepress and drinking the cup of the Lord’s wrath now in this age.  The beast (Goliath from Gath) within is under subjection.  This defines the very elect of God who are judged first (1 Pe 4:17, 1 Co 11:30-31) so they will be used of the Lord to rule and judge the nations in the ages to come (Rev 20:4, 1 Cor 6:2).  We are not being used for service until we are able to eat strong meat (the suffering, the afflictions) that is the sacrificial Lamb of the Body of Christ (Heb 5:13, Col 1:24, Phi 1:29).  This is how we become mature in time.

Joh 6:56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

Imparting Presents/Gifts to Moreshethgath

The Lord is saving us for His purposes, not for our own.  Raising us up now is so we can be put into service and begin to be prepared for our roles to come.  This is what giving “presents” to Moreshethgath is all about.  It is about SERVING the body of Christ.  Like our Lord, we are being raised up now in down payment form to SERVE and MINISTER.

Mat 23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

Mar 10:45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

We do this by speaking the Word (Jer 5:14), loving God (1 Joh 5:3) and doing good works. Our gifts and oil are first and foremost to be poured out on The Christ (Joh 12:3, Mat 26:7) as the parable of the Alabaster Jar tells those with ears to hear.  The people of God serve each other with our God given gifts.

1Pe 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

The Elect are the angels of the Lord that minister to our fellow brethren who is “Jesus Christ”.

Mat 4:11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Here is what our ministry is all about, these being spiritual statements in edifying and purifying the Bride of Christ.  We edify, admonish, exhort and reprove one other with the Word.  This is what brings spiritual healing, raising from the spiritually dead and casting out devils which are lies and false doctrines.  We are commanded to freely give what has been freely given to us.

Mat 10:8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

The word translated as presents or gifts in Micah 1:14 is H7964 found only 3 times (1 Ki 9:16 – Present, Mic 1:14 – Presents and Exo 18:2 – Sent) in Scripture.  Looking at the root of this word H7971 confirms the real meaning of giving presents.

Here are the major uses of this word and one can see SENT or SEND is the primary context.

The giving of our presents to Moreshethgath is linked to us being sent by the Lord.  Here is the use of the root word for PRESENTS [H7971] from this well-known passage in Isaiah.

Isa 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, [H7971] and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send [H7971] me.

The ultimate test of our faith is our obedience.  Will we do as we are commanded?  The Lord is raising up His prophets and send them to be His ministers.

Oba 1:1 The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent [H7971] among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.

The elect are the Lord’s laborers, whom He sends to do His work.

Mat 20:2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

It is thru the giving of our presents or service that the church of the living God is built to those given to believe.

2Ti 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

We should always be looking for ways to impart spiritual gifts and physical ones where appropriate to meet the needs of the Lord’s people.  Everyone in the Body, all the prophets have gifts of one degree or another.

1Co 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

The key takeaway from our eighth city, is we get there by the grace of the Lord and then once commissioned, we are obedient and being sent to go serve the Lord, giving the presents (our service) to the Body as a representative of Jesus Christ.  It is by the ministration of the Lord’s grace, THRU HIS PROPHETS that we are completing this journey and receive our full reward.  We are ministering only according to our own gift.

1Pe 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

To mature, we need to take heed the commandments to serve and grow in our ability to be the Lord’s able ministers.

Eph 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Now let’s consider the ninth city mentioned and the second part of verse 14.

Mic 1:14 Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moreshethgath: the houses of Achzib shall be a lie to the kings of Israel.

9. The houses of Achzib are for a lying thing to the kings of Israel.

Achzib means lies and deception.

H392, ‘akzı̂yb, ak-zeeb’

From H391; deceitful (in the sense of a winter torrent which fails in summer); Akzib, the name of two places in Palestine: – Achzib.

Once we are sent, we are still and even more so in our day of judgment.  We must take heed we do not fall and not be surprised if we are severely tested (1 Pe 4:12).  When tested, those that are not DOERS will fall.  The winnowing process we mentioned in the last study NEVER ENDS.

Luk 6:49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Its root is H391, ‘akzâb found twice in Scripture. liar, 1 Jer 15:18  lie, 1 Mic 1:14

The root of H391 is H3576 and is also always in the context of deception.

H3576, kâzab, kaw-zab’

A primitive root; to lie (that is, deceive), literally or figuratively: – fail, (be found a, make a) liar, lie, lying, be in vain.

It takes looking at the use of Achzib in Scripture to gain a deeper understanding of what we are being told by Micah.  Achzib is mentioned only four places in Scripture.

Total KJV occurrences: 4

Jos_15:44, Jos_19:29, Jdg_1:31, Mic_1:14

What we see is there are actually two distinct cities within the whole of Israel called Achzib.  There is one in Judah, in the Philistine plain area we have been focused on that was given to the tribe of Judah (the lineage of Jesus Christ) and included in the list of cities in Joshua 15.  The second city Achzib is way up north and was part of the inheritance given the tribe of Asher (Jos 19:29).  Asher did not drive out the Canaanites from their cities and Achzib is associated with the Canaanites.

Jdg 1:31 Neither did Asher drive out the inhabitants of Accho, nor the inhabitants of Zidon, nor of Ahlab, nor of Achzib, nor of Helbah, nor of Aphik, nor of Rehob:

Jdg 1:32 But the Asherites dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: for they did not drive them out.

The Canaanites are linked to merchants, and peddlers and traffickers in the things of the Lord.

H3669 – Canaanite – Patrial from H3667; a Kenaanite or inhabitant of Kenaan; by implication a pedlar (the Cananites standing for their neighbors the Ishmaelites, who conducted mercantile caravans): – Canaanite, merchant, trafficker.

We bring idols with us into Jerusalem and commit adultery against the Lord (Jam 4:4).  We must be given to overcome the pride of life that causes us to seek gain from our supposed godliness.  We must learn to be content and beware of the prideful lusts of the Canaanites within ourselves and outside of ourselves, even in the professing Body of Christ.  People peddle stuff for gain.  Here is a warning against the lies of the Canaanites that are traced back to our pride and us being puffed up.

1Ti 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

1Ti 6:4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

On our road to maturity comes as these Canaanite nations are being conquered within us.  They shall  no more be found in the house of the Lord, which house we are as God’s sons.  They will be cut off in due time as we move on to maturity.

Zec 14:21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.

The people of God must be separated and learn not to touch anything that is unclean.  Taking heed of our doctrine and trying the Spirits is keen to our ability to keep walking the narrow road.  Many have and will continue to fall off the narrow road and depart from the living God.

1Ti 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

This journey in the land of Judah as we approach our inheritance is where we learn to spare nothing alive and sweep the Canaanites out of our heavens and our earth. The history of the tribe of Judah shows their conquest of the Canaanites in many places (Judges 1:7-17).  These stories are examples of us of the wars and battles we fight to overcome these lies and idols.

Rev 18:11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

We do all of this by putting on the whole armor of God and engaging in spiritual warfare daily.

1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Peter wrote to THE CHURCH, the Body, and we best learn to always keep watch.  Many brothers and sisters have fallen before and have not endured.  Leaven enters in, we get prideful and if we exalt ourselves above the Body of Christ, we will be cut off.

Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Isa 14:15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Kings have the role of judging (2 Ch 1:11, Rev 20:4).  God’s elect are being prepared to be the judges of the whole world, through which all of mankind will be saved.  That indeed is how we are redeemed from the earth (our carnally minded way of life) and given salvation (dominion over sin).  Christ in us, the rising King, IS NOT judging according to the flesh but judges all things spiritually by using the Word of the Lord i.e. righteous judgement.

Lev 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge

2Co 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh

The houses of Achzib are idols and strongholds of the carnal mind still resident in our heart and minds that keep us from Judging Righteous Judgment.  They must be burned out on our way to maturity.  The Kings of Israel will not be able to judge righteous judgment and stand solely on the Word with these deceptive strongholds within us.   As we mature and our faith grows, we get much better at doing this.  We have many wonderful studies and practical lessons on Spiritual Warfare that will edify me and you to be diligent in exercising the spiritual judgments that kings of the Lord must perform daily.  We must remain diligent always!

1Jn 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ

The takeaway lesson of Achzib is the exhortation to engage in spiritual warfare and not do as the Asherites did and fail to purge the land completely of the lies and false doctrines.  The Kings of Israel, which kings we are as the elect can and are ensnared and fall away by the lies of Achzib.

We are nearing the end of this 11 city journey, yet the Book of Micah is only getting started.  As we begin to serve the Body and become able ministers of grace (Moreshethgath) and excellent discerner’s of spirits (Achzib) we are maturing into our roles of being kings and priests.  This is our on the job training for the Elect’s role in the Millennium and the Lake of Fire.

Rev 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
