For Our Admonition Part 17

“Remaining Vigilant and Overcoming Fear”

Key Verses:  Jdg 7:1 – Jdg 7:15

After being given the affirmative signs that the Lord was blessing Gideon’s work and the land would be blessed (signs of the dew), Gideon prepares to engage in warfare with the Midianite army.  This lesson is for us to learn of God’s ways in waging spiritual war against our inward enemies that are the carnal thoughts and lies that ensnare us all in unbelief.   Here is our first set of verses for this study.

Jdg 7:1  Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.

Jdg 7:2  And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.

Jdg 7:3  Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten.

Jdg 7:4  And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.

Jdg 7:5  So he brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink.

Jdg 7:6  And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.

Jdg 7:7  And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.

Jdg 7:8  So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.

The army of Israel camping out at the well of Harod tells of Gideon’s yet fearful state of mind regarding the battle he has been tasked with leading for the Lord.   Camping at the well of Harod, which is a name only mentioned this one time in all of Scripture, signifies what we see more expressly in Jdg 7:10-11 which we will cover shortly.  Harod is Strong’s H5869 and means eyes and comes from a root word H2729 which means afraid and which well is referred to as fountain of tears or fountain of trembling.  We, like Gideon, even after being given mighty signs, still fear the flesh and going into the hot fire that is needed to wage spiritual warfare.  There is some growing still needed.

2Co 5:7  For we walk by faith, not by sight (our physical eyes or senses):

The young and immature new man will be greatly oppressed by design (Rom 8:20) by the heathen nations representing the carnal mind and its millions of lies and false doctrines (Rev 9:16).  We overcome our fears of men and fears of judgment by first giving into such fears and being overcome with fear.   The wisdom of God has us being strong in Spirit by first being shown we are weak in the flesh (2Co 12:10).  It’s only when we have no hope in ourselves that the Lord takes over.

Exo 14:14  The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Psa 56:2  My enemies would hound me all day, For there are many who fight against me, O Most High.

Psa 56:3  Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.

Psa 56:4  In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?

Php 3:3  For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

We first find Moreh, the place of the Midianite camp, mentioned in the Bible as the place on the west side of the Jordan in the land of Canaan.  It was here the Lord spoke to a new journeyman Abram to encourage him.

Gen 12:6  And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.

Gen 12:7  And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.

Those words of the Lord were like rain on a dry earth which brings forth righteousness. The Midianites are camped by the hill or Moreh which means rain [H4175] and comes from a root [H3384] meaning to teach.  It takes the Word of God, the doctrines of Christ (God’s rain Deu 32:1) falling from the clouds and the heavens to bring judgment.  The assembly of the Midianites at Moreh in the valley of Jezreel signals that judgment has come to deliver the land. The former and latter rains (Words and doctrines of Christ) are what curses the old man and brings the blessing to the new man by way of judgment.

Joe 2:23  Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain [H4175]  moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain [H4175], and the latter rain in the first month.

Heb 6:7  For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

The Midianite camps are strongholds and idols of carnal thinking that live in the valley and depressions of our earth.  Those valleys will be filled with spiritual blessings, which is the judgment of the old man.  That is how all flesh is being saved.

Luk 3:5  Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

Luk 3:6  And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

The stage is set for the Judge of Israel (Christ in His Elect) to begin judging the nations and cleansing the land within us.  Yet there is a problem in that Gideon (and you and me in our immaturity and weakness of faith) is still afraid of the fight ahead. Christ becomes unattractive quickly when we realize there is more to it than knowing doctrine.

Luk 14:33  So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

There is no turning back.  We have to get over the hump and be willing to lose everything to be used of the Lord in judgment of the nations within and without.

Luk 17:32  Remember Lot’s wife.

Luk 17:33  Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

What is the Lord’s response to us being weak in faith and still fearing the war with the flesh?  His ways are not our ways whatsoever!  Instead of giving us more resources to comfort us in our carnal reasoning, the Lord strips what little comfort we might have by taking away 99% of our army in reducing it from 32,000 to 300 men.  The winnowing down of the army is a well-known parable (Hos 12:10).  Coming to understand the Lord’s ways and fighting spiritual warfare always brings us back to faith and not trusting in our own abilities.  There are three primary lessons learned in the process of the Lord winnowing down Gideon’s army.

The first macro lesson is that God’s Elect, who is the Israel of God, is a very SMALL group.  It is indeed very few that make up His people and the army by which the nations are being and shall be judged and subdued is, was and will be.

Mat 22:14  “For many are called, but few are chosen.”

Luk 12:32  Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

The Lord will have it be known that He is the Saviour and Deliverer and we are merely the instruments through which He works His greater works (Oba 1:21, Joh 14:12).

1Co 1:29  That no flesh should glory in his presence.

The Lord only appears to and is choosing this 1% (300/32000) who have been prepared to know they need repentance (Luk 15:7) and a Saviour to save them from their enemies.  It is this same small army by which the heathen nations within ourselves and without are judged by the fiery Word we speak (Jer 5:14) at the appointed times.  The battle with the Midianites is a type and shadow of this end time battle as Christ is revealed in us.

Rev 19:11  And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Rev 19:13  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Rev 19:14  And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

A second key lesson in this story of winnowing down the army, is that the fearful don’t make the cut and are unable to accomplish many miracles and good works in their unbelief.  Those not given the gift of faith will continue to fear men and are sent away as they cannot be used of the Lord.

Rev 22:15  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Where faith lacks and unbelief rules, not many mighty works get done and that includes the works in purging the Midianites within us.

Mar 6:5  And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

King Saul was rejected as king for his disobedience in not killing all the Amalekites.  His disobedience was because he feared men and obeyed them rather than God. This is our inward battle we fight every day with the Midianites.

1Sa 15:23  For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

1Sa 15:24  And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

Twenty-two thousand (22,000) that feared went home leaving 10,000 in the camp.    The fearful have been purged yet there is more purging to prepare the weak and despised army of Christ for a successful conquest.

The third and most noteworthy lesson as it pertains to this parable is the requirement for vigilance (faithfulness) in our walk of faith.  The opposite of vigilance is lasciviousness where we turn the grace of God and the law of faith into a lazy justification (Jud 1:3) to stop striving at every turn to stay on this narrow road.  The NON-vigilant are not going to make it.

Rev 17:14  These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

We are not faithful when we are not vigilant in discerning between the good and the evil and acting in a godly way. We get there by experience and use.

2Co 10:3  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.

2Co 10:4  For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,

Heb 5:14  But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Lord willing, we are being given a spirit of vigilance and be chosen of the Lord to fight against the Midianites within ourselves so we can make that blessed and first holy resurrection.  The lapping of water like a dog or a leopard is a metaphor for what the Lord wants His army to be doing in always keeping guard and watching.

1Pe 5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Mat 26:41  Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Luk 12:35  “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning;

Vigilance differs from a similar word “diligence” mainly in the aspect of watching. Both denote the act of being careful and being conscientiousness.  The vigilant keep watch or else so they will not be overcome and snared by Midianites and others evils.

Rev 3:3  Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Our failures to be vigilant require a repeat of the fiery grace lessons (Rom 5:20) and experiencing anew the wrath of God against our unbelieving and lascivious ways.

1Th 5:6  Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

1Th 5:7  For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

1Th 5:8  But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

With the army now reduced to 300 men, Gideon waits on the Lord who then gives the command to go take the Midianite camp.  The very thing that disqualified the majority of Gideon’s army, being fearful; has now afflicted Gideon, the judge and mighty man of valor in the making.  Gideon still fears even after the four times the Lord proclaimed victory (Jdg 6:14, 6:16; 7:7, 7:9) and despite having been given three confirming signs.

Jdg 7:9  And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Arise, get thee down unto the host; for I have delivered it into thine hand.

Jdg 7:10  But if thou fear to go down, go thou with Phurah thy servant down to the host:

Jdg 7:11  And thou shalt hear what they say; and afterward shall thine hands be strengthened to go down unto the host. Then went he down with Phurah his servant unto the outside of the armed men that were in the host.

Jdg 7:12  And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.

Jdg 7:13  And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.

Jdg 7:14  And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand hath God delivered Midian, and all the host.

Jdg 7:15  And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the LORD hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian.

Until faith is given to the few, men of all kinds, even religious ones, remain in bondage to fear.  The shadow of true faith, the law of Moses, commanded that Israel be not afraid before engaging their enemies.  This law further requires the priests to come speak and encourage the people!  Sharing our testimony is what the Lord’s priests do in helping one another overcome their fears and reminding us often that the victory is already won.  It is the duty of God’s priests to lift up one another and bolster faith and confidence in what the Lord wills for His people that believe.  The battle truly is the Lord’s.

Deu 20:1  “When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.

Deu 20:2  So it shall be, when you are on the verge of battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people.

Deu 20:3  And he shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them;

Deu 20:4  for the LORD your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’

Overcoming fear of death takes strong faith and it is passing that point of maturity that brings lasting deliverance.

Heb 2:14  Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

Heb 2:15  And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Gideon, like all of us, is commanded to engage in war needs strengthening and encouragement by his fellow “neighbors and laborers” in the faith. The Lord tells Gideon to go with a servant named Phurah to the camp of Israel’s army and listen to what he hears spoken.  Phurah is a name only found in the Bible in these verses of Judges 7.  It comes from a root word H6288 meaning young branches, new shoots or sprigs like of a tree or plant.  Gideon is Phurah as he is still young in service yet he in shadow, like all the elect, are mighty men of valor that will be the instruments of judgment and salvation to the entire human race which is ALL ISRAEL (Mat 19:27, 1Co 6:2).  Being made ready requires us to walk with Christ through His Christ and be taught war.

Pro 24:5  A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

Pro 24:6  For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

1Ti 4:10  For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

1Ti 4:11  These things command and teach.

Angels of the Lord, our fellow brethren, who have walked before us are there to lead us through the tough times with comfort, encouragement and exhortation.  Even our Lord needed strengthening when in a body of weak flesh.

Luk 22:42  Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Luk 22:43  And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

Psa 34:7  The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

The KJV calls the man sharing his prophecy (dream) a “fellow” but that word is much more commonly translated as neighbor or friend.  We are friends of the Lord and true friends of one another when we obey God, which is how we love God and one another (1Jo 5:3, Joh 15:14).  It is our fellow servants that minister as priests of God to each of us in our time of need.  Fellow servants are used to reveal Christ in us and show us how to make war with the enemies of Christ.  We are the army of the Lord that is following the Lord, the Word of God, riding on the white horses and following Christ .

Rev 19:10  And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

His Word fitly spoken by angels, will strengthen us and help us to stand strong.

2Ch 20:15  And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

Eph 6:10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

The details of the neighbor’s dream signify that it is thru the laying down of our life as a living sacrifice that we overcome the Midianites.  Barley is symbolic for the first fruit harvest of the grain crop in Israel and symbolizes the Lord and His Christ who are a type of firstfruits (Jas 1:18, 1 Co 15:20).  Christ is this Bread which is the Word of God.

Joh 6:50  This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

Joh 6:51  I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

This  Bread of Life coming into a tent or dwelling place is going to turn everything upside down and great shall be the fall of that former house.  The dream is one and this same bread is also known as rain that comes upon the old carnal man’s dwelling.

Luk 6:49  But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

The symbolism is multi-faceted as the Word is also likened to an ax that is worked by a deliverer who is also ax men or hewers of wood the very meaning of Gideon’s name.  Gideon’s sword, which is his ax, is used to chop down the wood that is the tree and carnal-mindedness (Midianite mindset) of all mankind.

Mat 3:10  And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

The enemies of the Lord, which are carnal thoughts and minds the world over, will all be converted in due time, beginning in the hearts and minds of the elect who are being judged now by this same Word, rain and ax!

Rom 12:20  Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Psa 66:3  Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee

Gideon hears the dream, the Spirit of prophecy, from his brethren and through this experience, he grows in faith and obeys the Lord in leading Israel into battle.

Jdg 7:15  And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the LORD hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian.

Gideon like all of us are learning to walk by faith and not by what he sees and processes with a carnal mind through physical senses.  The brethren play an essential role in developing one another and building confidence in the Word and His precious promises.  It is why we are to break Bread often in communion with one another.

1Co 11:24  And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

1Co 11:25  After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

1Co 11:26  For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.

We end the study with a reminder of who we are battling as God’s people and how we are to be prepared to fight and stand on faith wearing all the armor.

Eph 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Eph 6:13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

As we are able to live more and more each day Lord willing, we will progress further in cleansing the land of the Midianite nation and judging righteously.

Micah Part 7 – The Secret Place of the Lord

By Pete Wilson

The study of Micah has once again shown us the value and hidden wisdom of digging deep into the symbols and meanings of names and places.  It is a wonderful reminder and an awestruck revelation to know that all these words were written exclusively for the admonition of the Elect, upon whom the ends of our carnal age have come now.

1Co 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

The promises given to Abraham and all physical Israel in type and shadow are the spiritual promises given to the true Jews, the Elect which is also the Body of Christ. The promise of salvation and the inheritance of the land is all about Christ ruling the cities and nations within us.  A prophet of the Lord like Micah comes and speaks to us in all these cities we are studying and if we have been prepared of the Lord to receive a new truth, we are given to hear and OBEY and that is how we mature with time.

Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

We will first study our tenth city, the city of Mareshah.  Our victory in Christ is completed as we overcome these ten enemy nations within us that represent the power of the flesh and the carnal mind.

Gen 15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

Gen 15:19 The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,

Gen 15:20 And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,

Gen 15:21 And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.

Ham, Noah’s son  was the father of Canaan who in turn was the father of many (spiritual) nations and these last three cities listed in the land of promise given to Abraham all tie back to Canaan.

1Ch 1:13 And Canaan begat Zidon his firstborn, and Heth,

1Ch 1:14 The Jebusite also, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,

These Canaanites nations, especially the Jebusites are most difficult to overcome and relate to the strength of the flesh. The flesh will however serve Christ and bow down by this very process we endure.

Gen 9:25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

These Canaanites nations, especially the Jebusites are most difficult to overcome and relate to the strength of the flesh.  Living flesh always has a beast that “yet is” and such are the Jebusites within us.  The Elect (Judah and Benjamin) will always face struggles/trials in overcoming these spirits so long as we are still in these clay vessels.  Here is why we should always take heed, examining ourselves and stay connected to the Body who are there to watch over us.

Jos 15:63 As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.

Jdg 1:21 And the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites that inhabited Jerusalem; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem unto this day.

Many interesting connections exist between the Jebusites and Jerusalem.  Jerusalem was also known as Jebus because of the Jebushites that dwell there.

Jdg 19:10 But the man would not tarry that night, but he rose up and departed, and came over against Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there were with him two asses saddled, his concubine also was with him.

The root of Jebusites links them [H947] to the polluting of ourselves (Eze 16 harlot sisters) and trampling underfoot the truth by wicked pastors (Jer 12:10).  We must take heed to the Jebusite spirits and have no confidence in the flesh while we occupy clay vessels created in sin.  We must never forget the ongoing need for diligence and vigilance to keep going straight and not veering to the right nor to the left.

Pro 4:25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

Pro 4:26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

Pro 4:27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

The only way to avoid evil is to walk straight, following the Lord and His Doctrines.

Luk 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

And we always seem to be learning, FEW are given to do it, many fall away having walked with the Lord for a season.  We can only do this by abiding IN THE BODY and submitting to its governance as the Scriptures declare.  Any other way will lead us astray.

Eze 1:9 Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.

Eze 1:12 And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.

We have just witnessed some breaking ranks with us by no longer joining their wings with the Body and turning off the straight path of eternal life.  With this humble reminder, let us move on towards maturity and review our final two cities mentioned in this one verse.

Mic 1:15 Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah: he shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel.

10. Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah:

Mareshah is where we begin to stop having confidence in the flesh.  This is where we make the transition in our heavens and the ruling dominion of flesh vs spirit switches.  The victories come little by little, city by city lest we get puffed up and the deep seated beastly nature (PRIDE) increases upon us.

Deu 7:22 And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.

Jesus Christ is the first and the last.  Christ in us and thru us is the alpha (beginning) and the omega (the end) and all points in between.  A minister of grace commissioned in Moreshethgath is followed by us then being snared in the lies of Achzib.  All part of His plan to teach us good and evil and conform us to His image through many tribulation experiences.  I particularly liked the God’s Word translation of Micah 1:15 because it brings home an important point.

Mic 1:15 God’s Word – I will again bring a conqueror against the inhabitants of Mareshah. The glory of Israel will come to Adullam.

The fleshly mindset that we are overcoming of our strength is destroyed at Mareshah.  We learn that this overcomer within us is responsible for the victories and it is through His Spirit and not our own might or strength (Zec 4:6).

1Jn 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Rev 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

When we are in Mareshah we have come far and our training for our roles as Kings and Priests, judging and ruling the world (threshing) ratchets up as we mature.  If we are truly Christ’s, then we are the true heirs to the promise given to Abraham.  The righteousness of faith is how we become heir of the earth which earth we are.  Killing our spirit of self-righteousness is indeed only done by the destruction of the Canaanite nations within us that so much want to share in God’s glory by delivering ourselves.

Rom 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

We learn to wait and be patient on this long journey and must finish the race. The city of Mareshah, like Gath, Lachish, Addulam and even Hebron are of the 15 cities (3 process of judgment x 5 chastening grace thru faith), the King of Judah (you and me), build for the defense of the Holy City.  We saw this last week but is worth being reminded. Experiencing all these cities is how we are matured in the Lord’s timing.  Living by every word includes these words!

2Ch 11:5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.

2Ch 11:6 He built even Bethlehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,

2Ch 11:7 And Bethzur, and Shoco, and Adullam,

2Ch 11:8 And Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,

2Ch 11:9 And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,

2Ch 11:10 And Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, which are in Judah and in Benjamin fenced cities.

2Ch 11:11 And he fortified the strong holds, and put captains in them, and store of victual, and of oil and wine.

But the problem with Rehoboam was the same problem his father King Solomon had and you and me have on our way to becoming mature.  Getting all the gifts of the Lord and receiving great spiritual knowledge is not enough to satisfy our carnal lusts.  We want more as the beast within has an insatiable appetite for gain including knowledge, reputation, a following and certainly wants some of the glory. With this spirit of discontentment, we are unfaithful to our One Husband Christ.  In our immaturity, we lust after and seek after more spiritual wives and this is how we continue to play the harlot well after we have been abiding in the Truth.  We are not faithful to our Husband Christ nor our true wife which is the Body of Christ.  We do well for a time and a season even being given many victories; but that inward pride reveals itself and our harlotry will come out in our day of the Lord.

2Ch 11:23 And he (Rehoboam and in type all the kings of Judah) dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fenced city: and he gave them victual in abundance. And he (you and me) desired many wives.

The city of Mareshah represents the completion of our fleshly dominance, our headship and the moving on to the more mature way of walking.  We learn to wage spiritual warfare and try the spirits, knowing how easy it is for our deceitful hearts to be led astray.   Mareshah comes from H4762 “Marashah” and will be linked to the headship and the principalities in our heavens.

Formed like H4761; summit; Mareshah, the name of two Israelites and of a place in Palestine: – Mareshah.

The root word for Mareshah is H4761

principalities, 1 Jer_13:18

Jer 13:18 Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities [H4761] shall come down, even the crown of your glory.

And right here we see the link of Mareshah to the principalities that are in our heavens that keep us prideful and puffed up which will need to brought low.

Isa 2:12 For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

The story here in Jeremiah 13 is the Lord showing these sins and our marred condition outside of Him.  The very people He drags into Jerusalem become drunk as they seek after knowledge and gain instead of doing the Word.

Jer 13:13 Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David’s throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.

But our deep seated carnal rebellion driven by the principalities in our heavens will not hear and will remain proud and our light will be turned into darkness.

Jer 13:15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.

Jer 13:16 Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.

And this is how heresies the Lord brings to the Body are used to winnow down the flock and only leave the remnant that will again be subject to more burning and chastening.

Jer 13:17 But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD’S flock is carried away captive.

These lying spirits must be spoiled and overcome within us.  This is accomplished by being vigilant about our doctrine and guarding our gates.  We must put on the whole armor of God daily knowing the war of thoughts we battle in the pulls of the flesh vs the Spirit.

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Mareshah means summit as can be confirmed by looking at the underlying root of Principalities [H4761] which is head, or top [H7218] in the vast majority of its use.

Isa 30:17 One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top [H7218] of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill.

Exo 17:9 And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top [H7218] of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.

Mareshah is where we are given to overcome the principalities of pride and self-righteousness so we can then stay joined to the Body and go straight without wavering.  Few make it and the rest are led astray by false prophets that come to us looking like members of the Body of Christ.

Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Here are the eight places Mareshah is referenced in Scripture.  These are not history lessons but are rather words you and I shall live by everyone (Mat 4:4, Luk 4:4).

mareshah, 8

Jos_15:44, 1Ch_2:42, 1Ch_4:21, 2Ch_14:8-10 (3), 2Ch_20:37, Mic_1:15

The people of Mareshah are the sons of Caleb.  Caleb was the great grandson of Judah born of Tamar’s son Hezron and known as Chelubai (1 Ch 2:18-19).

1Ch 2:42 Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel were, Mesha his firstborn, which was the father of Ziph; and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.

The sons and house of Caleb has many witnesses to actions outside of faith (sin).  Mesha the first born of Caleb, became the king of Moab who helped Israel build a temple made by hands of men.  Likewise, Nabal, an evil man, who did not submit to Christ in David was also said to be of the house of Caleb (1 Sam 25:3).

The Strong’s definition of Caleb has a most revealing insight into the spirit of Caleb.

 H3611, keleb’ keh’-leb

From an unused root meaning to yelp, or else to attack; a dog

A dog is someone outside the covenant of faith.  A dog has confidence in the flesh and by extension linked to some other bad things.

Rev 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

The Lord’s people are to beware of dogs in our midst who have confidence in the flesh of men.

Php 3:2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.

Php 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Hebron is the offspring of the sons of Mareshah. The root of Hebron is the same word translated as charmers and enchanters H2267.

Psa_58:5

The Lord’s people are to stay far away from such “charming” activities and not be talking with either the physically dead and spiritually dead.

Deu 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,

Deu 18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

This spirit of Caleb is indeed a DOG Spirit that leads us into rebellion to the house of the Lord.  It puts us in alliance with the Canaanites within, joining us together to peddle the things of the Lord for ungodly gain.  Jehoshaphat, King of Judah (you and me) did just that.

2Ch 20:35 And after this did Jehoshaphat king of Judah join himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly:

2Ch 20:36 And he joined [H2266, root of 2267 – charmed] himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish: and they made the ships in Eziongeber.

It is in Mareshah that we are delivered and rebuke this merchandising spirit and learn to be content with where the Lord has us.

2Ch 20:37 Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.

The last story we will look at to confirm the process of maturing thru Mareshah is the story of King Asa of Judah who battled the Ethiopians.  Like an Ethiopian and even a leopard we can’t change anything of ourselves.  We are helpless and at the mercy of the Lord for our salvation and anything in our life.  This battle against the Ethiopians within also takes place “in a valley”, one called Zephathah.  In Mareshah a conversion of our headship is made and we have a great victory in this valley.

2Ch 14:2 And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God:

2Ch 14:4 And commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.

2Ch 14:9 And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.

2Ch 14:10 Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.

2Ch 14:11 And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.

2Ch 14:12 So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.

Mareshah is where we find the valley of Zephathah.  An important valley we must learn to walk thru on the way to maturity.  Doing spiritual warfare and being obedient watchmen is essential for us to become the mature man in Christ.

Eze 3:17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman [H6822] unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

We saw in Steve’s recent study on Proverbs 31, the role the Body as a whole and us as members play as faithful watchmen over the flock.

Pro 31:27 She looketh well [H6822] to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

So we can begin to see Mareshah is directly associated with maturing us into able warriors of spiritual warfare.  It takes time for us to be trained up as warriors starting in our own walk but also becoming a helper of other’s joy in the Lord. Agape love is our obedience.

We have been talking about valleys.  What is a valley?  It is generally defined as a low area of land surrounded by hills or mountains typically a river or water running through it.  Valleys are most commonly formed through the erosion of land by rivers or glaciers.  Some very interesting Romans 1:20 applications here.  Spiritual valleys are where we are shaped and formed by the living waters that flow out of the mouths of God’s Elect here in the Body of Christ.

Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

That is what shapes the earth and erodes the high points and ultimately matures us.  The valley of Jehoshaphat and the valley of Zephathah are the valleys of decisions and where the heathen nations within us (the earth) is judged and where we learn righteousness.

Joe 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision [Gold or Diligence]: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

It is the Kings and Priests of the Lord who are our lake of fire in this age, who speak the Word that roars out of the Holy City.  This shakes our heavens and earth and is the method by which all things are made new.

Joe 3:16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

This tenth city in this journey, Mareshah represents the completion of our flesh and maturing in our ability to wage war and the watchmen over the flock of the Lord.  This comes in an “is, was and will be” process of winnowing and the remainder repeating the process.  We move on from here to receive our inheritance a much more mature man and useful to the Lord in many ways.

11. He shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel.

We addressed Adullam in Part 3 to show where this journey was going to end up.  This is the last of these 11 cities and the one from where our inheritance comes.

Mic 1:15 Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah: he shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel.

As we saw in Part 3, Adullam is best known for being a cave of safety, a place of refuge for Christ and His people.  This is the Body of Christ in type and shadow and where the glory of the Lord is found in His cloud of witnesses.  David hid himself in this cave from both Achish King of Gath (think beast) but also from Saul (old man) who was persecuting him.  This too is where we find refuge from a world waxing worse and worse.  It is in this secret cave where the army of the Lord is assembled from what the world thinks is foolishness.

1Sa 22:1 David therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his brethren and all his father’s house heard it, they went down thither to him.

1Sa 22:2 And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.

This is who the Lord chooses as His warriors.  The pride of life and all these Philistine and Canaanite spirits must be burned out of us before the glory of the Lord truly shines forth in our walk.  The story of Adullam and the assembling of the army of David reminds me of who the Lord assembles in His army choosing ones the world esteems not (Isa 53:3).

1Co 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

1Co 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

Our coming to Adullam is us finding our true spiritual home and place of refuge to endure our lives where we have been appointed to suffer and bear afflictions.   Only the few chosen that are faithful will find this cave and thrive in it.

Psa 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Psa 91:2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Psa 91:3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

Psa 91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

A cave is a dark place to the world and is often associated with death and burial in the Scriptures. It is thru darkness and death (to the old man and carnal mind) that new life comes forth.  Jacob and his fathers were buried in a cave (Gen 49:29) and like Lazarus we are resurrected in new life when our old man is found dead in cave.

Joh 11:38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave (of Lazarus). It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

Like all words of Scripture there is both a light and dark side (Exo 14:20) of the Word, a two edged sword (Heb 4:12).  The prophets of the Lord are fed by other prophets in a cave and that cave represents the Body of Christ.

1Ki 18:4 For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.

The Lord is assembling His true people in this and each generation who will be and are His instruments of salvation and judgment.  This journey has winnowed down the remnant and few are left walking the straight and narrow road.  It is from this inheritance given at Addulam that we go out in strength and make war and the noise in the hearts and minds of those given salvation.

Mic 2:12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of men.

Isa 55:12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Adullam is said to be the glory of Israel and is the last city mentioned on this progressive journey.  It represents our reaching maturity such that the light of Jesus Christ is seen in us by our DOING THE WORD and being a servant. The disintegration of the fleshly perfection we achieve in our self-righteousness is the outcome of the entire 11 city journey.  This transfiguration is complete when we love the Lord and His Christ with all our heart, mind and strength.

1Jn 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

Isa 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

We grow in our ability to minister grace as we mature.  We are now a more able Ambassador, having been sent (Rom 10:15) and having been proved in the fire of tribulations and engaging in daily warfare in our heavens.   The glory of the Lord appears in us and on us and we are now a light unto the world.

Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house (The Body)

Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

We are now coming to see the Lord’s plans and purposes in greater detail.  We have been prepared for the walk of a disciple and now thru that walk will be brought onto completion and prepared of the Lord for every good work.  At Adullam we are past the point of boasting knowing how we got to this point and why the Lord has brought us here and given us an inheritance.

Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

We still have a journey; the race is not over. Yet we have been matured, we have been prepared for the ongoing process of refinement, the winnowing that never ends while we live in clay vessels.   But now we have the maturity and knowledge to endure this with patience.   We now know what to expect (Amo 3:7) and are laying down our life to the Lord more each day.

Next week Lord willing, we will complete Chapter 1 and have a quick recap of the eleven cities and the lessons we learn and things we overcome on our way to maturity.

The Heavenly City of Truth

los angeles 2

Los Angeles means the “city of angels”. I have always had a great attraction to LA not knowing at that time what angels and the city of angels is actually referring to in the word of God. Now I know why I always loved “LA” as in the spirit there is a real city of angels. I have been blessed beyond explanation to be brought into the gates of this spiritual city.  This spiritual city is full of lights and is very bright spiritually yet appears as darkness to the carnal mind.

Exo 14:20  And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

Psa 139:12  Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

The gathering of the saints happens in this spiritual city.  Only those dragged to the Lord and appointed to be in the city will be there, all who enter must have the covering of the Lord Jesus Christ and be written in the Book of Life. Walking in the light of this city is in fact what saves us.

Rev 21:24  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

Rev 21:25  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

Rev 21:26  And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

Rev 21:27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

I am going to speak about this city and hopefully show what this city represents and who is in this city now and who will be in this city in the future.  These are extremely important points and the biggest blessing one can attain to is to be in this city of angels here and now in this life in these bodies of clay.  God’s Elect dwell together in unity in a spiritual placed called Mt Zion.   This is a city with several names and is the Jerusalem above.

Zec 8:3 Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.

The symbolism in Scripture hides these wonderful truths from carnal eyes and ears.  But the Lord reveals these truths and gives His Chosen ones the ability to hear and understand the heavenly language that is spoken in the city of angels, the city of our Lord.  This is the real LA,  sorry Los Angeles, but the city of angels speaks to God’s Elect and our fellowship in the Body of Christ. It is a blessing given to so very few.  How few continues to amaze me yet the Scriptures tell us this in stunning clarity if only we could believe them.

Mat 13:16  But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

Mat 13:17  For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Make no mistake, as amazing as this city is,  we all had to be dragged there and all have no appreciation for the blessing that had been poured upon us until we lived in this city for quite some time.  I have been so blessed and grown tremendously in just a few years and now have great hope for what lies ahead despite the wickedness and evil that is running rampant in our physical world.

Ultimately all men and all eyes shall be in the city of the Lord where the great King rules.  I hope these Scriptures help make alive the message of hope and peace that only comes when we are planted firmly in this city of truth, the real LA in the Spirit.

Psa 48:2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

Isa 33:20 Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.

Isa 52:1 Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

That city Jerusalem in the modern nation of Israel has nothing to do with the city I speak of and the one spoken of in the Scriptures of being the heavenly city, where the angels of God dwell.

There is no free will involved in entering into ZION.  It is all the work of God.  Like I said, we must be dragged against the will of our flesh and carnal mind.

Jer 3:14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

Mic 4:10 Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.

Reading Jeremiah 29 and Ezra for example we see clearly who puts us into Babylon and then who causes us to come out of Babylon and into this city but only in the appointed times.

Jer 29:14  And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

Ezr 1:5  Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem.

All men will one day see this city and will enter into it.  But for now, it is only for God’s Very Elect who in fact make up and are this city.  This city is also the bride of Christ, it has many roles and function and is represented by numerous symbols which I will defer to a later post Lord willing.  John’s vision in Revelation speaks of seeing this city come down out of heaven and remember, heaven is within you, it is not some planet in outer space, the kingdom of God, including heaven is WITHIN YOU (Luke 17:20-21).

Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

The scarcity of how few are chosen continues to amaze me.  We can only come to appreciate the blessing that has fallen upon us, without any merit on our part, and it must be given to us to live in this city in this age while yet in a vessel of clay.  This truth will be nonsense to us all until we have walked in the fire and the light of Mt. Zion for some time.  The heavenly city of spiritual Jerusalem is a type and shadow for the true church which is the Body of Christ.  Like our Lord, we are sent to represent Him and be the light unto this dark world.

Mat 5:14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Heb 12:22  But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

Heb 12:23  To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

This is the church, the called out ones that are of one mind by the same Spirit of truth that lives in us all.

The meaning of the word ANGELS

The words translated as angels in our bibles also mean messengers. A simple word search in esword will quickly confirm this fact. For example the Hebrew work MALAK occurs 212 times and is translated “angel” and “messenger” almost interchangeably as the KJC reflects.  I hope you are given the zeal to search out the truth in the Scriptures.  To properly divide them, it takes much research and more importantly God given ears to hear.

Pro 25:2  It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Assuming you are a king of the Lord and one of His Elect, let’s see what the word angel really means.

An amazing amount of deception exists in Babylon, simply from their failure to see God’s angels for what they really are. Can’t go into those details here but I will tell you, it is the brethren, it is the very Elect of God who will camp around us when we are in this spiritual city and fear the Lord. We are delivered, which means salvation when we abide in this heavenly city. God’s Elect are the real guardian angels contrary to what we are taught in Babylon.

Psa 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

While the Lord does have spirit being angels like Gabriel, in the vast majority of places where angels is referenced it is really speaking about God’s Very Elect, His Angels and His Messengers. It is thru HIS BODY that the Lord works.

This truth is hidden from carnal eyes and helps to hide the truth of God’s word and cloak the fact that God’s Elect are the angels, the ministers of fire that speak His word and do the works as Jesus Christ the Body.

Heb 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

Jer 5:14 Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

Of course we have to also know that fire is not literal fire and wood is not wood and embrace the Bible in spirit and learn comparing spiritual to spiritual just as we are told.

1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

The carnal mind cannot do this, it always falls in the trap of comparing physical with spiritual and misses the main point and perverts the way of truth and creates false doctrines as a result.

The angel of the Lord is Christ.  Yet Christ works through His Body and  upon which HE is the head.

Joh 20:21  Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

Jesus Christ considers His Body as Himself, it is through us that He works.

Act 9:4  And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

Act 9:5  And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it ishard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Please don’t accuse me of claiming I am the head Jesus Christ but do not mock my boldness to say I am the Lord’s, I am a part of His Body.  Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!

Psa 107:2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so

The messengers of God are His angels and they speak THE WORD that brings fire and judgment upon our sins and carnal nature, when we are given ears to hear. It is God’s Elect who bring the seven last plagues to man which destroys the old man and brings light out of the darkness.

Rev 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Rev 15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
Rev 15:6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.
Rev 15:7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

In type and shadow, we appear to those the Lord sends us and we speak the words of fire to ears that now hear and hearts that have been prepared to receive the word that is Christ.  This process devours spiritually the lies of Babylon and the wisdom of Egypt.

Exo 3:2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

As Christ comes, so do His angels to set the prisoners free.

Act 5:19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,

Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

The Lord has a heavenly city in which He dwells. He has been in this city ever since He ascended into the clouds.

Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Act 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Act 1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Act 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

and Christ has been returning into these same clouds that carnal eyes cannot see ever since. Christ lives in His people, who are His temple and that is where He resides and we if we are God’s Elect are seated with Him now.

1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavens in Christ Jesus:

Luk 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
Luk 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Eventually every eye shall see Him in these clouds, but for now only the Elect have been given that blessing. Anyone thinking outwardly, looking in physical clouds is not getting it and are yet carnal thinking of Christ IN THE FLESH.

Luk 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Carnal babes that believe in the rapture again are thinking physically in the natural and know not that the air refers to meeting Christ in the Spirit being one mind. A topic for another post.  Only few there be shall find the way in this age. The blessing of God’s Elect comes to so very few and the multitudes resent and look down upon their brothers who have been given this coat of many colors by the Lord.

Gen 37:3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.
Gen 37:4 And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.

The Elect are the apple of God’s eye. The gathering of the saints is the assembly of the heavenly city and the great cloud of witnesses that make of God’s chosen few.

Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

The scarcity of how few, few really means is not evident to us until we have been walking in the fire for some time.  The heavenly city of spiritual Jerusalem is a type and shadow for the true church which is the Body of Christ.  Like our Lord we are sent to represent Him and be the light unto this dark world.

Mat 5:14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

1Jn 4:17  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Those in this spiritual city are the firstfruits unto salvation who will follow our Lord being born again by the Spirit.

Rom 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

1Co 5:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.

Jas :18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Rev 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

The highway of holiness that FEW are given to find is only entered into on Mt. Zion. Foolish carnal minds will not enter in. The messengers of God will be gathered to Zion and sing spiritual songs of joy and we will be filled with the joy that only comes from know Jesus and His Christ.

Isa 35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

When we are redeemed by living thru God’s judgment now, we will be brought to Zion and will be singing the new song spoken so often about in the Scriptures.

Isa 35:9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
Isa 35:10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

I have been seeing the role of the BODY spoken of in Scripture in many more places. We being Sion/Zion are going to be the saviors that judge the world in righteousness if we make the first resurrection.  That is what we strive to attain to Lord willing.

Rom 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Oba 1:21 And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.

When Christ first comes to all of us, we will stumble over the ROCK. But ultimately that rock will fall upon us and grind us to powder.

Rom 9:33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Mat 21:44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

There is a clear purpose in what the Lord is doing in all of our lives. It is a blessing to begin to understand His ways and purposes having the mind of Christ. When the Lord drags you to Himself, He is going to drag you to HIS CITY OF ANGELS. You will be brought to Christ who lives in the heavenly city today.  You will be brought to Mt. Zion and enter into the Holy City of Jerusalem above.

Oba 1:17  But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.

Joe 2:32  And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

This city of truth is the Body of Christ in each successive generation.  Jesus Christ is come in the flesh and is building His church and placing His saints in the city of angels.  I hope this has blessed a few that have been given to understand these mysteries of the kingdom of God.

ALL MEN WILL BE IN THE CITY IN THE END

The city of the Lord will eventually encompass all men.  The last enemy of Christ to be overcome is death and then all men shall be alive and abiding in the city of truth.  Here is this prophesy even in Jeremiah which precedes the details of the new covenant in Chapter 31.

Jer 31:38  Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.

Jer 31:39  And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath.

Jer 31:40  And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.

This city is His people,  for now the very Elect but ultimately it will encompass all men as all flesh shall see the salvation of the Lord.

Isa 26:1  In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.

Speaking for myself I love this city of righteousness.  I LOVE LA; which in truth and in spirit is Jerusalem Above.

When God Gives A Gift You Know It

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Being saved is to have eternal life.  The kingdom of God and eternal life came 2,000 years ago and a few have been entering in ever since in every generation.  Contrary to the teachings of men, salvation is not being spared the wrath and judgment of God; it is coming to know Him and possessing eternal life in the present tense.  The Kingdom of God was near, at the very door 2,000 years ago and many wicked people have been destroyed by Christ’s appearing,  been converted and have entered in ever since.  Even  spiritual prostitutes who played the harlot like me!!  What a blessing to know the Father and the Christ that He has sent.   Jesus prayed this prayer for all of His disciples including those who would come in the future generations.

John 17:3  And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Eternal life is not living forever with the same immortal soul.  That is just another false doctrine of Babylon.  All men shall die.  But it is also true that all men shall be resurrected to life in the ages to come and it is this resurrection to life that is the blessed hope and good news for all men.  But make no mistake eternal life is knowing Christ here and now.  Is better said to be AIONIAN life, a present tense knowing Christ.  Few there be that shall find this way.

1 John 5:20  And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

This new life called eternal life, which means KNOWING GOD, is truly a gift from God that will ultimately come to all men in the appointed time.  This life is found only in the Son.

All men sin, there is not one that does not,  yet God has delivered on His promises to Abraham and will destroy death and make all men alive in due season.

1 COR 15:22  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ ALL shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order

Since my healing and opening of spiritual ears and eyes,  I have come to know that HE is the LORD and was working all things in my life and the lives of all men.   He came suddenly and saved me despite my wicked deeds only on the basis of His Election of me before the world began.  When this happens to you, you will KNOW HE IS THE LORD!

Ezekiel 20:44  And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I deal with you for my name’s sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt deeds, O house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.

Ezekiel 37:13  And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people.

All men, all families, all nations will come to KNOW THE LORD and be saved in their appointed times.  This is the blessed hope on which this good news gospel stands.  Praise God.

Ezekiel 37:28  And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore

Ultimately in the ages to come,  the Lord will be in the midst of ALL MEN.  WOW.  This will happen WHEN the day of salvation comes.   This is the  appointed time for each of us already written in God’s books before the world began.

Psalm 139:16  Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them

I wrote a post a few months ago about this precious GIFT of faith (click here) which is the only way we come to know God.  This gift of faith, is the also the gift of eternal life (“aionian” life) that will appear to all men in each man’s appointed time.  The order is the Elect, the very few,   followed in the ages to come at the 2nd resurrection of the dead of all men.

In speaking these wonderful “good news” things I have not made many friends in the religious community be it online or otherwise.  I continue to study to show myself approved to be able to rightly divide the WORD of truth and speak confidently of the things the Lord has affirmed in my heart.  I want to always be ready to give an answer to those who inquire on the things of God and especially His love and innate mercies and goodness that never ever will fail.

This post is simply a collection of verses that speak to this amazing and wonderful work of God in imparting faith to His people.  All that will be saved will be saved by faith and that too only from God.  This is how God brings and works eternal life in His people.  May those with ears hear these words.

Eph 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that (THE FAITH) not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

The classic verse is one of the most well known but least understood passages in all of Scripture.  The very gift of God is the faith of Christ.  No man chooses and hence no man can boast that they chose Christ and someone else did not.  Man has absolutely no role in his salvation.  It is all the work of God, a circumcision that is truly without hands.

Phil 1:29-30 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,  having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.

What a wonderful verse that reaffirms Jesus statements on the cost all true disciples WILL PAY.  When God blesses grants to you this gift of faith then our suffering has just begun.  We will fill up in the afflictions of Christ and that is where the glory and honor will be for His chosen disciples.  When God gives you this gift, then you come to truly appreciate the potter and clay Scriptures and know they mean exactly what they say.  God is the one is doing all the “willing”,  man has no part in salvation and most certainly not choosing to be saved.

Romans 9:16-18  So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy. 17 For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.” 18 Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.

This theme is in scores of places, especially if we perused the Prophets,  but it crystal clear in the gospels for anyone with eyes to see.  We will come to know God is working all things in all men in all the earth.  When Jesus began building His church by choosing disciples, He told them this.

Luke 10:22  All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.

There is no room to argue these words.  Nobody comes to know the true God and the living WORD of Christ unless the Son chooses .

John 15:16  You did not choose Me, but I chose you

The inward boasting, glorying and the self righteousness we all cannot help but have in our carnal fleshly minds,  will only be destroyed by the brightness of the appearing to Christ in our hearts.  It is this very gift of faith that gives us the access into the grace of God.

Romans 5:1-2  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Ezra 1:5  Then the heads of the fathers’ houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, with all whose spirits God had moved, arose to go up and build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem

Jesus Christ really does build His Church and man has no part in it whatsoever   All of God’s chosen people; His disciples receive grace based on the measure of faith given to each.   It is the Father’s good pleasure to give good gifts to His children that have inherited the kingdom of God.

Eph 4:7-8   But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. 8 Therefore He says:

“When He ascended on high,
He led captivity captive,
And gave gifts to men.”

There are many teachings that make clear, from the negative, that those who do not have faith and do not have ears to hear or eyes to see don’t have faith because they were purposefully blinded and shut up in spiritual darkness by God.  This is the fate of all men and the way we come into this world.  Salvation and imparting of faith and the gift of eternal life is all in the hands of God and His predetermined plan for all of creation.

Romans 11:7-8 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

Only the elect will come to understand. Only the elect will believe in this true gospel.  We will preach it and those God has predestined to hear it and believe will hear it and will believe.  That is an amazing God, declaring the end from the beginning and orchestrating it exactly as He already has spoken.

John 12:39-40 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, 40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Carnal eyes will see these verses but cannot receive them. Of course those that think they chose to have faith will always believe this speak to the man down the street.  But it really is true that God has shut the whole world up into darkness,  He has sent all strong delusion and He will get all the glory when people do come to the true light.  They will know He is the Lord.

Like all words of Scriptures, the understanding must be given to us by God.

Matthew 13:10-13 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”  11 He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. 12 For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. 13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

Chapter Six of John’s gospel is one of my favorites.  It contains some powerful Scriptures and heavy meat for those weaned off the baby milk of salvation for all men.  In this section, we see that all the Father has chosen will come to Jesus.  Nobody is going to exercise free will and decide not to come to Christ.

John  6:37  All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

John 6:39  And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

Nobody who comes to the real Christ is going to be lost.  In my former ignorance and carnal Christianity days,  I preached aggressively against Once Saved Always Saved.  The whole premise of this argument is flawed from both sides that like to argue it constantly.  But neither side understands what salvation is nor the power of God.   Neither know the truth.  But I will believe Christ who says He will lose none of His chosen disciples, except for Judas so the Scriptures would be fulfilled.  EVERY ONE Christ said.

John 6:40  And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Not only will all the Father chooses come.  No man can come unless they are literally dragged, kicking and screaming spiritually speaking by the Father.  The Greek word translated draw in this verse and others, is actually drag and is used in many verses speaking of fishing nets and catching fish.  Something to think about!

John 6:44  No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me drags him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Wise men in the flesh, will be boasting in their free will decisions and self righteously promoting themselves and their carnal knowledge of Scriptures.  I did the exact same thing.  But the real learning only comes from the Father after He drags you to Christ.

John 6:45  It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

Every man that has ears to hear,  “hath heard”  learned from the Father and came to Jesus.  This is the same lesson Jesus explained to Peter on who revealed He was the Christ.

Matthew 16:17  Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven

I long for a world when all people will know the Christ and have this revealing unto them.  That day is coming and is promised for all.  We just must wait on the Lord.   Hallelujah.  The restitution of all things!

All the verses we see that infer man has a choice are being taken out of context by those without ears to hear the truth.   The Scriptures are written for God’s chosen few, the Elect.  They are not written for the people of this world, which certainly includes the multitudes of called but not chosen professing Christians.  When we are told to choose today whom we shall serve, we are choosing AFTER faith and salvation has come.  This is AFTER our day of election has come and we enter into the House of God by faith.  We will then know Christ in the Spirit where we once knew Him only after the flesh.  That is where the orthodox followers of Christ are to this very day.

Despite my numerous mistakes and errors of late,  I am thankful for the forgiveness of sin for the children of covenant.  I will press on with my new found brothers and sisters in Christ for the upward calling of God which is a crown of righteousness.  I pray I will be found worthy and be in this blessed and holy first resurrection.  Those so chosen of God must remain faithful to the end and not disqualify themselves from receiving their crown of righteousness.

1 COR 9:27  But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

No this verse does not speak to losing ones salvation, it speaks of not remaining faithful to the calling and election placed on the chosen few.  I am learning not to be like Peter and cut the ears off of those who seem to keep coming, bringing confrontation.  Jesus will heal those ears.  In my youth, I have done just that but was reminded the other day of these words of the Lord to His chosen disciples.

Matthew 10:16  Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

Learning to be peaceful and humble through all of this is a learning curve.  I do apologize to any that I hurt in my non dove response in defense of this awesome God I now serve.  Those who do not hear, cannot hear and this is how and why we must show them the same mercy we ourselves have been shown by our Father in heaven.

Luke 10:16  He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me

No sense talking once it is clear someone cannot hear.  Those who reject are not rejecting me, they are really rejecting Christ and God will deal with them in their appointed time.  Tis why we need to move on when these words of love and good news are not received.   God is faithful even when we are not.  What He has vowed, He will do.

Jonah 2:9  But I will sacrifice to You
With the voice of thanksgiving;
I will pay what I have vowed.
Salvation is of the Lord

May the  peace and the love of Christ fill your hearts.
