What is Salvation?

Rom 11:26  And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Rom 11:27  For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

Definition:  Salvation ultimately means to be saved from death.  This applies to both physical death and spiritual death.  The wages of sin is death and so salvation involves the purging of all sin as we will examine briefly below.  The way death is averted is by the removal of our sins.  They are taken away, removed from our lives as Romans 11:27 speaks.  Salvation is gaining dominion over our sins, overcoming sin and conquering it.

Rom 8:37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

To be carnally minded IS DEATH and until and unless the Lord appears within us and begins to work righteousness in us we are dead in our sins.

Rom 8:6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Those with a carnal mind cannot help but sin, everything they think is at enmity with the truth and ways of the Lord.

Rom 8:7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Seven times Christ speaks to the church and gives the promises to those who overcome in this life.  Overcoming sin is salvation and it is an IS, WAS and WILL BE process that will not be complete until we are given our new bodies and these vessels of sinful flesh are done away with.

Rev 2:7  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

What Salvation IS NOT:  Contrary to the teachings of all the orthodox churches of men, salvation in no way shape or form involves the person being saved avoiding the wrath and judgement of God.  These apostate churches have it 100% wrong.

God is not limited by physical death to save anyone.  Any such God that is limited, is another jesus and a false god.  The Scriptures declare the promise of the salvation of all and how HE is going to do it.

Being saved in this life pertains to being freed from sin (spiritual death) to the point where sin shall not have dominion over us. This of course is achieved in this life only in down payment form; as all of us must wait until the resurrection to attain to the fullness of salvation.  So being saved in this life in these marred vessels of clay looks like this.

Rom 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Rom 6:8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Rom 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

Rom 8:23And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan

Believing that all men shall be raised from the dead and given new life is the basic promise of the Good News. Anyone not believing this is most miserable.

1Co 15:16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
1Co 15:17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
1Co 15:18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
1Co 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

Salvation is true and the Lord is faithful.  The Potter is going to remake all men from a marred vessel of clay into the very image of Christ.

Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Jer 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

The be carnally minded is spiritual death and we are not saved from this until we are given the gift of faith and the ears to hear and eyes to see the truth of God’s word.  Then the word will do its work in bringing judgment upon us.

Joh 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

Isa 55:10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

The wages of sin is death yet the gift of God is eternal life or SALVATION.  Being saved in this age means being freed from spiritual death that the carnal mind produces and coming to know God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Rom 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We are saved by being delivered from our sins (i.e. we stop doing them) and being forgiven all our trespasses

Joe 2:32  And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

Eze 36:24  For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

Eze 36:25  Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

Eze 36:26  A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Eze 36:27  And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Salvation is accomplished by the process of judgment that destroys the old man so the new man, Christ in us, can come forth within. The traditions of men of claiming salvation by making an altar call, saying a prayer, or attending a church are all inventions of carnally minded men and are another gospel.  All men will be saved but it comes at the end and only in the appointed times for each of us.

Mat 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour (Christ returns the second time) knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Salvation is only thru and by the Lord Jesus Christ.  Man has absolutely no role in salvation, it is all the work of the Lord

Rom 11:36  For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Jon 2:9   Salvation is of the LORD.

The false doctrines of Babylon, most notably eternal torment and the rapture, have twisted the very definition of salvation such that most people believe salvation means being spared the wrath of God.  God’s ways are not man’s ways and in a twist of irony, salvation is actually accomplished by experiencing or living through the wrath of God against our carnal mind and sinful lusts.  That is how we learn righteousness and what the true grace of God is. chaste

Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Tit 2:11  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Tit 2:12  Teaching (Chastening) us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Rev 15:8  And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

Salvation is promised to all men and only awaits the Lord’s appointed times.

1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.

1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

1Co 15:25For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

The promise given to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was the salvation of all men.  God is faithful to His covenants and will bring it to pass.  Believe it.

Gen 28:14  And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

2Ti 2:13  If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

  1. This teaching and the compilation Ronel put together from other teachers/sources (under the faq list query regarding ‘eternal judgement’) have lifted my spirit and reinforced my newish (19 month old) faith in the surpreme and sovereign goodness of God. Hallelujah, I am so grateful! What a joy to seek to learn even a tiny fragment of the heart of our Father through the Word, Son & Spirit He sent for revelation of the Goodnews in the brief ‘morning fog ‘ of earthly life! The dogma of eternal torture as a just/righteous consequence for finite (earth lifespan) depravity caused me to doubt–even fully DENY the goodness of God. My regret is that I doubted God’s goodness instead of the accuracy of the dogma. The teachings on this site fill me with confident hope in God’s incomprehensible goodness, and it is to the credit of the resolute reliance on scripture for the bulk of lessons (vs. any (even ‘credentialed’) individual’s interpretation and/or commentary). So many false teachings cause the Good News to seem not just foolish, but far, far worse than mere foolishness–even malicious and evil. It seems the work of the deceiver, but faith that God’s perfect will and plan IS working as He ordains. Not just despite the seeming wholesale global deceptions, but somehow includes them. It’s such a great mystery! My gratitude is to God that i ‘chanced’ across these lessons, and also to Ronel & Pete for the work and effort put forth–laboring (as Paul often said) ‘for the praise of the glory of God.’

  2. Amen Will. The formula for salvation is what you have posted. Those actions are both given to men from the Lord. The faith of Christ is a gift from God and the confession from our mouth is also part of the Lord’s work in us.

Isa 57:19  I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.

Eph 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Eph 1:12  That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

  3. This is how to become saved.

    Romans 10:9,10:

9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

  4. How can all be saved? are you teaching Universalism? Or do you mean ALL ISRAEL [those who are/will be called the elect?] The link on your further info above is no longer available. Please give scriptures? I believe Ezk 5 explains only a remnant [one-third] remains who came out of Babylon. Thank you.

PETE ANSWER: Ashley, We are well past arguing doctrine with those the Lord has blinded to the truth. The most basic point of the Gospel is the salvation of all men. This happens all in the Lord’s timing.

1Co 15:21  For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
1Co 15:22  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Co 15:23  But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.

To believe in the salvation of a few requires one to also believe in free will to choose God and avoid eternal hell. Both giant logs in the spiritual eyes of those who believe them and a completely different Gospel. Satan, which God created for His purposes is not more powerful than He. God Almighty gets done what He wants when He wants it and it depends not on the will of any man.

His will is always getting done as He is working all things and will not be thwarted by the will of any man, the devil or any other factor.

2Sa 14:14  For we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect any person: yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.

Eph 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Psa 90:3  Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

Isa 45:7  I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

I would suggest you read some of the articles on this site and others and know the Lord will open eyes to the truth when His appointed time comes.

Pro 20:12  The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.

Christ speaks in parables in the Scriptures so that only He can give one the understanding and spiritual eyes and ears to know Him.

Mat 13:10  And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
Mat 13:11  He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given
Mat 13:12  For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
Mat 13:13  Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Mat 13:14  And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

We will continue to be bold and preach the truth that all men shall be saved just as the Scriptures declare. We do this despite the reproach we get from 99.999999% of all others who call themselves Christians but have another gospel and know another jesus.

1Ti 4:10  For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe {now, the Elect in this age}.
1Ti 4:11  These things command and teach.
