Beware of Dogs Within

“The Dogs within”

study notes by the elders compiled into one study for Women

We have seen in the past that we, as women, are the weaker vessels in the same way the Church is the weaker vessel to her Husband, Christ. We do not have the fullness of the Spirit as Christ had but only in down payment, an earnest deposit [2 Cor 1:22]. Therefore it is expedient for us to beware of the dogs within, the spirit that deceives us and lead us astray from the faith! This study is primarily focusing on the spiritual reality as it is for us today, those reading and keeping the sayings of this Book [Rev 1:3].

So, spiritually speaking, what is a dog or what is this spirit that is so deceitful and so powerful in leading us astray? We know one thing for sure and that is that dogs always return to their vomit. Dogs return to their vomit which is poisons and toxins rejected by the body and is not the law of Christ.

2Pe 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Dogs are outside the holy city that is spiritual Jerusalem, which is the same as new Jerusalem. Dogs are associated with many forbidden things as this verse shows. Think within as this study is primarily looking at the inward application of dogs.

Rev 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Those of the circumcision

Paul warns the new converts regarding those who were and are being circumcised [have faith] but that faith is not proven yet! It is us, at the beginning of our walk, refusing to leave the milk behind to go unto perfection and we are still under the law. This carnal law for the carnal nations within [Heb 7:16] influences us, as the Philippians, to abandon their faith and walk contrary to faith. The Lord shows us through history, the spiritual lessons to be learned.

Philippians 3:2-3 Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision; for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh.

Here are a few more verses concerning dogs:

Psa 22:16  For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

Who seeked to kill Christ? Who seeks to kill the man child within? Here it is:

Mar 3:6  And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

Joh 11:47  Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles ….

Joh 11:53  Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.

We know that the Pharisees were known for their hypocrisy and so is the Pharisee within us full of the leaven of hypocrisy having a form of godliness but denying Christ.

Mat 23:28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Mar 12:15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.

Luk 12:1 In the meantime, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

1Ti4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Jas 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Dogs have not ears to hear and eyes to see Christ, the Renewed Covenant [Rev 3:22, Matt 13:9]. Blind watchmen and shepherds within us and without also!

Isa 56:10  His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.

Isa 56:11  Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

Isa 6:12  Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.

Christs points to the Pharisees as those being blind, with no eyes to see or ears to hear.

Mat 15:10  And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:

Mat 15:11  Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Mat 15:12  Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

Mat 15:13  But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.

Mat 15:14  Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Whoever or whatever does not have ears to hear and eyes to see, is not the Israel of God. The whole world within and without ourselves do not have ears and eyes. There is always something in us to be burned out, wood, hay and stubble that we are blinded to at the appointed times!

Rom 11:7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded

Rom 11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

Rom 11:9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:

Rom 11:10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back always.

We are not to cast our pearls of truth before swine or give what is holy to the dogs.

Mat 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Mat 15:26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.

Christ never once in Scriptures went by night to seek out a Pharisee or Sadducee to try to convert that man. Nicodemus came to Christ by night to inquire of the Truth, and other Pharisees came to tempt Him, but He never once tried to deal with them unless they came tempting him. In every case, Christ never denied His and our Father, and He shut their mouths with the wisdom of His Words. He is still doing the same thing in us. Christ gives us the words and the wisdom we need at the hour we need it when we are resting in Him. We do not try and convert the enemy within, it leads to nothing!

Those in Covenant with Christ, has a table being prepared for them.

Heb 13:10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.

Being a proud Pharisee, having the righteousness of the carnal law is the Canaanite spirit at work that is deeply ingrained in our fleshly DNA. Canaan begot the Jebusites who are with us to this day [Jos 15:63]. We have to be on guard against those self-righteous and prideful thoughts that can cut us off and separate us from Christ. We are so blessed to be the recipients of God’s mercy in this age. That is the honor of being judged first and going through the trials and suffering that manifest the Glory of Christ within us.

1Pe 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts (i.e. pride), which war against the soul

Circumcision of Christ and the false circumcision

The concision is the false circumcision which refers to us when we believe it is up to us to save ourselves and make ourselves righteous before Christ. Yet the true circumcision is without hands (no flesh involved).

Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

By the works of the law (a law for the lawless and disobedient, i.e. For the dogs) no flesh is being justified.

Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Rom 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth.

Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Paul used his own false beliefs to show us that he was of the concision before Christ mercifully took hold of him and by His hands began the true circumcision.

Php 3:8  Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

Php 3:9  And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

We are to try the spirits and take to heart always being aware of the flood of deceivers that marks the last days within ourselves.

1Jn 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

The church within ourselves falls away and we lose our first love as we see Paul and John both are telling us in an is, was and will be manner. We keep all the words of the prophecy of this Book [Rev 1:3]. Grievous wolves enter into our hearts and minds when this happens.

Act 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

Act 20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

Carnal thoughts within who are outside the renewed Covenant of Christ/the Living Words of Christ is what defines the dog spirit within ourselves. We see this readily in the story of the Samaritan woman whose daughter had a demon.

Matthew 15:25-28 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” 26But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” 27 And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” 28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

Paul is warning us about dogs and this is a warning about evil workers without and evil spirits within that disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. This certainly applies outwardly, yet the warning about evil workers, is to be taken inwardly as we first judge ourselves in this age. This applies to all Scriptures. These dog spirits are so insidious because they are backed up by a profession of faith. This is what makes these dogs/thoughts a dangerous threat to God’s people. Christ spoke a similar warning as Paul’s letter to the Philippians [Matt 7:15]. Dogs represent ungodly reasoning and as such are also the tares of the field that masquerade as the truth yet is trusting in the righteousness of the flesh as the typical Pharisee within does. We have to exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees.

Mat 5:19  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 5:20  For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

The pillar of faith is that the dead, will be and are being raised to life. That is the Gospel and while there will be judgment, all men/lies will henceforth be partakers in age abiding life [Rev 5:13, Phil 2:10]. We will and have dominion over sin in Christ.

1 Cor 15:13-17 Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; 14 and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. 15 Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.

The falling away from faith being puffed up is, was and will be, is also clearly demonstrated in the lives of the apostles in type, spiritually speaking our emotions leading us astray, the natural showing the spiritual realities or lessons of today. Titus fell away [2 Ti 4 :10] and John was kicked out of the churches he started [3 Jn 1:9].

Act 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

Act 20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

2Ti 1:15 This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

Paul knew it takes time to mature and wait for the Lord to reveal Jesus Christ in us at our appointed time. Many within falls away before Christ comes. We are being marred in the Potters hand to be raised up again. The seed that is Christ will sprout in our hearts when God decides it is time.

Galatians 4:16-19 So have I become your enemy by telling you the truth? 17 They eagerly seek you, but not commendably, but they wish to shut you out so that you will seek them. 18 But it is good always to be eagerly sought in a commendable manner, and not only when I am present with you. 19 My children, with whom I am again in labor until Christ is formed in you.

The enemies of dying to self [the cross of Christ], are many within and without.

Phil 3:18-19 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.

We are being led astray and following after the law of the gentiles [Rom 2:15]. These of the false circumcision are evil workers/thoughts who do Satan’s bidding yet truly we at first, believe we serve the Lord.

2 Cor 11:12-15 But what I do, I will also continue to do, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things of which they boast. 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

Condemning others and speaking of vanities are what these dogs within us do. The Spirit within us, Christ in us, the Hope of Glory, do not do such, but mark those who cause such divisions within ourselves and within the Body and shun them.

Ephesians 5:8-11 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

We do not loose heart and stay with the written Word, not being puffed up.

2 Cor 4:1-3 Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. 2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. 2 Cor 4:3-6 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Satan, the servant of God, has us and our carnal thoughts, our dog spirit, blinded. Do not be fooled by external forms of godliness persuasive with swelling words of vanity and carnal knowledge of the Scriptures but remaining without any understanding.

2 Tim 3:1-5  But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Take very thought captive, separating from these dogs within that takes silly women captive within us.

2 Tim 3:6-7 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2 Cor 6:14-15 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?

We endure the persecution of the multitudes within being saved, a process.

2 Tim 3:13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

Dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the Master’s table. God has made a table for us.

Phil 2:14-16 Do all things without grumbling or disputing; 15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.

Many outsiders/evil thoughts to the Covenant of Faith, will seek to enter in and spoil us. Things tickling the ears are leading us astray.

1 Tim 1:18-20  This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, 19 having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck, 20 of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.

Be on the watch for the dogs within, those evil workers that can so easily disguise themselves with external sweetness and flattery who are not the Words of Christ.

1 Thess 2:1-5 For you yourselves know, brethren, that our coming to you was not in vain, 2 but after we had already suffered and been mistreated in Philippi, as you know, we had the boldness in our God to speak to you the gospel of God amid much opposition. 3 For our exhortation does not come from error or impurity or by way of deceit; 4 but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who examines our hearts. 5 For we never came with flattering speech

Let us do Christ, if the Lord permits, to do His good will and pleasure!

Isa 58:13  If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

Isa 58:14  Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
