A Time For Every Purpose

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Gen 18:14 Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

We must and we will learn to wait upon the Lord and trust in Him. If we are God’s Elect this process of being dragged to Christ and being taught the truth will teach us thru chastening grace to trust in Him alone. Salvation is all the Lord’s doing and as we come into knowledge of this truth we will be taught patience which is how we walk in the “IS”, “WAS” and “WILL BE” time frames of Christ. This verse will take on a huge meaning.

Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Those words uttered by Christ mean very little to most but they are powerful words of great peace for God’s Elect who are given the understanding of the mysteries of the kingdom. All things are ours Paul said, we will spiritually experience all the words of the Lord.

1Co 3:21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
1Co 3:22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;

Paul had come to understand the plan and purposes of God in putting us in these marred vessels of clay and giving us the life experiences we have to humble us and to teach us good and evil. The thinking of the carnal and rational mind is vanity and God uses these very experiences in their appointed times to accomplish His purposes. Carnal man will never understand God’s plan and two step process to save all men.

Jer 18:3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
Jer 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

1Co 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power

We are the clay and He is indeed the Potter and we are told that out of each lump of clay, God will bring forth two vessels. First the marred vessel of dishonor and then the vessel of honor, molded into the image and likeness of Christ. All in God’s timing. This is such a huge truth, one that will break the yoke of bondage of the carnal mind if we are given the faith to believe it.

Rom 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

Flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God. Not now or in the future. God’s plan, ways and thoughts will be foolishness to all of us until we are given our spiritual ears to hear. God works this deception as He does all things for good.

1Co 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

1Co 3:20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

The purpose of life has puzzled men for centuries yet we have a great Scripture that captures the essence of why we are here in these marred vessels of clay. We are not here to be robots even though we are mere pieces of clay in the potter’s hands.

Ecc 1:13 (CLV) I applied my heart to inquiring and exploring by wisdom concerning all that is done under the heavens:it is an experience of evil Elohim has given to the sons of humanity to humble them by it.

So there it is. What is being worked in our heavens, which is inside of us and on our earth, which is us the marred vessels of clay formed from the dust of the earth, is all an experience of evil whose purposes is to break our prideful spirit and humble us. These are the very same travails of childbirth and how God brings forth His Elect, the sons of God. This remaking process did not begin until Christ ascended into the “heavens”.

Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

This same process of God bringing forth His children through much judgment and great tribulation was spoken of here by Christ.

Joh 16:20 Verily, verily, I am saying to you that you shall be lamenting and wailing, yet the world will be rejoicing; yet you shall be sorrowed, but your sorrow shall become joy.”
Joh 16:21 A woman, whenever she may be bringing forth, is having sorrow, seeing that her hour came; yet whenever she should be bearing the little child, no longer is she remembering the affliction, because of the joy that a human being was born into the world.”
Joh 16:22 You then, also, now, indeed, will be having sorrow, yet I shall be seeing you again, and your heart shall be rejoicing, and your joy no one is taking away from you.”

It is indeed thru much tribulation we shall enter the kingdom of God. There is no other way except to follow Christ and the temple is entered into only as all the vials of wrath are fulfilled in our lives.

Rev 15:8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

This is indeed the purpose of God’s Elect. To save many through our mercy and to bear the burden and afflictions for the sake of the church. Such spiritual truths of following Christ and filling up in the afflictions of Christ is foolishness to the natural man and the orthodox churches of men.

Isa 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
Isa 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

The LION of Judah will come to make war with the flesh of the men He has chosen since before they were even born (the earth being formed). The carnal mind is enmity with God and will be destroyed as this is how new life comes forth, thru death and destruction. Of the wondrous works of God to the children of men.

Isa 42:13 The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.

Isa 42:14 I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.
Isa 42:15 I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.
Isa 42:16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
Isa 42:17 They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed

Christ will prevail against all enemies and this will be done by making them (causing them) to submit to Him. That is exactly what the Scriptures declare yet carnal minds will continue to exalt men and When we are blessed to see that we are the chief of sinners, and the self righteous beast within all of us is exposed, then the time is nigh and salvation stands at that very door. How blessed are those who trust in and wait upon the Lord to accomplish His work.

Ecc 3:1 To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

God is orchestrating all of these things in the lives of all men. He is the potter, we are truly the clay.

Ecc 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

God has determined not only the days of our physical birth and death but also the times where spiritual death and rebirth will take place. A time will come when the tares planted in the land will be gathered and burned with the fire of His word. Let him hear who has ears to hear.

Ecc 3:3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
Ecc 3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

James told us to let our laughter be turned to mourning and our joy to gloom. God has determined when these things shall take place and when we will live those words.

Ecc 3:5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
Ecc 3:6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

Even our gathering and fellowshipping with men are all ordained of God. There will be times when we are loved by this world, times when we are isolated and feel we are like Elijah, all alone and there will be times where God will put us together with the saints. To everything there is indeed a season as all things written are ours!

Ecc 3:7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
Ecc 3:8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Ecc 3:9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?

God’s process of bringing forth HIS SONS is likened unto child-birth and travails. This is how we are humbled and taught to learn good and evil as we mature into the faith. We like Christ will learn obedience through the things we suffer.

Ecc 3:10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
Ecc 3:11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

We are all born spiritually blind so that we cannot see the kingdom of God nor understand these mysteries. But in our appointed times, if we are God’s Elect, these things will be revealed to us.

Ecc 3:12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
Ecc 3:13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

Even while we walk in the flesh oblivious to the true workings of God we are being blessed. Christ promises to bless Ishmael even though that seed of the many called shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Gen 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

During our appointed times in Babylon, we will be blessed and this great nation will think they are serving God. While they do profess His name, they know Christ only in the flesh and are walking in strong delusion following the millions of carnal doctrines we all initially learn. Yet the few chosen will come out of these many called and it is these that will inherit the kingdom of God in the here and now.

Gen 17:21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

But God is doing it all in His appointed times by sending His clouds, His very witnesses to send the rain that brings new life onto the land.

Act 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

It is simply not in a man to know his way or to direct his steps. God is working all things for the counsel of His will.

Ecc 3:14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
Ecc 3:15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
Ecc 3:16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.

Solomon like all the prophets of old was given to write of these spiritual truths and mysteries of the kingdom. One being that salvation comes through judgment and with great wrath. It is by coming to see and to understand that all men are beasts and we were created in these marred vessels of clay in purpose, so the Lord can remake all things in the appointed times.
Ecc 3:17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
Ecc 3:18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

All men will die, all flesh and carnal minds shall be destroyed. God created it to destroy flesh in its appointed times. We came from the dust and to dust we all shall return. But this is where the gift of faith comes in and brings the peace that transcends all understanding. When we believe that even though men perish all men shall live and be resurrected and made new, then we are in the faith and standing on the rock that is Christ.

Ecc 3:19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
Ecc 3:20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
Ecc 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
Ecc 3:22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

Christ is the answer. He will bring us all to see what shall come after. For a blessed few, His Election, they will come to see these things now. For all the rest, they will come to see it later at the resurrection of the dead. But in any event, this is the blessed hope which will radically change lives and perspectives if one is given the faith to believe it.

Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

We don’t know what will happen tomorrow or even today. But we do know the end as the Lord has declared it. All flesh shall see the salvation of the Lord! Through Christ, ALL men shall be made alive. How blessed are those given the faith to believe these things now. God has spoken it and it will come to pass. In our patience we will possess our souls.

Exo 9:5 And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, Tomorrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.
