Doing The Work Of God

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

wordsoffireJohn 14:12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Disciples of Jesus Christ will do the works that Christ did and per the words of the Lord we are told we will do even greater works than He did.  This post will explore what are those works that Christ was speaking about.  The truth is those works are not what is being done in the churches of men.  God has a purpose in all of this as He is indeed working all things for the counsel of His will.

The work of God is simply to bring about the accomplishing of His good and perfect will which is our sanctification.  This purification comes thru the process of judgment and chastening grace and is brought to us all in our appointed times.  And we should know that it is the WORD,  the fiery word that brings judgment when we are given ears to hear.  So all the work of God in simplistic terms is speaking His words of fire.

Look at this Scripture that tells us what a workman is going to be good at! Rightly Dividing the Word.

2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

All the prophets of God were sent to speak His word, “thus sayeth the Lord”, some basic examples….

Jer 5:14  Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

Eze 2:7  And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

Eze 3:4  And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

Isa 6:9  And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

It is the WORD that heals, turns hearts, cleanses lepers, cast of demons and raises the spiritual dead to life.    The entire world is an enemy of God and it is by His Elect, doing the works of Christ (the Christ of Christ) that we feed our enemies and given them drink that nourishes their soul.  It is speaking the word of God; Christ that is the work Jesus spoke about.  This is giving food and drink to our enemy and those chosen of God (the little ones).

Rom 12:20  Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Look at this Scripture.  Giving food and water, heaps coals of fire upon the heads of our enemies.  That is because the food and drink is the living word, the words of Christ that if they are heard with spiritual ears, will consume the wood that is our fleshly and carnal minds and its doctrines.

John 21:17 Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

The Elect of God do these works not to save ourselves or stay saved, we do them primarily because we are commanded to do it and obeying these commandments IS THE LOVE OF GOD.

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

But also have an extra incentive for doing them zealously.  We work for the reward that is promised to all that are faithful to their calling and election.

Mat 10:42  And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

That reward is the crown of righteousness and the honor of ruling with Christ during His reign here on the physical earth and to judge the world in righteousness at the second resurrection.

Rev 20:6  Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Php 3:14  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

The harlot churches and traditions of men have totally confused and mixed up the promise of salvation with the promises given to the Elect of God.  They do not understand Election or its purposes and this applies to the so called Calvinist denominations.  They have no clue. This is at the heart of the confusion and blindness that binds them all in spiritual darkness.

This is the work of God to do the same things Christ did.  He sends us to do exactly what His Father sent Him to do.  Like Father like Son.

Mat 10:6  But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Mat 10:7  And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mat 10:8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

I used to wonder why we did not see many miracles and people being raised from the dead.  I thought the issue was sin which had overpowered God’s plan; rendering the words of Christ null and void.  Such carnal foolishness,  the problem was understanding what the work of God truly is.

The Apostle Paul encourages the saints to always be abounding in the work of the Lord.

1Co 15:58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Our labor of planting seeds and water seeds already planted will never be in vain.  In due time the whole harvest and all men shall be saved by this WORD we speak.

Christ’s Works WERE NOT The Signs and Miracles

The Father certainly gave Christ the Spirit without measure we are told and with that measure of the Spirit Christ did many miracles and signs to get the attention of the world.  But those are not the works of Christ that the Lord spoke about nor is sending us to do.  We can see that if we examine the Scriptures understanding that His words are SPIRIT and it is those words that do the work of God.

Joh 5:36  But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.

Joh 5:37  And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

Joh 5:38  And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.

One has to have God given ears to hear to do the works of God.  The Pharisees could not hear His voice at any time.  If they had heard Christ they would have heard the Father.  But they had not ears to hear.  We only get ears to hear in conjunction with the gift of faith and it is only at that time that His word will be abiding in us.  Until we have that word in us, we will be on the outside of covenant and believe not, just like the religious of Christ’s days in the flesh.  In speaking with His Disciples,  Christ instructed them about the religious opposition they would face, that all the Elect will face in their respective generations.

Joh 15:22  If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

Joh 15:23  He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

Joh 15:24  If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

The work of God is speaking the words of truth to the lost house of Israel!

The Mission of the Christ of Christ

So I hope you are beginning to see the truth emerge.  The work of God is not at all what the professing church thinks it is.  The entire focus of the Babylon churches is on external activities; be it missions and programs to help people in the flesh.  Providing food for the poor, clothing and housing assistance and visiting inmates in prison are very nice things to do and reflect a compassionate that God has put into the hearts of the many called.  And these are God’s work and are not our own and when we think they are are doing they are filthy rages before God. Yet doing this nice stuff  is not what Christ was speaking about and you will not see such programs focused on helping the world in the flesh as the calling for disciples of Jesus Christ anywhere in Scripture.

Joh 6:29  Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

In fact Jesus said these words right after the multitudes who had been fed physical bread and fish followed Him across the lake.  Christ told them bluntly they sought after Him not for the true spiritual bread of heaven but for the physical fulfillment.

Joh 6:25  And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?

Joh 6:26  Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

Joh 6:27  Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

The multitudes (the professing church) pressed Him looking for a sign and Christ in explaining His work, made the clear distinction between the bread they thought was from heaven versus the true bread that comes by the Father from heaven.

Joh 6:30  They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

Joh 6:31  Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

Joh 6:32  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

Joh 6:33  For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

This is a huge lesson right here and I do hope you will pause to receive it.  The work of God is feeding the hungry and giving them drink.  This speaks of the bread from heaven and the living water that represents the true gospel and the mysteries of the kingdom of God.

Pro 25:21  If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:

But make no mistake, the work of God is speaking the gospel, it is feeding our enemies and giving them water to drink.  It is visiting them in prison and clothing them from their nakedness.  These are all spiritual things true worshippers will do and this all comes from God and through His living word which is Christ.  Let’s take a quick look at the works Christ is looking for at the judgment seat.

Mat 25:34  Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

As we will see below, it is the ELECT, the Christ of Christ that is sent to do the works of God here on this earth.  Christ in speaking to the sheep here, is speaking the Elect only.

Mat 25:35  For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

Giving people the pure milk that is the foundation of this good news gospel is drink that will nourish all new babes into maturity.  Giving those who accept the milk the stronger meat and deeper things of God is what all those chosen of God and given to ears to hear will long for and seek out constantly.  When we accept perfect strangers into our fellowship because they hear us we know they are of God and we take these strangers into our spiritual houses.

1Jn 4:6  We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us.

Christ continues….

Mat 25:36  Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Being clothed in righteousness and garments of salvation means to walk in faith that is given by God.  We clothe the brethren when we speak the true gospel and these fiery words that are an offense to all flesh.  When those words are heard and planted in hearts prepared by God, people are clothed.  The same are healed of their spiritual sicknesses and are released from the prisons and the bondage and torment they had lived their whole lives prior.

Heb 2:14  Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

Heb 2:15  And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

The Elect shall answer Christ….

Mat 25:37  Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

Mat 25:38  When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

Mat 25:39  Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

Mat 25:40  And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

By all means we are to love all of our neighbors, whether they are in the faith or out of the faith.  So don’t get me wrong,  if God places such a one in your life, we are to be like the good Samaritan of Luke 15.  But that is not the primary calling of God’s Elect,  God has set it up and uses Babylon and all the ordinances of men and government to provide those things. He is working all things for the counsel of His will.  The Elect are to go to the lost house of Israel, the many called, the professing church and speak the words of fire.  We will certainly help those God puts in our paths where we can but we are not to be preoccupied with the physical needs of the world.

Joh 17:9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

Faith Comes By Hearing

You see the Elect is the CHRIST of CHRIST.  The Elect is HIS BODY here on the earth.  That is how Christ can say when we did these things (gave food, clothing, etc)  for the least of the brethren, we did it for HIM.  We did it for His Elect that were on this earth and that is how they in turn come to faith.

He is in us and we are in Him.  We do not know until we speak the truth,  nor judge in the flesh who is of God and who is not.  Our only way of knowing is to speak these words that feed and nourish and if they hear those words will accomplish their purposes.  That is why we do it.   Christ’s Christ must be sent out to speak these words, that is the work of God.

Rom 10:14  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Rom 10:15  And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Rom 10:16  But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

Rom 10:17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

I have been criticized for spending as much time as I do on the computer writing these things, posting comments on my blog,  other blogs and on Facebook.  But I have news for you, that is doing the work of God and certainly if one does not neglect their physical families.  If it were not for my activities I would still be in spiritual darkness wondering after the beasts and the false Christian traditions of men.  We should of course be prepared always to give an account be it face to face or online to all that may inquire of the hope we have in us.

1Pe 3:15  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Disciples will be led of God to diligently and among great opposition speak HIS fiery words that the Lord has put into our mouths to speak.  This is doing the work of God and this is how Christ builds His church,  by given them ears to hear and the thirst to drink of His living waters, which is the WORD.

Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

The Ministry of Christ and His Christ

This is how Jesus described His ministry when He first began under the power of the Holy Spirit that was poured into Him without measure.

Luk 4:18  The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Luk 4:19  To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

This is exactly the same ministry that is given to HIS CHRIST,  His body,  the Elect.

Joh 20:21  Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

The Elect of God is likened to a devouring fire just like Christ and His God the Father.

Luk 12:49  I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled

When Jesus said we would do even greater works than He, Christ was speaking about us having more time and more opportunities to speak the words of truth to the lost house of Israel.  That is the work of God that every called and chosen disciple is sent to do.  We are sent just as His Father and God, who is our Father and God sent Christ.  Unlike Christ, we are no longer bound in speaking in parables to the multitudes; we can tell them plainly the truth.

And this is where we are commanded to go and what we are commanded to say:

Mat 10:5  These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

Mat 10:6  But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Mat 10:7  And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mat 10:8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

We see this remarkable mystery that is hidden from the world reflected in the Book of Revelation and the witness of the Apostle John.  The angel showing John all these things in his vision was a messenger of God, he was a disciple, called and chosen and the ELECT.  It was not a winged angel as indeed the word for angel simply means a messenger.  So all of the Elect are these very angels who in turn show the brethren these truths in their appointed times.

Rev 19:10  And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Disciples are sent to the professing Church in each generation.  To come out of Babylon, one must first be in Babylon and all the Elect will live by every word of God and will first come through Babylon.  We see this in the examples in the Old Testament which are written for us and our admonition.

Eze 3:4  And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

Eze 3:5  For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;

Eze 3:6  Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.

Eze 3:7  But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.

We will be speaking fire,  HIS WORD to them and whether they hear or do not hear we still speak it.   That is the love of God which is to obey His commandments and do His Work.

Jer 5:14  Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

The work of Christ results in the destruction of the beast within us all, our flesh and carnal minds will be destroyed when we are given the ability to hear His word.  Yet one cannot hear unless a preacher is sent and that is why we go.  Salvation comes with judgment and through wrath as has been discussed in recent posts.  But our day of judgment does not come until we can HEAR the words of Christ on the last day of our carnal age.

Joh 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

Joh 12:48  He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

When the report of Isaiah is believed, the salvation of all men,  then that new babe will begin to grow when this pure milk is sucked upon.  Few will believe what I just shared as the whole world and particularly the professing church is bound in unbelief and spiritual darkness.  They know and profess Christ in the flesh and do many good works that are truly filthy rages to God, who needs nothing from man.

God Needs Nothing From Man

Act 17:25  Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

God does not need our good works.  Yes He commissions them as He direct the steps of all men.  God is in the business of making poor people as He makes the rich people and all people.  He is the potter!

Mat 26:11  For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

God is indeed working all things for the greater good and in the end it does not get any better than the salvation of all men who have every lived.  The few chosen will all come up through Babylon and be dragged out of the many called.  For our appointed times and seasons, we will worship Christ in the flesh and do many good works, all the while boasting in them and still remaining the self righteous beast that we all are.  Yet when we are given our ears and the commission to do the work of God we will go and speak these words of fire to the lost house of Israel.  This is told us in the Scriptures if you can see it.

Here is how James defined pure religion.

Jas 1:27  Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

But what this speaks of us in not what carnal man thinks.  The fatherless are those who do not know God and the widows are those who have no husband and Christ is NOT their Lord.  These will be in great inner torment, and not have the true peace given by faith in Christ and the salvation of all men,  the good news.  The Elect, the true church of God is to visit them in their afflictions, not to make them comfortable in the flesh or in the world but to speak the words that if heard will result in the salvation of their souls.  Of course we do this while we ourselves keep ourselves unspotted from the world.  We are to come out and to stay out of her my people. God willing this we shall do.  The same word translated as affliction is the word used for tribulation in our bibles.  When we hear the living word,  our tribulation, our afflictions will only increase as it is thru judgment that Zion is redeemed.

Joh 16:33  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Act 14:22  Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

While we are living in the wilderness IN BABYLON, being fed the dead letter and knowing Christ only in the flesh,  we are kept under the hedge of God’s protection and the evil one cannot get to us.  But when our day of judgment arrives,  the hedge is removed and the hand of God, (the serpent) is sent to bring wrath and to begin the process of God working salvation in us.

Job 1:6  Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

Job 1:7  And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

Job 1:8  And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Job 1:9  Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

Job 1:10  Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

Job 1:11  But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

Job 1:1And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

We all live the words of JOB, doing these good works and taking credit for them in our pride.  The beast that we all are, will think these filthy rag works make us religious and above other men who do not do these good works.  All is being done to hold us in darkness until our appointed day arrives.  Just listen to JOB boasting in all his good works and using them to strive with His maker God and challenge God on why JOB was being judged.

Just consider these words of JOB, words we all speak to justify ourselves before God and strive with our maker.  We think God needs us and just look at how we wonder after our beast.  Just look at all the references to Me, Myself and I that Job makes here to God.  He is exalting himself.  I did this, we all do.  I post all of this here so you can see how puffed up JOB was about HIS WORKS and esteem among men.  I underline the boasting of JOB, that we all do the same things.

Job 29:7  When I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street!

Job 29:8  The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the aged arose, and stood up.

Job 29:9  The princes refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth.

Job 29:10  The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.

Job 29:11  When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me:

Job 29:12  Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him.

Job 29:13  The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.

Job 29:14  I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem.

Job 29:15  I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame.

Job 29:16  I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.

Job 29:17  And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.

Job 29:18  Then I said, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply my days as the sand.

Job 29:19  My root was spread out by the waters, and the dew lay all night upon my branch.

Job 29:20  My glory was fresh in me, and my bow was renewed in my hand.

Job 29:21  Unto me men gave ear, and waited, and kept silence at my counsel.

Job 29:22  After my words they spake not again; and my speech dropped upon them.

Job 29:23  And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.

Job 29:24  If I laughed on them, they believed it not; and the light of my countenance they cast not down.

Job 29:25  I chose out their way, and sat chief, and dwelt as a king in the army, as one that comforteth the mourners.

I, ME, MY,  the JOB is all of us beasts.  ALL MEN ARE BEASTS (Ecc 3:18).  God truly does not need anything from man.  NOTHING.  We are the works of His hands and everything we do is ordained of God and written in our books since before we were even created.

Act 17:25  Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

Act 17:26  And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation

When Jesus said we would go and do even greater works than Him,  He was not talking about feeding people physical bread nor doing miracles in the flesh.  What Christ was speaking about was speaking His words of fire to the lost house of Israel.  No longer encumbered and having to speak in parables, we can plainly speak the truth of God and His commandments to a house which thinks it is not lost and to which thinks it needs no repentance.

Joh 14:12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Joh 6:29  Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

The work of a disciple is to speak the WORD.  This does not mean we have no compassion for the poor as of course we do, but we know God is working all things, even making poor people.  The disciples were murmured against because they were not focused on attending to the physical needs of widows and the poor.  This work was delegated and THE BODY took care of those in the body that were in need.

Act 6:1  And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

Act 6:2  Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

Act 6:3  Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

And that should be our calling.  We should be generous and give to those in need, beginning with those in the covenant of faith.  We are not to be focused on the world but on the body of Christ.

Our first priority in helping people must be to the true BODY OF CHRIST.  The story of the Alabaster jar conveys this message quite well.

Mat 26:7  There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.

Mat 26:8  But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

Mat 26:9  For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

Mat 26:10  When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.

Mat 26:11  For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

Mat 26:12  For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.

Mat 26:13  Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

The gifts, the true riches of heaven that are given to us are to be poured out on His Body to prepare them for burial.  To the as yet unconverted disciples that this was a travesty but Jesus rebuked them and spoke of His true work.  This is a hard truth to accept given how we all are raised.

The better thing was not to be a like Martha, but as Christ said far better to sit at His feet and fellowship with HIM,  the Body of Christ.  So many that walk not in the Spirit do many good works and are always exhausting themselves to do good works as if that makes them acceptable to God.

Luk 10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and HEARD his word.
Luk 10:40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
Luk 10:41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
Luk 10:42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

The far better thing is to sit with Christ, HIS BODY,  His Elect and hear His word.  That is what edifies us and prepares us for this walk of suffering and affliction.  In fact our fellowship with the Christ of Christ is the breaking of bread and drinking of wine that we are admonished to do often in memory of Christ.  Our faith will certainly not be without works or otherwise it will be dead as James said.  So we see admonishments many places that speak of our calling and especially toward the body of Christ, the saints, the brethren, The Elect of God.

Rom 12:13  Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

The “world” is not the saints.  The saints are the brethren, the body of Christ, His Elect.  All these words as indeed all Scripture are written for our admonition upon whom the end of the ages have come.

1Ti 6:17  Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

1Ti 6:18  That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

Good works most certainly includes helping those in need but those are not the works Christ was speaking regarding HIS Disciples.  All the good works we do are not our own works and when we boast like JOB did about them and many do today, just as I did,  we justify ourselves before God and here is what God says about that.

Isa 65:5  Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

Whatever God has declared to be done will be done in terms of good works by the churches of men.  He is working all things and we cannot come to understand this truth about the WORK of God and His Elect until we are given the faith to know and to believe that God is working all things for the counsel of His will.

Eph 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will

I used to say these were the saddest verses in Scripture.  They will be spoken to “many”, which means virtually all that profess the name of Christ in their day of judgment.

Mat 7:22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Mat 7:23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The good news, is that these verses do not speak to sending people to eternal hell.  They speak the same as these words from Paul.  All of these works shall be burned up yet these many people as with all men will be saved yet as thru fire.

1Co 3:15  If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

The entire purpose of the Elect is to raise up merciful judges to rule and to judge the world in the ages to come.  Christ is going to save all thru the few.  So knowing these things we will have a heart zealous for good works which is foremost to go and speak this WORD.    We overcome by the testimony of our word and the blood of the lamb.  We have to be doing His Work, we have to be testifying by speaking His Word.

We will be good Samaritans and have compassion on all men and provide the spiritual healing as well as the physical needs of those God puts in our paths.

Luk 10:33  But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

Luk 10:34  And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

Luk 10:35  And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

Luk 10:36  Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

Luk 10:37  And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

Jesus spoke to Peter and three times admonished Peter to feed His sheep.  The sheep of Christ are His Elect who are wandering in Babylon until they will hear the WORD of the Lord and come follow Him.  Let’s go feed the sheep this bread from heaven and these living waters.

Joh 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
Joh 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
Joh 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

These are tough truths.  I share them and hope that God will grant the reader the ability to hear the truth.    Lest be zealous to do good works knowing Christ gave His all for us to redeem us and bring the mercy that has now appeared to us that we might be His people.

Tit 2:14  Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

  1. 1 Peter 4:17 – JUDGMENT begins at God’s Elect, THEY ARE HIS SHEEP.

The sheep, God’s Elect are judged NOW, in this life, they enter into Christ only by going thru ALL the vials of wrath. See Rev 15:8. That is the way of salvation, thru judgment and with great wrath, the only way anyone is redeemed of the Lord. That starts at HIS HOUSE, ZION, see ISA 1:27

Rev 15:8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple (((JESUS CHRIST))), till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled (((NOT BEFORE THEY ARE JUDGED COMPLETELY BY GOD)))

Christ is the temple, that is where HE is, sitting on His throne in His temple and that temple is inside of HIS ELECT, because GOd put it there. Many are called and few are chosen.

The Elect have their judgment Now Glen in this life in these clay vessels. Matthew 25 is a parable, the separating of the sheep and goats does not happen at the same time. The MILL REIGN stands in between those judgments. The Elect will in fact be the JUDGES.

Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
Rev 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

This speaks first to power over our INWARD nations of our beast and its many kingdoms. But also applies outwardly to the role and purpose of God’s Elect. Carnal minds cannot receive these truths.

Rev 2:29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Here are some more Scriptures of the ELECT judging. THEY ARE THE LAKE OF FIRE. It is the WORD OF GOD that purifies all of us in our appointed times.

1Co 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Salvation comes THRU JUDGMENT and saviors (GODS ELECT) will come up to the mount of Esau, this is the lake of fire and all the kingdoms shall be subdued for the Lord. It is speaking the words of FIRE, this shall take place to those given spiritual ears to hear this word.

Oba 1:21 And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.

Mat 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Not ALL ISreal is Israel yet all Israel shall be saved. So all men are God’s people in the end, yet for now and until the lake of fire, only HIS ELECT are Israel and it is upon them that judgment shall first come. That is such a blessing, not to the flesh but to the new man. Sweeter than gold and more desirable than honey.

Psa 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
Psa 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey

Hebrews 9:27 speaks to the death of the old man, the carnal nature, do not think of that in the physical. New life only comes by death, thru judgment just as Christ said in John 12.

Joh 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
Joh 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

While it is true most men, all but the Elect, will be judged in the next life, AFTER physical death, that will not happen until the 2ND RESURRECTION when all men are raised in spiritual bodies and then the goats will be judged and be purified in the lake of fire. The Elect however are judged now in this life, they are “this generation” that shall not taste physical death until all these things, spoken of in Rev 24, Luke 21, Revelation come to pass.

When we are shown clearly by Christ who is the abomination of desolation then our judgment has begun.

Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

We will be taught to count this process as joy and know it is a blessing to have old man beast nature destroyed with fire by the hand of God in His temples, which temple WE ARE. The world will not understand this and will think it is foolishness.

But when you can read and understand, just as Christ said in Matt 24:15, then the time is at hand and the one reading and understanding shall see the Lord return upon the clouds and with great glory. That person is now under judgment and is a wonderful thing.

Rev 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

The entire Bible is about judgment. God created us on purposes, in marred vessels of clay, so He could remake us all into a different vessel as it pleases the Potter to make. That all in HIS HANDS and timing and it comes thru judgment.

Jesus spoke these words to “some” standing with him on that day. If you remember where the kingdom of God is (Luk 17:20-21) and where is heaven and the throne of God (Isa 6:1),

Isa 6:1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

…you will understanding Christ coming into His kingdom is within His Elect. As all these other Scriptures show, life comes thru death and that thru judgment. So what Christ said here was that these disciples would not taste physical death before they saw Jesus come back and set up His kingdom in their hearts.

Mat 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Christ has very few sheep, it is indeed A LITTLE FLOCK. His sheep are the chosen few, given to Him by the Father and declared from the beginning. All the Father has given Him shall come and He will lose none. But is also true that many are called and few are chosen. As His sheep, we press onward and upward for the higher calling of God which is to be in that first resurrection and rule and reign this world in righteousness during the MILL REIGN period.

Luk 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

We do not fear this world and the things going on in this world. God is working all things for the council of His will, even the evil things. that is the peace that transcends all understanding

There is some strong meat mentioned in this comment. Let me know if you have other questions and God willing, I will answer to the best of what has been given to me.

  2. Pete,
Totally agree that some of the sheep, some of the many are the chosen few, but still thinking that many sheep are not chosen. Can you explain why you think all are? Are you saying that you see the great white throne happening in this life? I think this passage is describing the great white throne – after we pass: . KJV Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

  3. The sheep of Christ are those that hear His word which words are spirit. The sheep are those who have been judged NOW and then become the shepherds of the flock. Faith comes by hearing the Word. John 10 tells us this and speaks of the Christ. John 10:2

  4. Glen. The elect were chosen from the beginning. Before the Great white throne judgment they will have already been resurrected and have ruled the earth for thee 1000 year (symbolic time) period. The elect give out food and drink aka Romans 12:20 and would have done so in this life in the clay. They are “jesus christ”, HIS body on this earth now and have been for all generations since Christ ascended into Heaven. Heaven is inside of the earth, that is where christ dwells sitting on the throne. When we do it to the least of them we do it TO christ meaning HIs elect. The chosen of God are the judges at the GWTJ. They are the Lake of fire. It is thru the speaking of HIS word that when heard with God given spiritual ears judgment will commence.
