The Blessing of God’s Election

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Matthew 22:14  For many are called, but few are chosen

This short sentence by Jesus has confounded the wise men of religion for years.  Yet it states a simple fact.  This fact is that while God will ultimately call all men to Himself (the many),  He will choose very few to be HIS ELECT on this earth.  These are His chosen servants  and Jesus will reveal Himself and make His abode with His Elect.  All that God has spoken and planned since before the world began will come to pass exactly in the order and sequence God has ordained.  His will, will be done!

Isaiah 46:10-13

Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things that are not yet done,
Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,
And I will do all My pleasure,’
Indeed I have spoken it;
I will also bring it to pass.
I have purposed it;
I will also do it.

12 “Listen to Me, you stubborn-hearted,
Who are far from righteousness:
13 I bring My righteousness near, it shall not be far off;
My salvation shall not linger.
And I will place salvation in Zion,
For Israel My glory.

God will personally place all that are saved in Zion.  He is the Savior and it is only by His election of grace that all men shall come to be saved in the appointed time.  Man does not save himself and has no free will to even choose God as has been shown in several recent posts.

We saw in the last post regarding God’s supposed hatred of Esau, that God really did not hate Esau.  God choosing Jacob over Esau was simply based on His absolute Sovereign choice of election.  The Elect of God by no means nullify the promises of God and the salvation that is guaranteed to all men. Salvation for all was the promises given the fathers of faith and they will come to pass exactly as promised.  But God has a plan that was spoken before this world was evened formed.  God’s plans and purposes call for a chosen people,  THE ELECT of God to be His servants on this earth.  No need to apply for a job,  God does it all as the Scriptures make clear.

Ephesians 1:4  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love

It is a tremendous blessing to be among the chosen few.  I am still learning what all this entails.  But it also comes with a commitment to suffer for Christ and live a life of sacrifice and persecution by those of the world.  This is the cost of discipleship.   These are the paths the Spirit is now leading me on and I will look to my brethren, the true saints to help me stay strong and encouraged in the Lord.

This message is written only for those that have ears to hear.  It is for the edification of the Body of Christ, which is the ELECT of God.  It is by sharing in His afflictions and rejection by the world that we shall come to share in His glory.

Romans 8:30  Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Many reading this post will be offended. What this is blasphemy some will say.  God shares His glory with nobody.  Well that is true, but He will share His glory with His sons and daughters, the very ones HE chooses and gives an inheritance into the kingdom.  That is a topic for another day, but it says it right here in Romans 8.  He has called us for His own glory so His name shall be magnified in all the earth and ALL shall come to know He is the Lord.

Those not in the true faith will see this as bragging or being arrogant by claiming some special privilege with God.  I have gotten a few emails charging me with such an offense.  But I will stand blameless before the Lord on that charge.  Such charges are the deceptions of a carnal mind and the same envy and bitterness expressed by the Pharisees to Jesus and His disciples.  All so chosen by God who lives a godly life in Christ shall be persecuted.  In this we rejoice knowing this is confirmation of our salvation given already.  These words of Paul, as all of his letters, we written only for the ELECT.

Phil 1:27-29  Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, 28 and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God. 29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, 30 having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.

A great calling has been placed upon the Elect.  It is only for them so chosen.  This is the work of God, His Sovereign choice of electing His servants and who shall be His Bride.  Man does not choose to be the Bride of Christ.  God chooses all His Disciples.  Disciples will be held responsible for the light of truth given to us and whether we walked in this covenant with our God and Maker.  We will rightfully show mercy to our accusers, knowing they don’t know what they are doing and remain ignorant of the true faith.

Luke 12:48  For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

The Lord has always had a people, called out and separated from this world.  These ELECT people, chosen only by the will of God are the true ISRAEL OF GOD.  God has always had a true Israel which are children designated for rebirth by the Spirit of God.  These are the spiritual descendants of Abraham born of the spiritual seed of his son Isaac.

Romans 9:6-8  But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, 7 nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.” 8 That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.

Faith is indeed a great gift of the Almighty God.  Those who hear will all know this.  Those who do not hear will reject this and claim it is man’s choice to have faith.  But such remain in spiritual darkness, they are not sons of the light.

The Elect are these children of the promise given to Abraham.   In due time all men shall be saved but how God brings this about is through choosing His Elect.  In times past, I saw glimpses of this truth on the spiritual versus physical Jew and wrote things speaking against the Jews that were half correct in identifying the Israel of God.  But the elect of God is a deeper mystery yet.  The very faith that one must have to even believe in this gospel and the salvation of all men, is given to the Elect.  Faith is indeed a gift as are all the fruits of the Holy Spirit.  Man’s religion has built entire doctrines and systems around the carnal belief that man chooses God and thereby chooses to have faith.  This is patently false and has already been discussed elsewhere on this blog.

The purposes of God’s Election are clear, they have been spoken and it shall stand.  No man or demon is going to get in the way of God bringing all of His preordained steps to fruition.

Isaiah 65:9  I will bring forth descendants from Jacob, My elect shall inherit it, and My servants shall dwell there

God is indeed the Master Potter orchestrating His plan perfectly.  Not even a bird falls from the sky outside of our Father’s will.  There is still only a remnant in this generation according to God’s election.  It is all grace if one sees the truth of this glorious gospel and believes and is thereby granted repentance and drawn to Christ by the Father. (Romans 2:4,  John 6:44)

Romans 11:5Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6 And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

Who gets this grace?  How do they get it?  It is all the work of God to His Elect.

7 What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8 Just as it is written:

“God has given them a spirit of stupor,
Eyes that they should not see
And ears that they should not hear,
To this very day.”

God has given this faith to the chosen few ordained from the beginning of time.  But to all the rest, they have been blinded on purpose and not allowed to see it right now.  This is all the work of God as salvation is of the Lord and His appointed time for each man.  His ways are not our ways but we can simply trust God for those who see with spiritual eyes, knowing that He promises of  mercy will be given to all in the end.  Hallelujah!

The potter always has to remake the original.  We are all born into and conceived in sin.  It is through this process of death and destruction that new life is brought forth through the hands of the Master Potter.  We must perish, we shall surely die and these things are all for good as our God is good and is simply accomplishing His will of purifying all of His people in the appointed order and sequence.  But a carnal minded man seeking God himself will invent doctrines such as an eternal hell to justify themselves, yet it is all of grace and faith which are the gifts of God.

Jeremiah 18:3-5  Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something at the wheel. 4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make. 5 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 6 “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord.

We must be BORN AGAIN to enter the kingdom of God.  We each must be remade by the Master Potter.  I cannot sit here and explain all the ways of God.  I believe no man can.  I must just trust the faith given to me to believe this gospel and the report of Isaiah.  My hope is solely standing on the faith the Lord has poured into my heart and confirmed by many witnesses of Scripture.  We persevere trusting in God and His promises.

Romans 8:20 –  For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

We all were born in sin and conceived in inequity.  This was the plan all along.  God did this on purpose and it is all for good once you see it as God will reveal to His Elect.

Once chosen of God,  the saints of God will not be complacent.  God has called us for a purpose and has lit a fire in our hearts to go serve Him.  There are many gifts and many ministries in the Body of Christ.  The common element however is faith and a love for people which is true holiness and defines the very essence of our great God.  We have been delivered and called out of both Egypt and mystery Babylon, the mother of harlots.  As was told to me lately,  I don’t think I appreciate yet what all of this means.

DEUT 7:7  For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. 7 The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; 8 but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

Nobody decided to come out!  If you are truly out, God dragged you out.  It is all of His choosing.  With love poured out in our hearts, His Elect obey Him and love God and our neighbors as ourselves.  This is our heart’s desire and we do it not to be saved but because salvation has already come to our house, the very bodies or tents that we occupy.

Destruction will come to all others.  This is by no means speaking of an eternal torment in hell.  But the potter simply has to remake all the marred vessels of clay in the appointed time to fulfill His promises.  It is God’s will that all of us, the Elect and all, be sanctified and purified of all sin.    All people will one day be reconciled back to God and death shall be abolished and destruction shall be no more.  This is really good news for those God has chosen to hear it now.  Jesus holds the keys to Hades and Death but we have this wonderful promise that applies to all that is yet to be fulfilled.  After doing all of this “destroying”  look what God says happens.

JOEL 2:28  “Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon ALL people

The Elect Are God’s Witnesses On Earth

ISA 43:10 “You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “And My servant whom I have chosen

We are called and chosen for a purpose.  That is to be a witness for the Lord.  We shall testify of His goodness and His love both in words and in deed.  This is how we glorify God by loving all men and being a testament to His enduring nature of love and mercy.  That is how God does it my friends.  It is by the foolishness of kind acts of mercy and love, combined with speaking truth in all boldness and power that the hearers are themselves converted into true believers.

Peter did not sit on his butt and rest on his laurels.  When God called him to go, he went where he was sent.  Peter made sure Cornelius’s family knew that he was just a mere man and that it was only by God’s election that he had been given the revelation and the commandments to go preach.  The revelation is a gift God gives to equip His chosen servants.

ACTS 10:40-42  Then God allowed him to appear, 41 not to the general public, but to us whom God had chosen in advance to be his witnesses. We were those who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And he ordered us to preach everywhere and to testify that Jesus is the one appointed by God to be the judge of all—the living and the dead.

The Apostles always start their letters with a reference to this calling and election by God.  We are to always live humbly knowing the source of all gifts and our very faith that is our hope.  But God is pleased to reveal Christ inside of us to those He has chosen.  This is why I now preach my friends without apologies for the boldness of my new hope.  Listen to Paul who knew like I know that we were chosen by God before we were even born.

GAL 1:15 But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace. Then it pleased him to reveal his Son to me  so that I would proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles.

Speaking of how we are to walk once chosen by the Lord we have many instructions that all point back to love and mercy.  The very attributes of our great merciful Father.

Col 3:12Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others

Oh the power.  There is true power in the words of a true disciple chosen and sent by the Lord.  A carnal man will think this is arrogance or pride, but it is not.  There is power standing in the truth and full assurance of the salvation for all men, already paid by the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

1 Thess 1:4We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be his own people.  For when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance that what we said was true. And you know of our concern for you from the way we lived when we were with you.

I am going to share some more verses here that are everywhere in the Bible that speak to this glorious privilege of election.  We can see clearly how men are saved; it is by the choice of God who gives His Spirit which then causes us to walk in obedience to His commandment to love ALL.

2 Thessalonians 2:13 As for us, we can’t help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvationa salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth

A recent post spoke of Fighting the Good Fight of Faith.  We do press onward once saved by God not to keep a salvation as that can never be lost.  But we do persevere and we do endure all the way to the very end, finishing this race God has set before us.  Why?  We do it for the prize and the reward we shall get if we finish.  Our reward can be a  crown of righteousness that will enable us to rule and reign with Jesus Christ in the next age.

2 TIM 2:10  So I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen. This is a trustworthy saying:

If we die with him, we will also live with him.

If we endure hardship, we will reign with him.

Do you see Paul stating here that we don’t save anyone?  We just preach and if God has chosen them,  they will believe.  That is why we do not argue, or strive or contend over clear matters of faith that God has revealed into our hearts.  We reject such heretics and move on after the second or third admonition.

I have developed my singing voice of late.  Having be saved and translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His marvelous light, I can’t help but sing loudly praises to our King.  To come to know the love He has purposed me for and poured out abundantly into my heart.  Verses like these bring great tears of joy to those of us so blessed by the Lord.

Ephesians 1:4-7 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. 6 So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son

When God heals us of our blindness and hardened hearts, we instantly can see. The mysteries of His plan for all men become clear to use and the anointing He has given to us is our teacher and we need no man to teach us these things.  Paul summed up the plan of ELECTION nicely in Ephesians.

Ephesians 1:9-11  God has now revealed to us his mysterious plan regarding Christ, a plan to fulfill his own good pleasure. And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth. 11 Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.  12 God’s purpose was that we Jews who were the first to trust in Christ would bring praise and glory to God.

Ears to Hear

The manifold wisdom of God is hidden in the Scriptures and is only revealed unto babes as the Lord chooses.  This is why Jesus spoke in parables it is said.  He did not speak this way to make it easy to understand the meaning,  it was done on purpose so only God can quicken the revelation knowledge to those He has ordained to hear it.  These are His chosen ones.    When Jesus is speaking, He is not speaking to all men,  He is speaking to His disciples, the ones He chooses.  This is why Jesus ended His statements many times with this saying.

Matthew 11:15  He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

Of course a carnal minded man that reads the Scripture will think he understands and hears.  Yet I can attest this is not the case.  Like the multitudes today, I had a zeal for God but without real knowledge.  Same thing Paul said about the Jews in Romans 10.  It is only by the Spirit that a man can discern the things of God and this only upon Election by God in the appointed time.

1 COR 2:14  But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Let’s look at some of the things Jesus said regarding who has ears to hear the truth.

John 13:18  I am not saying these things to all of you; I know the ones I have chosen

John 14:22-23  Judas (not Judas Iscariot, but the other disciple with that name) said to him, “Lord, why are you going to reveal yourself only to us and not to the world at large?” 23 Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them

The world cannot hear the words of Jesus.  This includes those that profess faith, the ones Jesus will tell I never knew you on the last day.  Very many book smart, spirit dumb Pharisees walk this earth finding fault with everyone and not knowing the true God and not believing in this wonderful gospel of salvation for all men.  They have made the Scriptures their idol but they have not yet been made willing to come.  God has not yet dragged them to Himself and that is the only way a man shall come to God.

John 5:38-40  But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. 39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

We will most certainly know the true disciples of Jesus Christ by the love they produce.  We will know them by their fruits. Those attacking this gospel preached on this web site will be ashamed one day of their fruit.  They may do some good deeds, I do not know but the fruit of love is certainly not produced in their writings or comments.  They think they have chosen God on their own initiative but they are greatly deceived as their belief in an eternal hell clearly reflects.

John 15:16You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

What has gone on at this website in the past month with these religious heretics has a very clear parallel in Acts 13.   The Jews incited a riot amongst the crowd to silence Paul and Barnabas but they were undeterred.  God had put it in their heart what to say and how to say it.

ACTS 13:47-49 Then Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and declared, “It was necessary that we first preach the word of God to you Jews. But since you have rejected it and judged yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we will offer it to the Gentiles. 47 For the Lord gave us this command when he said,

‘I have made you a light to the Gentiles,
to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.’

48 When the Gentiles heard this, they were very glad and thanked the Lord for his message; and all who were chosen for eternal life became believers.

Religious people hate this gospel.  They hate it when an Almighty God does all the choosing and all the saving.  It cuts out their self righteous hypocrisy.

50 Then the Jews stirred up the influential religious women and the leaders of the city, and they incited a mob against Paul and Barnabas and ran them out of town. 51 So they shook the dust from their feet as a sign of rejection and went to the town of Iconium. 52 And the believers were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

These religious folks that walk in a form of godliness are not filled with joy, nor the Holy Spirit.  They simply don’t know God and can to this day cannot hear the word of truth.  But this gospel must go and be preached as it has been commanded of the Lord’s disciples.

To the critiques and attackers of the truth we say this:

Romans 8:33-34  Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.  34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

With God being before us, the Elect of God don’t really care who is against us.  We have a Father in heaven who was pleased to reveal Himself to us.  We have a great privilege to serve the living God in this body of flesh with a down payment of the inheritance to come.  What a blessing.  It is my heart’s content to want to become a blessing and be just like my Father in heaven.  He loves all and shows mercy to all and that is what I will strive to do for the remaining days of my life.

Romans 9:4 They are the people of Israel, chosen to be God’s adopted children. God revealed his glory to them. He made covenants with them and gave them his law. He gave them the privilege of worshiping him and receiving his wonderful promises.

In a great mystery we are told that God did not reject His own people.

Romans 11:2  No, God has not rejected his own people, whom he chose from the very beginning.

This is a riddle that confuses carnal man always.  As we saw above, the spiritual seed of Isaac were the children of the promise.  Not all Israel is Israel.  ONLY THE ELECT IS ISRAEL.  This is how it can be stated that all Israel shall be saved.  These will be the few that enter by the narrow way.  All men are saved in the end in the ages to come and even death is no obstacle for the Master Potter to preach the gospel and give new hearts to men.

This is all of God’s choosing and appointment.  It has nothing to do with the free will of mankind.  It is all of grace and not any works.  True faith is a gift as is the eternal life it leads to now, in this body of flesh in partial down payment form.  It is the earnest of our inheritance as the chosen ones of the Lord.

Romans 11:7 -8 So this is the situation: Most of the people of Israel have not found the favor of God they are looking for so earnestly. A few have—the ones God has chosen—but the hearts of the rest were hardened. 8 As the Scriptures say,

God has put them into a deep sleep.
To this day he has shut their eyes so they do not see,
and closed their ears so they do not hear.”

This could not happen to us modern man thinks.  But God has never changed and His plans and purposes for ELECTION were spoken before the world began and they will come to pass.  Every jot and tittle.  But God has His plans and it is by the mercy of the ELECT that all men shall come to be saved.

Romans 11:30-32   but when the people of Israel rebelled against him, God was merciful to you instead. 31 Now they are the rebels, and God’s mercy has come to you so that they, too, will share in God’s mercy. 32 For God has imprisoned everyone in disobedience so he could have mercy on everyone.

I will end this long post with a reminder of the last words of Peter.  We have been called and elected by God and this is a incomprehensible blessing.  Receiving this gift of faith from the Lord is the  only way we will believe this gospel of good news and glad tidings for all men.  But we are told to make sure we do not camp around and rest on our laurels.  We are instructed by the great Apostle to add to our faith and grow in our maturity in the Lord.  The end of the maturing and perfecting process of our walk of faith is that we will show the kindness and love that Jesus showed to all men.  Love is the end of this walk.  Pure love for all.  This is who our God is and it is wonderful to know Him.  If we eagerly pursue these things, we shall never stumble.

2 Peter 1:10  Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We need to get in the race and run with endurance.  Those called and chosen of God cannot be sitting in the balcony of life anymore.  We must go where He send us and speak what He gives us to say.  I look forward to striving on with many of you and looking forward to the blessed hope ahead.  It is a wonderful thing to be chosen of God.  May we all be found worthy of His praises in the ages to come.

1 thought on “The Blessing of God’s Election”

  1. My heart was swelling with Love and Excitement reading this post. I can relate to the fact that I don’t ever remember choosing God but always knew there was one. I have had too many dreams dressed in a long white robe saving, preaching, having scriptures in dreams that I never knew was written. Suffered much in this life pretty much all my life. Been scourged by God. I always felt different then most people. And have only met a few like minded people. I don’t really know how to preach the gospel but know that God desires for all men to be saved. I had a hard time with the concept of hell. And in spite of all the rejections and beatings and being spat upon and rocks thrown at me as a child that is. And just feeling like I was so alone amongst my peers. I was there but not in conversation. Most people were worldly and sought riches or high quality stuff but I just could not relate. I won’t go into a long boring story again about my life but to end this comment it is true. I still LOVE. I wish I can get into all these dreams I had but it would take forever. Thank you for this post. My name is Stacey. I am 95% deaf and realize that there are only a handful who really understands the Word of God. Yes it seems to me that I am resting on my laurels but truth be told my feet really, really aches. I do try to minister to others but I can’t seem to make them understand. I have found a couple of other bloggers that have endured much and I understand their words completely. It was such a joy to finally realize what it was that I went through for a few years because I didn’t understand. I thought that I was doomed. But a few true believers have enlightened my spirit and helped me to remember who I truly am. And I am so thankful that eventually all men will be saved. I am a nobody. But I am a somebody to Christ! For He is the reason that I am still alive today. I just want to cry. I remember reading about the elect years ago and it just hit me and quickened my spirit and at the time I was going to this one church I approached the pastor with the question and he just told me not to concern myself with that. But it just drove me to read more and more. I was finally able to read the book of Job and jumped up and down on my bed with pure joy because instead of it condemning me like years before I understood! Isaiah 55″8-9 has a very special meaning to me as well because I spoke it in my mind one night disciplining my daughter after she had gone to bed. Well the next night I just opened my bible and my eyes fell right to that verse! I did not know it was written! I had to slam the book shut and say, God you are reading my mind!? Wow! But of course I am a nobody so I was not to be taken seriously. That’s it. Thank you!!!

Sincere comments and questions are encouraged!
