God is Faithful to His Covenants

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

God’s promises coming to pass, do not depend on the whims of his creation.  God is in control and has designed His plan with all foreknowledge.  We truly limit God and deny His power when we believe that man has the ability to thwart God’s plan and purposes.  This is silly.  God is the potter and all men are mere pieces of clay.  This is the common denominator of all the false teaching out there, it denies the power of God and of the Cross.  The focus of this post will be on the Covenant promises of God after we first review HIS character.

Numbers 23:9  God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

Let God be true and every man be a liar!  Our God is faithful.  He is faithful even when His creation is not faithful.  God never changes.  Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forevermore!  His mercy endures forever.  God is good.  His anger is but for a short time.  His love never fails.  Nothing is impossible for God.  Jesus has won the victory over even death.   It is deceived men who continue to deny God’s power in their teachings and limit God and thereby exalt themselves.  All what is in this paragraph is clearly told us in the Scriptures.  But many do not believe.

God is a just God who will punish the wicked and is angry with the wicked every day,  but this does not change who God is as a loving Father.  His punishments are always just and given in love and with mercy.  This is His nature and He changes not.  This is why we are told to love our enemies and do good to those that hate us.  That is because that is what God does to His enemies and expects His children to be just like Him.  There is not a different standard for us and God.  Consider what the Lord Jesus had to say of such things from Luke 6.

But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.

So you see my friends,  God’s punishments in the end are for the good of all.  David came to see and understand this and my hope is you will to when the veil of an eternal hell and a God that stays angry for ever is lifted from your eyes.  Then you will truly believe.

Psalm 19:9-12

The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned,

These judgments are given in love.  To warn us and to turn us away from wickedness.  But the mercy never ends, even after we die.  I believe God can raise people died and buried in the ground from the dead and give them eternal life.  Do you?  That is exactly what our Father did with the Lord Jesus Christ, who has forever won the victory over death for ALL MEN for ALL NATIONS, ALL FAMILIES.  Yet incredibly many that profess to know the Scriptures do not even beleive it.  One day we shall see all of God’s covenantal promises fulfilled.  All tongues will be confessing that Jesus is the Lord to the glory of God.  The great Apostle Paul spoke against the scoffers and mockers of God’s power and the full breadth of richness of this marvelous gospel.

1 COR 15:16 For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. 17 And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!

But Christ is risen!  The dead do rise!  Believe this wonder and walk by faith.

I want to end this post with a mini review of the covenant promises of our faithful God.  They all will come to pass and be fulfilled.

Isaiah 46:11 Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass. I have planned it, surely I will do it.

Promises to the Fathers of Faith

Genesis 12:3  I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you ALL the families of the earth shall be blessed

The father of all faith is Abraham.  What this covenants say is that through faith,  God is going to bless all the families of the earth.  Jesus was this blessing and His sacrifice has indeed fulfilled this promise that God swore, and HE cannot lie.  The lamb that was shed from the foundation of the whole world has come and HE has taken away the sin of the world.  But very few believe that God is faithful to His promises, very few.

John 1:29  Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Gen 18:17And the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, 18 since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and ALL the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

Gen 22:16By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son17 blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. 18 In your seed ALL the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

Thank you Abraham for your obedience.  But really thank you Jesus.  The same promise given to Abraham was repeated and given to his son Isaac.  Those in faith will receive this blessing and ultimately all will come to faith and will confess Jesus as Lord.

GEN 26:4 And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed ALL the nations of the earth shall be blessed

After Jacob wrestled with God in unbelief and his eyes opened,  the same blessing came upon him.  God gave this promise to Jacob in a dream and upon awakening he could now see spiritually (Gen 28:16).  Here was the promise.

Genesis 28:14 Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed ALL the families of the earth shall be blessed.

The Scriptures foretell of these promises throughout.  I believe them and there is no confusion any more on what the word “ALL” means in these promises.  God is God and His power and wisdom have no boundaries.  I pray all will stand firm on the promises of God and come into the covenant of faith, knowing of this blessed hope for all humanity.  It will change your life when you see it.  If you believe not that God can raise dead people, physically and spiritually and breathe new life into them,  you believe not the gospel and not in Christ and are still in your sins.

Christ has risen and rules and reigns today from the heavens.  Through Adam we all came into sin but through Christ,  all will come into eternal life in the order and sequence that God ordains.

1 COR 15:22-26  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. 24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.

Death will be destroyed for ALL in the very end.  Believe it.  God spoke it.  We can all look forward to this glorious day when all knees shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.  God is good and His mercies endure forever!  Hallelujah.

Carnal man will not believe these promises and the absolute power of God.  Such a man will believe that God’s purposes can be circumvented by God’s creation.  It is really ridiculous when one comes to see the depth of the deception in the church today.  Many of you continue to call God a liar in your unbelief.  It is you who do not believe that need to repent and turn your heart to God and trust what He has promised.  Only in His mercy can you come to Him.

ISA 46:10  Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure

God’s get His will done.  All that pleases Him is done.  He delights in mercy and loves to turn enemies into friends.    His pleasure, all of it gets done regardless of what the piece of clay thinks.  I am so glad that God has saved us all rather than leaving it to us to do it.

I am going to believe God and His promises knowing that all that was spoken will come to pass.  It will not depend on the will of man in any way shape or form.  In the end, God has the complete and total victory over sin. His grace wins out.  Praises to the King.  I leave you with a excerpt from a Pslam.

Psalm 66:3-5

“How awesome are Your works!  AMEN – tis all the work of the POTTER
Through the greatness of Your power
Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.
ALL  the earth shall worship You
And sing praises to You;
They shall sing praises to Your name
