PSALM 5 1
Yes, that the light of Christ , the holy spirit working through us by our faith in Christ.
Faith produces works and the righteousness of Christ is seen is us by our actions.
We are a new creature, a new creation now called the sons and daughters of God.
And our righteousness is of God. For we are made the righteousness of God in Christ.
Wherein our faith is seen by evidence of our works, and the fruits of the spirit.
Where we are no longer only hearers ,but doers of the law. Written not on stone tablets………oh but upon the heart. Eyes to see and ears to hear.
And this is all by the grace of God. Grace which teaches us to deny ungodliness, to live righteously and holy in this present world. Reedeming the time……….for these days be filled with evil. Oh, may the light of Christ shine within and unto those in darkness. Oh may they see our works and glorify God on the day of visitation.
Such beauty in the written word of God……….when we have the true inner light by which to see, that is to truly live by every word of GOd. Oh what praises ought we sing unto the Lord.
How could one ever claim to be righteous apart from Christ. Such deception.
For my righteous acts would but filthy rags of adultery, fornication and much more the likes of such. What a merciful God to by his grace alone pull me from these unholy, muderous acts of vengeance, and all filthiness. And to call me to the Kingdom of his dear son.
None will ever desreve grace…………none. our price was paid in full by christ.
Now let us day by day have works worthy of repentence, and to labour on in his works based by his strength. By our own strength we but fail misereably. By our own understanding we be but lost . Oh, but by the power of Christ within, in him all things are possible. Lets all sing aloud to our Lord for his continued mercies an compassions upon us. Knowing his grace is truly suffcient unto us, let us abide in Christ and He in us.
Who alone but God is worthy, who alone but God is good. So let us carry on in his grace, and the only goodness we have. Whereby in him we are counted just, made righteous and have our hope of eternal salvation. Sing aloud lambs of the risen savoir Christ Jesus.
Sing aloud the praises due his name. Delivered for our offences…………..Raised again for our justification. Now entered into the Holiest of Holies, to intercede on our behalf.
What a great high priest…….who abides continually for us. He has conquered death and him that had the power of death,,,,,satan. Fear none but God. Who has power to cast unto hell after the body be killed. Let us give and show mercy unto the poor.
Lets us cast aside all ungodly material, sin , and utter false rubbish. May our affections be above in Heaven. People this ole world of evil and darkness is not my home.
We are on a journey through a strange land, wherein they will think us odd that we are not like them. Oh, but by his light do we see, and by his continued grace in Christ one day shall we be home. Work out thy salvation with fear and trembling…….and pass the time of your sourjeoining here in fear. Remember it is God who gives us the desire and ability in christ to have works and work them out we shall.
All honor, all glory, all exalation and praise is due his name.
Every knee shall bow to Christ all to the glory of the Father.
Be blessed lambs.
Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction?Ja. 2:21-25
Faith is about self-denying, to love God above all, this is the same with us when Jesus came we believed that he was sent by God as Lord… our hope to those who seek God. It will be our righteousness same with Abraham that is why he is the father of all of us. But as believers we have to be obedient to the words, that is our act of righteousness…
James said faith without works are no good.
James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
The works that James is speaking of is doing the will of the Father. If we do not do God’s will we have not true faith but are only deceived. Vs 17 has a 2 in it (faith and works) this would be either 2 factions of evil, or 2 witnesses. the 2 witness are always in unity and become one, the 2 factions of evil are always divided. In this case vs 17 is speaking of the 2 witnesses because they are joined together as ONE. Verse 20 declares with out the works of the God in you that that type of faith is dead (it is a false faith with no life in it)
Here is a simple example: the OT and NT are 2 witnesses who are at one and in harmony with each other. Thus they become on bible. Bible is just a another word for book “biblos” , the word bible came into existance about 700 years ago.
7 things are built upon faith in 2 Peter 1-5. All 7 of these things are of the will of the God and are HOLY in HIS sight. As a Christian grows in first act being faith, then these 7 works are formed in him. (Christ be formed in you) When we submit to the Lord and allow these 7 works of God to manefest through us we then become “8″ a new creature in Christ. The sabbath rest is to seize from doing our own works, and inter into HIS sabbath rest by doing the works of the Father. We stop doing our own will, and do the will of the Father. Satan will always use our flesh to convince us to partake of our own will, which is the works of man, those works arre in vain.. Thus by doing the works of our own will then our faith is dead and is only a carnal illusion of faith. Satan deceives us with a house of mirrors.
2 Peter 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
The works that we do are of the abundance of our heart. The Good Samaritan did the works of the Father, and the Pharisees did the works of the flesh (their own will). Matthew 25 31-46 describes the “GWTJ” of these who do the will of the Father, and those who do not the will of the father.
The ones who do not Gods will are in the books with an “s” Rev 20, but the ones who do the will of God are written in the book of life with no “s” in Rev 20.
Hope this helps in your understanding. Seek the Holy spirit in all matters.

Heres another thing Mindy.
Let our faith be only in God.
Let us not trust in material things peroid.
Let us look at the sufferings of Job. Who lost not only all riches, but family.
Yet only said………..the good Lord gives and the good Lord takes away.
And remember too……….that all those God loves he chastens.
In fact if we be without chasetisement……….then bastards and not sons we are.
See how badly the prosperity churchs have fallen.
They would say things like Give to the church and have abundance.
Give to us and thy daughter shall be healed etc.
I stand against their lies with every breath i take.
When did our Lord tell the blind man……………….first give to the church and then you shall see. Or to the daughters father…………….first give me tribute and she shall live.
Get real. It has and always been based upon Gods mercy and our faith in Christ.
I by no means tell us not to be givers. But dont ever give to those rich churches.
Or poverty awaits. Being poor towards God is what i speak of.
Remember these wholesome words of christ……………..who said give these things no thought. So i dont . And instead just seek the Kingdom of God and his righteousness.
And i have not lacked. Only……………be content with your food and clothes.
And by all means if you have a need…………………ask true christians…..who ought not just say go be blessed , ask God and be warm. And give them nothing.
They fail to see God works through us to give to those in need.
That any with abundance ………..it is meant only for those who lack. And when the other may have need it is given back by them. That there be an equality amongst us.
The early church knew…………the true treasures were above. This is why they came together, took joyfully the spoiling of thier goods knowing they had a better and enduring substance above in Christ
May none of us ever again read a single book of theirs. This leads to confusion.
Satan has more wisdom than any man.
Yet he cannot even come close to Gods true wisdom. Remember Satans wisdom is in league with the heart , flesh, and carnal mind of man. We cannot defeat him through our own understanding. But must trust and live by every word of God.
I call for a immediate ceasing of reading any of their material ever again.
Instead let us just read the holy word.
This age is the greatest falling away ever seen.
And if they do not follow wholeheartedly only God……….not the world.
Then their understanding will remain darkened. And what they teach can darken the understanding of others.
Paul and others were adamant of speaking out against and not allowing false doctrines , other gosples inot the church.
So lets not allow them in our minds by reading this nonsense they spew out.
Remeber too………..satan approaches through scriptures as he did Christ.
But his understanding is darkned for he has no truth in him. As are the false aposltels of him. And by believing them it will cause us to err in one way or another.
I warn us all…………….like a brother in CHrist…….and one too who has read where it says warn them. Warn them lest they be lost and their blood be upon my hands.
I warn us all………………..put down the filth of the false gosples and pick up the truth of the true an only gosple…………….inspired not by man,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but by God, the Holy Spirit.
This is the written word. Pete you must help me with this. Begin telling them the same thing.
And anyone else who wants to join me in this.
Let us all stand in one body, the body of Christ and get our info only from the written word of God………….guided by the Holy Spirit within.
The time of great apostacy is upon us. We must stand firmly planted in thetruth……….or perish too we shalll.
We must continue on in his grace……………looking diligentely lest we too fail of his grace.
Today is the day we begin anew in Christ. Yesterday is gone.
Today is theday we serve our Lord with the whole heart.
ANd love one another as Christ loves the church.
Paul , help me with this too. The more of us saying this the better.
Soon all will throw away all books written of man in a false prosperity gospel.
ANd pick up the Holy written word of God.
@Mindy We are saved by faith but not judged by faith. Faith begets righteousness, doing good works and being led by the Holy Spirit. God is merciful and forgives us when we stumble and make a mistake. He forgives us our sins as we forgive all others that sin against us. We reap what we sow. You want mercy, sow mercy. This is why it is a heart gospel, only God can see into the heart of man. We are judged by the intentions of our heart. Yet it also says we are judged by our deeds. Love God with all your heart and neighbor as yourself and in so doing we fulfill 100% of the law. Paul said to aim for perfection 2 Cor 13. Perfection must be our aim in our heart, if it is not, then we have an idol in our heart that we love more than God. The love of God is to obey His commandments. Why would we call Jesus Lord and not want/love to do what He says and obey Him? (Luke 6:46). So do not live in condemnation. When you sin, if you have the Spirit of God you will be convicted of it. Confess it before God, go to the throne and lay it down and He will wash you (1 John 1:8-9). That is the benefit of being in covenant but it is not a license to sin. If that is how we view God’s grace, we are just deceived and are pretending obedience to the Lord (Psalm 81:15). THe new covenant says God will write His laws on our hearts and our lawless deeds He will remember no more. But to receive this blessing and forgiveness we must continue to walk in His covenant.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart
Romans 2:5-11 But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS: 7 to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; 8 but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation. 9 There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek, 10 but glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 11 For there is no partiality with God.
Luke 12:2-3: “There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.”
The sons of God are led by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14). A works salvation is any other way of trying to entering the kingdom except being led by the Holy Spirit. If we are led by the Spirit of God we will be led into all righteousness and our deeds will be wrought in God.
I have one quick question, Pete. If our deeds judge us on judgment day and not our faith in Christ, then is that a works salvation? I am confused on this. I do highly believe that ‘faith without works is dead’ and that would prove one has faith, but is that not putting our deeds, what we do, above our faith in what Christ has done? I would appreciate any clarification. God bless!
Hello Pete, Emelio and others. Here is the truth. The most dangerous thing occuring today was prophesied when Paul warned tiimothy, when Christ warned the disicples of things to come. It was actually prophesied that many wouldnt endure sound doctrine. They will be led by a sensual spirit,. So the problem with today is I see, so many “hearin Jesus” but yet what they have “heard from JEsus” dont add at all with scriptures……………. R we seeing the problem. Its a sensual, fleshly spirit. an anti christ spirit. This is why Paul tells timothy, study scriptures. Take heed unto thyself(which means keep that body under subjection, fight aainst flesh etc) and , and unto the doctrine. For you shall save both thyself and them that hear thee. Or how about the scriptures which make one wise unto salvation.
I stand against this seducing spirit, religious spirit, fleshly spirit, with every ounce of every breath i take. It is false and is of Satan. Remember we live by every word of God. Not every other, not some…………..Every. Jesus is the word of GOd. And God filled men with the holy spirit , they were moved and spoke. This is written and recorded in the Bible.
I aint never seen a falling away from sound doctrine, true faith, etc in all my days.
Time enough. Istand against , and hate every false way. I ran from churches etc. Like Jonah i have run, But now its time to warn. For our GOd is a GOd of mercy and he grants repentence unto us. So my warning today……………………start reading the word. ANd read it like your heads on fire and your shoulders r catchin. Cause it will open your eyes, it will make you wise unto salvation. I come against this seducing spirit in the name of Christ, and the Lord rebuke that spirit straight to the depths of hades. I pray we all read more, pray more, Do all things pleasing unto our Lord. Kameme, thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let us love God with all our hart, and let us love one another as christ loves the church. May we be longsufferng, and may we save some with compassion, otheres with fear, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Time enough. Time enough. Yall be blessed.
Randall, the doctrine about righteousness is missed by most of the preachers today and not even teach, how to become righteous in God’s sight.
When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, “I
tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.
I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take
their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of
heaven. But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the
darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Mt. 8:10-12
Many will take their places at the feast along with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Along with them who lived in faith. Those who are causing divisions which
results different denominations and sects are the subjects. Because of lack
of understanding they are being deceived on what they believed. Paul
teachings came from the Lord and not only by himself. It was revealed to him
that we should should imitate Abraham, Isaac and Jacob’s faith and be
included in God’s nation. We are circumcised together with them not in the
flesh but circumcission of the heart. If we are following the teachings of
the apostles, we are on the right path. Abraham faith is always included to
their letters that will lead us to the truth and righteousness.
Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness. (Ge.
15:6)
Abraham believed in God, and this credited to him as righteuosness. It will
be credited to us as righteousness as well if believed in the testimonies of
the apostles.
That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in
your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is
with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth
that you confess and are saved. Ro. 10:9-10
This will be credited to us as well righteousness the same thing Abraham did.
If we believed in God that he raised Christ from the dead and believed that
Jesus is sent by God being the Lord and saviour from the coming wrath. We
have to believed with all our heart to the image of the unseen God which is
Christ. But faith without action is a dead faith, our action is not to follow
the way of the world, to put a new self. Everthing in the scriptures is
written to teach us by following the men of faith. That their lives were not
important to them only to do the will of God.
Jn. 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
Until this day I do not listen to other preachers but only to the apostles of
the Lord. We have to test every spirit and teachings if they are from God.
Paul, advice Timothy and to the early churches to follow his examples,
teachings and faith, as he followed the Lord. He also said, the God of peace
will be with you. After the apostles are gone the savage wolves came which is
also the beast. The beasts are still prowling after they are gone to the
world and devouring everywhere.
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1Jn. 4:
Ph. 4:9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or
seen in me — put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not
spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the
truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard!
Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and
day with tears. (Ac. 20:29-31)
Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without
holiness no-one will see the Lord. (He. 12:14)
This is what the apostles of the Lord commanded us as an act of faith resulted by obedience to be holy and blameless.
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world — the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does — comes not from the Father but from the world. 1Jn. 2:15-16
To the believers, there are signs…
And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”Mk. 16:17-18
They will speak in new tongues – in which believers will speak in parables
and non-believers will not understand. They will pick-up snakes – which are
the brood of vipers. We are in the midst of venomous snakes, those who are
bitten accepted their teachings.
Emilio……………..I might just add………these people had seen the glory of God.
And………who is the glory of GOD ………..Jesus. Look at Israel, the remnant. those called.
They all believed in what? The coming of a Messiah, that was going to save Israel from her sins. But i might just add………….they belived that. Gotta believe to recieve. And how does one even believe………………………..Grace. Again i say to GOd be all the Glory!!!!!!!
aint us people,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Tis by grace, and that in Christ. No other way. LEt us all be of the same mind. And that mind…………..of Christ.
Be blessed.
Oh its so awesome people, Carol look furthur into psalms 18 He says how he is able to be so.
v 28 For thou will light my candle; the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness;
29 For BY THEE i have run through a troop, and by my God i leaped over a wall. Look at that, he knew it was all by Grace. By the God given power, ability , will to walk as he did. That just shows us all………………..Praise his name. its all by Grace.
Even Noah was given Grace. Elect. Wow, isnt GOd good to us. So lets all praise his name.
Heres another moment to give al praises to God. Look at this wonderful truth.
IF we are of him, then it is because he indwells us, and gives us the will and the ability to walk as he did. So do we continue in him or do we go back to the world. Tis a choice.
Thus it is all by grace………….but watch out, for one can fail of the grace of God . When we choose the world and its pleasures , we fail. But if we continue in him and he in us until the end………..life eternal. Tis all by Grace, so none can boast………..but one can fall, or fail of Grace…………. . So the question is………..whom do you choose. and whom do you choose to follow………….every minute of every hour of every day etc. Oh yes……….TOday is the day. so everytime you hear his voice…………harden not your heart. REad the word, and then be obediant unto what is taught. To GOd be all glory!!!!!!
I love in the psalms where on numerous occasions David makes clear his only righteousness , salvatiion etc is from God. Aint that just awesome. We cant take a psalm out of text. Read them all. Oh read even all of Job. Trust this……….the only way to be righteous is to be hidden in Christ. Cause……….aint nonone good…. no not one. But God alone. Dig deep Read, test all things with the word of God. Ecc 7.20 psalm 14 psalm 53 romans 3 verse 10 verse 23. That will show us just how good we are. Now run to Christ so we may be counted worthy , made righteouss, obtain salvation. Run, dont walk, run. FOr there is no other name where by we may be saved. OH, here it comes to GOd be all the glory. May we never fail to recognize the deity of CHrist. When we do……….we fail miseralbly to give God the glory. Christ is the glory of God. May we all sing together in unity To GOd be all the Glory, praise , exaltation. honor, thanksgiving. What a God of love to save ones like us……….. Sing it people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, yeah Immanuel, God with us. For it was always going to have to be GOd to save his creation . ANother mighty shout to our Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Da. 10:12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first
day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to
humble yourself before your God, your words were heard,
and I have come in response to them.
Zep. 2:3 Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, you who do
what he commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility;
perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the LORD’s
anger
God gave understand and knowledge to those who earnestly seek Him.
He. 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because
anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that
he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Pete
Just got a chance to fellowship with you again. It’s true that we have to think of God every minute of our lives, his commands and practice it as the Lord commanded. That we are an alien in this life and hoping for a better life which is in heaven which is the reason we want to stay holy as the Lord is holy. Nobody will see God unless we are holy like little children.
Yes Emilio. I get that more and more every day. Humility is an area I am still lacking. If we become proud, we are easy prey for an enemy that has come to kill, steal and destroy. I have been thru this more times recently.
Just a brotherly reminder Pete, we should always humble ourselves before God and no to carried away easily. As Paul reminded Timothy about the overseer that he must not be recent convert.. think about it.
Yes Peter warned us that some of Paul’s letter are hard to understand. That’s why we have listen very carefully.
I know that the Lord will reward or either condemn us base on our deeds in the day of judgment. So we have to listen carefully and so what he commands us.
By the way about the born again issue its is that we have to be born again by the spirit. It catch my attention because here my country (Philippines) there is a denomination of Born Again. As we know the Lord came not to establish sect and denomination but to save people.
I thank God for the Apostle Paul. He did the will of God and left a testimony that lives and speaks to us this very day. But we also must be careful not to twist Paul’s words, just as our beloved Peter told us that men would do in 2 Peter 3:14-19. Paul went into some deep mysteries of God and his words do not contradict the words of Jesus and the other Apostles or any of the Prophets. In fact Paul’s words confirm what Jesus said directly and thru His prophets. So what I am saying is don’t make a gospel out of Romans 4 or 5 or Ephesians 2:8 and ignore the rest. It is the selective application of some of Paul’s writings, spun into error that led me on my own search for the truth which was the genesis for this blog.
Pete I hope we can fellowship more often.
Here is one thing to tell you if you will accept it about what I understand.
You see there is nobody today preaching today in the Lord’s behalf but only in the scripture. Now nobody can claim they are from God except they are doing what apostles of Lord is doing. But there is still one who sent by the Lord to reached us to this very day. It is Paul sent by the Lord Jesus Christ as the true faith to the Gentiles. As much as I understand he still preaching and teaching today through his epistles which lead us to the truth.
As written, “Go! This man is my chose instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel. (Ac. 9:15).
But what is Paul you will ask? “What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe — as the Lord has assigned to each his task.” (1Co. 3:5)
As the Lord said, “I tell you the truth, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.”( Jn. 13:20)
Also, And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle— I am telling the truth, I am not lying — and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles.(1Ti. 2:8)
Even though I may not be an apostle to others, surely I am to you! For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. (1Co. 9:2)
Paul as the teacher of true faith of the Gentiles sent by Jesus Christ by the will of God still speaks to us through the scripture with pure love.
He is also the apostle of this last days which are in the scriptures.
Yes Emilio, we too can be holy and blameless before the Lord. This is not an impossible mission or goal as indeed that must be our aim if Jesus is really our Lord. Thank God however for His mercy, in that if we confess our sins to Him, He will forgive us and cleanse us anew. It always comes back to what is in your heart. If you think practicing sin matters not, you are deceived. If you strive to be holy yet stumble, you are forgiven if you confess that sin from the heart and get right back and go and sin no more.
May I add, before Christ was reveiled, righteousness are already attained by other people. Enoch, Noah, Abraham (father of faith), Isaac, Jacob, David, Rahab and many others. They attained righteousness as an example for us who believed in God that he raised Jesus Christ from the dead (which proved that there will be the ressurection of the dead) and believing in Jesus as Lord, the Son of God that will save us.
That is our righteousness before God which means we are forgiven to our sin also sacrificial blood of Jesus.
That’s why the people in the early church called saints (holy, which can be call also in the present people who attained righteousness.
I agree totally with the words of Paul here in Romans. But they must be taken into context of the whole of scripture. We are justified by faith absolutely but there is so much more to the gospel than that. Jesus said he will not judge us but the words he said will judge us on the last day. So I would be careful to intepret an epistle in a way that directly contradicts the words of Jesus. I just put up my last post THE WORDS OF JESUS that I highly recomment you read.
The doctrine of grace has been twisted and perverted. We are saved by grace as we can never save ourselves. Nobody comes to the father unless He draws us. Furthermore he does this “has mercy on who he will have mercy” on who HE ALONE chooses. I get that. But to say that obedience doesnt matter and that obedience is something we do of our own is false and not what I believe or teach. Faith begins our walk with God but if we don’t add to our faith obedience are faith is phony. If we obey but have no faith, we are told it is impossible to pleased God. Both Faith and Obedience (DEEDS, WORKS) are required. But we are never told we will be judged on our faith, we are told we will judged by our deeds against the very words of Jesus.
We don’t obey to be saved we obey because we are already saved to stay saved. If we dont obey, we perish, your faith will not save you if not combined with obedience. Listen to the words of Jesus, the very words that will judge us. We don’t even obey on our own power. We can only obey thru the power of grace. God gives us his spirit if we are truly His. The role of spirit is to guide us and convict us of sin. We are told in several places that we can resist temptation, not of our own power or might but BY HIS SPIRIT.
I love Romans, a book of hope and promise. But Paul had many other things he said that must be taken in context. Here are 3 quick ones off the top of my head.
Romans 2:12 If we sin apart from the law, we perish apart from the law. We still perish if we keep on sinning with or without faith.
Romans 2:13 If is the doers of the law (those that obey) who are declared righteous not just those that hear (beleive) the law. This is totally consistent with what Jesus and all the other Apostles said.
Romans 6:14 The wages of sin is death. God has never changed the rules for life. The new covenant just gave us the means to defeat sin. That is the EUREKA point that most people have not figured out or had it revealed to them
Jesus did not come to abolish the law whatsoever. Obedience to his commands is still required. Thankfully he not only gave us the power to obey with his spirit but he also gave us repentance, a way to re-reconciled and cleanses anew when we stumble. But we cannot play religion, John told us that If we are truly born again we CANNOT practice sin. If we are practicing sin, we are not Born Again.
Jesus came not to excuse sin, but to defeat sin. John called it the works of the devil. God has never taken away our free will. We are given the choice to obey or not obey, choose life or choose death. As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord.
Jesus takes away the sin, by forgiving us our past sins and giving us the means to obey him going forward. That is the gospel plain and simple. GOD BLESS YOU
True and correct but do not make the mistake and extrapolate that the imputed righteousness of Christ applies to future sins. It does not unless such sins are confessed and we are cleansed anew. If we do not confess such sins, we are taking pleasure in the sin, practicing sin and our are not walking in faith. Therefore our faith is in vain, and we worship Christ with our lips only. If you don’t see this truth, one would make a mockery of the words of Jesus and the whole of scripture.
Romans 3:24-26 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed
Psalm 18:20-24 (New International Version)
20 The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness;
according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.
21 For I have kept the ways of the LORD;
I have not done evil by turning from my God.
22 All his laws are before me;
I have not turned away from his decrees.
23 I have been blameless before him
and have kept myself from sin.
24 The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness,
according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.
In the Old Testament, Israel could know God’s moral will for his people through the laws set forth in the covenant made at Mt. Sinai. Exodus 20-24, Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 4-11. If David lived in a manner consistent with these covenant stipulations, then he could legitimately speak of his righteousness.
David was not perfect in all his actions – a fact he readily acknowledged in Psalm 51. But while it is a great sin to violate God’s law, the covenant provided a means by which confession, repentance, restitution and restoration to the community could take place. The sacrificial system outlined in Leviticus 1-7 provided the Israelites a process to make amends with God and their neighbors when they sinned. But more important than even sacrifice is a humble and penitent heart that casts itself entirely on the mercy of God (Psalm 51:1, 16, 17).
Psalm 51 (New International Version)
1 Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;
you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
17 The sacrifices of God are [a] a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart,
O God, you will not despise.
When we do this, God imputes righteousness to us – that is he credits the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ to us as mentioned in 2 Corinthians 5:21.
2 Corinthians 5:21 21God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
How are we justified?
To be justified means to be made right. Paul’s great question was “How is a sinful human being made right with a holy God?” Even if we could follow the law and live perfectly, we would still not be right with God. Adam’s sin as mentioned in Romans 5:12 (12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned) involved the rest of humanity in condemnation in verse 18-19 ( 18Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. 19For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.) and death in verse 15 (15But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!). We do not start life with even the possibility of living it sinlessly; we begin it with a sinful nature. There are many verses to reference here (Genesis 8:21, Psalms 51:5, 58:3, Ephesians 2:3).
Yet God created us for a relationship with him. So he took the initiative to make the relationship right. In Jesus Christ he does for us what we could never do for ourselves: Jesus lived a wholly righteous life-a perfect life in line with the law, in total relationship with the Father. Even more, in Jesus God took upon himself all the punishment our disobedience deserves (Romans 3:24 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.). At the cross he fulfilled all that righteousness demanded. His life was given in exchange for ours; his blood paid the price for our justification.
The results of Jesus’ sacrifice are personally available to us simply by faith. God has done everything required to justify us. All that remains is for us to receive the grace of God shown on the cross. We are justified when we stop trying to justify ourselves and depend completely on the finished work of Jesus Christ.
