Jesus Explained The Most Important Parable
What you don’t know might just destroy you.
Mark 4:13 - Do you not understand this parable? How will you understand all the parables?
Jesus spoke these words to His followers right after speaking the Parable of the Sower, also known as the Parable of the Word to the great crowds and multitudes of people. There is a profound message in this parable that is written in simple metaphoric language. If you don’t truly understand the Parable of the Sower, Jesus said you will not be able to understand all the other parables that are in the Holy Scriptures. So my friends, it is terribly important therefore that this parable be understood in its fullest meaning. The church today by and large does not understand this parable and they are blind as bats to the rest of them also. The deceived fallen away church does not know the living God. They are ever learning but never able to come to knowledge of the truth.
What this parable is really about is something the fallen church does not want to talk about. It is a taboo topic and you will know why at the end of this post. The key takeaways of this parable are all about our enemy, the powers of darkness and how they would wage war against the brethren to steal and pervert the WORD of God from our hearts. The powers of darkness have been astonishingly successful in keeping the people of God with hardened hearts and filled with spiritual blindness. Perhaps some escaping to the true light will read this and know they are on the right path out of Babylon and onto the narrow Highway of Holiness. I pray your eyes will be opened. If a Christian lets the powers of darkness steal the WORD out of their heart, they will have no light and will not know the way that leads to righteousness.
Psalm 119 - Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path
This parable and the interpretation Jesus gave privately to His followers is provided below. Please realize that Jesus gave the understanding ONLY to His followers, the multitudes did not get the understanding. It works the same way today. If you love God with all your heart, He will reveal the Scriptures to you. If you walk in rebellion to God and His covenant, you will not understand and you will not be given eyes to see or ears to hear.
Mark 4:10-12 As soon as He was alone, His followers, along with the twelve, began asking Him about the parables. 11And He was saying to them, “To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but those who are outside get everything in parables (and will be BLIND) …
You see, only God’s Disciples that are IN COVENANT with Him will be given the mysteries of the Kingdom. Everyone else is on the outside. Jesus continued……
SO THAT WHILE SEEING, THEY MAY SEE AND NOT PERCEIVE, AND WHILE HEARING, THEY MAY HEAR AND NOT UNDERSTAND, OTHERWISE THEY MIGHT RETURN AND BE FORGIVEN.
Now maybe one can truly grasp the importance of knowing Christ, hearing His voice and truly being Born Again of a repentant heart. When the church focuses on Bible Studies, buildings and boasts in membership counts and sows a corrupted seed that cuts out us having to go to the cross with Jesus — true disciples are not made and there will be NO UNDERSTANDING of the mysteries and truth of God’s Word.
The Parable of The Word
Mark 4:4 – “Listen to this! Behold, the sower went out to sow; 4as he was sowing, some seed fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate it up.
The WORD is sown to those standing near the road (v14), this road being the Highway to Holiness. The WORD leads the people of God to get onto this road, the lies will lead you away. The cross is the way. When the people hear this WORD, Satan IMMEDIATELY comes and takes the WORD away that has been sown into the hearts of the people. It hasn’t changed!
Mark 4:15 - These are the ones who are beside the road where the word is sown; and when they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word which has been sown in them
So we see here, the birds are the powers of darkness which encompasses Satan and his demons; a mighty army that accomplishes the purposes of the Lord Jesus Christ. The congregation in the Babylon churches are famished. The WORD that feeds their souls has been stolen and instead they are fed bad bread that points them to a false Jesus which is really the image of the beast. There is great spiritual famine in the land in these last days. The seed of truth is being stolen.
Mark 4:5-6 Other seed fell on the rocky ground where it did not have much soil; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of soil. And after the sun had risen, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
Other people receive the WORD but have not firm root in their heart. They have not really turned to the Lord, they wanted to simply add Jesus and stay in the world. Their hearts remain rocky and hardened. When the trials and tribulations come, they resort to their flesh and do not trust in the Lord. Their faith is phony.
Mark 4:16-17 - In a similar way these are the ones on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy; 17and they have no firm root in themselves, but are only temporary; then, when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they fall away.
Here we see two of Satan’s schemes to bring the furnace of fire (testing and heat) to God’s people to steal the WORD out of their heart. The Powers of Darkness bring affliction (sickness, disease) and persecution (mocking, scoffing, and ridicule). These trials foster unbelief in the hearts of professing Christians who deep down doubt God and His promises to heal them and protect them. They do not understand the war they are in and are easily deceived and shaken off the Rock Eternal. Without a firm root, when these trials come, people will shrink back from the WORD and will ultimately be destroyed by the enemy, unless they repent with their whole heart.
Hebrews 10:38 - BUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH; AND IF HE SHRINKS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM
Luke’s version of this Parable says those with the rocky hearts “believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away”. There is no Once Saved Always Saved, we must endure all the way to end, otherwise you will shrink back and BE DESTROYED BY THE DESTROYERS.
Mark 4:7 – Other seed fell among the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked it, and it yielded no crop.
Other people receive the WORD but then like Lot’s wife, they turn their hearts back into the world. They worry about the same things the world worries about, they are deceived by a lust for money and they are consumed with covetousness. Like the Israelites in the wilderness, they want to return to Egypt in their hearts.
Mark 4:18-19 - And others are the ones on whom seed was sown among the thorns; these are the ones who have heard the word, 9but the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful
So here are three more of Satan’s schemes to add to the prior two. If anyone turns their hearts to pursue these worldly and fleshly lusts, they become an enemy of the Lord. God will send His chosen instruments of righteous judgment, the powers of darkness, to bring judgment and turn the hearts of the people back to Him. That is the a god kind of love that those in Babylon cannot comprehend. Yet the church teaches lies such as OSAS that keeps the people in ignorance and in bondage to the enemy.
James 4:4 - do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God
The WORD of GOD can only take root and bear fruit where there is good soil that has been properly prepared. Our hearts are the land spoken of in Scripture. Good soil is fertile, it is fallow land, it has been tilled and the rocks removed by true sincere repentance. If one does not repent, their hearts remain hardened and as we saw above, the WORD will not take root and be able to stand the trials and tribulations brought by the powers of darkness. But of course true repentance and the fleshly suffering that will result is not taught in Babylon.
Mark 4:8 – Other seeds fell into the good soil, and as they grew up and increased, they yielded a crop and produced thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.”
When we get this WORD into our hearts of fertile soil, we will yield a good and bountiful crop. The WORD of God will not fail. The fruits will be evident and the true brethren will be multiplied by sowing good seed in turn into the world and where God has prepared someone’s heart, they will receive this WORD and Jesus will give the increase and build His Church just the way He said He would. That is true discipleship as workers in God’s field. The parable ends with a warning and a consequence about what we do with this WORD that has been sown into our hearts.
Mark 4:24-25 Take care what you listen to. By your standard of measure it will be measured to you; and more will be given you besides. 25“For whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.”
The real underlying message of this parable is the workings of our enemy that comes to kill, steal and destroy the WORD of God and our souls. This enemy has kept the professing church “in the world” and not set apart as a peculiar people. The enemy lies coming from most pulpits say we can serve two masters and don’t need to go to the cross and DIE. The devil has stolen and perverted the truth. Many souls have perished and God’s people continue to be destroyed. I pray more of you will wake up to this great apostasy and repent and go tell your neighbors. The teachers in Babylon are feeding off the sin of the people. They are doing violence to the truth and replacing the good seed of God with a seed from their master the powers of darkness.
Hosea 4:6 - My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because you have rejected knowledge. There is no fear of God in the land!
I hope it is becoming obvious to those with eyes to see and ears to hear that the reason the Babylon Churches don’t teach about what this parable is really speaking about is because these very churches are infested with demons and controlled by the powers of darkness. Yes, that is right I am sorry to say, but God said it. The angel cries out with a mighty voice …..
Revelation 18:2 – Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird
These are the same birds spoken about in the Parable of the Sower that come and eat up the true WORD that is sown. The thief has come to kill, steal and destroy the WORD OF GOD and has done it right under the nose of the church.
This is the war that has raged in the background that most professing Christians have zero awareness about and have not been taught how to fight. They have not put on the Lord Jesus Christ with HIS WEAPONS and outside of saying some words with their lips, have not the power of the Holy Spirit working in them to fight this battle. They have been overcome by deceit and the God Sent deluding influence of the demons who have captured their hearts with a false gospel and the traditions of men. Oh how great the apostasy.
2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, 12in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness
WAKE UP MY BROTHERS & SISTERS. UNDERSTAND THIS PARABLE SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THE REST OF THEM.
The spirit of the Satan is working in the sons of disobedience today yet the church does not even acknowledge the basic tenants of this most important parable. They have no eyes to see it. I have spoken the truth of God’s WORD in this post. If you are offended by this truth, I ask that you prayerfully consider what spirit is arousing your offense? I say this out of love because all of us have been there my friend at one time. But then the Lord in His mercy and grace came and opened our eyes. He choose us and has called us for His purposes. Jesus can set you free from the birds and get the seed planted deep into your heart. But you must seek deliverance from a problem that you need to admit is a problem. Cry out to Him in repentance and you shall be delivered. I hope you are beginning to understand some things. You do not want to be in the majority crowd of “Many” that Jesus said would not have a clue and would become victims.
Matthew 24:39 - and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be
Another good one. Heres what is so simple even a child can grasp. A child of God that is.
IF Jesus said it. Just believe it. He is truth. Truth will never change.
Thus when he says in the Dont worry about these things. Nor give them any thought.
I know without a doubt he is truth. He cannot lie. It is impossible for Christ to lie.
So as he made clear Rather seek ye the kingdom of God and his righteousness and ye shall have these things ……so i do.
I want you all to just live by every word of GOd. Trust every word of GOd.
HE said not to worry , he clothes the fields he will us.
He says not to worry he feeds the sparrows he will us.
Thus dont give them any thought. I have never asked material things, because i trust him at his word, not what my flesh may think.
I serve a God that will never abandon nor forsake me. Godliness with contentment is great gain. Thus i am content with food and clothes.
Again how i tell you, this will bring you the peace that passes all understanding.
After seeking, i finally came to the rock and was broken. Surrender to him. Trust him at his every word. You too will see, when you believe and trust what he says. The worries of tomorrow are gone forever. Because you know, GOd cannot fail, he cannot change. And if he has said we will have as we need. That he feeds sparrows etc, Then he will us too.
Just believe it as a child.
All the cares of the world , the pleasures of this life etc. Are dead for me now.
My abundance is only meant for the lack of another. Take joyfully the spoiling of these persihable goods…. for we truly have an enduring substance above in CHrist forever.
Give to those in need, who cannot repay you. And you shall be recompensed at the day of Ressurection. For me its now all about awaiting his return. Looking diligentely for his return, and waiting patientely for his return. People this world aint our home. It sure as heck aint mine anymore. Mine is in heaven now, and i await the true kingdom to come.
I am dead to this world, its affections, desires of worldy gain, and ambitons.
And as we suffer patiently , more and more, we do understand how it is such gain to depart and be with Christ. This world is dead, its faded into nothing for me .
What a merciful God, towards someone as wicked and vile as i once was. So may we all run bodly every day to Christ , who truly is the only Good of all who believe. The only hope for us all. I just want to let you all know the peace of just truly knowing and seeking just the Lord. Just a hart to please him. All for his Glory , honor , exaltation and praise.

Look at Solomons prayer. The prosperity people have destroyed have not ask not and turned it into the material. But look closely at the prayer of Solomon. The speech pleased God. A prayer of faith , for it pleased God. He too gave him what he asked not for.
With understanding this will come. Trust just what Christ said. dont ever try and reason it out. Just like a child believe it. Amen.

I do no wish to and I will not argue doctrines and disputes (Titus 3:9). This is all driven by the enemy to divide the Body. You are on record saying you disagree with me. Sorry my friend but the birds do represent the powers of darkness stealing the WORD out of people hearts. You can see the birds throughout the prophets and in the book of Revelation. They feast on the people, it is God’s righteous judgments. There are two feasts, the wedding feast and the feast of demons as told us clearly in Ezek 39, Rev 19, Jer 11. The Lord must give you the eyes to see it. Do not be a scoffer and a mocker of such things. The enemy wants you to be ignorant of their schemes and very existence. You need to get into the war or else you will be overcome.
ACTS 13:40 Therefore take heed, so that the thing spoken of in the Prophets may not come upon you: BEHOLD, YOU SCOFFERS, AND MARVEL, AND PERISH; FOR I AM ACCOMPLISHING A WORK IN YOUR DAYS, A WORK WHICH YOU WILL NEVER BELIEVE, THOUGH SOMEONE SHOULD DESCRIBE IT TO YOU
Who do you think the birds are sitting in the big tree that grew up from the mustard seed? They are not blessings. Who or what do you think these unclean birds are assembled in Babylon? The verse tells us, it is the demons aka the powers of darkness.

People need to wake up to the deception and fear the Lord and heed the warning from the angel in Revelation Chapter 14. I fear that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent, many have fallen away and now worship the beast who has exalted himself in the place of the real LORD in the hearts of many. So besides what Jesus said in Luke 8 defining the birds as SATAN and his forces, and the Scriptures I referenced here, I can make a list of very many passages that show who the birds are. I hope you reconsider and do not get stuck in the traditions of men and the literal only intepretation of the Scriptures which in itself is a doctrine of a demon. The Lord is preparing a sacrifice for all the rebellious. He is turning them over to the enemy for destruction.

If you do not understand that the Lord created and controls every move of the enemy, you will never understand the Prophets and the spiritual language that is consistent in the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. I do hope you will pause and seek wisdom from God on this matter. I don’t wish to mock you at all but your comment has proven the point of this post. YOu don’t understand this parable and therefore cannot fully understand all the other parables either.

I do not agree with the ‘definition’ posted here, it is ludicrous from the onset. Where can birds ever be found to represent dark forces? The basic outlining of the entire parable is, seeing and hearing what is meant for self investigation to find truth. Alternatively, They who see, but do not see all , as do they hear but do not listen, it is not selfish as you describe, what would be loving and all true divine wisdom within, holding back from the general population? Youre reading all scripture in parable form, Jesus does not continue the mystery of parable words to the disciples so why do you? when all is read without ‘assumption’ and for what is actually in black and white, the seeds taken by birds are the wandering minds of those not listening, nor seeing the truth. Come on if any thing the dark forces via birds is absolutely ridiculous every seed is a person as the tare is the representing of dark force.

I just want to say it is really great to finally come to a website where people are starting to see the real truth! I can’t put it into words! Is this really happening? lol, it’s like I’ve been alone for so long. There are actually people out here that know the truth, praise God!!!

You’re right about the numbers. I didn’t account for the definition of “fold”. So basically, every Christian, when they get to the point of production, will automatically produce 100%, (because it’s the Holy Spirit working and he doesn’t make anything less than 100%) but as we yield to him, they even have great potential to allow for 300-1000% and beyond?
Thanks Neal, The accountant and finance guy in me sees those numbers being 300%, 600% and 1000%. God can indeed yield a bountiful crop from HIS WORD when it is understood and acted upon by His people.
I agree, its seems that my greatest battles are the ‘cares of this world’.

Is funny how some things don’t bother you, while others send you up the wall with worry.
I know that am not in faith I my heart is trembling at things, and these things are not the things that are going on in the world such as civil unrest, and the plans of evil men, its the little foxes that spoil..small worries such as health of family, lack of fellowship etc.
I have little experience of the ‘peace that passes all understanding’.

Thanks Pete for this. This is encouraging. I was thinking on that parable this morning. I would often see myself, if not careful, being the seed among thorns – being choked up by the cares of this world.
I have to keep my helmet on to prevent my mind from drifting into worrying about what’s going to happen tomorrow. I thank the Lord for bringing me through trials and showing me his awesome provision power. The Lord is truely my shepherd.
This is the word for us and NOT for the world. I would also note, that some of us can go on to produce 30%, 60% and 100% fruit, as the parable suggested in the last part. I wanna produce 100%!
I’ve seen the birds snatch the word away, I’ve seen the scorching sun of persecution kill others, but the biggest and toughest thing is the worries of this world. This is why Jesus said this one last. For these people, they survive immediate deception, they survive persecution, but it’s something about the cares of the is world – let’s exclude the lust of riches – but simply worrying about daily needs, or perhaps trying to find other ways to make ends meet without the leading of God. This is a serious matter.

All the seeds in this parable are in The Church. We were taught in Church this was about the
“world” but this is really about the Church. It’s not different kinds of people in the world, but different kinds of people in the Church. Likewise in Church all the parables were taught as “us in the Church” or “all Christians” vs them outside in the world. The key to understanding all the parables indeed it is. Thanks Pete.
Dear Pete: Thanks for your reply about the 4 horseman videos, I also pray for Jesus to open the eyes, and hearts of people who can’t see. When Jesus went into the synagogue, and thru out the money changers, Judas had set up a meeting for Him with the Saducees, and when Jesus was face to face with their leader Judas spoke to Jesus saying “This man had an open mind, was it good to discourage him, and Jesus told Judas ” Open your eyes, and your heart”. This particular scene can be viewed in the movie “Jesus of Nazereth” with Robert Powell playing the role of Jesus, if anyone has not seen it, I highly recommend that they do. Jesus is the rock that we stand on, and our hearts are the “good soil” once we have truely repented. There will be battles daily, satan is a sore loser. The OSAS doctrine is false, if it were true then why would their even be a “falling away”? If you choose to repent, and follow Jesus, then you will battle the powers of darkness daily, believe me I know. Jesus will not forsake you, if you truely love Him with all your heart, it really isn’t as hard as you may think to Love Jesus, and once you do, well, what the world is doing wont matter, it’s a great feeling, everyone should try it. Jesus will make you strong enough to fight these decieving demons, we can do all things thru Him who strengthens us, Amen. Another Great Post! I agree with your thoughts on this. This reminded me of a post that I did that tried to associate the seed that falls on the path with the rise of the Mega churches. This has an older version of my timeline, and needs some corrections. I was hoping you could take a look and help me correct [or perhaps remove] it.
