Four Winds of Heaven
I want to speak about the winds of heaven which are also known as the storm winds of judgment and tie that into some prophetic passages and end time signs. This post has been on my heart for months and has been difficult to finish but I felt lead to finish it as the time draws near for the Lord’s coming.
Jeremiah 23:19-20 Behold, the storm of the LORD has gone forth in wrath, even a whirling tempest; it will swirl down on the head of the wicked. ”The anger of the LORD will not turn back until He has performed and carried out the purposes of His heart; In the last days you will clearly understand it.
My spirit tells me we are in the very last days. The signs of the end are now coming into view and God is awakening His people. Speaking through Jeremiah, the LORD told us that in the last days, we would clearly understand the storm and anger of the Lord. The mystery of lawlessness is being revealed.
While it may not conform to most people’s image of God, God is an extremely jealous God and He requires our whole heart. Indeed that is the foremost commandment upon which all the law and the prophets hang. Religion and more specifically the fallen Babylon church of the end has provoked God to jealousy by mixing with the world and following and worshipping demons. They have foresaken the LORD.
Exodus 34 – But rather, you are to tear down their altars and smash their sacred pillars and cut down their Asherim 14–for you shall not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God– 15otherwise you might make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land and they would play the harlot with their gods and sacrifice to their gods, and someone might invite you to eat of his sacrifice
Babylon, the fallen church has invited many to come eat and drink with the enemy. This brings judgment and the wrath of God. The cup “she” holds is full of abominations and deceived Christians drink it up until they get drunk or fall asleep. When we drink the wine (doctrine) sold in Babylon, we end up stumbling in spiritual darkness. We cannot eat at the table of the LORD and demons at the same time. Doing so, brings judgment and wrath upon us as Paul writes.
1 Corinthians 10:21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons. 22Are we trying to arouse the Lord’s jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
Of course, all deceived Christians do not know they are deceived and are totally ignorant of the fact they walk in a covenant with the enemy. They have played the harlot and continue to walk in the flesh, never dying to it — yet claim to know and worship our very Jealous God. The wrath of God is beginning to be poured out. Ignorance is no excuse because God has written His laws on our hearts. We know what is good and what is evil. When we sin, we choose to rebel against God.
Babylon has rejected God and therefore God has rejected all who partake of its sins. This “mother” (church) is being destroyed and the people and the false teachers that help carry out this abomination of the truth. God has sent delusion upon them, making them drunk from their false doctrine such that they stumble even in spiritual daylight. They cannot see the truth until and unless they repent.
Hosea 4:5-6 So you will stumble by day, and the prophet also will stumble with you by night; And I will destroy your mother. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest since you have forgotten the law of your God
The winds of judgment are already blowing. The Scriptures speak of these winds throughout the Holy Book. My main purpose here is to open your eyes to these Scriptures in hopes you will see the righteous judgments of God foretold to us in advance. When the Lord returns, He will send His angels to gather the elect from the Four Winds of Heaven. What this really means is that God will save us from these winds. The winds are winds of judgment, they bring the wrath and fire as will be shown below. This event Jesus spoke about in Matthew 24, comes “post” tribulation, after the flood has spiritually swept away all not standing on the ROCK Eternal.
Matthew 24:31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect FROM the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other
These four winds are part of the powers of darkness, they somehow relate to the four horsemen of the Apocalypse that was the subject of a recent video series I did. I cannot fully explain my understanding in this post but if your interest is tweaked, see Zechariah chapter 6 and properly apply the allegorical definitions of the horses and the Northland. It fits in an unbroken pattern.
Ezekiel’s Vision of Whirlwinds
The Prophet Ezekiel was sent by God to be a watchman. The role of a watchman is to warn the people of God of impending danger. Watchman are required because people sleep spiritually and live in ignorance to the truth of God’s Word, which as we saw above from Hosea results in the destruction of God’s people. Obedient watchmen speak truth and save souls IF their warnings are heeded and acted upon. That is my underlying purpose here today with this post and the whole purpose that God has called me and has been revealing things to me. Whether you believe that or not matters not to me, I only ask you consider what is said here and judge it based on the Scriptures and only receive into your heart what God confirms to you. If you have light that brings correction or clarity, please bring it forward so we can grow together in our knowledge of Jesus.
It is happening NOW — exactly as the Prophets and Jesus told us it would happen in the end. Let’s begin by examining the Ezekiel’s visions of the Four Angelic looking beings that are later spoken into his mind as Whirling Wheels.
Ezekiel 1:4-5 As I looked, behold, a storm wind was coming from the north, a great cloud with fire flashing forth continually and a bright light around it, and in its midst something like glowing metal in the midst of the fire. 5Within it there were figures resembling four living beings and this was their appearance: they had human form
These figures, and creatures as called elsewhere are the FOUR WINDS OF HEAVEN. They are part of God’s Mighty Army and the instruments of His righteous judgments upon man and the world. If we get settled in our minds that the powers of darkness are God’s chosen instruments to carry out His righteous judgment and to test all faith, the message I am giving here will fall right into place. If you don’t get that, you won’t get this message whatsoever and I strongly suggest you go read these two posts as a prerequisite for this one: God’s Mighty Army and God Said You Would Not Believe It. There are several immediate hints that these angelic beings are a big part of the powers of darkness, a creation of the Lord that remains a deep mystery, to be revealed only in the end. Notice these creatures come with storm winds, on clouds and with fire. Notice also that they had human form, meaning that they carry out their work inside of human bodies, just like God works in us with His Holy Spirit. A simpler way to say this with one word is RELIGION. Forms of godliness is not godliness. The words storm, clouds, and fire are all allegories and types and in many places in Scripture refer to the powers of darkness that come to bring judgment upon sin and to test the hearts of God’s people. Once you begin to see this, many other passages will open up with new revelation. Do you own word search on this but here are a few examples of the winds of judgment.
Zechariah 7:14 I scattered them with a storm wind among all the nations whom they have not known. Thus the land is desolated behind them so that no one went back and forth, for they made the pleasant land desolate. We know that Satan and his allies cause desolations, the very ones spoken of that defile God’s temple, which is our own hearts, minds and souls.
Isaiah 30:30 And the LORD will cause His voice of authority to be heard, and the descending of His arm to be seen in fierce anger, and in the flame of a consuming fire in cloudburst, downpour and hailstones. This is the same description of events after the first trumpet is blown in the book of Revelation. A nearly identical passage is in Ezekiel 13, notice the references to the rain and the downpour, respectively. THIS IS THE FLOOD.
Ezekiel 13:13 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: “I will cause a stormy wind to break forth in My fury; and there shall be a flooding rain in My anger, and great hailstones in fury to consume it.
Amos 1:14 So I will kindle a fire on the wall of Rabbah and it will consume her citadels,
Amid war cries on the day of battle, and a storm on the day of tempest. The citadels refer to the assemblies of man’s religion. The fortified towers with steeples and stained glass, where people go and are given a false peace and security. Babylon will be subject to burning as these spiritual winds intensify and God releases them in His full fury. Judgment begins at the house of God so those that call themselves Christians can repent and turn back to the Lord before the door to the Ark is shut.
Ezekiel further described the Four Whirling Wheel as follows:
Ezekiel 1:6-10 Each of them had four faces and four wings. 7Their legs were straight and their feet were like a calf’s hoof, and they gleamed like burnished bronze. 8Under their wings on their four sides were human hands. As for the faces and wings of the four of them, 9their wings touched one another; their faces did not turn when they moved, each went straight forward. 10As for the form of their faces, each had the face of a man; all four had the face of a lion on the right and the face of a bull on the left, and all four had the face of an eagle/vulture.
This description all defines characteristics of walking in the flesh with the nature of Satan. We must overcome the flesh and put on the divine nature of Christ. This description by Ezekiel speaks to deception, bondage and ultimate destruction of man’s religion. You will find that bronze is a frequent allegory to the flesh. Jesus is described as having bronze feet, indicated He walked in the FLESH, which He did. The bronze legs and cattle like hoofs cements this in my understanding of these whirling wheels. It fits all the way thru the Book. I hope you know by now what lions typically refer to and the word eagle is more appropriately translated as a vulture. We know what vultures do, they feast on corpses of dead or decaying bodies. These are the birds of mid-heaven that come to consecrate the feast of demons described in Revelation 19 and Ezekiel 38, amongst other places.
Ezekiel encountered these same beings a second time as recorded in Chapter 10, even stating they were the same beings. Yet the description was slightly different in terms of the four faces and this gives us another clue as to the identity of the four creatures.
Ezekiel 10:12-14 Their whole body, their backs, their hands, their wings and the wheels were full of eyes all around, the wheels belonging to all four of them. 13The wheels were called in my hearing, the whirling wheels. 14And each one had four faces. The first face was the face of a cherub, the second face was the face of a man, the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle/vulture.
What changed was the face of the bull is now called a face of a cherub. The word bull is used interchangeably with the word Ox and Calf as a review of Exodus will clearly show. A cherub or the plural cherubim mean baby angels in our modern dictionaries. I believe baby is a bad translation and a better one is lesser angel.
So What Are These Beings?
These are not God’s Holy and ministering angels, they are lesser or fallen angels that are still in the hands of God Almighty. He uses them to accomplish His purposes. The entire book of Ezekiel is about sin, judgment and warnings to the people of God. As you might imagine, the Prophet’s mission was not accepted with open arms by the religious crowd of his day. Ezekiel was shown visions and the deep mysteries of God which were also referenced by other prophets.
I believe these four whirling wheels are the four winds of heaven and am beginning to understand that they are also related to and most likely the same four beasts or living creatures that John saw and described in the Book of Revelation. Compare the description of Ezekiel’s Whirling Wheels with the creatures John saw before the throne in Revelation.
Revelation 4:5-7 Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God; 6and before the throne there was something like a sea of glass, like crystal; and in the center and around the throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind. 7The first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle.
The Whirling Wheels and the four living creatures in Revelation fit the role and description of the powers of darkness that is buried deep in our Bibles. The whirling wheels were also described as having eyes all around.
Ezekiel 1:18 As for their rims they were lofty and awesome, and the rims of all four of them were full of eyes round about
These beings are the eyes of God and from them originates the judgment and discipline of God for all sin. These creatures are commanders of the powers of darkness and direct God’s Mighty Army to carry out His righteous judgments. This rocks the image of God most people hold to, yet we are told the whole world would be deceived and actually be worshipping the beast in Babylon. Hear what God had to say about HIS army, the demons and dark powers that He created for His purposes.
Isaiah 13:3 I have commanded My consecrated ones, I have even called My mighty warriors, My proudly exulting ones, to execute My anger. Speaking to the astonishment of the deceived church, God says in verse 16… Before their eyes; their houses will be plundered. Our hearts are the houses, our souls the plunder, they are the plunderers.
Ezekiel 1:24-26 I also heard the sound of their wings like the sound of abundant waters as they went, like the voice of the Almighty, a sound of tumult like the sound of an army camp; whenever they stood still, they dropped their wings. These are part of God’s Army and as we see in the next verse, they are under the throne (feet of Jesus).
And there came a voice from above the expanse that was over their heads; whenever they stood still, they dropped their wings.26Now above the expanse that was over their heads there was something resembling a throne, like lapis lazuli in appearance; and on that which resembled a throne, high up, was a figure with the appearance of a man.
They are in subjection to the LORD. While we cannot fully explain or are to know the mysteries of God, these beings and these angels or beasts serve the Most High God. Man has created an image of God and the enemy where the enemy is outside the control of the LORD. That is a very dangerous theology to follow and is found nowhere in the Scriptures.
God is patient and merciful. Praise God. These whirlwinds are being held back by God until the full remnant is sealed with the Mark of God. When mercy runs out, then God will release them in their full fury to execute His wrath for sin and rebellion. That time is fast approaching says my spirit and these spiritual winds are beginning to pick up in preparation. John saw these angels being held back in his vision of heaven.
Revelation 7:1-3 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, so that no wind would blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree. 2And I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the seal of the living God; and he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, 3saying, “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the bond-servants of our God on their foreheads.”
The Whirling Wheels are the angels of judgment that are part of the powers of darkness. God sends other angels to gather up the saved remnant (the elect) FROM the four winds. These winds bring the final wrath. The meeting the Lord in the air comes when the Holy Angels come gather the elect. This is after the flood and after the tribulation but before the whirlwinds are fully unleashed. If we are in Christ, we are gathered up and spared this final wrath.
Mark 13:27 And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven
God has two sets of angels. True angels of light and angels of judgment. They both work for God, the creator of ALL THINGS.
Isaiah 28:2 Behold, the Lord has a strong and mighty agent; As a storm of hail, a tempest of destruction, Like a storm of mighty overflowing waters, He has cast it down to the earth with His hand. These beings are part of God’s Mighty Army. They have been cast down to earth and serve God to bring about His righteous judgment for sin and rebellion. God is not just a God of love. He is a God of vengeance and we had best learn to fear the Lord once again.
Isaiah 29:6 From the LORD of hosts you will be punished with thunder and earthquake and loud noise, With whirlwind and tempest and the flame of a consuming fire. These winds and this fire are everywhere in your Bible. We had best not be ignorant of the truth any longer. God’s people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge. Babylon is fallen, man’s church is deceived and its religion is deception.
How Does This Affect Our Walk?
God didn’t waste His time or energies in calling men of God and having them write Scripture. These passages and the whole of the Holy Scriptures are ALL there for a reason. There are no idle words of Scripture. They are there to bring us revelation of God as the Spirit shows us and they testify to God and His love and His Righteous Judgment. Our jealous God is a consuming fire and it is by His Love and grace that we are saved and sanctified and escape all these things spoken of thru the prophets. We ignore what we might call the “negative” passages at our own peril. Satan is the deceiver and has exalted himself as God in the minds and hearts of the people. It truly is a horror once you see it.
Paul warned us to take heed of his warnings and the Word of God so that the things (the judgments, the wrath, the curses) would not come upon us.
Acts 13:40 Therefore take heed, so that the thing spoken of in the Prophets may not come upon you:
BEHOLD, YOU SCOFFERS, AND MARVEL, AND PERISH;
FOR I AM ACCOMPLISHING A WORK IN YOUR DAYS,
A WORK WHICH YOU WILL NEVER BELIEVE, THOUGH SOMEONE SHOULD DESCRIBE IT TO YOU
Very few believe this. Most scoff and mock at the truth. They live in Babylon and are drunk with the wine of the harlot church. Paul said you would not believe it and he was correct. I have shown this so clearly to a few esteemed religious folks yet they are so blind and have no spiritual eyes to see it. God has to show it to you.
Now that we know what the four winds are and the armies from the north, we can go back to perplexing passages like Daniel 7 and Ezekiel 39 and get new meaning from what has been speculated on for centuries.
Daniel 7:2 – Daniel spoke, saying, “I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the Great Sea. 3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, each different from the other. If you are familiar with many of my blog writings, you will know what this great sea refers to the beasts which are the spirits of antichrist that come out of the sea in Revelation 13. These winds are an important element of the mystery of inequity, my guess is they represent principalities and authorities in the realm of darkness that is under the feet of Jesus.
These winds are part of the mystery of inequity spoken of in 2 Thessalonians. I certainly don’t understand it all but the Lord is faithful and continues to show me more and more. We need to get into the ARK, the real Jesus and walk in covenant with Him. This is the only way to be protected and be saved from the wrath that these winds are bringing.
Are you on God’s Holy Mountain. Are you really on Mt. Zion? That is the only place Jesus is coming back to pick up His Bride.
Hebrews 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, 23to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect
Hello Pete. I am responding because I would like for you to consider what the four winds are according to the scripts. The scripts already give its own interpretations of the four winds of heaven. In Daniel 7:2 it reads,” Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. Dan 7:3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. So these four winds are four beast that came up from the sea. The sea or water is a metaphor for people of all nations according to Rev 17:15. And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. Rev 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. The sea represents people for the literal sea cannot be hurt.Dan 7:16 I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
Dan 7:17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. So the four winds are four beast are four kings but actually it means kingdoms that will arise out of the earth. Dan 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. If you read you will find out that three kingdoms have rules already and we are under the fourth kingdom now. These are the only kingdoms that have ruled the entire earth by themselves. The Babylonian, medes/persians, Greeks, and the last captivity we are under are the Romans. The scattering of the Israelites in the midst of the four winds was because of their rebellion. Deut 28:16-68 and Lev 26:33-46 actually talks about the last scattering for them to be under the Roman rule. Its important to know that the sea is people and the four beast came from amongst the people. The four beast in Rev 13 are the same as the ones in Daniel 7 except they are together now. In daneil the lion, bear, leopard, were seperate kingdoms. Now in Rev 13 they re all apart of the same body. The leader of the greek empire fell and three of his generals took over so that makes 7 heads (look it up brother) and the last head is the Roman which is that dreadful beast, namely the papacy. Just thought that I should share that with you man. it’s not jeremiah 30-30 its isiah 30-30. Keep speaking the truth. Those who have eyes to see and ears to hear are heading the words. This goes right along with what the lord has been showing me in his word, and i’m just a mom.
I like the Newsboys and this song, maybe it is the beat and the words. But it resonates with me. I think it is correct. THe four winds are part of God’s creation, He created it ALL. Above the whirling winds was the throne of God in Ezekiel 1 and 10 and that is where the faithful are gathered. The true praises of God get to God. The enemy (that God created) is not God and has no authority except that which God grants as part of His perfect plan and will. Jesus is building His church and the gates of hades will not prevail against it.
The Newsboys song; “He Reigns” speaks of praises rising above the four winds and reaching the fathful gathered underground. Has anyone ever gotten the correct meaning of this verse? Is it scriptually correct according to your understanding of the four winds & the faithful?
