It’s Like Noah’s Time Now
Rev 12:15 and the serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood.
My spirit has been heavy in the past few months. I see a flood sweeping the world, a flood of lies and deceit that comes in many forms and from all angles. The disastrous events in Haiti have only exacerbated my feelings and brought me into a state of humility and numbness. It is difficult to explain in the natural.
All I want to do is seek the face of God and spend time with Him. I am at peace yet there is a feeling of sadness for the sorry state of the world and Christianity. It is mourning, like what Jeremiah wrote about in Lamentations and yet there is also great joy inside me at the same time. God has moved and continues to move in me and I praise Him for that and the grace He continues to pour out on this undeserving man.
We are entering some very tough times . God’s judgment is coming and afterwords will be the glorious return of the Lord, at least for His Children. I see people not trusting in God that are entering their own personal furnaces much like Shadrach – yet they are getting scorched. They are not walking with God like Shadrach did despite the outward appearances. Their cups are clean but their hearts are impure. They have bowed down to idols and worldly lusts. Clouds of judgment are hovering the earth yet the Lord is patient not wanting any of us to perish. The DAY OF THE LORD will indeed be a very dark and dreadful day to all but the relatively “few” that will be found worthy to stand before the Son of Man. I am writing what is on my heart, I am not trying to be negative.
I want to share some light or what I believe to be truth about the times of Noah and what the prophecy of Jesus means for us today. Jesus told us that one of the signs that would tell us His return and judgment was imminent was that it would be “as in the time of Noah”. I have written about all the end time signs Jesus spoke of in a prior post you can access HERE. I recommend you read that and study Matthew 24 and Luke 17 and 21 on your own as you need to know what time it is.
Luke 17: 26-27 And JUST AS IT HAPPENED in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and THE FLOOD CAME and destroyed them all.
There are some noteworthy parallels between what happened in Noah’s time and what is happening now in 2010. I see several parallels situations today that Scripture tells us existed in Noah’s time. Jesus gave us this prophecy sign for a reason. It was to help show us the season we were in and give warning for those living in the end times to prepare themselves and awaken the brethren. That is my purpose here today.
Let’s recap quickly Noah’s story. The story of Noah contains vital life saving information for today begins in Genesis Chapter 6. I hope you have spiritual eyes to see the parallels.
Genesis 6:5-9 The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. 6 The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. 7 So the LORD said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. 9 This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God. Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. 11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.
This passage and the words of Jesus from Matthew 24 tells us several things and bring to light parallels between the days of Noah and the End Times. I believe we are in those times, where exactly only God knows.
1. People were focused on worldly things
We are eating, drinking and marrying today like in Noah’s day. The point Jesus made was not that these things were going on, but that these things had the hearts and minds of the people. When man turns to the world and pursues its lusts (materiality), lusts of the flesh (pride, greed, jealousy..) and sensuality (only believing what we see, hear and touch in the natural), the hearts of the people are not given to God. Jesus said that where are hearts are, there our treasure will also be. He also said that His foremost commandment was to Love Him with our whole heart. If we love the world or the things in the world, we are an enemy of God. The Apostle John told us not to love the world or the things in the world or else we would not be walking in Covenant with God.
1 John 2:15-16 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world.
Jesus gave us the antidote to being ensnared by worldly lusts and desires.
Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well
Based on what Scripture says about Noah’s time, mankind in general is focused on the same things.
2. The earth was wicked and practiced evil continually.
Reading or watching the news is enough to make you sick. Crime, hatred, sexual immorality have run amuck in this country and in the world. People are living lawlessly and the levels of violence and immorality have reached levels we could not even imagine 25 years ago. I think nothing more needs to be said on this parallel, it is just as was in the days of Noah.
3. God found favor only in Noah’s family
We are told Noah’s family were the only righteous and blameless people on earth. Noah’s small group, unlike ALL others on the earth walked with God. Jesus is coming back for a holy and blameless Bride, those are the only ones who will be protected and spared the wrath of God that is coming. Covenant with God is a two way street and our God that changes not has always told us what happens if we do not keep Covenant with Him. We keep Covenant by obeying His commandments.
Matthew 7:14 For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
The Scriptures tell us that relatively few will be allowed in heaven, despite many that call Jesus Lord. The prophets such as Isaiah and the Apostles such as Paul tell us that only a remnant will be saved.
Romans 9:27 Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved. For the Lord will carry out this sentence on earth with speed and finality.
This is not talking about the Jews, it is talking about Spiritual Israel if one properly divides the preceeding portions of the book of Romans.
Several of my recent posts have spoken to the fallen away apostate church. There are indeed lots of people that walk with God in true faith, obeying and certainly striving to obey all of His commandments. These are the true descendants of Abraham but they represent the relatively few that God will find favor with when He returns. We need to work out our salvation with the fear of God to ensure we make the cut.
4. A Second Flood NOT of Water Comes
God cannot lie. After the flood of Noah’s time, God made a vow to never destroy the earth and man using a flood of water.
Genesis 9:11 I establish My covenant with you; and all flesh shall NEVER AGAIN be cut off by the water of the flood, neither shall there again be a flood to destroy the earth.
But all the end time prophecies speak to the end coming similar to a flood. Consider the opening verse at the top of this post, the Serpent (Satan), pours water after the woman (Church) causing the church to be swept away. God allows the powers of darkness to destroy the church in the end, only promising to save the individuals who truly walked with Him and were standing on Jesus, the rock eternal. Look at what Daniel was told by God’s angel about the end times he saw in a vision. Here again we see a flood, not of water coming to destroy the “church”, which in this case is the “city” and the “sanctuary”.
Daniel 9:26 Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince (children of the devil) who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary And its end will come with a FLOOD; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined
You really need to see this and understand what is going on in the spiritual. We are at war. Jesus told us an interesting parable that was recorded in the Matthew, Mark and Luke. In this parable, Jesus speaks to a metaphorical flood that would come destroy the wicked and that the righteous would be able to withstand and overcome the flood.
Luke 6:46 Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? 47Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: 48he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. 49“But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.”
This flood Jesus spoke about was a counterfeit to God’s river of life and the living waters that come from the Holy Spirit. We withstand the flood by DOING WHAT HE SAYS TO US. We must be led by the Spirit of God to be sons of God. Jesus is the WORD, and His words are Spirit and they are life. Satan is the antithesis of Christ, the opposite. Satan’s words are death and his river brings destruction. Satan’s words are lies while the LORD’s words are truth. The truth sets us free, the lies ensnare us into bondage and kill, steal and destroy us spiritually.
This parable from Jesus is not talking about water my brothers and sisters. it is talking about a flood of lies and the powers of darkness (our enemy) from which they would come. There are scores of references to the judgment God will bring upon the fallen away Babylon Church. There needs to many posts created to lay out this truth as it covery prophecies in Isaiah 5,6, 29, 31 and of course Jeremiah 50 and 51 along with the whole book of Lamentations. I encourage you to read this chapter and look at the destruction God will bring upon the false church. Water, waves and roaring seas are all types of the lies from the enemy. God turns what His Word call His Might Exulted ones to bring this judgment. If you see this truth in these warnings, you instantly understand what the real church is that was spoken of in Scripture and the GREAT BABYLON HARLOT CHURCH that runs religion across the globe
We all must come thru the trials of life and we are called to overcome the prince of the power of the air, the ruler of this earth which is Satan and his army. They are the powers of this dark world that Paul wrote about. We are in a war my friends, we had best quit ignoring it. Want to know about the war, click HERE.
In the end times (ie NOW), a flood of words, lying words is coming against us. We had best be standing on the rock eternal, the LORD JESUS CHRIST if we have any hopes of standing firm until the end. Unfortunately, Scripture tells us that most will fall away from the faith and will deceived by the lies and live with a false security. I have many posts that speak to this. The heaviness on my heart comes from the realization of truth and where we are as it relates to this falling away and the flood that has already come and is in the process of destroying the faith of many and putting new false converts on a broad road that leads to destruction. That is why I lament and more so because very few people are aware and have any understanding of this.
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils
We are told to take every thought captive that exalts itself against the truth of God’s Word. I can tell you those thoughts are coming at you, even as they come at me. But we can overcome if we stand firm on the rock.
5. Wicked Are Taken Out, Righteous Are Left
Lastly I want to make a brief point about how judgment comes. Jesus statement about His Second Coming being like Noah gives us a clue.
Genesis 7:23 Thus He blotted out every living thing that was upon the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky, and they were blotted out from the earth; and only Noah was left, together with those that were with him in the ark.
The wicked are going to be taken out. Just as in the Parable of the Wheat and Tares, the Fishing Net and others, the righteous will be left on earth. Jesus brings us thru the flood, He does not take us out of the flood. It is the wicked that are swept away.
I don’t believe in a pretribulaton rapture but many faithful in Christ do believe in the rapture. I am done judging people on this issue. The only thing that matters is a love for God and obeying His commandments, being led by the Spirit of God. If He comes sooner than I expect then Glory be to God.
When The Day of the Lord Comes
We will be judged by our deeds not our faith. All of Scripture says that when judgment is spoken about. This does not diminish faith as it is the beginning and the end of our walk with God. But it is what we do with that faith that determines our fate on the Day of the Lord. If we shrink back from the word, fall away from the truth and wilfully practice sin by choosing to serve another Master, we are going to be destroyed unless we repent. Those that do not believe in Jesus and those that do not obey His commandments are going to be destroyed forever.
2 Thess 1:8-9 when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,8dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power
Those that believe in perverted grace don’t see this verse for what it clearly says just as they do not see or understand all the other warnings in Scripture. God is coming SOON to take out the wicked, they will be destroyed in flaming fire. God is faithful and as the Parable of the Workers tells us, it is never too late to come to work for God so long as it is before the Trumpet sounds. Be ready for none of us know the day or the hour of His return.
Jesus told us more about Noah’s time saying that the people lacked understanding until the flood began to sweep them away. They mocked and scoffed at Noah just as the mocking and scoffing that typically responds to a message of truth like the one I am trying to tell you from my heart. Remember also that God, not Noah SHUTS THE DOOR so do not think you can be alert and have a one minute to midnight true repentance. You will die in your sins if you do not start obeying the Gospel. Do not deceive yourself with the false security being taught by false and deceived shepherds. God promised that if we were practicing sin, we would lack understanding of the truth and we will certainly not know what time it is on God’s clock. Do not be a foolish virgin, there will not be time to go get oil in your lamp. I pray those that believe in Christ will wake-up and see the desolation that is already occurring and about to destroy them.

Stumble It!
