Theology: Precepts of Man
A message of wisdom regarding who is our teacher. The modern church system has elevated and appointed men to be our teachers; yet only God raises up true teachers. Most of what is being taught is man made doctrines full of error that can lead us to death if we follow teachings contrary to the word of God. The following passage is referenced from John’s Gospel where Jesus answered the critics that questioned His credentials. This same history lesson is playing out today as Satan has perpetuated an “inside” attack on God’s truth.
John 7:14-18 Not until halfway through the Feast did Jesus go up to the temple courts and begin to teach. 15The Jews were amazed and asked, “How did this man get such learning without having studied?” 16Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me. 17If anyone chooses to do God’s will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. 18He who speaks on his own does so to gain honor for himself, but he who works for the honor of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.
We are taught obedience is optional, salvation is a free gift without conditions, we are saved by saying a prayer once, demons don’t exist, baptism in water was not commanded by Jesus, the Lord abolished the law, God changes, being religious is righteousness, sacrifice is more important than obedience, we are not to fear God, and many other lies.
I do not condemn people earnestly serving God, but we must judge righteous judgment and stand up for the truth. In this case, it is not us judging but God judging as His very words will be our judge.
Let’s not be seduced into false and vain worship. We cannot worship with our lips and yet have our hearts far from God. Who are we following? Are we seeking His will and His kingdom or are we kidding ourselves by following doctrines of demons, acting religious yet we really do not know Christ.
Jesus said “Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord, will inherit the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, I NEVER KNEW YOU. Away from me you who practice lawlessness (sin).”
Are you hearing the voice of the Father? The true sheep will hear the voice of God and follow Him. At this late hour, it is time to wakeup and ensure we have oil in our lamps. Much of the so called church has become a social club and you are as just as likely to hear books of men referenced in a sermon than you are the words of the Lord.
